NASCAR and Mack Trucks Announce Multi-Year Partnership

Iconic Mack Trucks to Transport NASCAR in Custom-Engineered Haulers

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Feb. 16, 2016) – Mack Trucks, one of the most iconic American brands, has entered into a multi-year national sports partnership with NASCAR. The collaboration designates Mack Trucks as the "Official Hauler of NASCAR®."

Each and every race week, NASCAR transports equipment and technology essential for facilitating the best racing in the world. Logging 450,000 miles a year, NASCAR has a unique travel structure that presents logistical challenges unlike any other sport. With its legendary Mack durability and performance, the Pinnacle model is the ideal truck to handle NASCAR's demanding schedule. Each of the trucks is equipped with a 505-horsepower, 13-liter Mack MP8® engine, the productivity-boosting Mack mDRIVE automated manual transmission and Mack's GuardDog® Connect telematics system. GuardDog Connect maximizes a truck's uptime by proactively monitoring the truck's performance and alerting customers to potential concerns.

Mack Trucks will utilize the partnership to engage dealers and potential customers across the nation year round. Additionally, Mack Trucks joins the NASCAR Fuel for Business Council®, which brings together an exclusive group of nearly 60 Official NASCAR Partners four times per year to construct customized deals that help address specific business needs.

"We're extremely excited about this partnership," said John Walsh, Mack vice president of marketing. "Joining forces with NASCAR offers us the opportunity to use the sport to exemplify the quality and reliability we've proven for more than a century."

NASCAR's Mack Pinnacle models embarked on the fleet's maiden journey to open the season at Daytona International Speedway in February. NASCAR will officially launch its 2016 season in the world's first motorsports stadium, a world class facility with premium amenities unmatched in the industry, with the 58th annual DAYTONA 500.

Writing was on the wall... A sad day in stock car racing. Pas surpris... Mais déçu. Une triste journée dans le monde du stock-car Source: Jayski's NASCAR Silly Season Site Wood Brothers Racing leaves Race Team Alliance: Wood Brothers Racing team members expressed disappointment Friday that they didn't receive one of 36 charters issued by NASCAR this week and said they had pulled out of the Race Team Alliance. The 36 teams with charters have automatic starting spots in each Sprint Cup race. The other four spots on each starting grid will be available to "open" teams like the Woods and their driver, Ryan Blaney, through qualifying. Although the Woods' team, one of the oldest in NASCAR, has been racing since the sanctioning body's first season, the fact that it has been running part-time over the past several years caused the #21 to fail to meet the numbers for a charter. Ironically, the Woods decided last year to run full-time this season and now face having to qualify via speed every week. Should Blaney be one of the 16 drivers to make the Chase for the Sprint Cup, under the current rules, he would have to qualify for those races too, taking one of the four Open slots in the new system. "It's all going to work out," said team co-owner Eddie Wood. "I promise. It's going to be OK." Jon Wood, Eddie's son and the team's business manager, said it was evident during preliminary charter discussions last season that the #21 would not be among the teams receiving charters.(USA Today), see transcript at Ford Racing (2-15-2016)

THE JOHNSONVILLE STAGE WILL ONCE AGAIN BE A HIVE OF ACTIVITY AT MOTORAMA

As well, company will unveil new product line and NASCAR car sponsorship

TORONTO, ON // FEBRUARY 12, 2016 • Last year, Johnsonville Sausage made a big impression on everyone who attended the inaugural Motorama Custom Car & Motorsports Expo Presented by Mothers.

The company was the sponsor of The Johnsonville Stage, where all of the show's awards presentations and discussion panels took place. In addition to that, Johnsonville had a large booth adjacent to the stage, from which they distributed sausage samples, displayed Adam Martin's NASCAR stock car and hosted celebrity guest Courtney Hansen for several autograph sessions.

Motorama returns to The International Centre March 11, 12 & 13, across from Toronto's Pearson Airport. Also returning for the second year will be The Johnsonville Stage. The location will be a constant hive of activity for all three days of the show, providing a fan-friendly platform for celebrity interviews, panel discussions, autograph sessions and award presentations.

And mere steps away from the stage, the Johnsonville Sausages booth will again be offering discount coupons and samples of the #1 sausage brand in Canada, as well as hosting 'meet & greet' sessions with drivers and Motorama celebrities.

"Car enthusiasts and race fans align well with Johnsonville's target consumer. We love being part of consumers outdoor grilling experiences as they share good times with friends and family" stated Brad Martin, Managing Director Canada for Johnsonville Sausage. "A show likeMotorama is a great opportunity to connect directly with race fans, sample our product and listen as they share their grilling experiences."

With a smirk, Martin then offered a "little teaser," revealing that the Johnsonville display at Motorama will also be the site of two unveilings. The first reveal will be the Canadian debut of a new Johnsonville product line, while the second will be plainly obvious, as Johnsonville introduces the newest entry in the NASCAR Pinty's Series; Canada's top stock car tour.

"We're very proud to be a part of the Motorama show, and we're excited to be, again this year, sponsoring The Johnsonville Stage," concluded Martin. "There will be a lot of excitement in the air as everyone prepares for the upcoming season, and we're very pleased to be given the opportunity to share in that excitement."

Speaking on behalf of Motorama, Mike Galipeau said, "Johnsonville is a great supporter of Canadian motorsports and we're honoured that they're returning as the sponsor of The Johnsonville Stage, where so many important events will once again take place. Between the stage and the adjacent Johnsonville booth – and the 'sampling' and unveilings that are scheduled to take place there – Johnsonville is going 'over and above' to connect with Motorama showgoers."

The schedule of events for the Johnsonville Stage – including times and participants for the celebrity Q&As, autographs sessions, media announcements, discussion panels, awards presentations and other events – will be published in the weeks leading up to the show at www.MotoramaShow.com.

Hoffman Battles Dillon for DIRTcar Nationals Win

Hoffman Battles Dillon for DIRTcar Nationals Win

BARBERVILLE, Fla. — Feb. 13, 2016 — Ty Dillon looked to be the driver to beat in Saturday night's DIRTcar UMP Modified Gator Qualifying feature at DIRTcar Nationals but Nick Hoffman had other ideas as he cruised to his third win at Volusia Speedway Park.

Dillon dominated the early part of the 20-lap modified feature building a large lead over Hoffman and Ray Bollinger. As the laps wound down though, Hoffman, who has been the class of the field at DIRTcar Nationals, closed the gap. As lapped traffic came into play, Hoffman made his move. He battled past Dillon off of turn four and took the lead on lap 16.

Dillon, a driver in NASCAR's Xfinity Series, tried to close the gap, but Hoffman marched to the win.

"Ty was really good," Hoffman said. "Once I got to about halfway I started to momentum my car around. It was really good. I think he still would have had me if it wasn't for that lap traffic deal. We'll take them as we can get them."

Hoffman won Tuesday and Wednesday night's modified features.

One night after his first did-not-finish result since September 2013, Donny Schatz rebounded at DIRTcar Nationals as he battled with Brad Sweet to score his first World of Outlaws Craftsman® Sprint Car Series win of the 2016 season.

Sweet, who won the Outlaws season opener on Friday night, was the class of the field on Saturday as he led 17 laps. Restarts proved pivotal for Schatz though as one on lap 16 eliminated Sweet's lead and another on lap 21 gave Schatz the opportunity he needed to get around Sweet.

Schatz said he was happy to move past the pressure of the once two-year-old streak and start building momentum toward an eighth series championship.

"It's kind of a relief to be over that hill of having that DNF that's been haunting us for I guess 180 races or whatever," Schatz said. "Now we can just focus on trying to win races."
"I'd be even better if we could win all of them," Schatz said. "That's what this team shoots for, that's what they aim for, and that's what they work hard for. We're here tonight and that's all that matters."
Nightly doubleheaders at Volusia run through Saturday, Feb. 20. The World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series returns on Sunday for its final night at DIRTcar Nationals. The DIRTcar UMP Modifieds returns for night two of Gator Qualifying.

Van Genderen’s Crate Dominates 75-Lapper at East Bay

Van Genderen's Crate Dominates 75-Lapper at East Bay
By Mike Spieker

TAMPA, FL (January 30, 2016) – A Sunshine State Modified Tour (SSTM) record 56 Mods were signed in for round number two at East Bay Raceway Park. Heat race wins went to David Reutimann, Mavrick Varnadore, KC Burdette, Max McLaughlin, and Tait Davenport.

Reutimann and Kevin "Buzzy" Adams lined up on the front row for the 75 lap, $5,000-to-win A-main as Mavrick Varnadore and Trent Young sat in row two. Reutimann beat Adams into turn one and pulled out to the early lead. Varnadore settled into the third spot as Friday night's podium once again held the top three positions. Adams kept up with Reutimann's blistering pace in the early running and made the pass for the lead on lap seven. It looked as through the four-time and defending WISSOTA national champion was destined for another SSMT victory. Following a lap 15 restart, however, Adams drove his RealTruck.com #40 to the low side of turn number one and looped his car right in front of the field.

As a result Reutimann inherited the lead once again as B-main winner Mike Van Genderen lined up right behind him in second from the 22nd starting position. The green flag flew and a great battle between Reutimann's open motor and Van Genderen's crate engine ensued. The two drivers swapped the lead back and forth for the next eight circuits. Van Genderen stayed loyal on the low side of the speedway while Reutimann banged the cushion upstairs. On lap 30 Van Genderen took the lead for good as Dyersburg, Tennessee's Preset Seratt battled Reutimann for second.

Reutimann's night came to an end on lap 35 when the powerplant on his Beak Built #00D expired down the backstretch, bringing out the caution. With five laps remaining before the mandatory fuel stop, Devin Dixon came from the 19th position and showed his muscle to challenged Van Genderen for the point. At the completion of lap 40 Dixon led Van Genderen to the line by a mere three-one-thousandths of a second as the race took a brief intermission.

Rockin' Ronny Luckock displayed the green flag as Dixon and Van Genderen paced the field to kick off the final 35 laps. Once again Van Genderen ran the bottom of the race track, which seemed to get a lot rougher as the race wore on, as Dixon had his deuce wound up along the cushion.

Van Genderen, running "the little crate that could" mustered past Dixon on lap 43 and took a lead that he would not relinquish. Despite valiant efforts from 12th place starter, Seratt, 14th place starter Kenny Wallace, 16th starter Rodney Wing, and Tait Davenport, Van Genderen proved that he was the class of the field and backed up his B-main win by taking the checkers and the $5,000 check that went along with it. Wing, Seratt, Trent Young, and 23rd place starter Lucas Lee rounded out the top five.

"This is the biggest win of my career," said an elated Van Genderen in victory lane. "I've never been to East Bay before in my life, this is awesome. I've been getting text messages all week saying, 'What are you doing bringing a Hornet to a UMP show?', but the little motor is what we needed on this type of night."

KARS EXPO AT MOTORAMA TO INCLUDE MORE THAN 50 PERFORMANCE ACCESSORY MANUFACTURERS AND FACTORY TECH SPECIALISTS

KARS EXPO AT MOTORAMA TO INCLUDE MORE THAN 50 PERFORMANCE ACCESSORY MANUFACTURERS AND FACTORY TECH SPECIALISTS

Area will also feature the 2015 Detroit Autorama Ridler Award-winning, Chip Foose-built 'Imposter'

TORONTO, ON // FEBRUARY 1, 2016 • Karbelt's Automotive Racing & Specialty Show – known as KARS Expo – is returning for a second year as part of the upcoming Motorama Custom Car & Motorsports Expo Presented by Mothers.

The show takes place March 11, 12 & 13 at The International Centre, across from Toronto's Pearson International Airport.

KARS Expo will again feature more than 50 performance accessory manufacturers and factory tech specialists in individual booths, sharing their expertise with, and showcasing their products to, Motorama showgoers. The 15,000+ square-foot KARS Expo area will also include several stunning vehicles, among them the 2015 Detroit Autorama Ridler Award winner 'The Imposter.'

Designed and built by the legendary Chip Foose, 'The Imposter' is owned by Canadians Don and Elma Voth, of Abbotsford, British Columbia. The 1965 Impala, which is built on the frame of a 2008 Corvette, was extensively modified and impeccably finished by Foose, earning it the coveted prize as the best hot rod at last year's prestigious Detroit show. 'The Imposter' is being presented in the KARS Expo display by Karbelt, Parts Pro and Motorama.

Discussing KARS Expo, Karbelt's Kevin Dundas said, "In the past, this type of hands-on show was reserved exclusively for trade professionals. But at KARS Expo at Motorama, automotive enthusiasts and racers can see all the new products and connect with the experts, here in Canada. Before, they would have had to travel to Las Vegas (SEMA) or Indianapolis (PRI Trade Show) to have access to this 'trade show' type experience, products and access."

The growing list of participating companies is available at www.KARSExpo.com. Past KARS Expo exhibitors have included: Edelbrock, Competition Cams, MSD, Quick Fuel Technologies, Autometer, Magnaflow, B&M Transmissions, Royal Purple, Ram Clutches, QA1 Motorsports, Aeromotive and many others.

Dundas continued, "It really is a unique turn-key opportunity for Canadian showgoers and automotive enthusiasts. You get to talk with the 'factory' people about your project, and get your 'wants list' firmed up. From there, you can purchase your parts at the on-site Parts Pro Performance Centre, or our staff can guide you to your nearest Parts Pro Performance Centre retailer! On top of all that, you get to see the Ridler Award winner and some other incredible cars."

Discussing KARS Expo's participation at Motorama, David Weber said, "We are extremely happy that Karbelt has committed to having KARS Expo be part of Motorama for at least the next two years. We had our first experience working with them at last year's show. It went really well, but we're all committed to making it even more successful going forward. As a feature, our attendees loved having access to the factory experts all in one place. And we're excited about partnering with Karbelt and Parts Pro to have the Chip Foose designed and built, Ridler award-winning 'Imposter' as a feature attraction in KARS Expo."

Additional KARS Expo news will be announced leading up to showtime.

CANADIAN MOTOR SPEEDWAY TO DISPLAY JEFF GORDON'S LAST RACE-WINNING CAR AT MOTORAMA

Canadian fans will have an opportunity to see and photograph Martinsville car that Gordon drove to victory lane and a spot in the 2015 Chase 'final four'

TORONTO, ON // FEBRUARY 1, 2016 • One of the highlights of four-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Jeff Gordon's final NASCAR Sprint Cup season last year was his milestone 93rd career series win, at Martinsville Speedway, which earned him a coveted 'final four' spot in The Chase for The NASCAR Sprint Cup.

To commemorate that win and Gordon's 23rd and final full-time season of competition, Canadian Motor Speedway (CMS) is extremely proud to present Gordon's 2015 No. 24 AARP Member Advantages Chevy SS that he raced to victory that day as the centrepiece of the CMS display at the upcoming Motorama Custom Car and Motorsports Expo Presented by Mothers.

The show takes place March 11, 12 & 13 at The International Centre, across from Toronto's Pearson Airport. Gordon's Martinsville-winning car in the CMS display will once again be one of the show's headline attractions.

This will be the sixth time that Canadian Motor Speedway has presented a version of Gordon's No. 24 car at the show, but this year marks a very rare and special occasion as one of Gordon's actual race-winning cars will be on display in Canada.

Continuing a very popular tradition, fans can once again meet and speak with John Bickford Sr. Bickford is the stepfather and the man behind the illustrious career of Gordon, the designer of Canadian Motor Speedway.

"I'm looking forward to attending the Motorama Custom Car & Motorsports Expo and the opportunity to talk with race fans and supporters of CMS," said Bickford. "It's something I look forward to every spring. Each year, we strive to bring a unique show car to Motorama. This year, we'll have Jeff's 93rd win Martinsville car."

This year, Niagara College's Motive Power Program, Applied Research Centre, and The Walker Advanced Manufacturing Innovation Centre will be exhibiting their technologies, together with CMS, showcasing their Hybrid Trainer and a 3D printed model of Canadian Motor Speedway. Fans will be able to see CMS's motorsports stadium take shape in 3D form with preliminary specifications from CMS architects, IBI Group.

Motorama attendees can take photos with the No. 24 race car in CMS's 'Victory Lane' and also connect with CMS owners and the management team for the latest progress updates and construction plans for the signature speedway designed by Gordon.

"Jeff's great run last season and his historic win at Martinsville was a moment of tremendous pride for all of us. We are absolutely excited this year to showcase Jeff's actual winning race car at our display to commemorate and celebrate his stellar racing career. This will truly be a memorable event for the thousands of Jeff Gordon fans who visit with us each year at Motorama," commented CMS Executive Director and Partner Azhar Mohammad.

Discussing CMS' participation at the show, the show's David Weber said, "We're honoured that the CMS team has once again included Motorama in their efforts to educate Canadian racing fans about the project. They've recently cleared some hurdles and we're all looking forward to attending races there. In the meantime, having the last car that Jeff Gordon took to victory lane join John Bickford and the owners and management team in the CMS booth is just incredible."
