Le GRAND PRIX de 3-SKIS au MONT ADSTOCK :

La tournée est une Première en Amérique du Nord !

(Adstock, le 3 mars 2015) —Après la Norvège, la France et Vallée-Jonction, c'est la région de Thetford qui fonce avec son premierGRAND PRIX de 3-SKIS, dimanche le 22 mars au Mont Adstock! Tout le monde a déjà rêvé de piloter un 3-SKIS dans une vraie piste de ski… Enfin, on va pouvoir le faire en toute sécurité dans 2 circuits spectaculaires dans la montagne !

Le fameux promoteur et amuseur multimédia, Marto Napoli, est enjoué : ''On va avoir une piste familiale et un circuit extrême avec des sauts pour les adultes ! Ça va être magique de voir les 3 SKIS se lancer du sommet de la montagne, du jamais vu avec plus de 1 000$ en prix pour notre Champion !''  Le premier événement de la tournée s'est tenu le 21 février dernier à Vallée-Jonction avec plus de 250 inscriptions et des milliers de spectateurs.  Pour l'occasion, Martin Fecteau a été nommé commissaire festif.

Champion to Rookie: Bresette Makes Big Jump at Airborne Park Speedway
Keeseville racer leaps from Mini-Mod title to run for NASCAR Modified rookie honors

PLATTSBURGH, NY – Steven Bresette had nothing left to prove in the Busch Beer Mini-Modified class at Airborne Park Speedway, but that won't be the case this year. Riding the momentum of winning his first track championship, the Keeseville, NY stock car driver is making a big transition from the entry-level cars into the J&S Steel Modifieds – the top division for the Plattsburgh oval.

The FedEx Ground 100 season opener will be Bresette's first test on Saturday, May 2. He is the latest addition to a talented freshman crop and is also eligible for state and national rookie honors in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series, which sanctions racing at 60 tracks across North America including Airborne.

Moving up isn't necessarily uncharted ground – Bresette previously ran two seasons in the former Limited Late Model division – but making the leap to the open-wheel J&S Steel Modifieds will pit him against the toughest and most experienced racers at Airborne.

"It's all about learning and gaining some seat time this year. Hopefully my team and I will have some fun and have a good year," an optimistic Bresette said. "I've had this car for two years and I've been tinkering on it the whole time getting ready."

He has received advice – and some extra motivation – from reigning Modified champion Nick Heywood and multi-time race winner Jason Durgan. Each was honored for their 2014 accomplishments at the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series awards gala at the NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlotte, NC in December.

"If I can finish in the top 10 in points and maybe get a podium finish in a race by the end of the year that would be awesome," Bresette said. "I'd like to be in the hunt for the rookie titles, too. Being invited to the NASCAR banquet in Charlotte would be incredible."

Bresette is sponsored by Delcon & Improvement, a home construction business that he co-owns in Keeseville, and he is hopeful to add more partners as the season approaches. He is part of a four-car family team at Airborne, joining Speedy Bresette in the Modified division and Mini-Modified racers Eddie Bresette and J.M. Bresette; Speedy and J.M. are also former Airborne champions. Friends Josh Nolan and Todd King are also part of the team, along with Steven's wife Talitha and their children, and his father Joey.

Un avenir prometteur pour l'Autodrome Chaudière

M. Dany Lagacé et M. Kevin Roberge, propriétaires actuels de l'Autodrome Chaudière, sont fiers de vous annoncer que des modifications importantes ont été apportées dans l'organigramme de l'Autodrome Chaudière. 

 

Suite à une entente entre les parties, une location/achat s'est conclue entre les propriétaires d'Autodrome Chaudière 2012 inc et Yves Pelchat ainsi qu'André Poulin. C'est donc dire que M. Poulin et M. Pelchat seront responsables de toutes les activités de l'Autodrome Chaudière pour les 2 prochaines saisons et auront la possibilité d'en faire l'acquisition, après la période de location afin de devenir les propriétaires officiels de l'Autodrome Chaudière. 

 

André Poulin demeure le promoteur et le directeur des opérations de l'Autodrome Chaudière. Quant à Yves Pelchat, il apporte son expertise en tant que gestionnaire étant déjà copropriétaire de l'Autodrome Saint-Félicien. En plus de l'Autodrome Saint-Félicien, M. Pelchat est aussi propriétaire du Camping Saint-Félicien et de celui de St-Prime. Passionné de Stock-Car, il a à cœur le développement et l'innovation. Propriétaire d'un véhicule Sportsman Québec, il participera à titre de recrue à sa première saison en 2015. 

 

M. Yves Pelchat tient à remercier Dany Lagacé et Kevin Roberge ainsi qu'André Poulin pour la confiance et l'opportunité d'affaires. « Je suis convaincu qu'on va faire une équipe performante et que nous sommes promus à un bel avenir. Nous avons à cœur le développement du Stock-Car ainsi que l'alliance entre les pistes » souligne Yves Pelchat. 

 

D'autres annonces sont à venir dans les prochaines semaines, dont une majeure au courant de la semaine prochaine concernant un ajout à la programmation de l'Autodrome Chaudière pour 2015. 

 

M. Sylvain Lord, promoteur du DMCC, voit d'un très bon œil la venue de la nouvelle équipe pour le sport motorisé au Québec.

 

Les propriétaires, les pilotes et les spectateurs peuvent respirer; avec cette entente, la région de Québec s'assure de la stabilité du stock car ainsi que la survie des classes locales et des Séries au Québec.

As we disclosed Monday, he has accepted the terms and conditions of a reinstatement program and is actively participating in the program. Kurt Busch's eligibility for reinstatement will continue to be governed by that program and the NASCAR Rule Book, though the elimination of the possibility of criminal charges certainly removes a significant impediment to his reinstatement."

Montréal (Québec), le 5 mars 2015.– Le pilote montréalais Kuno Wittmer, champion en classe GT Le Mans de la série nord-américaine d'Endurance United SportsCar l'an dernier, va affronter un tout nouveau défi le 20 marsprochain alors qu'il pilotera pour l'équipe Honda of America Racing Team dans la série Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge.

 

Après avoir remporté les 24 Heures de Daytona fin janvier, Kuno Wittmer s'est vu offrir de prendre part au week-end des 12 Heures de Sebring, non pas dans la course d'Endurance mais dans la série Challenge Continental (CTSC), réservée aux voitures Grand Sport (GS) et Sport Tuner (ST). Il sera cette fois aux commandes d'une Honda Civic Si inscrite par l'équipe officielle Honda of America Racing Team, supportée par Honda Performance Development, avec le pilote américain Chad Gilsinger, originaire de l'Ohio, comme coéquipier. « Jai roulé dans la série Continental Challenge, qui est la plus importante série de soutien du Tudor United SportsCar, en 2008. J'avais fini troisième au championnat et gagné la course de Trois-Rivières. C'est en quelque sorte un sympathique retour pour moi, d'autant que je retrouve aussi la bannière Honda » explique Kuno, qui a fait ses débuts en sport automobile au sein de l'écurie de son père, le concessionnaire Honda de Ste-Rose, dans la région de Montréal. « Honda, c'est un manufacturier particulier pour moi puisque ce sont sur des Honda que j'ai remporté mes premières victoires et mes premiers championnats » précise le pilote québécois.

 

Les voitures de la série Challenge Continental sont évidemment moins rapides qu'en United SportsCar mais c'est une série qui regroupe des pilotes qui ont beaucoup d'expérience et les grilles de départ sont importantes. « Gagner en Challenge Continental n'a rien de facile, c'est un beau défi qui m'est proposé de rouler à Sebring dans cette épreuve de Challenge Continental, une course de deux heures trente minutes» ajoute Kuno Wittmer. Son coéquipier Chad Gilsinger avait récolté la pole position l'an dernier à Sebring. L'objectif du duo est donc de rivaliser pour la victoire dans la classe ST. 

 

« Le contrat avec Honda of America est uniquement pour la course de Sebring. On verra ensuite comment se dessinera le reste de ma saison. Plusieurs projets sont actuellement sur la table, mais pour l'instant ma priorité est d'aider l'équipe et réaliser un beau résultat à Sebring avec cette Honda Civic Si qui porte le 93, le même numéro que j'avais lorsque j'ai remporté les 24 Heures de Daytona en janvier. Espérons que c'est un heureux présage ! » conclue Kuno Wittmer.

Waterbury, VT – Lee USA Speedway will present the American Canadian Tour (ACT) opening event on Sunday, April 12, 2015. The 150 lap New Hampshire Governor's Cup ACT race has traditionally been one of the most exciting and unpredictable events of any race season on the popular tour. This year is no exception-- Eddie MacDonald "The Outlaw" of Rowley, MA has only won the race one time; that was in 2014.

Lee Speedway has been owned by the MacDonald family for 29 years. Young Eddie MacDonald, long before the present emergence of the modern era of 13-year olds wielding $40,000.00 Super Late Models around today's short tracks, was getting laps in at the fast 1/3 mile Lee track, before he could even race in a division at the Speedway.

Eddie MacDonald has gone on to win just about every major regional Late Model race, including championship efforts in the NASCAR K&N Series, the Oxford 250 (twice), Bond Auto ACT Invitational at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway (twice), Thunder Road's famous Milk Bowl, and recently he swept the triple 100 lap features in a very competitive field at the World Series of Asphalt Racing at New Smyrna Speedway.

"Eddie Mac" carries the moniker "the Outlaw", a well-deserved nick-name, as the likeable, smoother-than-silk driver, who doesn't have the appearance of a nasty outlaw type, but his race day mission is intense, professional, and he races smart, and with respect. The Hancock Electric-Grimm team pays attention to detail, led by long-time crew chief, Rollie Lachance.

Director of Competition for ACT, Dean Gallison, said, "They are like bees hovering around a nest as far as work ethic. When they hit the track they can put a sting on any competition. They pay no attention to what other teams are doing, they are not afraid to try different combinations during a typical race day. But when the racing is for real, they seem to always have things sorted out for that particular track and race. I think the "Outlaw" handle they seem to have gotten is because they don't race for points or championships, they race to win—every time. And they certainly are getting that done. When you know Eddie and Rollie are in town, best bring your "A" game if you want to beat them."

MacDonald will face the best ACT has to offer on opening day 2015 at this home track. Starting with the Milk Bowl last October, the non-ACT Fall Brawl in November, and the New Smyrna Speedway triple wins, the Freddy Petersen owned team is 5 in a row on top of the podium. A follow up win at Lee would set a Late Model standard unlike any other in the long 30 year history of ACT. Past glories went to drivers like Dion, Crouch, Cabana, Hanley, Cyr, and Hoar. They have high race pedigrees, but none has ever strung 6 major events together in a row. Teams like Joey Polewarczyk, Jr., Hudson, NH; Wayne Helliwell, Jr., Dover, NH; Alex Labbe, St. Albert, QC; former NH Governor Cup winner Jimmy Hebert, Williamstown, VT; and dozens more will try and stop the "Outlaw" at Lee USA, thisApril 12th.

L'entre-deux saisons n'a laissé aucun répit aux équipiers qui se sont afférés à potentialiser leur expertise ainsi qu'à la recherche et au développement de stratégies et réglages permettant de rester compétitifs.

DIRTcar Racing officials working with county, state executives on 2016 and beyond

CONCORD, N.C. – March 3, 2015 – As the 2015 racing season is kicking off around the country this spring, DIRTcar Racing is fully engaged in preparations for the 44th running of NAPA Auto Parts Super DIRT Week on Oct. 7-11, 2015, at the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse, N.Y.

Thousands of fans from across the United States and Canada are expected to return once again to the Moody Mile, with less than 30 reserved camping spaces remaining for what's quickly become known as Racing's Biggest Party each October.

DIRTcar officials also followed Tuesday night's presentation by Onondaga County Executive Joanie Mahoney and her plans for the fairgrounds in 2016 and beyond. DIRTcar is eager to work with New York State and Onondaga County on the Empire State's biggest annual week of racing, and improvements to the fairgrounds in the future.

"We are certainly excited to see New York State and Onondaga County considering improvements to the New York State Fairgrounds," DIRTcar Racing CEO Brian Carter said. "NAPA Super DIRT Week has generations of history and tradition for DIRTcar Racing fans, improving the fairgrounds would ensure that coming generations could share in that tradition, too."

Waterbury, VT – The American Canadian Tour (ACT) announced the appointment of Michael Stridsberg of Berlin, VT as the new Media Director for both the US touring series and Thunder Road International Speedbowl. He will replace Nick Bigelow who has handled numerous duties for the two organizations since his graduation from college in 2009. Bigelow studied engineering, and has taken a position with New England Wire Technologies in Lisbon, NH, a developer of wire products.


"Nick has provided ACT and Thunder Road with an outstanding foundation in modernizing our media department, web sites, and handicapping system. His passion was statistics, and he leaves with all ACT records in good order. He handled the majority of the track day duties as head scorer for our companies. His conscientious efforts will be missed," said Tom Curley, President of the American Canadian Tour, Ltd.


Stridsberg and his family have been around the race business for many years. He has worked the Thunder Road race day pits for the past few years, is familiar with handicapping, and has been a correspondent for Vermont Motorsports Magazine, helping to chronicle various stories and results from races throughout the region. He also will take on the new duty of electronic scoring for both ACT and Thunder Road events.


"We were pleased to have Michael available on such short notice, and especially for his willingness to join our staff full time with the 2015 season just about upon us. This means we should be in excellent shape going forward. Michael has a keen interest regarding many facets of our short track needs, and we are confident that ACT can continue to set high media and internal race day standards throughout the coming season," said Darla Hartt, Vice-President of ACT, and General Manager of Thunder Road.


"This is a great opportunity for me to be involved full time with the ACT-Thunder Road team. The timing for me could not have been better and I can't wait to get started next week. Simply working at Thunder Road on race days was a dream come true, and I'm honored to now be an even bigger part of the team. I am familiar with a lot of the demands required working at ACT and Thunder Road, although filling Nick's (Bigelow) shoes, with all the duties he took on will certainly present a huge challenge. I feel I am up for doing the job for the media and competitors and am looking forward to getting started," said Stridsberg.


The American Canadian Tour opens its 30th season of sanctioning short track Late Model racing throughout the Northeastern United States, and province of Quebec. The traditional New Hampshire Governor's Cup 150 will take place at the Lee USA Speedway in Lee, NH on Sunday, April 12, 2015. A power packed field is expected to kick off the new season for ACT US, which will be highlighted by 17 point and special events throughout New England, New York, and Quebec. The ACT Quebec Serie will have an ambitious 14 race series, traveling throughout tracks in Quebec, New York and New England.

CHARLOTTE, NC (March 3) – The Pro All Stars Series (PASS) South Super Late Models are prepped and ready to go as the series prepares to kick off its 10th anniversary season this Saturday afternoon at Dillon Motor Speedway.  For the fourth time in the last seven years, the South Carolina Clash at Dillon Motor Speedway will be the first race of 15 in a season that stretches through November for the PASS South Super Late Models and PASS Pro Late Models.

            Dillon Motor Speedway's 4/10 mile, egg-shaped layout always presents a tough challenge to PASS competitors, but has provided many memorable finishes.  In 2013, Austin Theriault used lapped traffic to his advantage to take the lead from Preston Peltier in the final corner and win in the closest finish in PASS South history.  And, last year, Daniel Hemric passed Cole Timm with a handful of laps to go to take his first ever South Carolina Clash win.

            After a stellar season in 2014, Timm comes back to Dillon looking for redemption and, not only as a favorite for the win, but as a seasoned veteran seeking his first championship.  Likewise, last year's PASS South Super Late Model champion, Tyler Church, who has always ran well at Dillon, hopes to capture his first series win since taking the checkered flag at Ace Speedway last May.

            But, a new crop of championship contenders have emerged in 2015 hopiing to start their seasons off with a win in the South Carolina Clash.  Trevor Noles returns for his second season driving Super Late Models for Coulter Motorsports.  Noles closed out 2014 with his first career PASS South win in the Mason Dixon Meltdown at Southern National Motorsports Park.  Jody Measamer's Aquavapor-sponsored #98 also returns looking to build on several strong runs over the last two seasons.  However, Measamer would like to avoid last year's exciting start at Dillon which saw him tumble several times down the frontstretch in a grinding multi-car crash. And, Californian Zane Smith, will be back in 2015, but with a new team, driving for Gary Crooks Racing out of Mooresville, NC.  Smith has already had a strong start to the year, capturing the Speedweeks title at New Smyrna Speedway in February.

            Woodman Racing will be back with another dual threat, but will be competing for a championship for the first time since 2013. Tate Fogleman joins Woodman Racing in 2015 hoping to better his best career finish of 3rd from a year ago at Southern National Motorsports Park.  Woodman's second entry will once again have a number of drivers behind the wheel, with PASS North standout Joey Doiron piloting the car at Dillon as well as the next two PASS South races at Anderson Motor Speedway and Hickory Motor Speedway.

            But, with Dillon Motor Speedway's challenging layout a veteran might have the best opportunity for a win.  Two-time All Pro Series champion and multi-time Dillon Motor Speedway track champion, Hal Goodson, makes his return to PASS for the first time in a number of years.  In 2010, Goodson scored his best career PASS South Super Late Model finish, coming home second to Ryan Blaney at Dillon in the South Carolina Clash.  And, western North Carolina veteran Jimmy Doyle looks to start off strong at Dillon as he prepares to make a full out assault on the championship in 2015.

            The PASS Pro Late Models will also kickoff their season Saturday at Dillon.  Last year's champion Walker Yates, along with Nick Robinson, are making the move up to Super Late Models, which opens up this year's race for the championship.  Zachary Dabbs returns to defend his win last year at Dillon, as well as the leading winner from a year ago, Kodie Conner.  Newcomers this year include Wesley Noles, who will be driving as a teammate to his brother, Trevor, with Coulter Motorsports and Georgia's Chandler Smith.  Smith makes the move to the PASS Pro Late Model division from the Bandolero ranks and will be racing in a close partnership with Cole Timm and his dad, Murray.

The 2015 season is just around the corner and will begin on Saturday, March 7 with the 10th Annual South Carolina Clash at Dillon Motor Speedway with rotating practice starting at Noon, followed by qualifying at 3:30 PM, and feature racing at 5 PM for the PASS South Super Late Models, PASS Pro Late Models, Challengers/Chargers, and Legends.  Please go to ProAllStarsSeries.com for entry forms and the complete weekend schedule.

WEST HAVEN, VT – Stock car racing's youth movement has a new home in Rutland County, as Devil's Bowl Speedway has announced the formation of the new Young Guns division.  The new class, sponsored by NEK Trophy, will utilize the same rules used in the track's Portland Glass Mini Stock division and will offer supervised safety and driving instructions and real on-track racing experience for drivers age 10-14.

The Young Guns division has been created after three years of research and discussion with parties in the racing industry and beyond.  After receiving requests from several local families to consider a youth racing division, Devil's Bowl Speedway owners Mike and Alayne Bruno got hands-on experience when their own son, who was 10 years old at the time, raced with a similar division in New Hampshire.

The Brunos have since worked closely with insurance regulators and Vermont government officials to create a structured program that allows young racers to compete in a safe, controlled environment.  Mandatory "school" sessions will be held at the track, and all aspiring Young Guns drivers must pass safety procedure and car control tests before being approved for competition.

"We have wanted a division like the Young Guns for a while, but all the pieces needed to be in the right place," Alayne Bruno said.  "We wanted to see this division from the viewpoint of the parents first, and then we went to work with the State of Vermont to get the proper approval."

Devil's Bowl Speedway officials took part in several hearings at the Vermont State House in Montpelier regarding lowering the legal age limit in Vermont race track pit areas to 10 years old.

"We approached the State from the position that we're trying to build the interest in our sport from an early age, and we were able to run a successful test race in September 2013," Mike Bruno said.  "The lawmakers were receptive and even noted that kids are allowed to take hunter's safety courses and carry firearms in the woods at age 10.  The bill was passed and took effect on July 1, 2014, but even then we still felt that we needed to take our time and get the work done behind the scenes before we started racing."

Naples, ME (3/2/15) - The Easter Bunny 150 has been a marquee Pro All Stars Series (PASS) event since its inception in 2006.  The event has brought the top short track talents from North, South and everywhere in between to the historic Hickory Motor Speedway.  Fans and racers alike have relished the ability to race or take in the sights of a prestigious race at the historic facility in Hickory, NC . 

Now, for the first time in the event's 10-year history, fans everywhere will be able to witness the prestige and aura of the Easter Bunny 150 live on Saturday, April 4. 

Officials from PASS and 51 TV, the online video streaming network by Speed51.com, announced today that the 10th Annual Easter Bunny 150 can be viewed live via a streaming broadcast provided by 51 TV. 

51 TV will broadcast all of the race day action from the North Carolina oval live on a pay-per-view basis on Saturday, April 4.  The headline event of the Easter Bunny 150 will be the PASS National Super Late Model championship event.  It will feature the top Super Late Model drivers from PASS North, PASS South and other series from around the country.  The live video broadcast will also include live coverage of the PASS Pro Late Models, Must See Racing Sprint Series, USAC HPD Eastern Midgets and Legends Car feature events. 

"The Easter Bunny 150 is where Super Late Model racing came to life again in the Carolinas back in 2006 and has become one of the premier events in PASS," said PASS President Tom Mayberry.  "This year's event is bigger than ever with the addition of the Must See Sprints and we're glad we can bring it all to our fans across North America thanks to 51 TV.  51 TV's coverage is by far and away the best in the business and we're glad to partner with them." 

51 TV will utilize its signature broadcast style to the Easter Bunny 150, which features multiple moving and static camera angles, a live at-track broadcast team with pit reporters and a network-style graphics package.

For the first time ever, the Easter Bunny 150 weekend will expand to two days, beginning on Friday afternoon, April 3 with practice for the PASS Super Late Models, Must See Sprint Cars and support divisions and will be followed by twin 25 lap qualifying races for the Must See Racing Sprint Cars and features for the PASS Pro Late Models and Legends Cars.   

Then, with the 51 TV cameras live on Saturday, April 4, the PASS Super Late Models will compete in the 10th Annual Easter Bunny 150 along with the 40 lap "Southern Showdown" for the Must See Racing Sprint Cars and features for the PASS Pro Late Models, USAC HPD Eastern Midgets and Legends.  All events can be seen live through Speed51.com.
