Waterbury, VT – The American-Canadian Tour (ACT) and Bond Auto Parts, Inc. have expanded the recently announced New Champions program for the 2015 season. Among other changes, the Bond Auto Parts New Champions program will now be open to drivers in Série ACT, the Canadian division of ACT. The program will also include three awards for all eligible New Champion drivers in 2015.

The Bond Auto Breakthrough Award has now been added to the 2015 program. Under this award, any New Champion–eligible driver who wins an ACT U.S. or Série ACT event during the 2015 season will receive a $500 bonus. This bonus can be earned once per driver.

Phase two of the program for New Champion contenders is a $2,500 bonus at the 7^th annual Bond ACT Invitational at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, set for Saturday, September 26. $500 will be awarded to each of the top-five finishing New Champion–eligible drivers, regardless of finishing position. Drivers must have competed in a minimum of five ACT-sanctioned events in 2015 prior to the Invitational in order to receive this bonus.

The third phase of the Bond Auto Parts New Champions program will be the $5,000 season-ending point fund. The program will now award points to eligible drivers at both ACT U.S. and Série ACT events, as well as ACT non-point counting events which are open to all drivers. A single combined point standings will be kept. To be eligible for the point fund, which will award payouts to the top five positions, drivers must have attempted to qualify for 100% of the point-counting events on either series.

"The Bond Auto New Champion entitlement is indicative of a sponsor understanding the importance and need of supporting a program for all the racers," American-Canadian Tour President Tom Curley said. "Bond Auto understands racing, and providing the majority of ACT teams and fans with this kind of program is certain to add an element of excitement to the upcoming season."

Bond Auto Parts, Inc. is one of the largest auto parts dealers in the Northeast. The family-owned operation has been in business since 1956 and now has 45 locations throughout Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and New York.

Bond Auto has a longtime association with ACT. In addition to their involvement with the Invitational, they are also the title sponsor for the Tiger Sportsman division at Barre, VT's Thunder Road Speedbowl.

"The ACT footprint really matches up well with our regional footprint of store locations," Bond Auto Parts VP of Marketing Mark Mast stated. "It's exciting to see the New Champions Program brought back from years ago. With a long history of supporting ACT, it felt like a natural fit for Bond Auto to jump on board with this program. Eligibility requirements for the program remain unchanged. Any driver who has not won more than one ACT-sanctioned event prior to the 2015 season, and is approved by ACT, will be eligible. This includes ACT U.S., Série ACT, and special non-point ACT-sanctioned events.

The Bond Auto New Champions program is a revival of the old program from the former ACT Pro Stock Tour. Previous drivers who topped the New Champions standings include former NASCAR Champion Randy LaJoie, former ACT Tour Champion Brad Leighton, Northeast racing legends Joey Kourafas and Dale Shaw, and former ACT standout Derek Lynch.

Veteran driver Derek White has signed with Motorsports Business Management (MBM) principal Carl Long to participate in the remaining rounds of the 2015 NASCAR Xfinity Series. The team will be supported by Grafoid and Braille Battery.

Kahnawake (Canada), April 10, 2015 – The partnership between Derek White and Carl Long is the fruit of many years of discussions, as both shared a common goal of building a NASCAR team capable of competing at the highest level with a partner they had full confidence in. The team will prepare on and supply trackside support for the No. 13 Grafoid Dodge that will race in every round of the 2015 NASCAR Xfinity Series. White will drive the car for the majority of events, and it will be rented out for events when business commitments prevent White from attending the event.

Derek White, a Mohawk based near Montreal (Canada), came to NASCAR racing after almost 30 years of Drag Racing, culminating with a 1300hp / 8-second car. At the time, White wanted an even more exciting outlet for his energies and turned to oval racing on pavement in 2009. He enjoyed the new type of racing right from the start. "After a few races in a Sportsman car, I moved up and had to learn completely different driving techniques while competing in the highest level of stock car racing in Canada, the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series (NCaTS). I took it easy at the beginning, learning from watching the old pros and making sure that I was never in the way. I am really proud to have been named the 2010 Rookie of the year in NCaTS.''

History repeated itself after some 35 races in NCaTS, as White started looking for tougher competition and more power. Derek first turned to the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series for six races before moving up to the Nationwide Series (Now called the Xfinity Series), just one step below the top series in NASCAR, the Sprint Cup.

As he points out, he is now racing in a different world. ''The thrill of driving up to 200 mph (320 km/h) close to a wall, on a much longer and wider track, is beyond anything I have ever experienced. Adjusting to twice the speed, to the aerodynamic forces and to the mix of highly skilled and less experienced drivers, is a fantastic challenge for me. I go racing to get a break from running my businesses, and an Xfinity weekend is certainly another world far from my day-to-day work.'' Derek's race strategy is simple: get a feel for the track, the traffic and the competition in the early laps, then push harder to take advantage of the inevitable incidents and move up the order in the second half of the race.

White already has his eye on the Sprint Cup, against the best drivers and cars in NACAR. As he admits: "I am always up for a challenge, and running against the absolute best is what I really want to do. I am doing everything I can to achieve that goal."

PLATTSBURGH, NY – Winter's chill seems to be hanging on a little bit longer than normal this year, so Airborne Park Speedway is headed indoors. The Champlain Centre Mall in Plattsburgh, NY will host a two-day racing show on the weekend of April 18-19, featuring the cars and drivers of the track's NASCAR Whelen All-American Series stock car championship and the young stars of the Kart Racing Series.

As many as 25 stock cars and 15 go-karts will be on display, and the free-admission show will have a real race-event feel with a driver autograph session and a pit stop competition. In addition, 98.9 WOKO will broadcast live from Champlain Centre and will raffle off Airborne Park Speedway passes provided by Taylor Rental and movie tickets for "Furious 7" provided by Regal Cinemas.

"We are very excited to host the drivers and cars from Airborne Park Speedway, and we're really looking forward to making this a fun, family-friendly event that we can build on each year," said Champlain Centre Mall Marketing Director Catherine Jennings. "It's going to be a great time, and hopefully it comes along with a little spring weather, too!"

Drivers and cars from all four NASCAR Whelen All-American Series divisions are expected to attend the show, including J&S Steel Modified champion Nick Heywood, Ground Round Late Model champion Bucko Branham, top Key R-D Trailer Sales Renegade racers Shawn Duquette and Zack Daniels, and Busch Beer Mini Modified racer Tyler Irwin. Derek White, le vétéran pilote de Kahnawake, complètera la saison 2015 en série NASCAR Xfinity à bord de la Dodge No 13 préparée par l'équipe américaine Motorsports Business Management (MBM), sous la direction de Carl Long. L'équipe bénéficiera de la participation de nouveaux partenaires, Grafoid et Braille Battery.

Kahnawake (Canada), le 10 avril 2015 – Le partenariat entre le pilote et MBM est le fruit de plusieurs efforts entre Derek White et Carl Long, les deux voulant monter une équipe pour rejoindre les plus hauts niveaux en NASCAR avec un partenaire en qui ils auraient pleine confiance. L'équipe ainsi constituée s'occupera de la préparation et le support à la piste de la voiture. Selon une autre entente avec NASCAR, la voiture sera en piste à toutes les courses, avec le pilote de chez nous au volant, ou sera louée à un pilote d'expérience lorsque les engagements de White l'empêcheront de participer à la course.

Derek White, de la nation mohawk, habite dans la région de Montréal. Mordu de vitesse dès son jeune âge, il participa pendant presque 30 années à des courses d'accélération, terminant sa carrière au volant de voitures de 1 300 ch. Toujours à la recherche de sensations plus fortes, il se tourna en 2009 vers les courses de stock-car sur asphalte. Il a tout de suite apprécié l'expérience : « Après quelques courses en classe Sportsman, je me tournai vers la série NASCAR Canadian Tire (NCaTS) où je remportai le titre de recrue de l'année en 2010. » White continua ensuite à parfaire ses techniques contre les vieux loups de cette série, le plus haut niveau de compétition automobile au Canada. Son approche faisait aussi preuve de maturité : « Après une ou deux saisons à faire mes classes en milieu de peloton, je me retrouvai à rouler de plus en plus rapidement et à suivre les meilleurs pilotes de la série. »

Après 35 courses en NCaTS et toujours à la recherché de sensations de plus en plus fortes, White se tourna alors vers la série NASCAR Truck, plus puissantes, mais dont les courses sont plutôt centrées sur des pistes plus courtes. Il passa ensuite rapidement à la série NACAR Xfinity (Nationwide à l'époque) et ses voitures de 725 ch très proches des performances de la catégorie reine en NASCAR, la Sprint Cup.

Le pilote avoue volontiers qu'il se retrouve maintenant dans un autre monde : « Rouler le long d'un muret à quelque 320 km/h est une autre réalité. Je dois apprendre à rouler deux fois plus vite qu'avant, à composer avec les forces aérodynamiques, la circulation plus lente et plus rapide, et le mélange de pilotes d'expérience et de jeunes en apprentissage (comme moi cette année !)

Piloter a un effet thérapeutique pour le pilote : « Je vais aux pistes pour me détacher complètement de mes autres responsabilités et activités d'affaires, et ça marche. Pendant deux jours, je suis plongé dans un tout autre monde. Je me retrouve dans un présent où seules ma performance et celle de l'équipe comptent – un bonheur total qui continue jusqu'au lendemain de la course avant que mon niveau d'adrénaline revienne à la normale. »

Le pilote adhère encore à l'approche graduelle de ses débuts en NASCAR : rouler en début de course de façon à bien apprendre la piste et le comportement des autres pilotes, puis pousser plus fort en seconde moitié de course pour doubler les plus lents et bénéficier des incidents de piste pour remonter le peloton. »

White ajoute qu'il regarde aussi vers la série Sprint Cup, avec des voitures plus évoluées et un pilotage encore plus poussé. Il trouve le défi irrésistible : « Je cherche toujours à monter plus haut et à me battre contre les meilleurs, comme en série Sprint. »

Whiting veteran back home on both asphalt and dirt

WEST HAVEN, VT – Jimmy Ryan is coming home to Devil's Bowl Speedway. One of Vermont's most popular open-wheel Modified stock car drivers for many years, "Flyin' Ryan" plans to end his hiatus from driving in 2015. He has recently taken delivery of a Teo Pro Car chassis, a brand new Chevrolet "602" crate engine, and has reclaimed his familiar car number 60 with the registration office.

Ryan plans to compete on both asphalt and clay, running in the Bond Auto Parts Modified division of the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series (NWAAS) on the pavement, and in the Liberty Street Discount Beverage & Deli Sportsman Modified class in the five-race Optical Expressions of Berlin Dirt Track Series.

The Whiting, VT veteran's most recent season of driving was five years ago. Ryan is highly regarded as a dirt track specialist – he was a frequent winner on the former half-mile clay track at Devil's Bowl and was a two-time champion at Bear Ridge Speedway – but he won twice during the first year of the new pavement era at Devil's Bowl in 2010 and picked up another asphalt victory at Albany-Saratoga Speedway that season.

Ryan says that his desire to race never went away, but a busy work schedule kept him out of the car. Though he is hesitant to officially throw his hat in the ring as a full-season championship chaser, he concedes that he will likely be having too much fun to skip any races.

"I'll be at the opener on the asphalt on May 9^th for the 100-lapper. After that, we'll see where it goes," Ryan said with a laugh. "I've been telling everyone that I'm not planning on running every race, but no one seems to believe that. They're probably right."

Sponsorship for the #60 car will be provided by long-time supporters Foster Motors, Toon's Home Improvement, and Clayton Ryan Trucking. Ryan's main focus will be on the weekly asphalt events at Devil's Bowl, but he also has the dates of the five-race schedule for The Dirt Track at Devil's Bowl circled on his calendar. He also hopes to make occasional appearances at Airborne Park Speedway in Plattsburgh, NY.

Devil's Bowl Speedway's 49^th season of stock car racing opens with the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series on Saturday, May 9 at 6:00 p.m. The Bond Auto Parts Modifieds will run 100 laps under the lights, and will be joined by a 50-lap race for the Central Vermont Motorcycles Late Models and championship openers for the Brileya's Chrysler-Jeep Renegade and Portland Glass Mini Stock divisions.

Waterbury, VT – The American-Canadian Tour (ACT) will see the return of one of the Northeast's most accomplished drivers this coming season. Wayne Helliwell Jr., the 2012 and 2013 ACT Champion, recently stated that he will be competing full-time on the Tour in 2015.

The Dover, NH veteran came out on top of duels with 8-time Tour Champion Brian Hoar in 2012 and Joey Polewarczyk Jr. in 2013, respectively. Helliwell won six races over those two years, including the 2012 Fall Foliage 200 at Airborne Park Speedway in Plattsburgh, NY and three victories at Devil's Bowl Speedway in West Haven, VT.

Helliwell ran a partial ACT schedule in 2014, but will seek a third title this year on the 13-race Tour, which will visit tracks in five U.S. states and Canada. The former Lee USA Speedway Champion is looking forward to the challenge of the Tour competition.

"I think the competition is going to be even stronger than it has been," Helliwell said. "You'll have Joey (Polewarczyk Jr.) again, he's always a contender. Jimmy Hebert, Ray Parent, and some of the newcomers will be strong as well. It's never a 'give me' or 'here you go'; it's going to be really tough."

Despite his partial schedule last season, Helliwell still captured a win in the Merchant's Bank 150 at Thunder Road Speedbowl in Barre, VT, along with five top-5 finishes. His efforts helped his Bruce Bernhardt–owned team finish second in the 2014 ACT owner's point standings. Helliwell also won the 6^th Annual Bond Auto ACT Invitational at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway in September.

A bumper crop of title contenders is shaping up for the 2015 ACT season. Helliwell will have to dethrone 2014 ACT Champion and fellow New Hampshire native Polewarczyk, his closest challenger in 2013. Vermont's Jimmy Hebert and Rhode Island's Ray Parent finished second and third in the 2014 standings and are both chasing their first championship. Maine drivers Travis Stearns, Ben Ashline, and Brad Babb are expected to be factors as well. Young up-and-comers such as Emily Packard, Brandon Atkins, and Kyle Welch will also try to stake their claims as title contenders.

"Joey (Polewarczyk) and Wayne (Helliwell) obviously right off the bat, you know those two are going to be right there," Stearns said. "You might as well consider them in the title hunt no matter what. There's a lot; you never know. Jimmy (Hebert) runs great, Ray (Parent)…I honestly think there's six or seven teams that could be right in the hunt. That's a lot of what I like about the ACT Tour. I think it's underrated for some of the caliber of people we have there."

Helliwell, Polewarczyk, and the rest of the ACT stars will begin the 2015 championship battle on Saturday, April 18 at the Oxford Plains Speedway in Oxford, ME. The event will be part of the first-ever doubleheader between the ACT Late Models and the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) Super Late Models, with each series running 150-lap features. The PASS Modifieds, Wicked Cool Midgets, and Oxford Street Stocks are also on the card. Front gates open at 9:30am with a post time of 2:00pm. Admission is just $30 for adults and $15 for juniors ages 6-12.

PASS And ACT Prepare For Historic Doubleheader At Oxford Plains Speedway

NAPLES, ME (April 9) – What once seemed like an impossibility will be a reality in in just over a week when the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) Super Late Models and American Canadian Tour (ACT) Late Models race on the same weekend at the same race track for the first time in history. On Saturday, April 18 at Oxford Plains Speedway, the Northeast's two premier stock car sanctioning bodies will kick off their 2015 season with Twin 150 lappers. New series sponsors, AIM Recycling and Kenny U-Pull will present the PASS portion of the history making event, while Dave's Small Engine Repair and Walker Mowers sponsor the ACT Late Model race.

     Hudson, NH's Joey Polewarczyk is the defending ACT Late Model champion, but has raced extensively throughout his career in Super Late Models. Polewarczyk most recently drove a PASS Super Late Model in last year's Mason Dixon Meltdown. "Joey Pole" as he is known throughout the racing fraternity, along with Maine's Travis Stearns, plan to compete in both the PASS AIM Recycling Super Late Model Presented By Kenny U-Pull feature and the ACT Late Model race. Although he knows 300 laps at Oxford Plains Speedway will not be easy, Polewarcyzk is excited about his busy weekend.

     "It's challenging just to run one car and try to get the handling great for the race," says Polewarcyzk. "But now the challenge is to get both cars, spending as much time on both cars as you can, to try and get them handling the best for a long run and a long race. But I feel confident with my crew that we'll be able to get both cars running well."

     Polewarcyzk will not be alone at Oxford Plains when it comes to talented ACT Late Model drivers. Dover, NH's Wayne Helliwell, Jr., the 2012 and 2013 ACT Late Model champion will be there, along with Jeff White of Winthrop, ME. White is a former Oxford Plains Speedway track champion and winner of the ACT Late Model event at Oxford in 2011.

     Both races will be chalked full of exceptional racers looking forward to being a part of this historic event. Berwick, ME's Joey Doiron has already gotten three races under his belt this season and sits second in PASS South Super Late Model points. Having been part of several major races in his career, including the AIM Recycling Oxford 250 Presented By Kenny U-Pull, Doiron realizes how big this event is, not only for New England, but for short track racing in general.

     "I'm excited to get back to Oxford in our family car, we've been really good there the last two years, and we were finally able to get a win at Oxford in the last race there," said Doiron, driver of the JBJ Machine-sponsored #73. "Hopefully we're able to turn the year around after a few bad runs in front of the huge crowd that should be at Oxford Plains next weekend."

     One of the best fields in PASS AIM Recycling Super Late Model Presented By Kenny U-Pull history is expected on Saturday, April 18 at Oxford Plains Speedway. Doiron will be joined by defending series champion DJ Shaw, former champions Johnny Clark, Cassius Clark, and Ben Rowe. Two-time defending AIM Recycling Oxford 250 Presented By Kenny U-Pull winner Travis Benjamin is always a strong contender at Oxford Plains along with 3-time race winner Mike Rowe. Quebec is represented in the early entries by Eric St Gelais and Raphael Lessard and Nova Scotia's Cole Butcher will be coming from the Canadian Maritimes. Vermont's Brent Dragon and Connecticut's Dillon Moltz will be joined by a strong contingent from New Hampshire including Matt Frahm, Bryan Kruczek, and Andy Shaw. And, as would be expected, a strong list of drivers from Maine will be contenders led by Tim and TJ Brackett, Richie Dearborn, Dave Farrington, Jr., Michael Landry, Reid Lanpher, Glen Luce, Shawn Martin, Scott McDaniel, Scott Mulkern, David Oliver, Tony Ricci, and Bobby Timmons.

     Opening weekend at Oxford Plains Speedway begins on Friday, April 17 with rotating practice for the PASS AIM Recycling Super Late Models Presented By Kenny U-Pull, ACT Late Models, PASS Modifieds, Wicked Cool Midgets and Street Stocks starting at 1 PM. On Saturday, April 18, rotating practice starts at 9:30 AM, with heat races beginning at 2 PM, followed by the main events.

     The Pro All Stars Series is recognized as North America's premier sanctioning body for asphalt Super Late Models and boasts such marquee events as the legendary AIM Recycling Oxford 250 Presented By Kenny U-Pull at Oxford Plains Speedway and PASS South's Easter Bunny 150 at the historic Hickory Motor Speedway. 2015 NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race Expands To Showcase Top Talent

Million-Dollar Payday Awaits Winner of Annual Classic at Charlotte Motor Speedway

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (April 8, 2015) – Showcasing the sport's top talent, NASCAR announced changes for the 2015 NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race that will elevate the excitement of this annual classic. Race coverage is set for 7 p.m. ET, Saturday, May 16 at Charlotte Motor Speedway (FOX Sports 1, MRN Radio and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio).

The field will include race winners from the 2014 and 2015 seasons, as well as all former NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race winners and NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champions who are full-time competitors – all of whom will compete for the $1 million prize awarded to the winner. Prior to this change, former NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race winners and NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champions were eligible only if they accomplished the feat within the previous 10 seasons.

In addition, the five-segment race will increase by a total of 20 laps, with the first four segments each scheduled for 25 laps as compared to 20 in recent years. With the final 10-lap shootout, the race now totals 110 laps.

"These updates were made to ensure that our fans have every opportunity to see the best drivers in one of our crown jewel events and give them even more on-track action," said Steve O'Donnell, NASCAR executive vice president and chief racing development officer. "Expanding this field and adding laps delivers that to our fans, raising the competition level and ensuring that this race continues to be the biggest all-star event in all of sports."

The 2015 NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race will have a minimum field of 20 drivers. There are currently 17 drivers eligible, with three additional spots available. Two of those are reserved for the segment winners from the two 20-lap Sprint Showdown segments beginning at 7 p.m. ET, Friday, May 15 at Charlotte Motor Speedway (FOX Sports 1, MRN, SiriusXM).

The final spot belongs to the Sprint Fan Vote winner; voting at www.NASCAR.com/sprintfanvote and the NASCAR MOBILE application closes at 7 p.m. ET on May 15. The winner of the Sprint Fan Vote will be announced in Victory Lane following the conclusion of the Sprint Showdown.

Drivers in the 2015 NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race will compete in cars that conform to all 2015 rules. The race format will consist of a total of five segments: four 25-lap segments, with the average finish of the first four segments determining the order cars will enter pit road for a mandatory four-tire pit stop following the fourth segment. Running order ties will be broken by the finish of the fourth segment. The order of the cars returning to the track following the mandatory pit stop determines the starting order for a final winner-take-all 10-lap segment.

All laps will count in segments one through four. In the fifth and final segment, only green flag laps will be counted. There will be optional pit stops during the breaks following each of the first three segments, with the field set by the pit stop/stay out positioning during the five caution laps.

The following drivers are eligible to compete in the 2015 NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race: AJ Allmendinger, Aric Almirola, Kurt Busch, Kyle Busch, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Carl Edwards, Jeff Gordon, Denny Hamlin, Kevin Harvick, Jimmie Johnson, Kasey Kahne, Matt Kenseth (2004 NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race winner), Brad Keselowski, Joey Logano, Jamie McMurray (2014 winner), Ryan Newman (2002 winner), Tony Stewart (2009 winner).

This will be the 31st running of the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race. McMurray is the defending race winner.

Fans can catch all the action from the Sprint Showdown and North Carolina Education Lottery 200 on Friday night to All-Star qualifying and the biggest all-star event in sports, the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race, on Saturday with weekend packages starting at just $99. For just $20, fans can purchase a special Golden Ticket upgrade to secure a prime location with special early access to a reserved area directly in front of the stage for the Rayovac presents Little Big Town pre-race concert. A limited number of Golden Tickets are available and can be purchased online at www.charlottemotorspeedway.com or by calling the speedway ticket office at 1-800-455-FANS (3267).
