-RPM Speedway. Ce jeudi 23 juin, c'est soir de première avec le Québec Bowl et 1000 $ au gagnant de chaque finale Modifié.

C'est maintenant Steve Bernard #54 qui est au sommet du classement devant Chris Raabe #01. Les équipes du coin de Dominic Dufault #63, de David Hébert #ONE et de Mathieu Desjardins #1M suivent dans l'ordre. Clément Therrien #39 est à égalité avec Desjardins. Le #1M a remporté sa première finale en Modifié samedi dernier à Drummondville, course qu'il a menée de bout en bout.  

 

Sportsman x 30

Martin Pelletier #92 et Martin Hébert #43 se font la lutte au cumul du RPM comme dans celui de Granby ! En troisième place on retrouve la reine du bas Josianne Plante #97. La recrue la mieux placée est François Adam #01 après deux courses, il sera en piste jeudi tout comme sa fille en Slingshot Senior dans le numéro 10.

 

Minimod x 25

Charles-Antoine Bessette #B7 a renforcé sa place à la cime du classement après avoir remporté la Coupe Coors Light du côté du Bas-Saint-Laurent. Avant cette course, il était déjà premier devant Jean-François Leblanc #21, mais s'en écarte maintenant. Steven Noël #17 est désormais troisième devant Maxime Desrosiers #3M alors que Jenny Lacroix #69 est toujours cinquième. Sébastien Bourque sera dans la voiture de location #12.

 

Modlite x 20

Avant la course de samedi à Drummondville, Éric Désilets #28 était déjà premier au classement; il est maintenant à 18 points devant Réjean Lemieux #30 et Richard Tessier #85 qui sont égaux. Kevin Burke #91 est maintenant 4ème et Benjamin Cartier #22B avec son deuxième podium en deux semaines a monté en cinquième position du cumul. Les choses vont de mal en pis pour Martin Fleurant #52 qui avait eu des problèmes de transmission lors du dernier programme chez nous et pour qui ça n'allait pas plus samedi dernier. Il devrait se reprendre ce jeudi.

 

Revstar STR x 20

Pierre Fontaine #66, Patrick Rhéaume #71, Carl Labonté #48 et la recrue Sébastien Bélanger #99 ont confirmé leur présence chez nous jeudi. Jonathan Archambault #24 et Antoine Parent #17 qui ont terminé 3ème et 6ème à Granby vendredi dernier ont aussi garanti être là. La recrue STR Manuel Messier #63 se joint au reste de la famille qui court en slingshot. Une autre recrue,Jeremy Roy #90, qui n'était pas à Granby, sera chez nous jeudi.Francis Méthot #55 grâce à sa victoire de vendredi dernier est maintenant premier au classement sur la terre battue et sera aussi de la partie cette semaine au RPM !

 

Slingshot JR et SR x 20

Dans les deux groupes, ce sont encore des recrues qui mènent le classement. 

Chez les seniors, Sylvain Carrier #49 a les devants dans la série devant maintenant Danick Messier #63X qui a devancé sa sœur reléguée au troisième rang, Amélie Messier #63. 

Chez les juniors, Félix Roy #91 devance maintenant WilliamRacine #35 qui a pris les devants sur l'autre recrue Vincent Berthiaume #51V.

 

Nous avons tout mis en œuvre pour organiser un party de la Saint-Jean-Baptiste que vous n'êtes pas prêts d'oublier !

Un nouveau départ pour les Sportsman Québec

Un nouveau départ pour les Sportsman Québec

C'est ce samedi 25 juin que ce tiendra le 3e programme de la saison de la Série Sportsman Qc Lucas Oil à l'Autodrome Montmagny pour le programme Les Entreprises M.P Roy inc. 75. 

Plusieurs ont dû travailler d'arrache-pied pour préparer les voitures pour ce programme où nous pourrons compter sur la présence de 22 voitures. 

En tête du classement, le #33 Philippe Poulin a su compter sur une équipe prête à tout pour le remettre en piste lors du programme au Riverside Speedway Ste-Croix afin qu'il ne manque aucun tour. Leurs efforts auront été récompensés puisqu'il a terminé la soirée avec une 3e position. Un deuxième podium pour le pilote beauceron en autant de programmes. 

Le #40 Sylvain Labbé connait un de ses meilleurs débuts de saison depuis quelques années en Sportsman Qc. Ayant terminé en 3e position lors du premier programme, c'est avec la victoire qu'il est reparti du 2e programme. Sa 2eposition au classement général n'est certes étrangère à sa présence à la course de ce samedi, lui qui ne devait faire que le championnat régional ! 

En 3e position du classement général, on retrouve le #41 Samuel Charland de Warwick. Ayant remporté le titre de recrue de l'année en 2007, Charland sera sans aucun doute à surveiller sur le tracé de Montmagny. Sera-t-il le pilote qui battra le record de piste de 18,526 actuellement détenu par le #7 Réjean Blanchet?

En ce qui concerne nos recrues, le # 56 Charles Bernier est à égalité avec le #88 Xavier Pelchat. À seulement un point derrière, on retrouve le #48 Dave Caron qui a su être patient lors de la course du 4 juin dernier et obtenir le prix de la meilleure recrue du programme. Se retrouvant sur un tracé qu'il connait bien, le pilote de L'Islet pourrait bien surprendre par sa connaissance de la piste et l'amélioration qu'il démontre depuis le début de la saison. 

Les pilotes réclament du changement 

Le  promoteur et président de la Série Sportsman Qc a mis sa confiance en David Pichette comme directeur de course ainsi qu'en Stéphan Gilbert comme flagman. Les deux hommes auront carte blanche et se donnent un devoir de faire respecter la discipline en piste. Les pilotes, suite à une rencontre, ont aussi donné leurs recommandations afin d'apporter quelques pistes d'améliorations. La course de ce samedi devrait être un point tournant d'une saison qui a débuté avec beaucoup trop d'intensité et d'agressivité en piste. Il ne faudrait pas se surprendre de voir des voitures trop téméraires ou indisciplinées se voir dérouler le drapeau noir. 

Tout est en place pour faire de ce 3e programme une réussite et permettre aux spectateurs présents d'apprécier le spectacle.

Five Disqualified Following the Dirt Late Model Dream at Eldora Speedway

CONCORD, N.C. – June 20, 2016 – DIRTcar Racing officials have disqualified five competitors following failed post-race inspections at the Dirt Late Model Dream at Eldora Speedway.

Tire samples collected from the #B5 driven by Brandon Sheppard, #22 driven by Gregg Satterlee, #20 driven by Jimmy Owens, #33X driven by Ricky Thornton and #0 driven by Scott Bloomquist and tested by an independent laboratory did not meet established benchmarks in a chemical analysis.

A total of 32 samples were taken throughout the weekend, June 9, 10 and 11, from participants.

All five competitors were found to be in violation of rule 15.11-G and were fined in accordance with rule 11.1.

Rule 15.11-G.) Chemical alterations, vulcanizing, tire softening, defacing and/or altering the face of the tire lettering and/or tire stamping will not be permitted. Chemicals or tire softening is not permitted at any time.  Tires may be inspected at any time. Any violation with any tire presented for competition may result in immediate disqualification from the events and/or other penalties including but not limited to; loss of money, fine, loss of points and/or suspension.

All five have been disqualified from the event, including the loss of all purse money and championship points earned during the event, fined $1,000 and penalized 1,000 DIRTcar Late Model points for the 2016 season. The total penalty, including loss of money, fine and the cost of the tire analysis was $19,630 for Sheppard, $4,655 for Satterlee, $7,630 for Owens, $10,930 for Thornton and $6,105 for Bloomquist.

Each has been placed under a three-month suspension from all DIRTcar sanctioned events, which includes World of Outlaws Craftsman® Late Model Series competition, beginning June 11, 2016 and concluding Sept. 11, 2016 and will be under probation following the conclusion of the suspension for the remainder of the 2016 season.

Donnelly wins Sprint Car thriller; Mosher gets first Renegade win

WEST HAVEN, Vt. – Kenny Tremont Jr.'s name repeats throughout Devil's Bowl Speedway's record books as its most successful stock car driver, and on Sunday, June 19, he added to his legacy by winning for the 71st time at the Vermont facility.  The West Sand Lake, N.Y., veteran dominated on Central Vermont Motorcycles Night for his first win in the track's 50th season, taking the "topless" special on the 3/10-mile Dirt Track at Devil's Bowl.  Also in victory lane during the night were Chris Donnelly and Matt Mosher.

Tremont started ninth on the 22-car NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Sportsman Modified field, which ran with the cars' roofs removed for the special 35-lap race, and once he gained the lead he was untouchable.  A stackup involving all but six cars slowed the race on lap 2 and several other cautions dotted the event, but "Slingshot" Tremont was never headed for the lead during any of the restarts and his familiar No. 115 S&S Asphalt Paving/Rifenburg Construction-sponsored car won by a full straightaway.

Derrick McGrew of Ballston Spa, N.Y., was the best of the rest and had a solid drive to second place.  Behind him, several drivers battled for third place before it came down to Adam Pierson and Bobby Hackel; Pierson, of East Corinth, Vt., tried for several laps to get past Hackel before finally rocketing underneath him in Turn 2 with two laps remaining.  Hackel finished fourth with Tim LaDuc fifth.

McGrew, Chris Murray, and Billy Lussier won qualifying heats, and rookie Justin Severance won the consolation race for the second-straight week.

"Professor" Chris Donnelly of Piermont, N.H., won a barnburner of a 30-lap feature for the Sprint Cars of New England (SCoNE) series.  Donnelly came from 13th starting position and trailed Dan Douville for several circuits as they navigated heavy lapped traffic. Donnelly surprised Douville with a three-wide move on the backstretch to take the lead and then ran to the win.

Douville, of Bridgewater, N.H., held on as the runner-up.  Double-duty racer Hackel, of Rensselaer, N.Y. – in just his third start in a winged Sprint Car and first with the SCoNE group – started last on the 18-car field and was electric on his way through traffic, finishing in third place with an underpowered 305-cubic-inch engine racing against the high-horsepower SCoNE 360s.  Dash winner Jake Williams and Kevin Chaffee rounded out the top five; Douville and Chaffee won heat races.

Matt Mosher of Queensbury, N.Y., captured his first-ever victory in a weekly division at Devil's Bowl by taking the 15-lap feature for the Rosen & Berger Auto Recyclers Renegades.  Mosher held off a strong charge by Paul Braymer of Granville, N.Y., for his landmark win. Heat winner Aaron Fachini was third, followed by Curtis Condon and rookie Brian Bishop Jr.

Devil's Bowl Speedway is back in action on the half-mile Asphalt Track on Saturday, June 25, with the annual "Hometown Heroes" Night presented by Rutland Regional Medical Center and Whelen Engineering.  All fire, police, rescue, military, veterans, and corrections officers in uniform or with proper identification will be admitted for free.   Regular general admission is $12 for adults, $10 for seniors and students, and free for kids age 12 and under.  The next Dirt Track event is on Sunday, July 3.

Du Stock Car à son meilleur à l'Autodrome Montmagny


Les pilotes de la populaire série ACT Québec propulsée par Viau Ford seront en action le 25 juin prochain à l'Autodrome Montmagny. De 20 à 24 pilotes sont attendus  dont le retour en piste de Patrick Cliche et Gaétan Gaudreault pour cette 3e confrontation de la saison. Une épreuve de 100 tours disputée sous le drapeau vert.


Vous pourrez voir à l'oeuvre les meilleurs pilotes québécois de Stock Car, notamment Patrick Laperle, l'actuel meneur au championnat qui tentera poursuivre sur sa lancée. L'expérimenté Donald Theetge revendique deux podiums cette année, mais il est toujours en quête de sa première victoire en 2016. Theetge est déterminé, c'est un fier compétiteur et seulement une victoire pourra le satisfaire pleinement. Dany Trépanier, le champion 2015, a mis beaucoup de pression sur Laperle lors de l'épreuve inaugurale à l'Autodrome St-Eustache, il attendait une erreur de Patrick Laperle pour lui ravir la première place, une erreur qui n'est jamais venue. Trépanier a dû se contenter de la deuxième position. Il a certes l'intention de renouer avec la victoire.


L'un des favoris de la foule, Alex Labbé n'a pas encore de victoire cette année. Le pilote de l'Équipe Larue Motorsports a effectué la plus belle remontée à l'Autodrome Chaudière lors de la dernière épreuve. Parti en fond de grille suite à une pénalité imposée lors de l'inspection technique, Alex Labbé a terminé en 3e position. Labbé, que l'on verra à 4 reprises durant la saison, a soif de victoires.
Il faudra aussi avoir à l'oeil, les Jean-François Déry, Jonathan Bouvrette, Martin Goulet Jr, Simon Roussin, Dave Coursol et plusieurs autres qui peuvent aspirer à la victoire. Une course qui promet, un événement à ne pas manquer pour tous les amateurs de Stock Car au Québec.
Au même programme, vous pourrez voir à l'oeuvre les meilleurs pilotes des séries Sportsman au Québec. 
Tout d'abord, pour la seule fois de la saison les Sportsman NASCAR, la série vedette de l'Autodrome St-Eustache prendront part à une épreuve en dehors de leur calendrier local. Ils seront en action pour une course de 50 tours. 

En demi finale, la série Sportsman Québec viendront s'affronter à Montmagny dans une course de 75 tours. 

En course de soutien, les séries de développement, les classes Amateur et Sport Compact auront des courses de 25 tours sur l'ovale de 3/8e de mille.
L'un des meilleurs programmes offerts au Québec en 2016. Un rendez-vous incontournable pour tous les amateurs de Stock Car, ce samedi le 25 juin à l'Autodrome Montmagny.

Brandt Graham Finds the Fast Lane to Lucas Oil Sportsman Cup Series Success

With family, friends and fans showing their support at every turn, Brandt Graham is enjoying a strong second season of competition on the Lucas Oil Sportsman Cup Series. After a freshman campaign that saw him become the youngest main event winner in tour history and take the rookie of the year honours on the way to a 4th place point finish, the young second generation speedster from Orono, Ontario hasn't lost a step and continues to make headlines on the provincial stock car circuit.

 

"We've run just a couple of races on this year's schedule, but the results have been what we were hoping for," admitted the driver who recently celebrated his 18th birthday. "As a team, we learned a lot last season and luckily we've been able to pick things up where we left off. The hard work we're doing behind the scenes makes sure the car is ready as soon as its rolled off the trailer. That gives us some time to find a raceday set-up that will work once the green flag waves."

 

The first events on the calendar were run at Flamboro Speedway, where the team tested during the off-season. On Saturday, May 14th Graham finished 6th, while a couple of weeks later, he logged another runner-up effort, leaving his #14 machine in the middle of a log-jam near the top in series points, a scant 3 markers out of the overall lead. Like most racers at any track or with any series, Brandt Graham says the event he looks forward to the most is the next one.

 

"There are a pair of dates coming-up at Sauble Speedway – Saturday, June 25th and Saturday, July 16th – then a homecoming of sorts Saturday, August 6th at Peterborough Speedway," said the youngster who'll begin studies in the Trades Fundamentals program at Durham College this fall. "The team is still gaining experience and we're looking for a series of strong, consistent runs every time we hit the track."
