Plattsburgh, NY—Hudson, NH's Joey Polewarczyk Jr. came out on top of a battle with St-Denis, QC's Patrick Laperle to win the American-Canadian Tour (ACT) Spring Green 115 at Airborne Park Speedway in Plattsburgh, NY on Sunday.

Defending ACT Late Model Tour Champion "Joey Pole" took the lead from Laperle on lap 82 and led the rest of the way in the ACT U.S. and Série ACT combination event. Pole had lost the top spot to Laperle on a lap 44 restart, but stalked him for nearly 40 laps and eventually came away with his second win of the season and second straight ACT victory at Airborne.

"Anytime you have to battle Patrick, it's tough," Pole said. "He races me with so much respect and I try to give him the same. He got me on that restart on lap 44, and it was definitely nerve-wracking trying to get back by him…we got it inch by inch and kept working the inside and were finally able to get by."

Bristol, VT's Josh Masterson started on the pole and pulled away early as Pole got locked into a battle with Travis Stearns for second. Pole eventually cleared Stearns and reeled in Masterson, taking the lead for the first time on lap 25.

A trio of caution flags from laps 42 to 44 allowed defending ACT International winner Laperle to draw up to Pole, and the multi-time ACT champion got the jump off the outside on the race's third and final restart. Pole dropped back a few car lengths initially, but then ran in Laperle's shadow, looking first high and then low as the two drew away from the field.

Pole finally got underneath Laperle with 34 laps remaining. Although Laperle was able to close back in as they worked lapped traffic, Pole ran away in open race track in the final laps to take the win.

Laperle settled for second, with Stearns earning his first podium finish of the year in third. Bobby Therrien came in fourth, followed by Quebec's Jean-Francois Dery in fifth. Wayne Helliwell Jr., Brian Hoar, Rowland Robinson Jr., Nick Sweet, and Jeff White completed the top-10.

The ACT Tour next heads to Speedway 51 in Groveton, NH on Saturday, May 30 for the Lil Joey Memorial/Generation Next 151. Post time for the track's season opener is 5:30pm. ACT returns to Airborne on Saturday, July 18 and Sunday, July 19 for the 3^rd Annual ACT International 500. Both the ACT Late Models and the Pro All Stars Series Super Late Models will run $10,000-to-win, 200-lap events as part of the doubleheader.

Gonyo dominates Modified feature; Terry, O'Neil grab wins

PLATTSBURGH, NY – Joey Polewarczyk Jr. continued his mastery of Airborne Park Speedway on Sunday, May 17 with a convincing victory in the American-Canadian Tour's Bill McBride Chevrolet Spring Green presented by Interstate Batteries. The race, postponed one day by inclement weather, was worth the wait as the Hudson, NH driver put on a show at the front of the field with Patrick Laperle.

The pair battled for the majority of the 115-lap race and traded the lead three times. Polewarczyk dogged his St-Denis, QC rival and made the winning move at lap 82, then pulled away in the final circuits for his fourth ACT win at Airborne since October 2011. Laperle settled for second and was the highest finishing Canadian; in addition to being the fourth event of the U.S.-based ACT Late Model Tour schedule, the Spring Green opened the championship schedule for the Québec-based Série ACT as well as the Québec Triple Crown Series at Airborne.

Travis Stearns of Auburn, ME won a long battle with Airborne opening night Ground Round Late Model division Bobby Therrien of Hinesburg, VT for third place. Jean-François Déry of Québec City was fifth. Wayne Helliwell Jr. finished sixth, followed by Brian Hoar, Rowland Robinson Jr., Nick Sweet, and Jeff White.

The NASCAR Whelen All-American Series presented by Yandow Sales & Service and John Deere was also in action with three divisions. Leon Gonyo dominated the 35-lap feature for the J&S Steel Modified division to take his first victory of the season. The race ran flag-to-flag without a caution period, allowing the Chazy, NY veteran to stretch out to a comfortable lead and cruise to the win.

Jamie LaFountain had a strong run in second place end early as his car overheated, making way for an airtight battle between Codie Aubin and Jason Durgan. Hometown driver Aubin beat Durgan in a drag race off the final corner for the runner-up position. Greg Atkins came through traffic at mid-race to finish fourth, and Vince Quenneville Jr. held off Nick Heywood and Bucko Branham for fifth place. Rookies Danny Sullivan and Timex Morgan came from deep in the field to finish eighth and ninth, respectively, and Jayson Criss completed the top 10.

Atkins took over the lead in the Yandow Sales & Service/John Deere "Spring Championship Series" after the third of seven races. Heywood trails by just two points, 153-151, with Quenneville, Durgan, and Gonyo close behind. The next event is at Devil's Bowl Speedway in West Haven, VT on Saturday, May 23.

The Key R-D Trailer Sales Renegade feature was the wildest race of the day with three late-race cautions and several lead changes. Josh Terry of Essex, NY won after a long battle with Brent Jarvis and a final-lap surge from Shawn Duquette. Morrisonville, NY veteran Duquette finished second; Jarvis crossed the line in third place but failed post-race inspection with an unapproved transmission part. Richie Turner, from 17^thstarting position, inherited the final podium spot followed by Zack Daniels and Robert Gordon.

Dale O'Neil of Mooers, NY continued a strong start to his season by winning the 15-lap feature for the Busch Beer Mini-Modifieds; he also won a main event at Devil's Bowl Speedway on May 9. Kris Clark was stripped of his apparent runner-up finish in the inspection line for too much wheel camber. Chris LaVair moved up into second place ahead of Pete Blaney, Tim LaFountain, and Tyler Irwin.

Airborne Park Speedway returns to action on Saturday night, May 30 as Casella and Morrisonville Septic present double features for the Modified division and a 50-lap Enduro event. The Renegades and Mini-Modifieds will also run under the lights. General admission is $12 for adults, $10 for seniors, and free for children age 12 and under; racing will begin at 6:00 p.m.

Ontario Modifieds Racing Series Set to Tackle Canada's Toughest 3^rd of a Mile Paved Oval

Following a 3 week break in the schedule, the Ontario Modifieds Racing Series – powered by Torque Builders Inc. – returns to action for the second event of the season – Saturday, May 23^rd – at Peterborough Speedway. It will be the first of the year's scheduled events for the series on the tight, tricky bullring on Mount Pleasant Road, west of the Liftlock City.

The popular open wheeled racing tour continues to gain the attention of fans and race teams for its exciting brand of affordable, wheel-to-wheel action. Series spokesperson Randy Hollingsworth says everyone is anticipating the solid runs on the 2015 calendar.

"From humble beginnings just a few short years ago, we're making great strides at each and every event," said Hollingsworth, who along with Richard Warnes and Bill Pickford comprise the Ontario Modifieds Racing Series team of officials. "Our numbers are strong, with new drivers coming on-board every season and the crowds are seeing some exciting racing, which always helps create some enthusiasm for what we're doing."

With 16 different teams signing-in for the first event on this year's calendar, chasing the checkered flag could be an arduous task. Donny Beatty made his first career OMRS start and says he had a great time behind the wheel of the new ride. The Beaverton, Ontario veteran – a former Kawartha and Peterborough Speedway Thunder Car track champion – is one of a handful of drivers in the running for the Rookie of the Year award.

"I had a great night and enjoyed the chance to get the feel of this new, powerful machine," said Beatty. "These cars are so smooth, fun to drive and handle great. My job is to maintain the cars in the shop and drive the wheels off them at the track. I need to thank my car owner Rob James for the chance to get behind the wheel of a fantastic racecar. I'm living every racers dream. He and his wife Darlene are great people, who love racing. Thanks as well to my wife Linda for supporting me all these years and to Stu Robinson for his help at the track and behind the scenes. It's going to be a great season."

INEX Ontario Legends Series Opens the 2015 Season at Peterborough Speedway

With close to 20 teams signed-in pit side, the INEX Ontario Legends Series made its first start of the year – Saturday, May 16^th – on Canada's Toughest 3^rd of a Mile Paved Oval.

In the final feature event of the night, the INEX Ontario Legends Series came from the staging area for a 25 lapper with Bill Mason and Cole Ledson in charge of the field. Before a single lap had been completed, the pace was slowed for a 3 car incident in the 4^th turn. All involved cars were able to continue. After a few attempts at restarting the show were aborted, things settled down nicely as Brian Saunders took control of the pace, with teammate Kevin Foisy on his tail. Nicholas Ledson climbed his way to 3^rd, with his brother Cole running a position behind with less than 10 circuits remaining. The scoreboard showed 17 complete, when Bailey Brown and Willy Howells came together on the front stretch. Saunders kept Foisy at bay for the first main event victory of 2015. Nicholas Ledson, Cole Ledson and Brandon Thurlby completed the top 5.

Bill Mason, Terry McClelland, Jamie Riberdy, Michael Glaze, Bailey Brown, Robin Jongen, Cole McFadden, Jamie MacArthur, Don Arnott, Willy Howells, Robert Richardson, Fred Jordan, Duane Cinnamon and Mark Griffin rounded-out the Ontario Legends main event finishing order.

The night's first qualifying round went to Kevin Foisy, with Cole Ledson, Bailey Brown, Terry McClelland and Robin Jongen completing the top 5. Two time defending series champion Nicholas Ledson claimed the second heat, over Brian Saunders, Bill Mason, Jamie Riberdy and Brandon Thurlby. Cole Ledson grabbed the 3^rd preliminary, with Foisy, McClelland, Jongen and Brown finishing 2^nd through 5^th. Brian Saunders, Nicholas Ledson, Mason, Riberdy and Thurlby were the top 5 finishers in the 4^th and final Ontario Legends qualifier.

PLATTSBURGH, NY - La piste de Airborne Park Speedway devra attendre une journée de plus pour lancer sa programmation annuelle de courses de stock-car. Une pluie matinale et les prévisions météos peu encourageantes ont forcé les dirigeants du tracé situé à Plattsburgh, NY de reporter la 41^e présentation du Bill McBride Chevrolet « Spring Green » présenté par Interstate Batteries au dimanche 17 mai, à 13h.

Cette classique, du calendrier American-Canadian Tour, revient au circuit d'Airborne après cinq années d'absence. C'est la quatrième manche de cette série et la levée de rideau de la Série ACT, qui se dispute principalement au Québec et de la Triple couronne québécoise – trois des épreuves disputées au Airborne Park Speedway, sont comptabilisées pour un boni supplémentaire aux participants de la Série ACT.

La NASCAR Whelen All-American Series présentée par Yandow Sales & Service et John Deere seront aussi de la programmation avec les J&S Steel modifiés, Key R-D Trailer Sales renegades et les Busch Beer mini modifiés.

L'admission générale pour le Bill McBride Chevrolet Spring Green 115 présenté par Interstate, dimanche le 17 mai, sera de 20 $ pour adultes (25 $ en devises canadiennes) et gratuits pour les 12 ans et moins. Les gradins seront ouverts dès 10 h et les épreuves débuteront à 13 h 30.

Waterbury, VT—The American-Canadian Tour (ACT) Spring Green 115 at the Airborne Park Speedway in Plattsburgh, NY has been postponed to Sunday, May 1 due to inclement weather. The event is the fourth of the season for the ACT U.S Late Model Tour and the season opener for the Quebec-based Série ACT.

Post time for the rescheduled event is 1:30pm. Pit gates will open at 7:30am with the grandstands opening at 10:00am. A full revised schedule can be found at www.acttour.com.

The 41^st Spring Green 115 is the first of four combination events between the ACT Late Model Tour and Série ACT in 2015. It is also the beginning of the Série ACT Airborne Triple Crown and a prelude to the 3^rd Annual International 500 on July 18 and 19.

PLATTSBURGH, NY – Airborne Park Speedway will have to wait one more day to race. The Plattsburgh, NY track has postponed the 41^st annual Bill McBride Chevrolet "Spring Green" presented by Interstate Batteries until Sunday, May 17 at 1:30 p.m., due to morning rain and a continued wet forecast.

The event is one of the American-Canadian Tour's oldest Late Model stock car races and returns to Airborne on Sunday after five years away. It is the fourth event of the season for the U.S.-based ACT Late Model Tour and also opens the Série ACT championship and the Québec Triple Crown – a three-race bonus series at Airborne.

The NASCAR Whelen All-American Series presented by Yandow Sales & Service and John Deere will also be in action. with J&S Steel Modifieds, Key R-D Trailer Sales Renegades and Busch Beer Mini Modifieds.

General admission on Sunday, May 17is $20 for adults ($25 CDN), $18 for seniors ($23 CDN), and free for kids age 12 and under. Gates open at 10:00 a.m., and racing action starts at 1:30 p.m.

Matt Craig Looking To Breakout In PASS South Return To Concord

CHARLOTTE, NC (May 14) – Excitement continues to build as the roar of racing engines reverberates around Concord Speedway as Super Late Model and Modified racers test in preparation for the upcoming Old Glory Twin 125's. The Pro All Stars Series (PASS) South Super Late Models and KOMA Unwind Modified Madness Series will return racing action to Concord Speedway on Friday night, May 22, along with the PASS Pro Late Models and Street Stocks, for the first time since Preston Peltier won the Mason Dixon Meltdown there in 2012. One driver who recently tested at Concord for the Old Glory Twin 125's is Kannapolis, NC's Matt Craig.

"The track is pretty quick for what is when PASS last raced here," said Craig after the test. "Clay Rogers is the crew chief for this race and he said the track has gained a lot of character from way back when. Tire wear will play a factor into the race pace. We are happy with what we've got, but we're going to make some changes and be even better when we got back. I think a top 5 finish is a reasonable goal for us."

Craig is excited about the opportunity to bring the JCR3 team back to Concord Speedway for the first time since drivers like Rogers, Jeff Fultz, and Chase Pistone once raced and won there in the late 1990's and 2000's.

"It means a lot to me to get behind the wheel of our family owned cars that have a lot of success in the past, but it's also a lot of pressure," says Craig, driver of the familiar #54 C&C Boilers Chevrolet. "Chase Pistone and Clay Rogers have both won at Concord with our cars, so the expectations are very high for me. Just a few years ago, I was there when I was 9-years-old in victory lane with Clay [Rogers]. I'd like to get back there again next weekend."

At just 16-years-old, Craig has been competing in Super Late Models for less than a year. As a matter of fact, he once drove Legends cars at Concord Speedway's quarter mile oval. Craig currently sits 5th in PASS South Super Late Model points, despite a disappointing outing at Hickory Motor Speedway that saw him fail to make the field for the Easter Bunny 150. While his results have been solid, Craig feels like he still has a lot to prove.

"The season so far has had a lot of ups and downs," said Craig. "Our bad luck has continued since we left Speedweeks at New Smyrna in February. At Anderson and Dillon we took the white flag running 4^th and had a couple of bad breaks which caused us to finish deep in the field. Hopefully we can change all that at Concord."

Action begins on Thursday, May 21 with optional practice at Concord Speedway for the PASS South Super Late Models, PASS Pro Late Models, KOMA Unwind Mofifieds and Street Stocks from 3-7 PM. On Friday, May 22, pit gates open at 11 AM, with rotating practice starting at 1 PM, followed by qualifying at 5 PM, and main event racing featuring the Old Glory Twin 125's at 7 PM.
