CONCORD, NC — August 24, 2017 — One lucky competitor at the OneDirt World Short Track Championship at the Dirt Track at Charlotte Motor Speedway from October 26 – 28, 2017 will walk away a winner of a brand-new Chevrolet Performance crate motor.

By registering for competition for the second annual OneDirt World Short Track Championship, each competitor will be entered into a raffle for a brand-new Chevrolet Performance crate motor. However, drivers who complete their advanced registration prior to the event will receive a SECOND entry into the drawing, doubling their chances to win — so register today!

The inaugural OneDirt World Short Track Championship attracted more than 300 racers across all divisions for three nights of thrilling dirt track racing. The second edition of the popular event will once again give grassroots racers a rare chance to battle at Charlotte's impressive dirt track. This year's event will feature DIRTcar Pro Late Model and SECA Late Models, DIRTcar UMP Modifieds, DIRTcar Northeast Sportsman Modifieds, DIRTcar Pro Modified/SECA Crate Modifieds, DIRTcar Pro Sprints, SECA Crate Sportsman, MMSA Mini-Stocks, and the FWD/Hornets/DIRTcar Sport Compacts.

The 2017 OneDirt World Short Track Championship will once again be broadcast on DIRTVision.comwith live streaming pay-per-view, increasing the exposure for some of dirt track racing's most exciting divisions.

Two-day general grandstand admission (Friday and Saturday) will be $55 for adults. Children 13 and under get in free. Single-day general admission will also be available. Tickets will be sold at the track only, during the days of the event. Barre, Vt. – Hometown driver Jason Corliss scored his third Thunder Road Late Model win of the season in dramatic fashion at Jet Service Envelope/Accura Printing Night on Thursday, August 24. The number-thee point driver fended off fellow Barre competitor Cody Blake and South Burlington's Trampas Demers in a three-car thriller to take his seventh career Late Model victory in the Thursday night finale.

Corliss appeared to have the race in hand after getting the jump on Milton's Eric Chase following the second and final restart on lap-29 of the 50-lap event and pulling out to a big advantage. But Blake reeled him in after getting around Chase and began looking to Corliss' outside in the closing laps.

Blake then pulled a crossover move exiting turn two with three laps remaining to get inside Corliss, and the leaders racing side-by-side allowed Demers to get into the mix. Coming off the final corner, Corliss was able to use the momentum of the outside groove to hang on for the win as the trio slid across the line under a blanket.

Blake's runner-up finish was his fourth straight top-two result while Demers took third to claim his division-leading seventh podium spot of the season. Point leader Bobby Therrien of Hinesburg came in fourth to unofficially maintain his 31-point advantage over Demers after getting a better finish in the Maplewood Semi-Feature. Chase, Matt White, Christopher Pelkey, Darrell Morin, Marcel J. Gravel, and Kyle Pembroke completed the top-10.

Hinesburg's Trevor Lyman scored his fourth win of the year in the Lenny's Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers. Lyman crossed the line a distant second to rookie Jaden Perry of Hardwick in the 40-lap feature, but inherited the win after both Jaden Perry and apparent fifth-place finisher Jamon Perry were disqualified for rear end infractions. It was Lyman's ninth career victory in the division.

Point leader Jason Woodard of Waterbury Center assumed the second spot in the final rundown after crossing the line glued to Lyman's rear bumper. Morrisville's Dwayne Lanphear took third followed by Brendan Moodie, Mike Billado, Mark Barnier, Mike Martin, Streeter, Jason Pelkey, and Burt Spooner III. Woodard unofficially extended his margin over Moodie to 22 points with two point-counting events remaining.

Williamstown's Tommy "Thunder Smith" captured his second Allen Lumber Street Stock win of the year and 31^st of his career in their 25-lap feature. Smith took the lead from polesitter Scott Weston of Berlin on the opening lap and held of Fairfax's Alan Maynard on a pair of late restarts for the victory.

Maynard earned the second spot while rookie Logan Powers of Middlesex finished third. Dean Switser Jr., Kelsea Woodard, Jamie Davis, Gary Mullen, Stephen Martin, Matthew Smith, and Kevin Streeter finished fourth through 10^th. Hinesburg's Cooper Bouchard unofficially saw his point lead shrink to just four markers over Davis and Maynard after being involved in a lap-18 incident for the second straight week.

Barre's Tyler Pepin was a first-time winner in the Burnett Scrap Metals Road Warrior 20-lap feature. Pepin got inside Julian Gorman for the lead on lap six and survived a hard charge from fellow hometown driver Jeffrey Martin in the final circuits. East Hardwick's Kevin Keene inherited the third spot after James Dopp was disqualified for a camber violation. Gorman, Benjamin Ashford, Frank Putney, Cole Smith, Eric Young, Ryan McCarthy, and Trevor Rossi also earned top-10 finishes.

Berlin's Justin Lawrence was the "Run-What-U-Brung" winner in the eight-cylinder division behind the wheel of a 1984 Chevrolet Corvette. Fayston's Paul Dudley took the four-and-six cylinder division title in a 1998 Toyota Corolla.

Thunder Road returns to action with the 39^thLabor Day Classic 200 presented by the Coca-Cola Bottling Company on Sunday, September 3 at 1:00pm. The ACT Late Model Tour makes its second visit of the year to the Barre high banks for 200 laps of green-flag action. The Lenny's Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers, Allen Lumber Street Stocks, and Burnett Scrap Metals Road Warriors will also be in action. Admission is $25 for adults and free for kids ages 12 and under.

Fireworks Saturday at Airborne

PLATTSBURGH – The 2017 racing season is quickly coming to a close at Airborne Park Speedway. Just two point counting events remain for the Egglefield Ford DIRTcar Modifieds and Fidelis Care DIRTcar Sportsman.

This Saturday's racing card is McBride Chevrolet & Subaru fireworks and "Salute to our Heroes" Military Night presented by John W. Sheehan & Sons Excavation. The Poirier's True Value Renegades, Busch Beer Mini-Mods and Strictly Stocks will be in action in addition to the Modifieds and Sportsman divisions. Speedway Illustrated Publisher, Karl Frederickson will be on hand, turning laps in the Jeffords Steel, Huntley Trucking, Begor's Supply, Gisioa's Wine & Spirits No. 19 backup machine out of the Jamy Begor stable.

The North Country Honor Flight will also be on hand as they will take part in a ceremony to start the night in our post parade. Between 10 and 15 members will be a part of the ceremony and then enjoy the night of racing.

The rescheduled fireworks presentation from the beginning of July will take place at the conclusion of the racing card. Dr. Joe Clauss and his team of pyrotechnic specialists will light the Airborne sky with an even larger show than last season, as even more money has been added to the presentation since the July cancellation.

The following weekend will feature a late addition to the racing schedule. The Modifieds will run a 50-lap event for $2,000 to win and $200 to take the green flag. All of the regular racing divisions will be included on the schedule for September 2.

Admission prices for this Saturday will be $15 for adults with kids ages 12 and under free of charge. Active and retired military personnel with proper I.D. will also be free of charge. Weekly Racers Look to Make a Difference at Peterborough Speedway

The year's first green flag waved Saturday, May 20^th to kick-off Peterborough Speedway's 50^thAnniversary Season and since then, teams in the track's 5 weekly classes have been earning points that will count toward the 2017 track championships. The second-to-last night of racing in the regular season leaves the starting blocks Saturday, August 26^th with action in the hometown Battlefield Equipment Rental 4Fun, Thunder Car and Organics & Glass Late Model divisions; along with the Trailers Plus Eastern Ontario Legends and Ontario Modifieds Racing Series.

Across the board, drivers will be out to make a difference in their finishing positions when the final point standings are tallied. Everyone would love to earn the overall title in their respective class, but there isn't a single team in the pit area that doesn't want to finish at least one position higher than where they sit heading into the last 2 nights of racing. Peterborough Speedway owner and promoter J.P. Josiasse says the battles are tighter than they've been in a number of seasons.

"A couple of spots gained on the track could change the outcome of as many as 5 positions in a division," Josiasse said. "Night after night and week after week, we've seen some incredibly close runs. Last week, the top 2 teams in the Late Model field enter the night with a difference of a single point between them. There's a good chance that things might not be settled until the final checkered flag of the Championship Clash Saturday, September 2^nd."

Josiasse says he doesn't think the championships in any of the weekly classes at Canada's Toughest 3^rd of a Mile Paved Oval is a sure thing, so fans are guaranteed to see some exciting racing, with every driver making sure their equipment is ready for anything that can happen. For the Saturday, August 26^th event, pit gates will open at 3:00 with the general admission grandstands unlocked at 5:00. The night's first Great Canadian RV green flag will fly at 6:00.

Barre, Vt. – Barre's Thunder Road hosts its final Thursday night event of the 2017 racing season this Thursday, August 24 with Jet Service Envelope/Accura Printing Night. All four divisions will be in action as drivers set themselves up for the final push in their title chases.

In addition to a full card of action for the Thunder Road Late Models, Lenny's Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers, Allen Lumber Street Stocks, and Burnett Scrap Metals Road Warriors, the program will feature the annual "Run-What-You-Brung" spectator races. Drivers ages 18 or older will compete in one-on-one single lap races in their street-legal vehicles around the Barre high banks. All vehicles need to be registered, inspected, and insured, and competitors must purchase a pit pass and wear an approved safety helmet. Competitors must register by 6:00pm and the field will be capped at 50 entries.

"The Run-What-U-Brung has been part of the Thursday night finale for several years now, and we think it's a perfect way to give the fans something fun as we close out the weekly schedule," Thunder Road co-owner Cris Michaud said. "When you add in the three championship battles and a Road Warrior class that's been growing with each event, everyone is in for a real treat this Thursday."

Just two point-counting events remain for the Thunder Road Late Models as they fight to determine the 2017 "King of the Road". Hinesburg's Bobby Therrien sits in the catbird seat after capturing his fifth Maplewood Semi-Feature victory and finishing fourth in the main event last Thursday. The result extended his lead to 31 points over South Burlington's Trampas Demers despite Demers' third-place feature effort.

Barre's Jason Corliss and Milton's Scott Dragon sit a distant third and fourth in the standings, respectively. Another Barre driver, Cody Blake, is closing fast on both after posting three straight top-two finishes. Counting the American-Canadian Tour event on June 11, Thunder Road has seen 12 different Late Model winners in 13 events on the season, with several other drivers looking to steal the spotlight in the final weeks.

The Lenny's Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers remain closely contested between 2014 Champion Jason Woodard of Waterbury Center and 2015 Champion Brendan Moodie of Wolcott. Woodard maintains an 11-point edge over Moodie after rallying back from a midrace spin last Thursday due to a flat tire, finishing sixth to Moodie's third-place result.

1991 Tiger Champion Dwayne Lanphear of Morrisville and three-time 2017 feature winner Trevor Lyman of Hinesburg sit third and fourth, 57 and 62 points back of Woodard. Top rookie Jaden Perry of Hardwick is far back in fifth after a hard encounter with the wall early in Thursday's feature. Both the Tigers and Street Stocks have three point-counting events left on their schedule.

Hinesburg's Cooper Bouchard remains atop the Allen Lumber Street Stock standings, but the ranks have tightened up after their most recent outing. 2015 Champion Jamie Davis of Wolcott used his ninth career Street Stock victory to climb to second in the standings 18 points behind Bouchard.

Morrisville's Brandon Lanphear sits another point back in third. Fairfax's Alan Maynard, Waterbury Center's Kelsea Woodard, and Lyndonville's Dean Switser Jr. could also mathematically leave this Thursday's event with the top spot. The Street Stock Rookie of the Year battle looks like it will go down to the wire as well, with Craftsbury Common's Stephen Martin holding a 10-point advantage over Middlesex's Logan Powers.

The final Thursday night event of the Thunder Road season goes to post at 7:00pm on August 24. The pits for Jet Service Envelope/Accura Printing Night open at 3:30pm and the front gates open at 5:15pm. Admission for the packed program is just $12 for adults, $3 for kids ages 6-12, and $25 for a family of four (2 adults, 2 kids).

NEW DATES FOR FALL BRAWL AND OCTOBERFAST ENDURO AT SPEEDWAY 51 POWERED BY THE AUTOSAVER GROUP

Due to several date conflicts with other racing events this fall, Speedway 51 powered by the Autosaver Group has announced date changes for their 2017 Fall Brawl and the 2017 Octoberfast Enduro. These changes will allow more race teams the flexibility to race in these events without having to choose between conflicting dates.

The "Lil Joey Generation Next 151" Fall Brawl was originally scheduled for Friday and Saturday, September 15th and 16th. The new date for the Fall Brawl weekend will be Friday and Saturday, October 6th and 7th. On Friday October 6th, Go-Kart Madness will take place with three classes competing including Rookies, Mini-Pro's and Adults. Post time is 5pm. Following the Go-Karts events the Twisted Tea Angels, White Mountains Community College Cyclones and A.B. Excavating Daredevils will wrap up their season at the Fall Brawl with the Angels and Cyclones racing for theirrespective championships. The Daredevils will run Twin 20's, while the Cyclones will race for 50 laps and the Angels for 30 laps to decide their titles. Post time is 8pm, and general admission tickets for the grandstands are just $5.

Then on Saturday, October 7th, the "Lil Joey Generation Next 151" Fall Brawl, $5,000 to win, 151 lap,North Country Ford Late Model event will take place starting at 5pm. Joining the Late Models will be the Perras Ace Hardware Tiger Sportsman and the Caron Fabrication Street Stocks.

OCTOBERFAST 2017 RESCHEDULED

The 1st Annual Octoberfast 150 Enduro has been rescheduled from Saturday, October 7th to Saturday, October 21st at 2pm. The $2,000 to win Enduro featuring 4, 6, & 8 cylinder cars, trucks and mini-vans will hit Speedway 51's high banks with vengeance chasing the first place money and trophy. Brandt Graham Sweeps the Sportsman Cup Series Double-Dip at Flamboro Speedway

As home to 4 events on this year's schedule, teams with the Lucas Oil Sportsman Cup Series will have a wide variety of options available to them where race day set-ups are concerned. After recording a second-place finish during the first tour stop – Saturday, May 13^th and taking a pair of 50 lap features a month and a half later, no one could blame Brandt Graham for looking forward to his return to venerable Hamilton, Ontario raceway for a Saturday, August 19^th event.

"Any time you see a lot of a particular track and have some success there, you enjoy going back there," Brandt Graham said. "Our team makes some amazing notes everywhere we go, so I'm always confident that our equipment will be the best it can be whenever the green flag waves."

The 19 year-old from Orono, Ontario is the reigning series champion and current point leader. Fresh from the most recent win on his resume, where he led all 100 laps at Peterborough Speedway, the second-generation speedster – who recently graduated from Durham College – time-trailed in the runner-up position during qualifying.

At the drop of the green flag, Graham started 3^rd as result of the Fast 5 post qualifying re-draw. Originally scheduled to be run as a 100 lapper, the race distance was switched to a pair of 50 lap segments. Tour and track officials then made the decision to change things to a couple of 30 lap features after another competitor had an engine expire and clean-up was deemed to take too much time. The first session saw its checkered flag with the #14 car at the head of the field. For the second stanza, the top 5 opening round finishers were inverted for the next green flag of the night.

Coming from 5^th place to start round 2, Brandt Graham began planning his strategy to get to the front of the field. Knowing there wasn't much time to work with, he took at patiently aggressive approach in search of the win. Knowing that the team had given him a good piece, the driver quickly found his rhythm and swept both event segments for the second time this season.

"It was almost like a regular Saturday night main event," Brandt Graham said. "The weekly division features at most tracks are 20 or 25 laps, so these ones were just a bit longer. ASE 19 aout, Victoire de Jo Bouvrette, 2 podiums pour Côté.

Dame nature aura choyé les nombreux amateurs à avoir rempli les gradins de l'Autodrome St-Eustache samedi dernier lors de la présentation d'un 100 tours de la série ACT, jumelée à la huitième manche de nos séries locales.

Série ACT:

Éclatante victoire de l'enfant chéri de l'ASE, Jonathan Bouvrette #41, ce dernier aura dominé lors de la présentation de la cinquième manche de la série ACT Québec. Une épreuve de 100 passages où le pilote de Blainville se sera imposé après une relance avec à peine une vingtaine de tours complétés. Patrick Laperle #91, aura bien tenté de déstabiliser Bouvrette lors des quelques relances suivantes en lui "soulevant la jupe" délicatement dans les virages 1 et 2, mais rien à faire, après quelques tours, le pilote de la #41 se forgeait à chaque occasion une confortable avance. Laperle se contentera d'une deuxième position au final. Steve Côté #1, annonçait possiblement ses intentions pour la saison 2018 en participant à la fête lui aussi. Prenant le départ de la 11em place d'une intéressante grille de 19 voitures, le meneur de tout ce qui est championnat Sportsman / LMS Nascar au Québec aura arrêté sa progression à la troisième marche du podium, et ce, même si la deuxième place aurait été à sa porté... On ne voulait probablement pas foutre le bordel dans un championnat aussi âprement disputé. Patrick Cliche #5, ainsi que "L'homme de Fer" Claude Leclerc #11 complète quant à eux le "Top-5". Les trois vagues de qualifications furent remportées respectivement par, Leclerc #11, Dany Trépanier #19, ainsi que Bouvrette #41.

NB: Les résultats de l'épreuve ACT sont à titre provisoire, des pièces de suspension ont été saisies sur les voitures afin d'en valider la conformité. Les résultats définitifs seront confirmés, ou rectifiés plus tard cette semaine par les officiels de la série.

Série Nascar Sportsman Lucas Oil:

Septièmes victoires en huit départs pour Steve Côtè #1... Mais ô combien mérité. Alors que l'ont fait la présentation des pilotes devant les gradins, Côté et ses coéquipiers soupçonnent une possible crevaison lente sur l'un des pneumatiques de la voiture. Les soupçons se confirmeront dès les premiers tours de l'épreuve, si bien qu'au profit d'un ralentissement au 3em passages, le pilote de la Toyota #1 doit retraiter aux puits pour remédier à la situation. À la relance, Côté se retrouve à la queue des 20 voitures qui s'affrontaient lors de cette finale de 75 passages. Qu'à cela ne tienne, le pilote de l'Ile-Bizard mettra moins d'une vingtaine de tours avant de se hisser dans le "Top-5", puis une quinzaine d'autre à négocier avec le coriace Sylvain Lacombe #3Jr pour la deuxième place, et finalement, au profit d'une relance, ravir la position de tête au #18 de Jo Mayer. Malgré trois autres relances, jumelées à la pression du 3Jr pour tenter de le pousser à l'erreur, rien n'empêchera Côté de récolter un septième gain cette saison. Sylvain Lacombe #3Jr termine deuxième, alors que Maxime Gauvreau #7, monte sur la dernière marche d'un podium pour la première fois en 2017. Jean-François Bouvrette #38, ainsi qu'Alexandre Jeannotte #23, complète quant à eux... Encore le "Top-5". Plus tôt en journée, Côté #1, Gauvreau #7 ainsi que Bouvrette #38, l'avaient emporté lors des qualifications.

Série Nascar Légende Modifiée / Thérien Performance:

Après un intermède d'un programme, Stéphane Caron #99, était de retour sur la plus haute marche du podium. Le champion en titre n'aura eu besoin que de deux tours avant de confortablement s'installer devant les 24 compétiteurs ayant pris le départ de cette finale de 40 passages. Sébastien Lapolice #11, ainsi que François Verville #56, l'ont accompagné sur le podium, alors que les Mick Fong #23, et Yannick Thibeault #73 ont quant à eux complété le "Top-5". À noter une décevante 17em position, suite à des déboires en piste, pour Jessy Lambert #64 qui, avant le début des hostilités, trônait au sommet du classement de la série. Caron #99, Lambert #64, tout comme Joanie Lambert #48 (la soeur de l'autre) et seule dame en séries Nascar de l'ASE, l'avaient emporté plus tôt en journée lors des préliminaires.

Série Nascar Sport-Compacte / MRQ Présenté par ZSB Distribution:

Olivier Labbé-Pelletier #110, un régulier de la série Sport-Compacte Élite du circuit de Vallée-Jonction en Beauce, cause une certaine surprise en dominant, et ce, de façon non équivoque, tant en préliminaires, qu'en course, tout le plateau de la division 3 de nos séries Nascar. Victorieux en qualifications, le pilote de la Honda #110 ne mettra que 4 tours avant de s'emparer des commandes d'une l'épreuve prévu de 30 passages et ainsi venir donner une "leçon de pilotage" à nos pilotes locaux. Après les inspections d'usages, ce fut Yannick Miron #90, ainsi Robin Harrisson #3, qui l'auront finalement accompagné sur le podium. Jessy Lee Desravines #31, tout comme Jean-Philippe Laberge #24, complètent quant à eux le "Top-5". Laberge #24, Labbé-Pelletier #110, ainsi que Desravines #31, l'avaient aussi emporté lors en vagues de préliminaires.

Série Challenge-4 / Perry Performance:

Huitièmes épreuves de la saison pour ces pilotes de la série de développement de l'ASE, et encore une fois, pratiquement un copier-coller des sept précédentes. Keven Huet #05, débute sa journée de travail par une victoire en qualification, et la conclut avec un gain de plus à son palmarès de la saison 2017. Louis-Alexandre Dupuis #100, (vainqueur de l'autre qualification) ainsi que Patrick Mayo #51 l'ont suivi sous le drapeau à damier, alors que les Jason Morand #59, ainsi que Jeffrey Laporte #00, complètent le "Top-5".

Les amateurs de courses sur piste ovale n'auront pas à patienter longtemps, puisque dès le weekend prochain, nos trois séries Nascar, ainsi que la série de développement de l'Autodrome St-Eustache seront de retour pour une autre soirée d'actions et d'émotions sous les réflecteurs.
