Even with Central Ontario still facing the possibility of more winter weather, the promotional team at Peterborough Speedway has released the track's 2026 line-up of Saturday night action.
The curtain will rise Saturday, May 16th with the annual Season Opener – with free spectator grandstand admission – presented by KX 105 New Country. On track action will feature the home track Bone Stock, Mini Stock, Renegade Truck, Super Stock and Late Model divisions, plus the Trailers Plus Ontario Legend Car Series. New this year will be a rain date of Sunday, May 17th for the lid-lifter.
"Our fan base asked for the safety net of a rain date for opening night and starting with this year's kick-off, we're happy to oblige," said Peterborough Speedway track owner and promoter J.P. Josiasse. "Its one of the most popular dates on the schedule and the fans make plans for it every year. I hope Mother Nature will co-operate, but it is good to have a plan in place in case she doesn't."
In addition to some of the best Saturday night action in the province, the popular asphalt oval will also play host to marquee events throughout the calendar. Double Toonie Fan Appreciation Nights – with $ 4.00 spectator grandstand admission – presented by Pepsi are once again part of the schedule. Mark your calendar for Saturday, May 30th, July 4th and August 15th for the family friendly favourite outings. Also be sure to check out the 50 lap Mini Stock Shootout Saturday, August 1st and the Bone Stock Battle August 22nd.
As it has for more than 3 decades, this year's campaign will wrap-up with the Autumn Colours Classic. The 33rd annual running of the Super Bowl of Stock Car Racing is slated for October 9th through 11th at the venue known for Making Memories for Life.
Look for the Peterborough Speedway display during several pre-season promotional events. March 27th to 29th at the Kawartha Lakes Home and Garden Show at the Lindsay Fairgrounds. The Home, Garden and Cottage Show – April 11th and 12th – at the Healthy Planet Arena in Peterborough and the annual racing preview event – April 26th to May 3rd – at Lindsay Square.
