Samantha Shaw Secures a Seat for the Autumn Colours Classic Young Guns Showcase

Short track racing has always been about catching a break. Being in the right spot at the right time to gain a position in the running order, or landing a ride instead of watching the action from the sidelines.

 

With Peterborough Speedway's 23rdAnnual Autumn Colours Classic – presented by Lucas Oil Products – on the horizon, Samantha Shaw will make the starting line-up in the Mini Stock edition APC Auto Parts Young Guns Showcase. The 20 year-old – who is attending the University of Waterloo and studying to be a veterinarian – will wheel Danny Benedict's #54 Mustang in the inaugural spotlight event for drivers 21 or younger. Car owner and crew chief Doug Benedict says putting the former Sunset Speedway regular is a win-win situation for the team.

 

"While he's eligible to run the event himself, Danny will be making the trek from Ottawa – where he's attending classes at Algonquin College – late Friday afternoon and wouldn't get much seat time," said Benedict. "Sam has been one of the team's biggest cheerleaders throughout the year and although she ran a limited schedule this season, she had a main event win in 2014 so we're confident that she can get the job done."

 

Benedict says Shaw will practice the car and provide feedback on whatever changes need to be made prior to the first round of qualifying for the Mini Stock division. In many ways, the chance to run the Young Guns Showcase will be a way to say 'thanks' for helping the team through a tight spot while their regular driver is in transit from the Nation's Capital. 

 

"Danny had a great season, finishing just outside of the top 5 in the final standings at Sunset, but it all started with an opening night feature win at Peterborough," said Doug Benedict. "This has long been one of our favourite events on the schedule, so we're hoping for a strong run and are happy to have Samantha's help to get the car ready."

Waterbury, VT – The American Racer Three Star program is designed to recognize three teams in no particular order of performance that had outstanding races at American-Canadian Tour (ACT) U.S. Tour events. There are no specific criteria for deciding who might receive the award of a free American Racer Tire (value $125.00), but a special effort by a team, exceptional race, just plain old hard luck, or any other accepted reason is used to decide the award recipients.

 

The Three Stars are chosen by ACT officials and will receive certificates for use of a free American Racer tire at a race of their choosing during the 2015 season.

 

AIRBORNE PARK SPEEDWAY

FALL FOLIAGE 200

 

The 41st Annual Fall Foliage 200 at Plattsburgh, NY's Airborne Park Speedway is perennially a grueling affair that nonetheless is seldom decided until the final laps. The 2015 edition was no exception. The drama began just 34 laps into the event when Hudson, NH's Joey Polewarczyk Jr. suffered a broken shock mount while leading, dealing a crushing blow to his bid to repeat as ACT U.S. Champion. Meanwhile, Quebers Dany Trépanier and Jean-François Déry were duking it out from the get-go for the Série ACT Q.C. Championship in their season finale.

 

After the top dogs positioned themselves in the first ¾ of the event, the final 50 laps were some of the hardest-fought of the 2015 ACT season. Alex Labbé, Patrick Laperle, Nick Sweet, and Brian Hoar all took turns at the front, with the leaders running side-by-side for numerous circuits. Hoar eventually inherited the win after Laperle was found to be in violation of ACT's shock rule, but memories of the thrilling duel will remain. Behind the lead quartet, a number of other drivers had outstanding efforts in their own right, and there were several deserving candidates for the American Racer Three Star Awards. The winners for the Fall Foliage 200 are:

 

*Dany Trépanier, St-Edouard, QC – #19QC –The 2015 season was one to remember for Dany Trépanier and his Construction JC-7 team. Trépanier finished second in the 2014 Série ACT point standings, and entered his sixth season with the Tour with a new car from Crazy Horse Racing and the determination to win his first title. Entering the Série ACT season finale at Airborne he held a 30-point lead over 2013 Champion Jean-François Déry on the strength of one win and eight top-5 finishes.

 

Trépanier knew entering the event he had to look at the big picture; one wrong move could cost him the prize he had worked all season for. After starting 18th, Trépanier drove a clean, smart race. He worked his way into the top-10 by lap 60 and ran there most of the event, eventually finishing ninth. Coupled with Déry's eighth-place result, it was more than enough to secure the Série ACT crown. ACT congratulates Trépanier and his team, and they receive a Star Award for knowing the situation and doing exactly what they needed to clinch their title.

 

*Brandon Atkins, Au Sable Forks, NY – #4NY – The Fall Foliage 200 was the first event at Airborne since the death of Leon Gonyo, a veteran of racing for more than 40 years and a staple of Airborne for the past decade. In tribute to his fallen idol, Brandon Atkins carried yellow #4's on his car at Airborne just as he did the previous week at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

 

Atkins started last in his heat and was moving forward when an incident with Gaetan Gaudreault left him with heavy right-side damage. After making repairs Atkins again started last in the main event – and again rocketed to the front. The Northline Utilities Dodge entered the top-10 on lap 84 and cracked the top-5 on lap 151. Although the drive didn't leave Atkins with enough car to challenge the leaders, his fifth-place finish was his best of 2015 and positioned him to potentially finish as high as fourth in the final standings. Atkins receives his ACT-high fourth Star Award of the season for a stellar day that continues his late-season push.

 

*Brad Babb, Windham, ME – #15NH – Over the course of the 2015 season, seeing Brad Babb in contention at an ACT event has gone from a pleasant surprise to an expectation. It's now a shock when they struggle – which is how his day began at Airborne. Babb was unable to break out of the pack in qualifying and was relegated to the 20th starting position for the Fall Foliage 200. To compound matters, an "accordion effect" a dozen laps into the event resulted in a puckered nose on his Joey Laquerre–owned Ford.

 

But Babb has faced adversity before this season, and he's always bounced back. He did so again on Saturday, staying on the lead lap through a pair of long green-flag runs and readying for the final sprint. Babb then took advantage of three late restarts and sliced to a final sixth-place finish. He is now all but assured of finishing third in the final ACT Tour standings, which surpasses almost everyone's expectations entering the season. The team receives its third Star Award of 2015 and is already on the short list of title contenders for 2016.

 

The cars and stars of ACT now head to Thunder Road Speedbowl for the 53rd Annual Northfield Savings Bank Milk Bowl. Booth Bros./H.P. Hood Qualifying Day on Saturday, October 10 at 1:30pm will feature time trials and "Triple 50" qualifying races to help set the 30-car starting field. The first segment of the historic event rolls to the grid at 1:00pm on Sunday, October 11.

Montréal, le 5 octobre – Rapide lors de sa course de qualification, Alex Labbé partait de la quatrième place sur la grille à bord de sa Ford no48 VR Victoriaville/Larue Motorsport pour les 200 tours du Airborne Speedway, un beau circuit de 0,8 km avec ses virages relevés. Après une fin de course serrée au possible, Alex s'est mérité la troisième place derrière deux pilotes américains.

Alex Labbé aime courir à Airborne : « La piste est bien relevée dans les virages, ce qui permet de rouler à deux de large sans perdre de vitesse. On peut alors tirer avantage d'une meilleure tenue de route de sa voiture ou d'une petite erreur de l'autre pour le doubler à l'intérieur ou à l'extérieur. » Avec 29 pilotes au départ, la course promettait beaucoup d'action dans le peloton comme lorsque les meneurs prenaient un tour aux pilotes plus lents.

Parti 4e, le pilote de Saint-Albert se maintenait en 3e place puis en 2e place du 34e au 151e tour. À la relance, les quatre premiers ont roulé côte à côte pendant au moins 20 tours, avec Labbé en deuxième ligne, à l'extérieur puis à l'intérieur, toujours dans la roue des deux premiers qui occupaient toute la largeur de la piste. Malheureusement, la voiture devint alors de plus en plus sous-vireuse. « J'ai alors ajouté du freinage aux roues arrière pour réduire la charge de travail des pneus avant en entrée de virage. Et à environ dix tours de la fin, j'avais trop envoyé de freinage à l'arrière et j'ai fait un petit travers, juste assez pour que le pilote à ma droite passe devant moi, me laissant 4e à l'arrivée. » L'exclusion du vainqueur lors de l'inspection officielle d'après-course a ensuite donné la 3e place à Alex au final.

Labbé et l'équipe VR Victoriaville/Larue Motorsport sera en piste samedi et dimanche prochain, le 10 octobre pour les essais et la qualification, et dimanche 11 octobre pour la course en trois tranches de 100 tours du Thunder Road Milk Bowl, sur le petit ovale avec bol relevé de Barre (Vermont). Les qualifications du samedi comprennent des tours chronométrés et trois courses de 50 tours pour déterminer la grille de départ du premier 100 tours du dimanche. Le dimanche, on inverse l'ordre d'arrivée du premier 100 tours pour déterminer la grille pour le second, et les résultats du second pour déterminer la grille du troisième 100 tours. Le pilote qui a accumulé le plus petit total de positions aux trois arrivées est déclaré vainqueur, et la position à l'arrivée du troisième 100 tours brise toute égalité au final d'une course toujours spectaculaire.

Jason Morand remporte le Challenge 200

Alors que septembre sonne le glas de la saison du "Stock-Car" à l'Autodrome St-Eustache, octobre quant à lui, représente la fête des "Chauffeurs du dimanche". En ce 4 octobre ensoleillé, ce fut toutefois deux "Chauffeurs du samedi" qui auront occupé les premières marches du podium de ce premier de deux "Enduro" qui concluront la saison de courses 2015 de l'ASE.

Tout près de 70 voitures de 4 cylindres auront pris le départ du "Challenge 200", de ce nombre, 25 auront survécu à l'épreuve, ainsi qu'à la médecine imposée par leurs maitres. Si tout au long de la journée plusieurs semblaient prétendre aux grands honneurs, c'est toutefois Jason Morand #59, qui sera parvenu à ménager suffisamment mécanique et pneus, pour se mériter une troisième victoire en carrière dans ce type d'épreuve.

Yannick Miron #94, vice champion 2015 en série "Nascar Sport-Compacte MRQ", ainsi que Maxime Taillefer #144 complète quant à eux le "Top-5".

Airborne Park Speedway Ownership Group Places Plattsburgh Track for Sale

Facility available as race-ready motorsports venue

PLATTSBURGH, NY – Airborne Park Speedway's ownership group has announced that the Plattsburgh, NY facility is available for sale or lease. The move comes following a mutual agreement between owners Steve Fuller, Jamie Atkins, and Mike Bruno.

Bruno, the managing partner, will step down from his position effective November 15, 2015; media director Justin St. Louis and marketing director Dick Therrien will do the same. Airborne Park Speedway recently completed its 62nd season and operated under sanction from the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series in 2015. Plans for a weekly competition format and schedule in 2016 are not presently known, though stock car special events and competition go-kart racing plans are under development.

An automotive and racing equipment swap meet and car show on Sunday, October 25 will continue as planned. The Airborne Park Speedway 2015 Banquet of Champions will also go on as scheduled, to be held on Saturday, November 14, at the Rainbow Wedding and Banquet Hall in Altona, NY.

For the ownership parties, increasing commitments to family and other business interests factored into the decision; all three members also own and manage separate businesses. Fuller owns and operates Fuller Excavating in Keeseville, NY and the Harmony Golf Club in Port Kent, NY; Atkins owns and operates Northline Utilities in Au Sable Forks, NY and manages an American-Canadian Tour Late Model racing team for his son and driver, Brandon Atkins; and Bruno owns and operates three Bruno's Towing & Auto Repair facilities in Rutland County, VT and Devil's Bowl Speedway in West Haven, VT.

Fuller purchased Airborne Park Speedway in 2007 and made major facility improvements including the construction of two VIP suite towers and a new track surface. "I'm encouraged by the progress that the track made in 2015 and I want to see it continue to thrive as a race track in the future," Fuller said. "Mike Bruno and the team that ran the track this year proved to me that racing will absolutely still work as a business, and they have left Airborne in a much better place than it has been in for many years."

Atkins, a former racer, became part of the Airborne Park Speedway ownership group in 2009. "We met or exceeded every goal that we set together this year and we saw many positive indicators for the future of racing at Airborne," he said. "This decision has more to do with time than anything else. Airborne turned a big corner in 2015 and became financially viable for the first time in many years, and that is due to the efforts of Mike Bruno and the staff that he put in place this past year. Now it is important that we select the right person or group to come into Airborne and keep the racing tradition alive and bring the venue to the next level."

Bruno, a former champion driver at Airborne, joined the ownership group and was named the track's general manager in November 2014. "We all love Airborne and this decision has been hard on all of us, but there came a point when reality set in," Bruno said. "I am very proud of what we accomplished in 2015, but at the same time none of us want to sacrifice time with our families or turn our attention away from our own separate businesses. Our internal conversations about this started a while ago, but I think that the recent passing of racer Leon Gonyo only strengthened our desire to spend more time closer to home."

The current ownership group agrees that it is important for a new prospective owner or leaseholder to operate Airborne Park Speedway as a stock car racing facility with a local focus. The facility is available for sale, lease, or event-ready rental.

"Plattsburgh loves racing, and the people of the North Country have been devoted to Airborne for more than 60 years," Fuller said. "The race teams, sponsors, and fans have been our biggest supporters, and we did not want to leave any of them guessing about our roles at Airborne for the future. It was important for us to be honest with them about this decision as early in the off-season as possible."

In sport where individual effort is usually the most rewarded, Willy Howells is cut from a different cloth.

 

Originally from Oshawa – but now making his home in Hampton, Ontario with his wife Ashley – Willy Howells is just finishing his second season of action in the INEX Ontario Legends Series. The 25 year-old speedster has an impressive resume that includes a pair of track championships at the former Mosport/Canadian Tire Motorsport Park Speedway in the Pure/Mini Stock division. Howells also was named Rookie of the Year and Most Popular Driver during his time at the controls of the #19 Honda Prelude. Branded as 'Team Blue', the driver enjoyed a solid level of support from family, friends and sponsors.

 

While most racers his age would be looking to continue building on some career statistics, Howells – who earns a weekly paycheque as a cleaner at The Durham District School Board – says his attention has shifted and he's become more focused on what he describes as some of the more important aspects of the sport.

 

"Like most weekly racers, I've made a number of wonderful friends during my time in the sport," admitted Howells. "As determined as the other drivers might be to beat you on the racetrack, everyone is always willing to help each other out behind the scenes. To me, that's much more important than picking up another checkered flag."

 

Finishing 13th in the 2015 INEX Ontario Legends point standings, Howells still enjoys working through the pack under race conditions but gets the same thrill for what he does behind the scenes. When another competitor was involved in a wreck that knocked them out of action, the driver and his father made the hour's drive to the shop to help with repairs. Later in the season, a team in the hunt for the overall championship suffered mechanical issues that ended the night with their own equipment. Howells stepped out of his #19H machine to allow the rival a chance to earn some valuable points in the title chase.

 

"In each case, it was just the right thing to do," said the soft-spoken racer. "I try to put myself in their position. The spirit of friendship in the heat of battle can go a long way. You have to keep looking at the big picture. There could be a time down the road where I'm looking for someone to lend a hand."

Après deux semaines hors-piste Raphaël Lessard reprend le volant de la voiture #71 FRL Express de l'équipe David Gilliland Racing pour le Pass Championships Fall Foliage Festival à Oxford Plains Speedway, ME.

L'équipe se dirige tout d'abord ce jeudi en Ohio sur la piste de Columbus Motor Speedway pour une journée intensive de test. Pour l'occasion, Raphaël aura la chance d'avoir David Gilliland comme coach. D'ailleurs, David prendra le volant de la voiture de réserve pour rouler en piste avec Raphael.  L'équipe prendra ensuite la route pour Oxford pour participer à son dernier programme de la saison sur ce tracé.

Étant la dernière épreuve du championnat PASS North, Raphael participera tout d'abord à une journée de pratique le samedi 3 octobre.

NAPLES, ME (September 30) – Following the grind of a season that began back in April, the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) AIM Recycling Super Late Models will conclude their 2015 campaign this Sunday afternoon at Oxford Plains Speedway.  While veteran Mike Rowe is on the verge of capturing his first title since the 2006 PASS South Super Late Model championship, several drivers would like to end the season on a high note.

            Fellow veteran and former 6-time series champion Johnny Clark has reason to be excited heading to this weekend's 150 lapper.  Clark recently ended a long dry spell by capturing his fourth checkered flag in the prestigious Southern Maine Chrysler Dodge Jeep 300 at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway.  But, Clark credits his recent turn around with a decision to step back and compete in several local shows at Oxford Plains Speedway prior to the 42nd Running of the Oxford 250 in late August.

            "We needed to get our baseline back," says Clark, a winner of over 30 PASS Super Late Model races during his legendary career.  "Running weekly at Oxford Plains Speedway allowed us to work on one setup.  We were lucky enough to find ourselves in victory lane the week before the 250."

With a strong run in the Oxford 250 behind them, Clark and his Clark's Car Crushing #54 team shifted their focus to the 300 at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway.  A strong car and the right pit strategy allowed Clark to flex his muscle and capture his first PASS win in over a year.  A win that Clark hopes not only propels him to a strong finish to this season, but an even stronger and more competitive 2016.

            "I feel like winning the 300 was huge for us," said Clark.  "We went from struggling in PASS races lately to backing up our strong run in the Oxford 250.  I think it's important for us to carry momentum into the offseason.  I want to finish the season on a high note for our sponsors and crew."         

A strong group of contenders have already filed entries for this weekend's PASS Championship Fall Foliage Festival at Oxford Plains Speedway including former Oxford 250 winners Travis Benjamin and Glen Luce and 2015 race winners Joey Doiron, Bryan Kruczek and Mike Rowe.  Veterans Richie Dearborn, Tracy Gordon, Scott Mulkern, Gary Smith, Alan Tardiff, and Bobby Timmons will be joined by a strong group of Maine racers that includes Corey Bubar, Chris Coolidge, Dave Farrington, Jr., Reid Lanpher, Scott McDaniel, Adam Polvinen, Scott Robbins, Dennis Spencer, Jr., Kirk Thibeau and Alan Wilson.  Bobby Therrien will be making the tow from Vermont, while Raphael Lessard will be making the trip from Quebec in the David Gilliland Racing entry.

            A busy weekend of action begins this Saturday afternoon at Oxford Plains Speedway with optional practice going from 2 – 5 PM.  On Sunday, pit gates open at 7:45 AM followed by rotating practice for the PASS AIM Recycling Super Late Models, PASS Modifieds, Mini Stocks, and Legends.  Heat races will begin at 1:30 PM, followed by main events for all divisions.

National Motorsports Appeals Panel Statement

 

(Sept. 30, 2015)

 

The National Motorsports Appeals Panel today heard and considered the appeal of a P4 penalty issued on Sept. 23 to Rob Kauffman (owner), Clint Bowyer (driver), and Billy W. Scott (crew chief) relative to NASCAR Sprint Cup Series vehicle #15 at Chicagoland Speedway.

 

The penalty concerns the following sections in the 2015 NASCAR Rule Book: Sections 12.1, 20.14c, 20.14.2.1.k, 12.5.3.4.d, 12.5.3.4.1.d&f, 12.5.3.4.2.

 

The original penalty assessed included a $75,000 fine, three-race suspension and six months' probation for Scott and loss of 25 championship car owner and 25 championship driver points to both Kauffman and Bowyer.

 

Upon hearing the testimony, the decisions of the National Motorsports Appeals Panel are:

 

1.                  The Appellants violated the Rule or Rules set forth in the Penalty Notice.

2.                  That the Panel affirms and upholds the original Penalty assessed by NASCAR.

 

The panel consisted of the following three individuals:

Mr. Paul Brooks

Mr. Bill Lester

Mr. Bill Mullis

 

The Appellants have the right to appeal the decision of the National Motorsports Appeals Panel to the National Motorsports Final Appeals Officer in accordance with Section 15 of the NASCAR Rule Book as the Expedited Final Appeal. The deadline for filing is 5 p.m. ET on Sept. 30.

Waterbury, VT – The American-Canadian Tour (ACT) championship battles on both sides of the border are coming down to the wire as ACT heads to Plattsburgh, NY's Airborne Park Speedway for the 41st Fall Foliage 200 this Saturday, October 3.

 

The combination event between the ACT U.S. Tour and the Quebec-based Série ACT at the fast ½-mile oval will crown the 2015 Série ACT Champion. St-Edouard, QC's Dany Trépanier enters the event with a 30-point lead over 2013 Série ACT Champion Jean-François Déry. Trépanier is chasing his first series championship after finishing second to Alex Labbé in 2014.

 

"A lot of teams have a big budget to race, but I have a small, small budget," Trépanier recently said. "We do it with my family and a couple of friends and we work hard every week."

 

The Fall Foliage 200 is also the next-to-last event of the season for the ACT U.S. Tour. Two-time ACT Champion Wayne Helliwell Jr. holds a 13-point lead over defending Champion Joey Polewarczyk Jr., with the two having already swapped the point lead seven times this season. Both are former winners of the Fall Foliage 200, an event that dates back to 1972 at the former Catamount Stadium.

 

"The points battle has been so close that a bad finish will basically take you out of it," Pole said. "A third-place finish is not a good day. That's weird to say, but you'll lose points that way. It's definitely tough."

 

The top ACT drivers from the United States and Quebec look to add their name to a winner's list that includes seven-time champion Robbie Crouch, Bobby Dragon, Dave Dion, and Butch Lindley. Windham, ME's Brad Babb seeks his third win of the season, while number-four point driver Jeff White of Winthrop, ME looks for his first win of the year. Youngsters Emily Packard, Kyle Welch, Brandon Atkins, and Rowland Robinson Jr. are trying to finish the year strong, while Jimmy Hebert comes off an impressive showing in the Bond Auto ACT Invitational at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

 

Among the Quebec contingent, Alex Labbé is gunning for his second Fall Foliage 200 win and fifth of the season. Patrick Laperle will challenge for his fifth Fall Foliage victory. Jonathan Bouvrette has a big lead in the Bond Auto Parts New Champions standings and could seal the top spot with a win. Patrick Cliche and Martin Goulet Jr. have secured positions in the top-five in points but are looking for more.

 

The 41st Fall Foliage 200 for the ACT U.S. Tour and Série ACT is this Saturday, October 3 at Plattsburgh, NY's Airborne Park Speedway with a 2:00pm post time. The event also includes the Tiger Sportsman/Renegade American Racer Team Challenge, which features twin 25-lap features with both an overall winner and a team bonus for the division with the best combined results. Admission is $25 for adults and free for kids age 12 and under.

Stewart To Retire After 2016 Season; Passes Torch To Bowyer In 2017

 

KANNAPOLIS, N.C. (Sept. 30, 2015) – After 17 years competing at NASCAR's highest level, Tony Stewart has decided his 18th year in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series will be his last. The three-time series champion will retire following the 2016 season, whereupon Clint Bowyer will take the wheel of the No. 14 machine beginning in 2017.

 

Since 2009 Stewart has held the dual title of driver/owner at Stewart-Haas Racing (SHR). He co-owns the team with Gene Haas, founder of Haas Automation, the largest CNC machine tool builder in North America. Stewart will join Haas as a fulltime owner in 2017, with Bowyer being Stewart's hand-picked successor to drive the No. 14 car.

 

"This is a moment every driver eventually comes to terms with, and I know this is the right decision for me," said Stewart, owner of 48 Sprint Cup victories, 15 of which have come with SHR. "2016 will be my last year in a Sprint Cup car, but it's not my last year in NASCAR. I love this sport and I love being a part of it, and instead of seeing me in a firesuit on Sundays, you'll see me in a pair of jeans, and maybe even a pair of khakis.

 

"I plan to make the most of my final year as a driver in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, and part of that is to ensure that when Clint Bowyer takes over the No. 14 in 2017, he has everything he needs to win races and contend for the championship. I'm very comfortable with this decision and what the future holds for me and Stewart-Haas Racing."

 

Bowyer is an eight-time race winner in the Sprint Cup Series and finished second in the 2012 championship standings.

 

"Today is an incredible opportunity and I'm proud and excited to take over the No. 14 in 2017," said Bowyer, the 2008 NASCAR Xfinity Series champion. "Whether it's racing him on Sunday or watching my dirt late model teams race at his famed Eldora Speedway, Tony and I share the same passion for racing. Haas, who formed Haas CNC Racing in 2002 before partnering with Stewart to create SHR in 2009, embraces the transition.

Challenge 200 ce dimanche à l'Autodrome St-Eustache


La saison 2015 du complexe sport motorisé de l'Autodrome St-Eustache tire à sa fin, toutefois, 2 épreuves d'endurance sont à l'horaire lors des 2 prochains weekends. Les drags de rue du mercredi et jeudi quant à eux, continueront jusqu'à ce que la température le permette.


Dimanche le 4 octobre, les voitures à 4 cylindres de 94 po et plus d'empattement, envahiront la piste pour une épreuve de 200 tours. Plusieurs pilotes réguliers des différentes séries de l'ASE seront en piste alors que leur saison officielle est terminée depuis le 20 septembre dernier.


Dimanche le 11 octobre, ce sera au tour de bolides de 4, 6 et 8 cylindres de 101 po d'empattement et plus de se disputer la victoire dans une finale de 250 tours. L'Endurance 250, où comme plusieurs l'appelle, le ''250 tours'' tout court, est devenu au fil des ans, une épreuve classique de fin de saison.


Souvent imitées, jamais égalées, les épreuves d'endurance de l'Autodrome St-Eustache regroupent souvent années après années, le plus grand nombre de bolides au départ et sont sans contredit les plus spectaculaires au Québec. Regroupant tant des pilotes de course aguerries que des pilotes d'un jour, ce sont des courses qui savent tenir en haleine les spectateurs dans les gradins. Aucun drapeau jaune n'est déployé, seuls les drapeaux vert du départ, blanc du dernier tour et le quadrillé annonçant la fin de l'épreuve. Le drapeau rouge est utilisé seulement en cas d'obstacles majeurs et dans les cas ou un pilote éprouverait des difficultés pouvant être nuisibles à sa sécurité.


Plusieurs pilotes des quatre coins du Québec sont attendus pour se livrer une lutte des plus endiablées alors que les dépassements, les carambolages, les manœuvres spectaculaires et sensations fortes, sauront tenir les amateurs en haleine pendant les 200 tours et les 250 tours de ces épreuves respectives.

Alors que la saison automnale des couleurs est à nos portes, des voitures de toutes les couleurs déferleront sur la piste ovale de l'Autodrome St-Eustache afin de vous en faire voir de toutes les couleurs dès ce weekend.


C'est un rendez-vous le dimanche 4 octobre prochain à l'ASE, l'ouverture des puits est prévue pour 9h00, et le signal de départ est quant à lui prévu pour 14h00. L'admission générale est de 20,00$ et les enfants de 12 ans et moins sont admis gratuitement.
