Sherbrooke. 11 décembre 2019 - Le pilote de course automobile Alex Tagliani invite les journalistes et les médias à le rencontrer ce vendredi 13 et samedi 14 décembre, à partir de 10 heures au Carrefour de l'Estrie à Sherbrooke pour des entrevues lors du lancement officiel de son centre d'attraction TAG Amusement. Alex sera également disponible pour les médias dès mercredi pour des entrevues téléphoniques afin de parler de l'ouverture de ce premier centre familial d'amusement nouvelle génération.
Au local de la nouvelle bannière d'amusement situé au Carrefour de l'Estrie, le pilote de la voiture #18 de la série canadienne NASCAR Pinty's recevra également les amateurs qui désirent le rencontrer vendredi et samedi alors qu'il expliquera les facettes de ce centre d'attraction interactif. Alex mettra au défi de battre son pointage dans les différents jeux pour courir la chance de mériter un chandail et une casquette dédicacés d'une valeur de 100 $.
« Je rêve depuis plus de 20 ans du jour où je pourrais créer un centre hautement technologique où puissance et sensation offriraient une expérience client sans pareil et où les gens pourraient y faire le plein d'adrénaline, explique le pilote originaire de Lachenaie. À la recherche d'un concept innovateur, notre équipe travaille depuis plus de deux ans sur un nouveau centre d'amusement de 65,000 pieds carrés unique au Canada. Ce centre sera localisé dans la grande région de Montréal et ouvrira ses portes dès l'automne 2020. L'un de nos partenaires Vincent Chiara nous a proposé de créer du divertissement dans son carrefour pour les gens de Sherbrooke et des environs d'où la création du nouveau centre TAG Amusement qui offrira aux amateurs trois attractions d'immersions interactives dont le cinéma 4D - XD Dark Ride, le jeu de réalité virtuelle VR Maze et le jeu Typhon pour les plus jeunes et parents. C'est un rendez-vous que les médias et les amateurs de courses et de jeux virtuels ne voudront pas manquer. »
Au local TAG Amusement, les visiteurs pourront également se faire photographier en compagnie d'Alex à côté de la monoplace IndyCar Lola B02 Rocketsports Racing, voiture gagnante qu'il a pilotée en 2003 et 2004 après un passage de six ans avec l'équipe Player's et repartir avec une affiche autographiée.
Alex, qui est l'un des 230 membres du Temple de la renommée du sport motorisé canadien tout comme Jacques Villeneuve et son père Gilles, Richard Spénard, le regretté Greg Moore, les pilotes de Formule 1 Jackie Stewart et Nigel Mansell entre autres, a récolté 10 pôles, inscrit 9 victoires, 33 Top-5 et 51 Top-10 en 75 départs. Tag a été le premier pilote canadien à avoir décroché la position de tête au Indianapolis 500 lors de la 100e édition du célèbre évènement en 2011.
Durant la présentation du concept TAG Amusement à Sherbrooke le groupe annoncera qu'il tiendra un point de presse en janvier prochain pour y dévoiler l'emplacement d'un second centre de divertissement familial TAG E-Karting & Amusement dans la grande région de Montréal. Ce centre sera unique au Canada autant par sa taille que par sa conception.

WEST HAVEN, Vt. – Officials from Devil's Bowl Speedway and King of Dirt Racing have issued the following statement regarding the charges asserted on November 30, 2019 against the part-owner of Devil's Bowl Speedway and King of Dirt Racing, Mike Bruno, in connection with a situation that started with an incident of vandalism that took place at Devil's Bowl Speedway:
"We have been overwhelmed with positive support from members of the racing community far and wide, as well as from our many sponsors and marketing partners, local business owners, and many well-wishers who have no connection to Devil's Bowl Speedway, King of Dirt Racing, or the sport. We are deeply thankful for that support.
"With respect to the ongoing legal situation, we cannot discuss the details of the case. Mr. Bruno was released within hours of receiving his citation from the police after posting bail. Mr. Bruno entered not-guilty pleas and denies the allegations. We at Devil's Bowl Speedway and King of Dirt Racing trust that the legal process will arrive at the correct outcome and that Mike Bruno will be vindicated. Until the case is resolved, we have been advised not to comment any further regarding this case.
"In the meantime, Devil's Bowl Speedway and the King of Dirt Racing Crate Modified Series are enthusiastically moving forward with preparations for the 2020 racing season. We are looking forward to honoring our champions, top drivers, and award winners at the Banquet of Champions on January 25, and we expect to release some exciting news about schedules, registration, rules, and more in the coming weeks."

Annual Awards Banquet Wraps-Up Peterborough Speedway’s 2019 Season

Drivers and teams from the Central Ontario venue commonly known as Canada's Toughest 3rd of a Mile Paved Oval gathered at The Ranch Resort in Bethany Saturday, November 30th to celebrate a successful 2019 campaign at Peterborough Speedway.
Following a delicious meal, the evening continued as track owner and promoter J.P. Josiasse acknowledged the contribution of the facility's sponsorship partners and staff, reflected on the strength of the past season, including another successful running of the annual Autumn Colours Classic and updated those in attendance on the plans for the upcoming 2020 schedule. Before presenting hardware to honour the success of the season, Josiasse announced that the Best Appearing Car awards in each division were in memory of Joann Blais, a photographer and good friend of the track who passed away during the season.
Point fund awards were presented, with Corey Strawn collecting the hardware for his championship in the Battlefield Equipment Rental Bone Stock division. Kyle Novis – driver of the #45 – was named the field's most sportsmanlike driver, with Jack Hannah's #27 once again taking best appearing car. Angelo Novis was dubbed the Bone Stock rookie of the year and the most improved driver.
In the Jiffy Lube Mini Stock field, Nolan Gould took the honours for his first place finish. The most sportsmanlike driver award went to Dan Demers. Jeremy Kelly had his #80 machine voted best appearing car and was also named rookie of the year. Dylan Wills – who finished 14th in the overall standings – earned the most improved driver award.
Nicholas Ledson and Brad Lavalle shared the hardware for the championship season in the Trent Lakes Complete Plumbing Renegade Truck field. Terri-Anne Whittern was tabbed as 2019 most sportsmanlike driver. Michael Feeney took the class best appearing truck and rookie of the year awards. Most improved driver honours went to the #29 of Alex McGibbon.
With a very strong campaign under his belt, Mark Gordon collected the KOD Disposal Super Stock title. Marlie Owen took home the most sportsmanlike driver honour. The year's best appearing car was the #99 of former Renegade Truck division champion Tim Burke, with Jeff Remington named most improved driver.
Dan McHattie was once again named the Late Model track champion. In memory of Terry Calvert, McHattie was also voted by others in the field as the most sportsmanlike driver. Tyler Junkin was named rookie of the year. McHattie's #71 was picked as the best appearing car, while Kyle Batty took the most improved driver honours.
Peterborough Speedway officials would like to thank Dart Heating & Air Conditioning, Great Canadian RV, Jiffy Lube, Pepsi, Lucas Oil, Kawartha Outdoor Décor, Battlefield Equipment Rentals, Trent Lakes Complete Plumbing, Hoosier, Reinhart Trailers and other local businesses for their support during the 2019 season.
