Haverhill, NH and Barre's Nick Sweet will lead the field to the green flag in Segment 1 of the 53rd Northfield Savings Bank Milk Bowl on Sunday, October 11. Three-time defending "King of the Road" O'Donnell topped a field of 47 challengers in Booth Bros./H.P. Hood Time Trials with a fast lap of 13.229 seconds to take the pole. 2013 Milk Bowl Champion Sweet was right on his heels with a lap of 13.249 seconds and will start outside the front row. Barre's Cody Blake was third-fastest, completing a sweep of the top-three starting positions by the three top drivers in the final 2015 Thunder Road Late Model standings. The top 27 cars were separated by just 3/10 of a second. Multi-time Thunder Road winner Jason Corliss won the first "Triple 50" qualifier after coming out on top of a thrilling three-way battle with Brian Hoar and Eddie MacDonald. American-Canadian Tour (ACT) point leader Wayne Helliwell Jr. took the second Triple 50 and Merchants Bank 150 winner Brad Babb captured the third qualifier. The Bond Auto Tiger Sportsmen and Allen Lumber Street Stocks held Segment 1 of their Mini Milk Bowls. Middlesex's Shawn Fleury won the pole in Tiger Sportsman time trials and held off a race-long challenge from Craftsbury Cmn.'s Mike Martin to triumph in Segment 1. Doug Crowningshield finished third with 2015 Tiger Champion Brendan Moodie and Cameron Ouellette completing the top-five. Whitefield, NH's Ben Belanger emerged on top of a rough-and-tumble Street Stock Segment 1. Belanger fended off West Burke's Mike Smith and Essex Jct.'s Matthew Smith for the win. Marcel J. Gravel and Jennifer Getty finished fourth and fifth. The Last Chance "B" Feature for the 53rdNorthfield Savings Bank Milk Bowl rolls to the grid at 12:15pm on Sunday, October 11 with just the top-two finishers guaranteed a Milk Bowl starting spot. Opening ceremonies will follow at 1:00pm. Single-day admission is $25 for adults and free for kids age 12 and under.
