Après un dur hiver et un printemps qui s'éternise, l'Autodrome Chaudière débutesa saison 2014 SAMEDI LE 17 MAI À COMPTER DE 17H30, dans le cadre du FRAMECO PASS 150. C'est sous le signe de l'enthousiasme et de la diversité que les dirigeants de l'Autodrome lance leur programmation 2014.
En ce samedi 17 mai, les amateurs en auront plein la vue avec plus de 100 voitures en piste dans 5 catégories différentes.
A leur 4ième saison en sol québécois, spécifiquement à l'Autodrome Chaudière, lesvoitures Super Late de la Série Pass North feront les frais d'une finale de 150 tours lors de cette 1ière tranche de la triple couronne. Plusieurs pilotes québécois adhèrent à cette prestigieuse série et c'est plus d'une douzaine que nous verront à l'œuvre contre les meilleurs pilotes américains.
Du côté canadien, Patrick Laperle, vainqueur de la première tranche de la triple couronne en 2913, sera en piste avec les Latulippe, Theetge, Gingras, Allard,Roberge, Labbé, Lavoie, St-Gelais, Dany Poulin. Jacques Poulin et Jean Duchesneau en seront à leur début dans cette série qui prend de plus en plus d'ampleur au Québec. D'autres québécois pourraient se joindre au groupe comme les Cliche, Déry, Michaud, Guénette, Goulet.
Du côté américain, les Mike et Ben Rowe, les Johnny et Cassius Clark, les Doiron, Shaw, Benjamin, Gerry, Luce et autres ont confirmé leur présence.
Leur présence à trois reprises à l'Autodrome Chaudière suscite un intérêt marqué auprès des amateurs de stock car de haut calibre dû à la tenue du format d'une TRIPLE COURONNE.
Ceux qui ont vu à l'œuvre les pilotes de la série PASS à Vallée-Jonction dans le passé ont une idée à l'avance de l'intensité du spectacle que leur offrent les pilotes de cette série.
La Série Sportsman Québec ouvre sa saison à Vallée et déjà c'est 28 inscrits que nous verront évoluer durant la soirée avec un mélange de leurs meilleurs pilotes et des nouvelles recrues. De plus vous aurez l'occasion de voir pour la première fois au Québec les mini-sportsman…la relève de demain.
Pour les classes locales, comme l'Autodrome Chaudière suscite la faveur générale,c'est plus de 50 voitures qui seront en piste en qualifications et finales dans les classes Kamikaze ORICOM INTERNET, Limité FM 101.5 et Sport Compacte ORICOM INTERNET.

Vallée Jonction, le 11 mai 2014 – Des essais libres étaient cédulés par les dirigeants de l'Autodrome Chaudière pour samedi dernier, le 10 mai. Devant des prévisions météorologiques des plus pessimistes, la direction a décidé de remettre le tout au lendemain, le dimanche de la fête des mères, tous en conviendront, la date la moins propice de tout le calendrier estival pour tenir un événement motorisé ! Mais l'occasion était quand même là pour ceux qui ont voulu s'en prévaloir.
Quoiqu'il en soit, quelques pilotes de l'ASCVQ on répondu à l'appel, certains sans voitures, et d'autres avec leurs bolides. Ces derniers on pu faire des essais et faire inspecter leurs bolides par le chef inspecteur Ghislain Lecours qui était sur les lieux.
Jocelyn Laliberté, de St-Roch de l'Achigan et Patrick Verner de St-Louis de France étaient de ceux qui n'étaient pas «venus à pieds» et qui ont pu s'en donner à cœur-joie sur l'ovale de l'Autodrome Chaudière de Vallée Jonction, en Beauce.

Parmi les organisations qui avaient répondu à l'appel, mentionnons les classes locales de l'Autodrome Chaudière, les Procam Super Truck ACT, ainsi que les nouveaux petits bolides «Mini-Sportsman» qui ont accompagné leurs grands frères, les Sportsman Québec Lucas Oil d'André Poulin. Chacune des divisions avaient leurs temps de pratiques cédulés sur un horaire bien préparé.
Pour en revenir aux pilotes de l'ASCVQ, mentionnons que les pistes visitées au cours de la prochaine saison estivale seront l'ASE de St-Eustache, Riverside Speedway de Ste-Croix de Lotbinière, l'Autodrome Chaudière en Beauce, l'Autodrome St-Félicien au Lac St-Jean, et le Capital City Speedway d'Ottawa, avec une possibilité d'une course à SANAIR en fin de saison.
C'est avec enthousiasme que la direction et les équipes de course de l'ASCVQ se préparent pour leur saison 2014 dont le premier événement aura lieu à l'Autodrome St-Eustache, le 7 juin prochain.

Waterbury, VT –The American Canadian Tour (ACT) will head for one of their favorite tracks, Airborne Speedway, on Saturday, May 17, 2014. The fast, progressively banked one-half mile speedplant has seen some of the most competitive events in the long history of ACT racing.
"It's just one of those tracks that you love to race at. Of course, I love it since I won the $25,000 in the ACT International last year. This race will be different than the International with the three segments, or the 200-lap traditional Fall Foliage that we run at Airborne. It is longer in length than most of our short tracks, but it is also faster and things can happen pretty quickly," said Joey Polewarczyk, Jr. from Hudson, New Hampshire. Pole currently sits in third place, just 16 points from leading the points race.
Over 30 of the top Late Model race teams in the Northeastern US and Quebec are expected to attend the first of three stops at Airborne in 2014. "The track has added the ACT Late Models to some of their weekly shows in 2014. This is really great news for ACT and Late Model racing in our region. I remember when we started with this division in the early 1990's we had some really talented teams from the Plattsburgh area. Joe Thomas, Danny Bridges, Robin and Bucko Branham, Fred Lagoy, and Billy Fountain were just a few names that got things started at Airborne," said Tom Curley, President of ACT and former owner of Airborne from 1990 until 2004.
The track is fast and smooth with two entirely different challenges for teams at each end of the straight-a-ways. "That makes it a lot of fun. It certainly never is boring at Airborne," said 8-time Airborne ACT feature winner Brian Hoar from Williston, VT. This will be the final tune up for many ACT teams who will enter the $25,000.00 to win International 300 on July 20, 2014.
Airborne's J&S Steele Sportsman Modified division, the popular Renegades and Mini Modifieds will join the ACT Late Models on Saturday, May 17, 2014.
Post time is 5:00pm. Admission for adults is just fifteen dollars ($15.00) in advance, purchased on the Airborne website, and eighteen ($18.00) day of event. Kids under 13 years old are free. Grandstand gates will open at 3pm.

Waterbury, VT – The American Canadian Tour will reach a milestone when the Late Model Tour rolls into Airborne Speedway in Plattsburgh, NY next Sunday, May 17. It will be the 250th point counting event for the ACT Late Models, which began touring back in 1992. Also with the completion of the Airborne event, the American Canadian Tour will have paid out over $5.5 Million to the Late Model teams.
Over the past 23 seasons and now 249 events, the Late Models have moved from the shadows of the former ACT Pro Stocks, to the premier stock car touring series in the Northeast.
The first ever ACT Late Model event was held at Sanair Super Speedway in St-Pie, QC on April 26, 1992. Norm Andrews of Northfield, VT bested the 26 car field in the 25 lap event. He was the first of what has now become 69 different ACT Late Model feature winners.
Dave Whitcomb won the 1992 ACT Late Model Championship. There have been seven different champions since: Brian Hoar (8), Jean-Paul Cyr (7), Wayne Helliwell, Jr. (2), Lance Ferno, Pete Fecteau , Phil Scott and Patrick Laperle.
Sanair also hosted another milestone event in the 50th ACT Late Model event ever. Joey Laquerre of East Montpelier, VT claimed his first career ACT win in the 100 lap event on August 16, 1998.
Canaan Fair Speedway in Canaan, NH hosted the 100th ACT Late Model event on June 23, 2002. Ken Dufour of Bethlehem, NH scored his second career win in the event.
The 150th race was claimed by seven-time ACT Champion Jean-Paul Cyr of Milton, VT. He took the win on April 30, 2006 at Thunder Road in Barre, VT, which has hosted a record 65 of the 249 ACT Late Model Tour events to date.
On May 16, 2010, Eddie MacDonald of Rowley, MA earned his second career ACT win in the 200th event. His win came at Oxford Plains Speedway in Oxford, ME.
Over the past 249 events, the ACT Late Models have visited 23 different tracks in 8 different states and provinces. A total of 687 different drivers have attempted to qualify for at least one of the events and 540 of them have taken the green flag in a feature. Of those 540 different drivers, 158 have led at least one lap, 158 have a top five and 244 have a top ten. The 249 events have consisted of 31,891 laps for 11,694 miles and averaged 29.1 starters per event. There have been 1,110 lead changes and 1,647 cautions. The combined time for the 249 events is 10 days, 14 hours, 4 minutes and 57 seconds.
The 250th ACT Late Model event will be held at Airborne Speedway in Plattsburgh, NY on Sunday, May 17. It will be the third event of the 2014 ACT schedule. Post time is 5:00pm.

Nous pourrons aussi évaluer si les Steve Bernard #54, Paine #99 et Nadeau #94 ainsi que tous ceux qui étaient aussi de la pratique de la semaine dernière auront une longueur d'avance sur ces derniers ! Lors des essais, on a pu voir les frères Bernier se suivent de bien près, reverrons-nous cette scène cette saison ?

S'ajoutera à tous ceux dont la voiture était déjà prête la semaine passée, Kaven Poliquin #49 qui a plus qu'un bolide à préparer ayant en sa possession ni plus ni moins que les deux dernières autos de Mario Clair (2012, 2013) avec la mécanique de Steve Bernier ! De plus, Patrice Dumouchel #3D qui manquait à l'appel samedi dernier devrait être de la partie cette fois-ci. Lors de la dernière course, Dany Gagné #90 l'a emporté, mais plusieurs de ses poursuivants ont fait des temps similaires et Guy Ouellette #32 a eu le meilleur temps en course. Gagné devra mettre le paquet pour répéter son exploit.
Prostock
Était absent lors de la pratique notre champion de l'an passé François Adam, mais il a annoncé sa présence au 30 tours de ce vendredi. Le vice-champion 2013, Stéphane Lemire en a profité pour accomplir le meilleur temps des pratiques (23,435 sec). Frédéric Lussier #22 aussi présent aux pratiques est un ancien Sportsman de retour en Prostock. Il donnera du tonus à la catégorie cette année.
Sport Compact
15 tours s'offrent aux pilotes de Sport Compact sûrement échaudés par la victoire du jeune Alexis Charbonneau #49. Le champion et le vice-champion de l'année dernière, Guillaume Daoust #24 et Marc Dagenais #25, en finissant deuxième et quatrième aux 50 tours de la semaine passée nous démontrent qu'ils n'ont pas l'intention de se tenir bien loin des honneurs cette année.
Bref, il y a encore des nouveaux à découvrir, des vétérans à admirer et des jeunes à faire leur progression, ce qu'on apprécie tous !

WEST HAVEN, VT – Devil's Bowl Speedway and the American-Canadian Tour have rescheduled the 101.5 The Fox Spring Green 114 stock car event, postponed last weekend, to Father's Day on Sunday, June 15. The Spring Green will also include regular championship events for the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Bond Auto Parts Modifieds, Renegade, Central Vermont Motorcycles Mini Stocks, and SK Lights.
The Spring Green is now scheduled to be the halfway point of the ACT Late Model Tour championship season and will set up the stretch drive into the summer. Wayne Helliwell, Jr., of Dover, N.H., has a chance to make history if he can win the event; Helliwell has three consecutive ACT wins at the track dating back to 2012 and would become the first driver to ever win four-straight at a single speedway.
The 2014 Devil's Bowl Speedway season will open on a Friday night for the first time ever, as Whelen Engineering and Mobil 1 present the lid-lifter on Friday, May 16 at 7:00 p.m. The event features the Modified, Late Model, Mini Stock, and SK Light divisions, and honors its hometown fans with free general admission for residents of Fair Haven, VT and West Haven, VT who present valid identification. Regular general admission is $12 for adults, $10 for seniors (age 62+), and free for kids age 12 and under.

West Haven, VT – A make-up date for the ACT Spring Green 114 has been announced by Devil's Bowl Speedway Management. The event will now be held on Father's Day, Sunday, June 15. The event was originally scheduled for last Sunday, May 4 but postponed due to saturated grounds and continuing rainy weather.
The event now becomes the 5th on the nine race 2014 ACT schedule. Current ACT point leader Wayne Helliwell, Jr. will attempt to make history with his fourth straight ACT win at the ½ mile speedway. Momentum continues to build as the upstart Grassroots Racing Series gains speed heading toward the first green flag of its inaugural season at Kawartha Speedway.
Numbers are growing every day, bringing strong car counts to the line in every division. Social media sites are buzzing, as race teams and fans alike can't wait for the action to return to the popular 3/8th mile oval at Fraserville, Ontario. Series organizer and promoter Andrew McFadden says it's amazing to see all the long hours and hard work finally coming to fruition.
"I'd be lying if I said there haven't been some sleepless nights over the past few months, but we're starting to see some light at the end of the tunnel," said McFadden with a smile. "The plan is coming together quite nicely and I'm really looking forward to seeing what happens when we swing open the gates for the practice session and the first point paying event."
McFadden and his team have been putting together a strong group of sponsors to take their effort to the next level. The latest partner to come to the table is Belleville, Ontario's Associated Muffler & Brake, who will supply trophies to feature race winners throughout the 8 event Grassroots Racing Series schedule. Associated Muffler owner Tim Tomlinson says he was impressed with McFadden's 'Cinderella' story and is thrilled to get in on the ground floor of this exciting motorsports venture.
"We've sponsored some local racers over the years, but the chance to get involved with a new series at one of the finest motorsports venues in the province is a tremendous experience," admitted Tomlinson. "The guys who work here and even our customer base are big supporters of short track racing. We've had some good word of mouth advertising going on since we first started putting this deal together. I'm really impressed with the steps Andrew McFadden has taken to bring action back to Kawartha and I hope he's successful for many years to come. The Grassroots Racing Series will hold an open test session - along with the Ontario High School Electronic Vehicle Challenge Event - Friday, May 16thstarting at 10:00. Waterbury, VT – Two-time and defending American Canadian Tour Champion Wayne Helliwell, Jr. of Dover, NH finds himself atop the ACT Standings as the Tour heads into its third event of the season, the Spring Green 114 at Devil's Bowl Speedway this Sunday, May 4. Helliwell is fresh off a $5,000 victory at Thunder Road last weekend and headed to one of his favrite tracks on the ACT schedule, the ½-mile Devil's Bowl Speedway in West Haven, VT.
Helliwell claimed his first career ACT victory during the 2012 running of the Spring Green event at Devil's Bowl. He then scored both ACT wins at the speedway last season, including the Spring Green 113 by a nose over eight-time ACT Champion Brian Hoar. All three wins helped him on his way to back-to-back ACT Championships.
"It definitely puts on a little extra pressure coming into this event winning the last three at Devil's Bowl, but we try to look at each race as a new race and not think about what happened last season," said Helliwell. "We've learned quite a bit about the new tire, new shock and our new car over the last two races and the momentum from the win at Thunder Road helps, but the competition has learned too."
Jimmy Hebert and Joey Polewarczyk, Jr. are right on Helliwell's heels heading into this weekend and both are hungry for their first career titles. Also off to a great start so far this season and sitting inside the top five in the standings are Emily Packard and Ray Parent.
All the stars of the American Canadian Tour will be looking to the Spring Green 114 at Devil's Bowl Speedway as a momentum builder for their 2014 title hopes. Post time this Sunday, May 4 is 1:30pm.

Enduro 200, ce samedi 3 mai à l'Autodrome St-Eustache
Alors que l'action a débuté au courant de la semaine dernière sur la piste d'accélération du complexe sport motorisé des Basses Laurentides, c'est du côté de la piste ovale que les compétitions débuteront samedi prochain, le 3 mai avec la présentation de la traditionnelle course d'endurance de 200 tours de voitures 4-6-8 cylindres de 101 pouces d'empattement et plus.
Nouveauté cette année, alors que l'épreuve Enduro 200 sera disputée en soirée, sous les réflecteurs. Plusieurs pilotes des quatre coins du Québec sont attendus pour se livrer une lutte des plus endiablées alors que les dépassements, les carambolages, les manœuvres spectaculaires et sensations fortes, sauront tenir les amateurs en haleine pendant les 200 tours de cette épreuve devenue épique au fil des ans.
Les puits ouvriront dès 16h30, les essais solos 17h30 et le signal de départ est prévu pour 20h30.
L'admission est de 20$ pour les adultes en «admission générale», tandis que les 13 à 17 ans y seront admis pour 10$ et gratuit pour les enfants de 12 ans et moins si accompagnés d'un adulte.
L'accès dans les puits est de 25$ pour tous les groupes d'âge.
Pour les participants, l'inscription pour la voiture et quatre (4) personnes est de 120$, incluant l'accès dans les puits.

Waterbury, VT –Thunder Road International Speedbowl will open this weekend for the 55th season of championship stock car racing. Billed as the "Nation's Site of Excitement", Thunder Road is known for its close door-banging, "take no prisoners" style of racing action.
The Merchants Bank 150 for the ACT Championship Late Model teams is the featured event this Sunday, but there will be plenty of racing action from the Bond Auto Tigers and Allen Lumber Street Stocks. They will also open their 2014 championship charge.
Seasoned race fans always feel that this event at Thunder Road should give an edge to the track's graduates and regulars. T-Road veterans Jimmy Hebert and Bobby Therrien are former Tiger champions and are now tested and proven ACT drivers. They each won races on the Tour in 2013. Hebert won the 2013 New Hampshire Governor's Cup at Lee USA Speedway and also the 100-mile race at SANAIR Super Speedway in St. Pie, Quebec. Just half-way into his first full season on the ACT, Therrien won the White Mountain Motorsport Park 150 lap event last July.
"The long winter is finally over and things have actually dried out a lot faster than we might have thought they would a couple weeks ago. We are getting a late start cleaning up, but we have scheduled a practice for this Thursday and look forward to seeing all the teams and fans this weekend. After watching the Lee (Lee USA Speedway) opener a week ago, I am really looking forward to the Merchants Bank 150, it should be a thriller," said Promoter of Thunder Road, Tom Curley.
Weekly Thunder Road challenger Cody Blake from Barre, VT said, "I was crewing for my friend Ben Lynch at Lee last weekend, and if we have a race like the Tour had down in New Hampshire, the fans are in for a real opening day treat. I can't wait to get the season started this weekend."
The annual Car Show in downtown Barre will take place on Saturday, April 26, 2014 from 9 till noon. A full afternoon of practice will follow after the popular race car parade from downtown up Quarry Hill to the race track beginning at high noon. Sunday will open with the traditional Class Day celebration when all cars go on parade beginning at 1:00. Qualifying for the 16th annual Merchants Bank 150 will begin at 1:30 on Sunday, April 27, 2014.

PASS Easter Bunny 150 Weather Contingency Update
A full pit area of cars practiced Friday at Hickory Motor Speedway from the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) sanctioned 9th Annual Easter Bunny 150. PASS will make every possible attempt to complete all of the scheduled races on Saturday, April 19. However, if the event has to be postponed due to weather, all of the races will be rescheduled to Sunday, April 20. Main events will start at 3 PM with the 9th Annual Easter Bunny 150 for the PASS Super Late Models going green at approximately 4:15 PM. Once again, though, PASS will make every attempt to get in all the races on Saturday.

Eddie MacDonald's Strategy Leads to ACT Lee Win FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE ACT-041314 Lee, NH – Eddie MacDonald of Rowley, MA claimed the American Canadian Tour win in the New Hampshire Governor's Cup 150 at Lee USA Speedway (Lee, NH) on Sunday, April 13. MacDonald used strategy to claim his first career ACT win at Lee in his ninth start at the 3/8ths mile speedway. It was his fifth career ACT Late Model win. MacDonald went from sixth to first in his heat race to claim the win and the pole in the feature with his +5 in ACT's plus/minus handicap system. MacDonald faded back early from the drop of the green. He fell as far as 10th and appeared to ride for the majority of the event. Ray Parent got around Ben Lynch on lap four to take over the lead. He was quickly reeled in by Quebec's Stephane Descoste. The two battled with Descoste finally getting the advantage on lap 34. Descoste would hold the lead until the first caution flag flew for a Brian Hoar spin on lap 63. Parent used the outside lane to his advantage and took the lead on the ensuing restart. After another brief caution for a minor spin on lap 71, it looked like the remainder of the race would go caution free as Parent built a sizable lead. After the 100-lap mark, MacDonald came to life and worked his way back toward the front. He worked his way around Joey Polewarczyk, Jr. and Descoste to get to second but with ten laps to go it didn't look like he had enough time. MacDonald had saved enough tire, however, and with five laps to go he reached Parent's rear bumper while they worked through lap traffic. MacDonald got the outside lane advantage with four laps remaining as they barreled into turn one. Between turns one and two, Parent got loose and slid up the track into MacDonald. Parent tried to save it but spun for the third and final caution of the event. On the final restart, MacDonald held off Polewarczyk to take the win. Wayne Helliwell, Jr. completed the podium, while Alex Labbe and Descoste rounded out the top five. Jimmy Hebert came from dead last on the field (30th) to claim sixth, while Ben Ashline came from 24th to finish 7th in his first event back behind the wheel in a year and a half. Ben Lynch, Bobby Therrien and Rowland Robinson, Jr. all finished in the top ten. The stars of ACT have a weekend off before heading to Thunder Road in Barre, VT for the Merchants Bank 150 on Sunday, April 27. Triple Couronne 358 Modified cet été à l'Autodrome St-Eustache
Récemment, on annonçait la venue de la série 358 Modified pour un
évènement spécial le 19 juillet prochain, à l'Autodrome St-Eustache en
co-promotion avec le vétéran pilote et promoteur américain Mike
Perrotte. Suite à cette annonce, plusieurs amateurs et pilotes de cette
série ont manifestés leur intérêt et ont démontrés un engouement tel,
que la série performera sur le bitume de l'ovale du complexe sport
motorisé des Basses-Laurentides, 3 fois plutôt qu'une.
La ''Canadian Modifieds Triple Crown'' s'amorcera lors du programme
d'ouverture de l'Autodrome St-Eustache le 24 mai, en compagnie de la
série ACT-Québec, NASCAR Sportsman Lucas Oil, NASCAR Sport Compacte,
NASCAR Légendes Modifiées et Challenge 4. La deuxième ronde de cette
triple couronne, sera disputée le samedi 21 juin et la dernière manche
se tiendra le samedi 19 juillet.
Des bourses plus qu'intéressantes sont offertes aux gagnants, entre
$1000.00 et $2000.00 pour des finales entre 30 et 50 tours, et jusqu'à
$250.00 jusqu'à la 20e position. De plus, des négociations vont bons
train, pour l'ajout d'un commanditaire majeur à cette triple couronne,
afin de créer un bonus spécial pour le top 3.'' Je suis très heureux et
fier d'être dans la position d'offrir cette triple couronne aux pilotes
358 Modified. Je suis aussi confiant que la venue de la série saura
augmenter l'intérêt pour ce type de compétition de la part des amateurs
québécois'', de dire Mike Perrotte.
L'engouement atteint un niveau jamais égalé en vue de la prochaine
saison, qui marque le 50e anniversaire de l'Autodrome St-Eustache. Les
programmes prévus sauront en mettre plein la vue aux amateurs et on se
dirige vers une saison des plus excitantes.
C'est un rendez-vous le 24 mai prochain pour l'ouverture de la saison
et déjà ont peut annoncer aux amateurs et pilotes que le prix d'entrée
pour ce super programme, sera fixé à $30.00 admission générale avec
accès aux puits inclus.
