Randy Goulet se joint aux pilotes Sportsman Qc


 

Plusieurs auront remarqué sur la liste d'inscrit pour le programme du samedi 25 juin à l'Autodrome Montmagny, la venue du #43 Randy Goulet parmi les pilotes Sportsman Qc. Certains auront peut-être associé son nom à l'entreprise Summuns Perfomance qui est en plein développement actuellement et dont il est le copropriétaire. 

 

Mais qui est Randy Goulet? 

 

Issu d'une famille de course, son défunt grand-père, Roger Rodrigue était le propriétaire de l'Autodrome Ste-Thérèse. On peut donc dire qu'il a baigné dans l'univers des courses automobiles dès sa tendre enfance. 

 

C'est à l'âge de 13 ans que le pilote de Québec débute la compétition à bord d'un véhicule de karting 4 temps. Il progressera en karting pendant 3 saisons roulant aussi avec un 125 Shifter.  Par la suite, il fait le saut pour 2 saisons en course sur glace ou il prendra de l'expérience quant à la conduite d'une voiture de course. Il participera à une saison en 4 cylindres modifiés ainsi qu'en deux saisons sur circuit routier. 

 

Par la suite, Randy Goulet range son volant et devient équipier de l'équipe de Jean-François Déry ou il travaillera pendant 7 ans a la préparation des voitures de l'équipe. 

 

C'est grâce à la confiance accordée par Samuel Charland (#41 Sportsman Qc) ainsi qu'à Yves Laroche que nous pourrons retrouver Randy parmi nous ce samedi; il tient d'ailleurs à les en remercier. 

Il va sans dire que sans ses parents qui lui ont transmis la passion des courses, ainsi que sa conjointe et sa famille, rien de cela ne serait possible. 

Venez découvrir ce nouveau pilote Sportsman Qc ce samedi 25 juin à l'Autodrome Montmagny lors des Entreprises Marc Patrick Roy 75.

Nos classes régionales présentent ce vendredi 




Lors du programme Nascar Pinty's CRS Express 300 de ce  vendredi 24 juin, vous pourrez voir en piste nos 3 classes régionales soit Amateur Oricom Internet, Sport Compact Élite Oricom Internet ainsi que Semi Pro Garage Gilles Roy.

Ces pilotes qui sont fidèles à l'Autodrome de programme en programme seront présents pour vous offrir le meilleur d'eux même afin de vous faire apprécier le spectacle. Depuis le début de la saison, à chaque programme, nous sommes heureux de constater l'ajout de quelques pilotes qui se joignent à la liste déjà bien garnie de pilotes amateurs de qualité que nous avons le privilège de compter parmi nos classes régionales et le programme du 24 juin prochain nous amènera de nouveaux coureurs.

Retour de Kharl Landry 

Si depuis le début de la saison, le #08 Dave St-Hilaire s'est particulièrement démarqué, le retour en piste du 3e au classement général de la saison 2015, le #116 Kharl Landry pourrait donner du fil à retordre aux pilotes qui sont en tête actuellement. Landry commandité par Hortibeauce Botanixinc, s'est montré très compétitif tout au long de la saison précédente et sera assurément un adversaire de taille lors du programme. La recrue de la saison 2015, le #700 William Perron connait aussi un excellent début de saison suivi de près par le #27 Mickael Giroux. Au dernier programme, la recrue  #42 Samuel Carré a poursuivi sa progression et pourrait bien surprendre puisqu'il a participé à plusieurs des pratiques depuis le dernier programme s'assurant d'arriver en piste fin prêt pour la course de ce vendredi.

 

2e manche de la Triple Couronne 

Nous pourrons assister à un 50 tours des voitures Sport Compact Élite lors de la 2e manche de la Triple Couronne Oricom Internet. Actuellement meneur après la première épreuve le #75 Steve Godbout aura fort à faire pour résister au compétitif pilote #72 Louis-Philippe Lauzier qui cumule les podiums depuis le début de la saison. Le #44 Frédéric Blanchette occupe actuellement la 3e position au classement avec 4 points d'écart sur le meneur; une victoire en qualification pourrait venir faire la différence. Le #6 Martin Labbé suivi du #4 Jimmy Gagné complète le top 5 du classement de la Triple Couronne. Avec quelques points d'écarts entre les pilotes du top 10, rien n'est joué et la prochaine épreuve viendra assurément consolider certainespositions. Surveillons le pilote de Montmagny #17 Maxime Gagné qui a terminé au 3e rang de la Triple Couronne l'an dernier ainsi que la recrue #51 Jeff Côté qui est fort impressionnant depuis le début de la saison.

 

Françis Grégoire en tête du championnat Semi Pro 

Avec seulement 2 points d'avance sur le #47 Yves Marcoux, le #116 Françis Grégoire occupe actuellement la première position du classement semi-pro Garage Gilles Roy. La lutte est chaude entre les 3 premiers pilotes; en effet le #46 Steve Simoneau suit pas loin derrière avec 215 points (218 pour le meneur). Le sympathique pilote de Vallée-Jonction, le #48 Yves Perreault suit en 4e position suivi par la voiture #71 conduite par Yvon et James Vachon.  Lors du dernier programme le #83 Vincent Vachon a connu une excellente qualification. S'adaptant à la voiture, il pourra sans aucun doute être de plus en plus compétitif lors des prochains programmes. Le #26 Martin Bisson est actuellement la meilleure recrue au classement avec sa 6e position. Ce pilote qui a terminé sur la 3e marche du podium a sa première course avec la classe Semi Pro a rapidement pris le rythme et pourrait continuer à surprendre lors des prochains programmes. Soulignons aussi la présence du #01 Jonathan Bergeron qui depuis le début de la saison, montre une constante évolution.

-Autodrome Granby. Ce vendredi 24 juin, nous accueillons plusieurs visiteurs Prostock à l'occasion de la deuxième manche de la série Prostock ultime. Ce sera aussi la première entrée au Mémorial de la terre battue cette saison avec le pilote Léo Bergeron.

 

Modifié Metalia 50 tours

Dans le classement de Granby, les frères Bernier Steve #25* et François 1* sont seulement à un point d'écart l'un de l'autre en première et deuxième places. Kayle Robidoux #46 est toujours 3ème derrière eux à une qualification près en terme de points. 

Sportsman Metalia 30 tours

Martin Hébert #43 continue d'avoir le dessus sur Martin Pelletier #92, mais avec un mince deux points d'avance. Dany Gagné #90 est toujours troisième alors que Félix Murray a pris la quatrième de Michael Richard #3M et lui a laissé sa 5ème place. Kaven Poliquin#49 prévoit être là pour sa première présence de la saison, lui que le travail empêche maintenant de courir régulièrement chez nous.

Prostock 50 tours

Nous attendons parmi nous Charles-David Beauchamp #88X qui a terminé 9ème lors de son dernier passage ici il y a deuxsemaines.Georges Renaud #55 avait planifié sa première visite cetteannée chez nous ce vendredi, or il a connu des ennuis de moteurdimanche dernier. Il fait tout en son pouvoir pour venir chez nous.Marc Lalonde #8 vient avec son équipe de jeunes âgés entre 14 et 18 ans, leurs parents et d'anciens élèves dans le cadre de son projetcommunautaire initié il y a maintenant dix ans. Stéphane Lebrun #6 qui suit les séries qui l'amènent chez nous depuis 2008 courraencore dans le but d'une première victoire en terrain granbyen. Dave Bissonnette #47 a remporté la première manche de la série Prostockultime du côté de Cornwall dimanche dernier devant Roch Aubin #4 et Jocelyn Roy #48. Ils poursuivront leurs hostilités ce vendredi chez nous.

 

Sport Compact 15 tours

Pierre-Olivier Breault #20 a une bonne avance de 54 points sur saplus proche poursuivante la recrue Nancy Landry #D1 dans le cumul. Il faut dire que Breault a un score parfait avec que des victoires jusqu'à présent soit trois. Marc Véronneau #8 suit MlleLandry à 2 points de distance seulement. Véronneau a déjà engrangédeux podiums, ne voulant pas se tenir loin de la victoire. Dominik Blais #45 récemment devenu pilote prostock revient à ses anciennesamours à bord de son Golf.

Autism Awareness Night is Next on the Peterborough Speedway Agenda

When it comes to action and excitement, motorsports enthusiasts are coming to Canada's Toughest 3rd of a Mile Paved Oval. With 5 weekly classes and the top touring series in the province, the tight, tricky bullring on Mount Pleasant Road, west of the Liftlock City can satisfy the tastes of the most discerning race fan.

 

At this point in the 2016 season, close to 90 different drivers have scored points in at least one main event over the venue's handful of regular divisions. Those are some pretty impressive stats that any track would be proud of, but Peterborough Speedway's track owner and promoter J.P. Josiasse says its only part of the story that has been making headlines this year.

 

"Across the board, our teams understand the value of car preparation and the weekly finishing orders show it," said Josiasse. "From the entry level 4Fun drivers, all the way up to the headline Late Model runners, the action has been exciting from the moment the cars roll from the staging area. The word is getting out and that makes everyone work that much harder to get to victory lane."

 

With the home track Jiffy Lube Mini Stocks, Renegade Trucks and Earl Ireland Auto Sales Late Models joined by the Can-AM TQ Midgets and INEX Ontario Legends, Saturday, June 25th is Autism Awareness Night at Peterborough Speedway. Pit gates open at 3:00, with the spectator areas unlocked at 5:00 and racing getting underway at 6:00.

 

Autism Ontario is dedicated to increasing public awareness about autism and the day-to-day issues faced by individuals with autism, their families and the professionals with whom they interact. Their work involves advocacy, government relations and responses to various issues that affect people with autism and their families. The Peterborough Chapter of Autism Ontario has a number of events planned throughout the summer and is always looking for volunteers to offer support and social activities to individuals and their families in Peterborough, Northumberland, Newcastle, Haliburton and the City of Kawartha Lakes.

PASS North Back On Track This Weekend At Lee USA Speedway

NAPLES, ME (June 21) – After a few weeks off due to rain, the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) North Super Late Models will be back on track Friday night at Lee USA Speedway in New Hampshire.  Coming in to this weekend's action, nine drivers are in striking distance for the championship, including Tamworth, NH's Jeremy Davis.  While Davis sits ninth in points, the Granite State favorite is not happy with his results, scoring only one top 10 finish so far this season.

            "My season so far has had ups-and-downs," says Davis.  "We've had some bad luck with mechanical issues taking us out of a bunch of races this season.  Lots of big races we were in contention for the win, just bad luck has taken us out.  Like our last race at Lee, we lost the motor fighting for the lead late in the race."

            Last year, Davis finished third to DJ Shaw and Derek Ramstrom for his third straight top five finish.  Coming back to Lee USA Speedway this weekend with PASS North, Davis believes all the ingredients are there to challenge for a win, if luck is on his side.  And it is special, since Davis began attending races there when he was just a week old.

            "I'm excited to get back to Lee, it's one of my favorite tracks," says Davis.  "It's big, fast, and high-banked.  There's not a lot of bite left since the asphalt is worn out, which makes it very challenging.  There's two grooves at Lee, but no one knows which is faster until you try it out that day.  I'm really hoping for some redemption from my bad luck at Lee, but just a turn around in my luck would be good to me."

Another strong field is expected for Friday night's action at Lee USA Speedway including former HP Hood Oxford 250 winners, Ben and Mike Rowe, as well as last year's winner Glen Luce, and former two-time winner, Travis Benjamin.  Former PASS champions, Johnny Clark and DJ Shaw are also entered, along with Matt Matheson, Todd Stone, Derek Ramstrom, and Wyatt Alexander, plus Granite State drivers, Bryan Kruczek, Derek Griffith, and Wayne Helliwell, Jr.

All the action gets under way on Friday at Lee USA Speedway with rotating practice for all competing divisions starting at 4 – 6 PM  Racing gets under way at 7 PM with heat race action followed by features for the PASS North Super Late Models and NASCAR Whelen All-American Series

Teams Ready for Chaudière Part Duex After Postponement

 

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The NASCAR Pinty's Series will return to Autodrome Chaudière after weather forced track officials to postpone the CRS Express 300 at the quarter mile track in Vallee-Jonction, Quebec, two weeks ago.

 

This make-up event couldn't come at a better time for NASCAR Pinty's Series championship contender Jason Hathaway.

 

Hathaway is coming off the most recent race for the series at Sunset Speedway with a disappointing 17th-place finish getting involved in an accident that forced him to the pits for extensive repairs.

 

The St. Thomas, Ontario, native returns to a track he's won at in both previous visits by the touring series.

 

A victory this Saturday would help get Hathaway back in contention for the championship and also tie him with Andrew Ranger for the most consecutive wins at one track in series history. Ranger accomplished the feat at Circuit de Trois-Rivieres (2008-10) and Circuit ICAR (2012-14).

 

Hathaway dominated in the inaugural race at Chaudière in 2014, leading 177 laps. Last year he led the final 30 laps and held off pole-sitter Alex Labbe at his home track to score the victory.

 

Ranger remains the points leader after the first two races of the season as he and Cayden Lapcevich each have 83 points with Ranger on top after winning the season-opener at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park.

Fast Facts:
The Race: The CRS Express 300 will be the third of 12 events on the NASCAR Pinty's schedule, and the first of four trips to the province of Quebec.

The Procedure: The maximum starting field is 24 cars, including provisionals. The first 21 cars will have secured starting positions through two-lap time trials while the remaining three spots will be awarded through the provisional process. The race is scheduled for 300 laps (75 miles) and will have a five-minute midway break at or near the conclusion of Lap 150. This is an impound race with two change tires allowed.

The Track: Autodrome Chaudière held its inaugural Pinty's Series event in 2014. The quarter-mile, high-banked oval opened in 1992 with a dirt racing surface and was paved for the first time in 2005.

Chaudière 300 Notes:
Homecoming for Labbe: Alex Labbe won the pole for this event last season and led 109 laps. He's from Victoriaville, Quebec, making Autodrome Chaudière his home track.

Ontario Drivers Perform Well at Quebec Ovals: There have been nine oval races in the province of Quebec in Canadian Tire Series history, and eight of the nine have been won by an Ontario driver. Hathaway has won both previous races at Autodrome Chaudière. There have been seven events at Autodrome St-Eustache with Ontario natives Steckly (4), Kennington and Dave Whitlock picking up the first six wins at the track. Last season Quebec native Andrew Ranger broke through and ending the streak at St-Eustache.

Tagliani Looks For Another Win: Alex Tagliani, fresh off his win at Sunset Speedway will go after his fourth series win and second in as many weeks. All four of Tagliani's wins have come on ovals. The Lachenaie, Quebec native finished fifth in this race last year.

Theetge Set to Drive For Steckly: Donald Theetge will make his third career start in the NASCAR Pinty's Series this Saturday at Autodrome Chaudière. Theetge also joined his brother Benoit and competed in the Grand-Am Continental Tire Challenge at Daytona International Speedway in 2010 finishing third. He'll drive a car owned by four-time NPS champion Scott Steckly. Steckly led a race-high 154 laps last year before being sidelines with mechanical issues.
