GEN-3 Electrical SportsMods, presented by OMRS join the Friday night party in Central Ontario. The 32nd annual B&G Towing and Recovery Autumn Colours Classic will provide the stage for the Super Bowl of Stock Car Racing.
Even with Glenn Morris, John Baker Jr., Ethan Thompson, Rick Warnes and Chad Strawn in a logjam at the top of the 2025-point standings, there in still room for a few positions to change hands in the overall running order. Group spokesperson and OMRS official Rick Warnes says every team is looking forward to this weekend's season finale at Peterborough Speedway.
"We've had some impressive showings in this year's events," said Warnes. "The biggest gap in the championship chase is less that 20 points. That'll produce some close racing throughout the field with the outcome unlikely to be decided until the final lap of Friday night's main event. That's the type of battle we were hoping to see when we switched to the SportsMods template at the start of the year."
Victory lane at the Autumn Colours Classic will always be a special place for Rick Warnes. During the 2023 edition of the Super Bowl of Stock Car Racing, he parked his No. 90 machine in the winner's circle for the first time in a career that spanned more than 4 decades in the sport.

With a history spanning more than 3 decades, the annual Autumn Colours Classic at Peterborough Speedway has earned a well-deserved reputation as a provincial motorsports showcase. This year's edition of the Super Bowl of Stock Car Racing – with Courtice, Ontario's B&G Towing and Recovery as the title sponsor – takes centre stage from October 10th to 12th in the heart of cottage country.
Every track and travelling series in the province will be well represented in the Autumn Colours' starting line-up. Owen Sound, Ontario's Wally Wilson would be a prime example. After scoring his first career OSCAAR Modified win at Peterborough Speedway in 2024, the driver of the No. 69 machine captured the 2025 track championship at Sunset Speedway and finished 3rd in the point standings at Delaware Speedway. This will be his 10th run in the season ending Central Ontario finale, where he finished 3rd last year.
Wally Wilson has a background with the Outlaw Midgets and that group will return this year for another kick at the can. Jessica James will make her 9th start and has some impressive stats on her resume. The Stirling, Ontario racer has trophies from 4 wins (2016-2017 and 2021-2022) in her racing hardware collection. Orillia, Ontario's Dave Inglis has raced with the Outlaw Midgets for 7 seasons. His best finish in the group's headliner was last year's 4th place effort. Jason Metcalfe comes into his Autumn Colours Classic run on the strength of a solid 2025 season. A year ago, the driver of the No. 29 – who hails from Whitby, Ontario – scored both the race win and club point championship.
A former racer with what is now known as the Ontario Sportsman Series, Ollie Ferguson moved into the Peterborough Speedway KOD Disposal Late Model ranks in 2025. The talented 15-year-old runner – who calls Lindsay, Ontario home – will pilot his No. 55 machine to a first career start in the Autumn Colours Classic Electric City 167 'A' main.
Check out the pre-race pit party with free hot dogs, presented by KOD Disposal Thursday night at 8:00. After the Friday night race program concludes, Peterborough's own Ty Wilson will entertain behind the main grandstand.
Pit gates open Friday, October 10th at 10:00, with pre-race technical inspection and practice leading into the opening round of qualifying for the Battlefield Equipment Rental Bone Stock, SwitchTire Mini Stock and Jiffy Lube Super Stock fields, along with preliminary action for the OSCAAR Hot Rods & Modifieds and Trailers Plus Ontario Legend Cars. OMRS SportsMods will also conclude the 2025 schedule as part of the opening night line-up.

Central Ontario's biggest motorsports event of the year is just around the corner and the promotional team at Peterborough Speedway is giving racers and teams an opportunity to test their rides before the green flag.
The 32nd annual B&G Towing and Recovery Autumn Colours Classic kicks-off Friday, October 10th and the track will host a pre-race practice session from 11:30 'til 4:00, Sunday, October 5th. Admission is $25 for the driver and $15 for each crew member. With bragging rights and prestige on the line, it's the ideal time to test equipment in a search for the perfect raceday set-up. Track owner and promoter J.P. Josiasse says the test and tune date is great way for teams to put their pieces through their paces and find the quick way around the Peterborough Speedway layout.
"Whether they're a weekly Saturday night regular or a racer in one of the top touring groups, everyone will be looking to add some fresh information to their notebook," said J.P. Josiasse. "With a dozen different divisions and hundreds of talented racers in attendance for the weekend, they'll all be after the special honour that comes with being named an Autumn Colours Classic main event winner."
When it comes to catching all the action of the 32nd annual B&G Towing and Recovery Autumn Colours Classic, smart fans are locking up their plans to be at the track all 3 days. Vacation time has been scheduled and hotel rooms booked. The venue known for Making Memories for Life is the Thanksgiving Weekend place to be.
Advance tickets are available now by selecting the 'buy tickets' option on the track's website. Daily admission passes are also available at the walk ticket window on raceday. Every roll of the dice or toss of a coin has come down to an Autumn Colours Classic run for all the marbles. Trailers Plus Ontario Legend Car Series runners will wrap-up the 2025 schedule at the Super Bowl of Stock Car Racing – October 10th to 12th – at Peterborough Speedway.
With B&G Towing and Recovery coming on board as the weekend's sponsor for the Ontario Legends Series action, racers are looking to gain every possible advantage with each lap on the track. Group official and spokesperson Robin Jongen says it could be an interesting showing for the teams currently in the season championship fight.

"We'll come into the final headline event of the year with Dawson Drimmie and Mitch Wright only 8 points apart for the overall title," said Robin Jongen. "Young upstart and the leading rookie of the year contender Jake Spencer-Walt currently holds-down 3rd place in the standings, with Parker Traves – who had a win at Sunset – and Gibson Baker rounding out the 5 in the overall standings."

Over the 2025 line-up, a total of 40 different teams have scored points on the group's tour. A dozen racers are registered for the JF Enterprises rookie of the year contention. The 40-lap Ontario Legends' finale is scheduled to conclude the 32nd annual Autumn Colours Classic itinerary. Over the weekend, teams will experience varying track conditions as the group's qualifying and main events are run during daytime and evening hours.

When a racer has an open night on their schedule, they do what comes naturally. Load the car into the hauler and head to a nearby racetrack.
Saturday, August 16th Peterborough, Ontario's Kurtis Connell rolled his No. 8 Crate Sprint Car into the team's rig and headed for his hometown track. Even though he'd been there before as a fan and a crew member for friends Jake Sheridan, Kendra Adams and Kelly Balson, it is an asphalt facility and not exactly where you'd expect to find a dirt racecar in the pit area, let alone in Victory Lane. The night's Fan Appreciation event was a great opportunity to meet some fans and provide some dirt track racing education.
"A media rep from the track reached out with an invitation through Facebook messenger and even though we wouldn't be racing, our team thought coming out for the event would be a great idea," said owner and driver Kurtis Connell. "It is always fun to meet the fans and answer the questions they might have about the car. You never know what contacts you can make from a casual conversation at the racetrack."
Connell – along with his fiancée Tori, who shares the team's crew chief duties with Matt Reid – makes the weekly 12-hour round-trip trek from their Peterborough home base to compete every Friday at Ohsweken Speedway on the 6 Nations Reserve near Brantford, Ontario. Their 2025 program also includes selected travelling shows at Brockville and Brighton Speedway. The Ohsweken shows are carried live through GForce TV's You Tube channel.
This year's sponsorship partners include Connell's Construction, Claybar Contracting, DJD Gear & DJD Graphics, Neil Strome Trucking & Bin Service, Crazy Browner Tuned, Atkinson Mechanical and Ryan Hunsinger Racing. The team is also thankful to the crew members, family and friends who help out behind the scenes and at the racetrack.
The driver says he's thankful to Lance Erskine – drives a similarly painted and lettered No. 88 car, Ryan Hunsinger and Ryan Turner – for helping him learn the sport. He's also looking forward to Brighton Speedway's ROCK 107 Labour Classic Sprint Car Extravaganza August 30th and 31st and the 4th annual Northern Crate Sprint Car Nationals – Friday, September 12th – at Ohsweken.

As the regular season winds down, the 2025 championship fights are heating up at Peterborough Speedway.
The Saturday, August 23rd raceday line-up at the venue known for Making Memories for Life includes the home track Battlefield Equipment Rental Bone Stock and KOD Disposal Late Model divisions, plus the Trailers Plus Ontario Legend Car Series and GSR Outlaw Midgets. Reverse and Flagpole Races will be a special attraction, with Kid's Bike Races as the intermission feature. General admission grandstand gates open at 5:00, with the night's first Great Canadian RV green flag at 6:00.
Heading into the second to last weekend of the 2025 regular season, Alex Dallaire holds-down the top spot in the Bone Stock field. Less than a month after his first career feature win, the driver of the No. 46 machine has a 12-point lead over Tegan Stanley. Victoria McLenon, Cory Horne and rookie of the year hopeful Jacob Stavropoulos are 3rd, 4th and 5th in the standings.
In the Late Model ranks, reigning track champion Ryan Kimball is showing the way, with a 27-point cushion over Kelly Balson. Steve Powell, Dan McHattie and Jacob Mercer are next in the running order. Kimball, Balson and McHattie are the only drivers in the top 5 who have scored a main event victory.
The Bone Stock and Late Model divisions are the only classes to have a pair of shots to pad their point totals. They'll be joined by the Mini Stock, Renegade Truck, Super Stock and Junior Late Model teams for the season finale Championship Clash – Saturday, August 30th – for a program that will also include the GEN-3 Electrical OMRS SportsMods and home track Non-Winner's Races.
With a complete line-up of family motorsports entertainment, topped off by some of the best racetrack food options anywhere in the province new this year, Whips & Licks Ice Cream Bar, feature the always popular Kawartha Dairy products, Peterborough Speedway is a great night out for all ages.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Aug. 20, 2025) – NASCAR introduced another innovative national series schedule as the 2026 slates were announced for the NASCAR Cup Series, NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series (formerly NASCAR Xfinity Series) and NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series. New and returning venues highlight next season's schedule, including all three national series competing on the streets at Naval Base Coronado in NASCAR San Diego, NASCAR Championship Weekend homecoming to Homestead-Miami Speedway, the NASCAR All-Star Race moving to Dover Motor Speedway and Cup Series points races returning to Chicagoland Speedway and North Wilkesboro Speedway.

 

"This is a landmark schedule that demonstrates NASCAR's continued innovation with a strong mix of beloved venues and exciting new and returning racetracks for race fans from coast to coast," said Ben Kennedy, EVP, Chief Venue & Racing Innovation Officer. "The 2026 NASCAR national series schedules celebrate our nation's 250th anniversary with NASCAR San Diego, welcome back Cup Series points races to Chicagoland Speedway and North Wilkesboro, takes the NASCAR All-Star Race to the Northeast for the first time and brings the NASCAR Championship back home to Homestead-Miami Speedway."

 

In celebration of the 250th anniversary of the United States Navy, NASCAR will once again make history by hosting a brand-new street race at Naval Base Coronado as one of the many highlights of the 2026 schedule. NASCAR San Diego will be a three-day, full-throttle race weekend with all three national series on June 19-21, 2026. This second-ever Cup Series street race will be broadcast on Prime Video on Sunday, June 21, 2026, and will be the first NASCAR event on an active military base.

 

Along with NASCAR San Diego, two new points race events will be from returning venues — Chicagoland Speedway and North Wilkesboro Speedway. TNT Sports will broadcast both events. For the first time since 2019, NASCAR will return to Chicagoland Speedway for an Independence Day extravaganza (July 4-5), featuring the Cup Series and O'Reilly Auto Parts Series racing just outside the city in Joliet, Ill. This will also mark the debut of the Cup Series' Next Gen race car at the 1.5-mile oval.

 

After three successful years hosting the NASCAR All-Star Race, North Wilkesboro Speedway will host a Cup Series points race for the first time in 30 years on Sunday, July 19. This is a historic moment for one of NASCAR's original racetracks as it returns as a points race three decades after its last, which was won by NASCAR Hall of Famer Jeff Gordon.

 

The 42nd NASCAR All-Star Race will move to Dover Motor Speedway. This will be the first time the All-Star Race has been run on a 1-mile racetrack and hosted at a venue in the Northeast. The O'Reilly Auto Parts Series and CRAFTSMAN Truck Series will complete the weekend for a memorable event at The Monster Mile on May 15-17. The first Cup Series exhibition race of the 2026 season will return to another historic venue, Bowman Gray Stadium, with the Cook Out Clash on Sunday, Feb. 1. Both events will be broadcast by FOX Sports.

 

For the first time since 2019, NASCAR's three national series will crown their champions at Homestead-Miami Speedway. The South Florida racetrack previously hosted the NASCAR Championship from 2002 to 2019. Next season's NASCAR Championship Weekend will be held on Nov. 6-8, 2026.

 

"NASCAR is dedicated to building a bold and forward-thinking schedule each year—one that brings innovation to all three national series while celebrating the legendary tracks our fans have come to love," said Jusan Hamilton, Managing Director of Competition Operations. "With new events in San Diego, Chicagoland and St. Petersburg, alongside our most iconic venues, the 2026 NASCAR schedule delivers a powerful mix of new experiences and cherished traditions for race fans. This dynamic blend also creates one of the most unique and challenging schedules for competitors in all of motorsports."

 

As the most noted tradition in NASCAR, the regular season will officially commence with the 68th running of the DAYTONA 500 on Sunday, Feb. 15, live on FOX. The next 12 Cup Series events will air on FOX Sports platforms, including Darlington Raceway on a new spring date (Sunday, March 22), Texas Motor Speedway on Cinco de Mayo Weekend (Sunday, May 3), iconic road course Watkins Glen International on Mother's Day (Sunday, May 10), and culminating with the NASCAR All-Star Race at Dover (Sunday, May 17).

 

Prime Video returns for its five-race Cup Series broadcast window starting with the Coca-Cola 600 from Charlotte Motor Speedway (Sunday, May 24) followed by Nashville Superspeedway (Sunday, May 31), Michigan International Speedway (Sunday, June 7), Pocono Raceway (Sunday, June 14) and concluding with the second Cup Series street race in NASCAR history, NASCAR San Diego (Sunday, June 21).

 

TNT Sports will take the reins of the Cup Series broadcasts with the official start of the In-Season Challenge at Sonoma Raceway (Sunday, June 28). The In-Season Challenge events will take place throughout the entirety of the five-race TNT Sports portion of the season with races at Chicagoland Speedway (Sunday, July 5), EchoPark Speedway (Sunday, July 12), North Wilkesboro Speedway (Sunday, July 19) and culminating with the $1 million challenge winner being crowned on the bricks at Indianapolis Motor Speedway for a memorable race on the famed oval in the Brickyard 400 (Sunday, July 26).

 

On Sunday, Aug. 9, NASCAR returns to Iowa Speedway, where Cup Series coverage shifts to NBC and USA Network for the last 14 races, including the final stretch of regular-season races followed by Saturday night racing at Richmond Raceway (Saturday, Aug. 15), New Hampshire Motor Speedway (Sunday, Aug. 23), and the highly anticipated Coke Zero Sugar 400 regular-season finale at Daytona International Speedway (Saturday, Aug. 29).

The Round of 16 in the Cup Series Playoffs begins with the crown jewel Cook Out Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway (Sunday, Sept. 6) followed by World Wide Technology Raceway for the second consecutive playoff year (Sunday, Sept. 13), and concluding with the Bristol Motor Speedway Night Race (Saturday, Sept. 19).

 

After six successful years hosting the NASCAR Championship, Phoenix Raceway returns to the Round of 8 with a berth in the championship on the line on Sunday, Oct. 18, followed by Talladega Superspeedway (Sunday, Oct. 25) and Martinsville Speedway (Sunday, Nov. 1) to set the Championship 4 competing for the title at Homestead-Miami Speedway (Sunday, Nov. 8).

 

The O'Reilly Auto Parts Series and CRAFTSMAN Truck Series have exciting additions to their schedules, including both series returning to Rockingham Speedway over Easter weekend (April 3-4) for the second consecutive year.

The CRAFTSMAN Truck Series will compete in its first two street races in the 30-plus year history of the series as it debuts at the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg (Saturday, Feb. 28) and NASCAR San Diego (Friday, June 19). The CRAFTSMAN Truck Series will be the feature event at Saturday's Grand Prix of St. Petersburg following NTT IndyCar Series qualifying for their season-opening race weekend. This will be the first street race in CRAFTSMAN Truck Series history.

 

Additional highlights in the 2026 NASCAR national series schedules include:

 

  • Kansas Speedway (Sunday, Sept. 27) will shift to the opening race of the Cup Series Round of 12. Las Vegas Motor Speedway (Sunday, Oct. 4) will move to the second race of the round followed by the Charlotte ROVAL elimination race  (Sunday, Oct. 11).

 

  • Lime Rock Park, one of the oldest continuously operating road racing circuits in the United States, will return to host its second CRAFTSMAN Truck Series race (Saturday, July 11).

 

  • For the fifth consecutive season, the CRAFTSMAN Truck Series will return to exciting Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park (Friday, July 24) located 10 miles from downtown Indianapolis.

 

  • Bristol Motor Speedway (Thursday, Sept. 17) will open the CRAFTSMAN Truck Series Playoffs, along with Kansas Speedway (Saturday, Sept. 26) and Charlotte ROVAL (Friday, Oct. 9) in the Round of 10.

FOX Sports, Prime Video, TNT Sports and NBC Sports will broadcast the 2026 Cup Series season. The CW will carry the entire O'Reilly Auto Parts Series season and FOX Sports will be home to the CRAFTSMAN Truck Series. Networks and start times will be announced at a later date.
