DU DÉRY À SON MEILLEUR!

Jean-François, voiture #21 de Québec a tenu sa promesse de vaincre son rival Donald Theetge et de gravir la première marche du podium. Promesse tenue dans ce 125 tours de la Série CSCC qui ne passera certainement pas à l'histoire du côté action.

Mais les amateurs présents ont eu droit à une finale très rapide avec seulement trois neutralisations et quelques dépassements en début de course et ensuite en milieu de peloton. Une finale LKQ 125 signée Jean-François Déry, Dany Trépanier# 19 de St-Édouard de Lotbinière  et Donald Theetge de Neufchatel.

Parti troisième Déry n'a pris que 4 tours pour dépasser les Marc-André Cliche et Martin Goulet Junior et prendre les commandes. Dany Trépanier parti 5ième la rejoint au 15ième passage pour même prendre la tête du 27 au 29ième tour. Par la suite Déry met le gaz au fond et conserve son avance d'une ou deux voitures sur Trépanier jusqu'à la fin de l'épreuve. Theetge parti huitième les rejoint au 30ième tour et nos trois pilotes conservent leur position respective jusqu'à la tombée du quadrillé. En tout Déry a mené le bal pendant 117 tours sur 125.

Pier-Luc Ouellette # 48 de Terrebonne et Marc-André Cliche de Vallée-Jonction complètent le Big Five. A noter que 15 voitures sur 17 ont terminé sur le même tour que le meneur. Ça augure bien pour le 200 tours du 21 juillet, toujours à Montmagny.

Les qualifications d'avant course ont été remporté par Déry et Steve Côté.

Autre finale de 50 tours très rapide remportée par Stéphan Lecours #100,5 de Lac Etchemin, suivi de Martin Bisson #26 de Saints-Anges et de Jimmy Roy #97 de Victoriaville. Bisson et Steve Lavigne avaient remporté les qualifications antérieures.

HOBBY FRAMECO

Journée signéé Gabriel Légaré #14 de Fossambault sur Le Lac qui après avoir remporté sa qualification monte sur la première marche du podium devant Stéphan Hamilton #91 de Lévis et de Éric Thibault #3 de Montmagny. Ces trois pilotes ont bataillé ferme durant toute cette finale de 25 tours pour tenir le public en haleine du début à la fin.

 

SAMEDI 23 JUIN

GARIÉPY, GODBOUT ET DESPONTS L'EMPORTENT

Dany Gariépy #37 de Québec a fait toute une remontée pour remporter le Steve Lesage LKQ 150 devant Jimmy Nadeau #17 de Beauceville et Louis-Philippe Lauzier #72 de St-Pacôme. Ces trois pilotes ont offert tout un spectacle surtout Lauzier qui après avoir mené pendant une vingtaine de tours, l'a échappé en sortant de la courbe #2. Il est reparti avec les voitures sur le même tour, soit huitième pour finalement prendre la troisième position.

Sylvain Labbé #40 et Jonathan Côté #07 ont remporté leur qualification respective.

En classe Sport Compact Élite Oricom, Steve Godbout #75 gagne sa qualification et la grande finale devant Marc-Antoine Carrier #76 et De Tommy Larouche #14.

En Classe Hobby Frameco, Éric Despont #51de St-Anselme remporte la finale devant le #99 de Christopher Bernier de L'islet et du #14 de Gabriel Légaré de Fossambault sur le Lac.

Détenant un palmarès à succès en tant que pilote de course d'endurance, il n'a de cesse de vouloir performer au volant de sa voiture #04 Spectra Premium | Bernier Crépeau Chrysler Fiat | Groupe Bellemare | MIA, et ce, peu importe le type de circuit. C'est avec la même pugnacité qu'il se présentera ce samedi à l'Autodrome Chaudière (Vallée-Jonction, Québec).

Autodrome Chaudière

 

A l'instar de la piste du Riverside International Speedway (Antigonish, Nouvelle-Écosse, 9e épreuve - 18 août 2018), considérée comme la réplique du célèbre Bristol Motor Speedway (Bristol, Tenesse, États-Unis), l'Autodrome Chaudière est surnommé « Le petit Bristol québécois ». Cette piste ovale asphaltée (un quart de mile) est également la plus inclinée au Québec.

 

Cette épreuve de 300 tours se déroulera en deux parties : les puits situés à l'extérieur de la piste nécessitent un arrêt complet de la course, prévu par la série à la mi-course. Les pilotes peuvent également entrer aux puits à tout autre moment au cours de l'épreuve.

 

Challenge et action seront au rendez-vous ce week-end à l'Autodrome Chaudière. Soyez des nôtres pour le départ de la course à 20h.

22 RACING DRIVERS LOOKING FORWARD TO FIRST 
QUEBEC EVENT OF 2018
 
Milverton, ON, Wednesday June 27, 2018:   The NASCAR Pinty's Series heads to Quebec this weekend for the first of three Quebec events this season.  The Bumper to Bumper 300, event three of the season, will take place on Saturday June 30th at Autodrome Chaudiere south of Quebec City in Vallee-Jonction.
 
22 Racing have had a measure of success at this track starting with team owner Scott Steckly who dominated the 2015 event only to experience a part failure with 28 laps to go.  The current list of drivers including #18 Alex Tagliani in the EpiPen/Rona/St-Hubert Camaro, #22 Marc-Antoine Camirand in the GM Paille entry and #24 Donald Theetge in the Mercedes-Benz St. Nicolas/Circuit Acura car have posted four top fives and one pole in seven combined starts.
 
Currently sitting third in the NASCAR Pintys Series point standings driver Camirand is making only his second start at this track.  He competed in the full 2015 series schedule and started 16th with an 11th place finish.  His second-place finish at CTMP and fourth at Jukasa have given him a good start to the season and his current points ranking.  "After a strong top 5 finish at Jukasa looking forward to smaller Autodrome Chaudiere," said Camirand.  "I'm sure there will be a lot of action but the #22 GM Paille Camaro ZL1 will be fast as usual, so we are looking forward to a strong finish."
 
Tagliani coming off his first podium of the season, a second-place finish at Jukasa two weeks ago will be looking for another podium finish to match or better his third-place finish here in 2016.  In four starts he has two top five finishes to his credit. "Excited for the third round this weekend, as obviously the first two were good for us," said Tagliani.  "I'm pleased with the team as they have been doing a fantastic job especially with a new car we didn't get to test before Jukasa.  Again, they are showing good team spirit this year and it is a real pleasure to work with them and the performance of the cars has been strong.  After our bad luck while leading at CTMP with 3-1/2 laps to go, we are clawing our way back up in the championship and making up points.  The third round is very important to us and hopefully with another race under our belt with our car we can get another good result.  It is important because our schedule is getting busy with racing and with lots of appearances and cool stuff with the sponsors."
 
Theetge coming off two tough races to the start of the NASCAR Pinty's Series season will be looking to turn his season around this weekend.  In two previous starts at Autodrome Chaudiere he has notched one pole and two top five finishes.  A great place to rebound from the slow season start.  "With the bad start to our season we need at the minimum a podium finish to get us back on track in the points," said Theetge.  "But a win is really on my mind and I have the team to help me get there."
 
The schedule for the Bumper to Bumper 300 from Autodrome Chaudiere in Vallee-Jonction Quebec has NASCAR Pinty's Series practice at 1:30, qualifying at 4:15, autograph session on track at 6:45and green flag at 8:00 p.m. As there is no pit road at Autodrome Chaudiere there will be a competition caution break near or at the half way point of the 300 lap race.  The teams will exit the track and go to their assigned pit stalls to make adjustments, change tires and add fuel.  The field will line up as they crossed the start finish line prior to the break for the restart.
 
Autodrome Chaudiere is a ¼ mile high banked oval that is considered to be the most banked track in Quebec. They are accredited as a NASCAR Home Track and hosted their first NASCAR Pinty's Series race in June 2014.

WEST HAVEN, Vt. – The fuse has officially been lit for the annual "Firecracker Spectacular" event at Devil's Bowl Speedway.  Rutland County's biggest and loudest Independence Day celebration is shaping up to be the best yet, with a massive fireworks show and as many as 100 racecars expected for the Tuesday, July 3 special presented by Bruno's Towing & Recovery.

If the early season action has been any indication, then Tuesday's event will be a whopper.  The weekly NASCAR Whelen All-American Series divisions have been nothing short of thrilling through the first month of racing on the new half-mile dirt surface, often running three-, four-, and even five-wide in the corners.

The Sprint Cars of New England (SCoNE) tour will be in town for its second appearance of the season on Tuesday night.  Two-time champion Danny Douville of Bridgewater, N.H., proved why he's called the "Topside Tornado" in the last SCoNE race in May, running from 12th to the victory with a dominant drive on the outside lane.

The Central Vermont Motorcycles Sportsman Modifieds have boasted an average of 28 entries per race so far.  Eight-time champion Kenny Tremont Jr. of West Sand Lake, N.Y., has won twice, but rising star Josh Sunn of White River Junction, Vt., has quickly found a home at Devil's Bowl and has a pair of wins as well.  Tim LaDuc, David Schilling, Joey Scarborough, and Jimmy Ryan are all close behind, along with a dozen other potential winners.

Sixteen year-old Travis Billington of South Glens Falls, N.Y., has led the O'Reilly Auto Parts Limited Sportsman division thus far, but Paolo Pascarella has been hot on his heels.  Former asphalt driver Joey Roberts recently scored his first dirt win and is gaining along with Brent Warren, Adam Piper, R.J. Germain, and others.

Defending Super Stock champion Chris Murray of Fair Haven, Vt., is off to a good start with three wins, but still can't shake Billy Duprey, Scott FitzGerald, or the rest of the pack.  The wild Portland Glass Mini Stock division is up for grabs in 2018, and Chris Conroy of Newport, N.H., leads the early standings.  The Friend Construction 500cc Mini Sprint division has seen major growth, and 13 year-old Cody O'Brien of Springfield, Vt., leads the way.

The Firecracker Spectacular wouldn't be complete, of course, without a gigantic fireworks display, which is scheduled for approximately 9:30 p.m.   The event also features the annual Kids Bicycle Giveaway at intermission, when young fans win new bikes donated by drivers and race teams.

Special event admission is $20 for adults, $18 for seniors, $5 for teens (13-17), and free for kids age 12 and under. Gates open at 4:30 p.m. and racing starts at 6:00 p.m. Camping is free and opens on Sunday at 12:00 noon.

Rain Cancels Ontario Legends Series Date at Grand Bend Speedway

Its becoming increasingly clear that Mother Nature isn't a race fan. She doesn't care about Matt Haufe's 2 trips to victory lane or the single event triumphs by Kevin Foisy and Alex McCollum. Saturday, June 23rd she stole another event from the Trailers Plus Ontario Legends Series, with the cancellation of its date at Grand Bend Speedway. Counting the rescheduled season opener at Sunset Speedway – that was originally planned to be a National Qualifier – the forecast has been in the way of 3 shows on this year's tour.

 

"All the teams work really hard to make sure their equipment is ready because they want to race. Its tough when an event gets delayed or cancelled because the conditions don't co-operate," said Andrew McFadden, who along with Jeff Drimmie and Kevin Foisy make-up the Ontario Legends team of officials. "We've had a great turn out for all of our events so far and have another date at Grand Bend just after Labour Day Weekend, so we'll just regroup and head on to the next show."

 

McFadden says that one of the most exciting parts of the Trailers Plus Ontario Legends Series for 2018 is the drivers who'll be running for the rookie of the year award. Whether they've come to the series from other racing divisions or looking at the tour for their first foray into the sport, the fresh faces showing-up for this year's races are providing a very strong accounting of themselves.

 

Names like Luke Atkins, Thomas Dunn, Adam D'Agostino, Hayden Brown, Shane Pollock and Tiffany Vanderbelt have turned-in some solid performances against some very tough competition. The entire Ontario Legends Series family is pleased to welcome the newcomers to the group and assist in their transition to this exciting brand of racing.

 

"Winning is an important part of what we do, but its just as important to make the new drivers comfortable on the track," McFadden added. "Wherever we race, our teams are ready, willing and able to share their knowledge and experience, while answering any questions to help other teams get the most from their equipment."

 

Trailers Plus Ontario Legends Series notebook: Next on the schedule for the tour will be a Saturday, July 7th visit to Sauble Speedway. All racing roads lead to Central Ontario for the inaugural Canadian Legends Asphalt Nationals – Friday and Saturday, July 13th and 14th – at Kawartha Downs & Speedway and Peterborough Speedway.

Soirée gâchée par la pluie

Soirée gâchée par la pluie
Dommage que dame nature soit venue gâcher cette soirée. Tôt en journée
le promoteur Yan Bussière a pris le pari de faire des courses malgré
l'incertitude.

Déjà lors des qualifications, la piste est superbe offre 3 lignes de courses,
et les luttes sont aux rendez-vous. En Modifiés, la première qualification
annonce de belles choses, Pat Demers se défend de belle manière face à
la menace de Mario Clair, ce dernier passera premier en fin de course.
Toujours en Modifiés, Mathieu Desjardins remporte sa course devant de
sérieux prétendants tels que Michael Parent vainqueur la semaine dernière
et STEVE Bernard a tout essayé mais doit se contenter de la troisième
place. Lors de la dernière course qualificative, le vétéran Claude Brouillard
annonce ses couleurs, il fait une excellente course et passe Gougeon dans
le dernier tour après une bataille épique.

Sabrina Blanchet a tout tentée mais doit concéder la victoire à Manuel
Messier dans la qualification STR.

Qualifications Sportsman, Kaven Poliquin, remporte sa qualification, ce
dernier connaît une belle saison, il sera suivi d'Yves Léveillée et Éric
Lefebvre. Autre moment d'émotion, le jeune Gorden Clair sera
accompagné sur la première ligne de son grand-papa René, qui
rappelons-le sont âgés d'un vénérable 78 ans. Ils ont coursé côte à côte
en début de course, Gorden a même mené, avant de céder quelques
places, Gorden terminera quatrième et René septième. Michael richard est
spectaculaire et remonte premier, suivi du surprenant Antoine Parent et de
Maxime Blain. Victoire facile de Jony Allaire, suivi de Patrick Picotin et de
Junior Maillot.

24 Lightning Sprint en piste ce soir. Sabrina Blanchet connaît une belle
soirée et s'offre aussi une victoire qualificative en Lightning. Fidèle à son
habitude Eric Sundborg est extrêmement rapide, et spectaculaire, il se
sauve pour la victoire et la troisième manche sera remportée par Jordan
Poirier lui aussi très rapide.

Finale 20 tours STR
Sabrina et Manuel Messier se font une superbe lutte. Et la bagarre est
féroce pour les positions trois et cinq, entre Stephane Messier, Pierre
Hébert et Dénis Forgues. Sabrina est intraitable cette saison, déjà trois
victoires sur le circuit Drummondvillois. Elle sera accompagnée sur le
podium de Manuel Messier et de Steven Noël.

En Slignshot senior, notons une autre victoire émotive de Karel Letendre
suivi de Christopher Cormier et de Jacob Nault. En junior, c'est toujours
plaisant de voir les yeux emplis de joie de Raphaël Gougeon, qui remporte
un autre victoire de sa jeune carrière, il sera suivi d'un autre futur pilote
prometteur, Elliot Gamache et de Bryan Préville.

Malheureusement on connaît la suite, les finales qui n'ont pu être
présentées seront ajoutées à un programme futur.

Fireworks, Racing Upcoming at Airborne

 

PLATTSBURGH – One of the most popular nights of the season is scheduled this Saturday at Airborne Park Speedway. Dr. Joe Clauss' spectacular fireworks display will be the highlight of the night in addition to the regular racing action presented by Champlain Peterbilt.

​Regular distance events will be run for the Egglefield Ford 358-Modifieds, Poirier's True Value Sportsman Modifieds, Ernie's Discount Tools Super Stocks, Mini-Mods and Strictly Stocks. In addition, the TUSA Mod Lites will be on hand. 

​Admission prices are set at $15 for adults with kids ages 12 and under free of charge. Racing action gets underway at 7 p.m. with grandstands opening at 5 p.m. 

​Last time out, two of Airborne's top competitors collected their second wins of the season.

​Plattsburgh's Nick Heywood drove from position 18 on the starting grid and completed a lap-25 pass to win the Sportsman Modified feature. 

​Jason McClatchie led throughout the first half of the race before Jack Speshock took over control. Speshock ran upon heavy lap traffic in the final laps and tried to work the bottom of the track, but Heywood found a lane around the top and made the pass for the win on the outside.

​Jamy Begor and Speshock completed the podium with McClatchie and Jeremy Roy finishing fourth and fifth, respectively.​

​Chris Raabe took advantage of a quality starting spot in the 358-Modified feature. Raabe rolled from position four and quickly got to the lead. In the back half of the 30-lap feature, Raabe opened up to a full straightaway advantage and cruised to victory.

​Steve Bernier finished second, with George Foley third. Matt Woodruff and Maxime Plante rounded out the top five.

​The 358-Modifieds also had a five lap, five car trophy dash for $500 to win. The top five point men heading into the evening had first crack at the dash. Third place point man, Todd Stone had engine problems in his heat and had to scratch from the dash. 

Travis Bruno was the next man up and he capitalized on his opportunity. Bruno started on point and led all five laps, eventually winning by six car lengths.

Tylor Terry scored a hat trick with his third consecutive win in the Ernie's Discount Tools Super Stock division. Terry was challenged by both Brent Jarvis and Shawn Duquette in a finish that was decided on the final lap.

Jarvis, Duquette, Michael Wright and Josh Terry rounded out the top five.

A first-time winner emerged in the Mini-Mod division, as Cam Gadue collected his first checkered flag. Josh Laporte and Dave Demore completed the podium.

Shawn Walker found victory lane for the fourth time in as many attempts. Lynn Denton and Matt Lapan completed the top three for the Strictly Stock division.

Peterborough Speedway Stars Shine in Cottage Country Dash for Cash Events

Several different touring divisions roll through the pit gates at Canada's Toughest 3rd of a Mile Paved Oval during the course of a regular season, but it's the weekly home track classes that pack the stands with family members, neighbours and friends. Kick-off your Canada Day Weekend Saturday, June 30th as Peterborough Speedway hosts the Cottage Country Dash for Cash events – presented by Lucas Oil Products – for the Battlefield Equipment Rental Bone Stock, Jiffy Lube Mini Stock, Trent Lakes Complete Plumbing Renegade Truck, Super Stock and Late Model teams.

 

"We have Fan Appreciation Nights 3 times a year, but every race program could be considered a driver appreciation," said track owner/promoter J.P. Josiasse. "Everyone who sits in the grandstand has a favourite racer that they cheer for every week. Some of them have a family heritage that has been part of the Peterborough Speedway tradition in one way or another since the track's inception more than half a century ago."

 

While the exact format is still being reviewed by track officials, the Saturday, June 30th Dash for Cash events will feature 10 lap Shootouts – in addition to a complete race program – for each of the 5 regular divisions at the tight, tricky bullring on Mount Pleasant Road west of the Liftlock City. Pit gates will open at 1:30, with spectator admission at 4:00and racing hits the track at 5:00.

 

The season's 2nd Summer Toonie Night – presented by Pepsi – with $2.00 grandstand admission is scheduled for Saturday, July 2nd. On track action will include the Battlefield Equipment Rental Bone Stock, Jiffy Lube Mini Stock. Late Model divisions; with the Outlaw Midgets and a 50 lap main event for the Peterborough Speedway Super Stocks. Check the track web-site for schedule details and start times.

 

"Our car counts have been strong across the board and that has led to some excellent racing in every division," J.P. Josiasse said. "Its still quite early to think about capturing a 2018 track championship, but that won't keep our drivers from looking for every possible advantage they can gain in the title fight."

Toute une fin de semaine attend les amateurs de course automobile le week-end prochain à l'Autodrome Montmagny.

 











VENDREDI 22 JUIN : EXPOSITION Au Bar Le Boomerang à Montmagny

 

Le tout déboute vendredi le 22 juin devant le Bar Le Boomerang, 9 rue St-Jean-Baptiste Est, par une exposition des voitures de courses qui roulent sur l'ovale de Montmagny.  Pour l'occasion une portion de la rue entre les avenues Sainte-Brigitte et de La Cour sera fermée à la circulation entre 14h00 et 17h00 afin de  permettre aux visiteurs de s'approcher des véhicules, de prendre des photos et de discuter avec les pilotes présents.

 

SAMEDI 23 JUIN :   À l'Autodrome Montmagny

C'est le Spécial <Steve Lesage 150> avec les voitures de la Série Sportsman Qc avec plus de 25 voitures en Piste avec les Labbé, Jacques et la recrue Louis-Philippe Lauzier #72 de St-Paĉome, 1er au classement des recrues et 4ième au général. Jonathan Côté de Lévis et Dave Caron de l'Islet seront présents.

Les Bolides des Classes Sport Compact Élite Oricom avec les  Maxime Gagné #17et  Pascal Turgeon #9 de Montmagny, Olivier Labbé-Pelletier #110 de Lévis  et la classe Hobby Frameco avec sa vedette Éric Thibault de Montmagny et Stéphan Hamilton de Lévis seront également au programme.

Ouverture des puits à 16h30, 17h00 pour les gradins. Qualifications à 18h30 et finales à 20h00.

 

DIMANCHE 24 JUIN :   À l'Autodrome Montmagny

 

Deuxième visite des voitures LMS de la Série CSCC sur l'ovale de Montmagny. Le 9 juin dernier,  nous avons assisté à une course très rapide avec des dépassements à  couper le souffle particulièrement entre Donald Theetge et J.F.Déry. Ce dernier voudra certainement prendre sa revanche. L'opposition sera vive et viendra de partout. D'Abord de Theetge, mais aussi  des Dany Trépanie #19 de St-Édouard, premier au classement, des  Bouvrette, Côté, Patrick Cliche #5 de Lévis, Roussin, Latulippe et Cie.

Les camionnettes de la Série Procam Super Truck seront également de la partie ainsi que les voitures de la classe Hobby Frameco..

Ouverture des puits à 14h00 et des gradins à 15h00. Les pratiques débutent à 15h30  avec qualification à 18h30 et finale à 20h30.

 

 

Un week-end à suivre attentivement, d'abord l'exposition au Bar le Boomerang et samedi et dimanche  au complexe de courses multifonctionnel de Montmagny samedi le 9 juin dans le cadre du LKQ

Sortie 378 de l'autoroute 20 et suivre les indications.
