Waterbury, VT— The American Canadian Tour heads to Oxford Plains Speedway in Oxford, ME for the Oxford 150 next Sunday, May 20. For most teams, it serves as the fourth point counting event on the American Canadian Tour series and the last long distance event before the legendary Oxford 250. For a few, it is a return home.

Turner, ME’s Shawn Martin will be making the trip to Oxford in an effort to claim his third ACT victory. His resume at Oxford Plains Speedway stands out with two ACT victories, 11 weekly feature wins, and a 2004 Track Championship.  Ricky Rolfe of Albany Township, ME is a multi-time champion of Oxford Plains Speedway and also owns two ACT victories at the track, most recently in 2008.

Martin and Rolfe will look to fend off Vermonter Brian Hoar of Williston, as well as newly crowned point leader Wayne Helliwell, Jr. of Dover, NH and fellow New Hampshire native Joey Polewarczyk, Jr. of Hudson. Hoar has finished in the top five in every ACT point counting event at Oxford Plains Speedway since October of 2009. Helliwell claimed his first ACT win at Devil’s Bowl Speedway last Sunday, May 6. He will look to continue the blistering pace he has set on the 2012 season so far, finishing in the top two in every event thus far, but hometown heroes Martin and Rolfe do have something point leaders Hoar and Helliwell do not: A win at Oxford.

Polewarczyk, however, has not one but two wins at Oxford Plains Speedway and rides third overall on the tour coming into the event. Polewarczyk nearly stripped Helliwell of his first ever win on the ACT Tour at Devil’s Bowl Speedway, and looks poised for a big win in Oxford.  The Hudson “hotshoe” also has a third place finish in the prestigious TD Bank Oxford 250.

The invasion begins on Sunday, May 20 at Oxford Plains Speedway in Oxford, ME.  Post time 1:00pm.
