ARCA Racing Announces Next Installment in Return to Racing Schedule

NASCAR OFFICIAL RELEASE JUNE 4, 2020

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – NASCAR today announced the next installment of events in its return to racing, featuring races at Pocono Raceway, Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Kentucky Speedway, Texas Motor Speedway, Kansas Speedway and New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

The announcement included the rescheduling of three ARCA Menards Series events, which will be held in conjunction with NASCAR Cup Series race weekends.

Pocono Raceway, Friday, June 26 (6 p.m. ET on FS1)

Charlotte Motor Speedway, Wednesday, July 15 (4 p.m. on FS1)

Kansas Speedway, Friday, July 24 (10 p.m. on FS1)

The Kansas date is realigned from Chicagoland Speedway, originally scheduled for June 18.

FOX will close out its NASCAR Cup Series season with the NASCAR Cup Series All-Star race at Charlotte Motor Speedway (Wednesday, July 15 at 8:30 p.m. on FS1), while the NASCAR Xfinity Series season on FOX platforms will conclude at Kentucky Speedway (Friday, July 10 at 8 p.m. on FS1).

In turn, NASCAR welcomes back NBC for its sixth consecutive year of coverage when the NASCAR Xfinity Series (Saturday, July 4 at 3 p.m. on NBC) and NASCAR Cup Series (Sunday, July 5 at 4 p.m. on NBC) return to Indianapolis Motor Speedway on the Fourth of July weekend.

NBC will carry coverage of the NASCAR Xfinity Series and NASCAR Cup Series through the balance of the season, including the new and highly-anticipated Playoffs schedule that is currently scheduled to culminate with the crowning of three NASCAR national series champions at Phoenix Raceway in November.

NASCAR's modified event procedures and protocols have been finalized in accordance with public health officials, medical experts and local, state and federal officials. Further national series dates will be announced at a later date.

The NASCAR Cup Series will return to racing at Atlanta Motor Speedway this Sunday, June 7, with a 500-mile event scheduled for 3 p.m., live on FOX, FOX Deportes, PRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.

DIRTcar Weekly Racing Roundup – Week of June 1

CONCORD, NC – June 3, 2020 – A BIG weekend of racing is upon the DIRTcar Racing world this Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Forty-eight DIRTcar Late Models will make the pilgrimage to the hallowed grounds of Eldora Speedway for the inaugural Dirt Late Model Stream Invitational as the headline event of the post-lockdown dirt track racing schedule.

The stars and cars of the Dirt Late Model world will converge on the famed half-mile for two nights of preliminary racing action, featuring a 30-lap, $10,000-to-win Feature on Thursday and Friday before the 67-lap, $50,000-to-win finale on Saturday night.

The #DLMStream will be the kickoff event to Eldora Speedway's 67th consecutive season of racing, thus the race's 67-lap finale Saturday night. Forty-four drivers were part of the original invite list, while four others were added Monday morning after a fan vote that concluded on Sunday night. Tyler & Freddie Carpenter, Tanner English and Rick Eckert were awarded the final four invites.

According to a press release from Eldora Speedway about the status about the 26th Dirt Late Model Dream, originally scheduled for this weekend, the event will be held in 2021.

"In accordance with restrictions with state and federal restrictions on mass gatherings, Eldora officials were forced to reschedule the 26th running of the Dirt Late Model Dream to June 2021 earlier this month. All Eldora-owned and operated parking lots and campgrounds remain closed to the public and the invitational event will be held behind closed doors with all attendees following strict local, state and federal safety measures."

COMP Cams Performer of the Week – Daniel Hill picked up his first of two UMP Modified victories in the Dirt Modified Mega 100 on Thursday night before making it a clean sweep of the weekend two nights later, winning the final leg of the marquee event and bringing his weekend winnings total to a cool $4,000 at Tyler County.

DIRTcar Weekly Racing Roundup – Week of May 25

CONCORD, NC – May 29, 2020 – The weather is warming up, states are beginning to re-open and so are the racetracks. Eight different tracks hosted DIRTcar-sanctioned racing action over Memorial Day weekend and produced 16 different winners. This upcoming weekend, 15 tracks with DIRTcar classes are scheduled to be in operation. Here's a look back on who took the Memorial Day weekend checkers and what's on deck for this Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Memorial Day Weekend Recap

Saturday, May 23
BIG O SPEEDWAY in Ennis, TX, is one of very few dirt tracks in the nation currently operating on a weekly basis. On Saturday night, 10 DIRTcar Late Models took to the quarter-mile oval for a 25-lap Feature that saw Jim Moon, of New Florence, MO, take his second checkered flag of the season at BIG O.

CLARKSVILLE SPEEDWAY is another track currently open for weekly racing with spectators; this past weekend was their fifth Saturday in action since the start of the season in February. Winners listed below.

FAYETTEVILLE MOTOR SPEEDWAY – The newly reconfigured oval in Fayetteville, NC, opened its gates to spectators on Saturday night to witness the action on the new 3/8-mile red clay oval – the first since the downsizing from its previous half-mile distance. Christian Thomas took the UMP Modified checkers for his second DIRTcar victory of the season.

MERRITT SPEEDWAY – The first of two nights of racing action in the Michigan oval's opening weekend saw Chad Finley (Late Model) and Jeff Erickson Jr. (UMP Modified) score wins on Saturday night. Finley collected $2,000 for his big win.

PLYMOUTH SPEEDWAY – Weather forced the postponement of two Feature events on Saturday night at the Indiana oval, but not before Ryan Cripe found Victory Lane in the UMP Modified division.

Thursday, May 28
TYLER COUNTY SPEEDWAY – One of Tyler County Speedway's biggest weekends of the year kicks off this Thursday night as the first of three legs in the Dirt Modified Mega 100. The DIRTcar UMP Modifieds will take to "The Bullring" for a 25-lap, $1,000-to-win show on Thursday night, then head to the sister Ohio Valley Speedway on Friday night before coming back to Tyler County for the finale on Saturday night.

The DIRTcar Late Models will also be on tap for a $5,000-to-win King of the Ring 40 main event. Pit gates open at 4pm, racing starts at 7. NO fan attendance permitted.

OHIO VALLEY SPEEDWAY – After getting rained out last weekend, the 3/8-mile West Virginia oval is keyed up for a big Friday night of action as leg #2 of the Mega 100 weekend for the DIRTcar UMP Modifieds continues for $2,000-to-win over 30 laps. They will be joined by the DIRTcar Late Models, $1,500-to-win.

BIG O SPEEDWAY – Another round of weekly competition is on tap at the Ennis, TX-oval, featuring the DIRTcar Late Models. It's Boy & Girl Scouts Night, so bring your little scouts in uniform and they'll watch for FREE

BROWNSTOWN SPEEDWAY – The Indiana oval opens up the pit gates this weekend for the DIRTcar UMP Modifieds, Sportsmans, Factory Stocks and Sport Compacts. NO spectators permitted; grandstands closed. Facemasks highly recommended. Pit admission $35. Gates open at 2pm, Hot Laps at 6.

CHARLESTON SPEEDWAY – Opening day for the Illinois oval is finally going down with fan attendance at 25 percent of grandstand capacity. DIRTcar classes competing include UMP Modifieds, Pro Modifieds, Stock Cars, Factory Stocks and Sport Compacts. Gates open at 3pm.

DAVENPORT SPEEDWAY – The quarter and half-mile oval combo facility in Iowa welcomes the return of the World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series on both Friday and Saturday evenings. Broadcast coverage provided by DIRTVision presented by Drydene.

NO fan attendance. Grandstands will be closed. Pit gates open at 3pm, Hot Laps begin at 6.

ELKINS RACEWAY – The second consecutive week of spectator-less racing continues at the West Virginia facility with a regular show featuring the DIRTcar UMP Modifieds.

FEDERATED AUTO PARTS RACEWAY AT I-55 – Pevely, MO's famed 1/3-mile, high-banked oval returns to regular weekly racing this weekend with fans in the grandstands. Social distancing rules are in place and facemasks are encouraged.

CTCC CONFIRMS A REVISED 2020 CALENDAR

Shannonville (ON), May 27, 2020 – RACE Events Inc. is pleased to announce a revised 2020 calendar for CTCC presented by Pirelli.

As the Ontario COVID-19 restrictions slowly decrease, motorsports organizations were able to reopen and resume their activities. With only a few months left to the racing season in Canada, this revised calendar has been adjusted to reflect the current situation.

What was a six-event competition has now been cut in half. Three double-headers concentrated in the province of Ontario will define the 2020 championship.

Autoroute 15, à Laval - Début des travaux d'asphaltage des voies de desserte de l'autoroute 15 le 1er juin

LAVAL, QC, le 26 mai 2020 /CNW Telbec/ - Le ministère des Transports informe les usagers de la route de la mise en œuvre, dès le 1^er juin, de travaux d'asphaltage des voies de desserte de l'autoroute 15, entre le boulevard Cartieret l'autoroute 440, à Laval. Réalisés de nuit afin d'en limiter les répercussions sur le réseau routier, ces travaux entraîneront des fermetures complètes des bretelles d'accès et de sortie de l'autoroute 15 ainsi que des voies de desserte. Ils nécessiteront également des fermetures complètes de la voie de desserte de l'autoroute 440 en direction est et partielles sur le réseau municipal.

Ces travaux, qui visent à améliorer le confort de roulement et la sécurité des usagers de la route, s'échelonneront du 1^er juin à la mi-juillet. Lors des fermetures complètes, des chemins de détour balisés seront mis en place sur le réseau.

En cas de conditions météorologiques défavorables ou de contraintes opérationnelles, ces travaux pourraient être reportés ou annulés. Afin de planifier adéquatement vos déplacements, informez-vous sur les entraves en cours et à venir en consultant le Québec 511.

Ces projets sont inscrits dans la liste des investissements routiers 2020-2022 de la région de Laval.

The Super Series Launches Its 2020 Revised Schedule

Shannonville (ON), May 25, 2020 – RACE Events Inc. is pleased to launch the 2020 revised calendar of the Super Series, the regional and most popular motorcycle racing series. Based on its originally planned calendar, the Super Series (formerly known as RACE) will hold three racing events and a test weekend, starting June 5, 2020.

As the Ontario COVID-19 restrictions slowly decrease, motorsports organizations were able to reopen and resume their activities. Since the restrictions currently in place have a direct impact on how a race weekend timetable will be structured, patience and creativity are amongst the many qualities the team will need in order to conquer this challenge. The best strategy at this point will be to plan one event at the time.

Revised Schedule 2020
Friday, June 5 – Test Day
Saturday, June 6 – PreSeason Racing School
Sunday, June 7 – Test Day

Round 1 – July 17-19
Round 2 – August 21-13
Round 3 – September 18-20

With the strong determination of giving a face-lift to the series, Dominique Bondar, General Manager of RACE Events brings to the team a vast knowledge of racing and has assembled a team that will help her achieve her goal. The PreSeason Racing School will also be managed by the team.

Louey Jabouri – Race Director
Taking on the role of Race Director, Louey brings a wealth of racing knowledge to the team with decades of experience in both motorcycle and car racing. As a former competitor in both fields, Louey is a perfect fit to lead the events as he has a deep understanding of the distinctiveness of motorcycle racing.

David Grummett – Technical Director
David possesses all the qualities needed to be part of this team as Technical Director. With over 30 years of experience as a riding instructor and many more as a competitor himself, he has won two Eastern Canada and one National Pro championships in addition to the Yamaha Cup track record at Shannonville. David was part of the series back in 1986 teaching the racing school and will be back at it again this year. Today, his professional life forces him to orbit around the motorcycle sphere and helps reveal his profound passion for that industry.

Jill Grummett – Chief Timing & Scoring
Jill, by accepting to take the role of the Chief Timing & Scoring, closes a long loop in the history of the series. Formerly managing the series herself and taking on almost all the responsibilities that came with the job, Jill comes back with a unique knowledge and tangible and very contagious enthusiasm.

Trevor Lamas – Official
Trevor joins the new team, bringing his years of experience as a series official. Trevor is also a series official with CTCC and has been for the past 8 years. He brings with him knowledge of different racing disciplines like drifting and open wheels.

William Kowalczyk - Official
Pro racer William Kowalczyk comes on board as Technical Scrutineer. New to the role of official, William wanted to help and stay involved. This is a good example of what racers can do to give back to the sport. He is a perfect fit to take on what we hope will become a busy schedule.

Don Empey – Media Director
Continuing as Media Director will be Don Empey who has covered the Super Series since 2004. He has a vast knowledge of the series and with his fantastic personality was able to grow great relationships with the competitors over the years.

Anaïs Grenier-Chayer – Registrar
Anaïs is the first person the competitors will meet as she takes on the duty of registrar. Anaïs brings to the team a youthful exuberance and commitment to streamline the registration process. Much of the process will be modernized to web-based application.

The safety for all our competitors and staff is paramount and all restrictions will dictate our direction moving forward. We hope that competitors have a an enjoyable and satisfying experience after this long waiting period.

Mohawk Int'l Raceway: DIRTcar Track Spotlight

HOGANSBURG, NY – On the land of the Mohawk Nation at Akwesasne sits one of the finest DIRTcar facilities in the Northeast, Mohawk Int'l Raceway. The smooth, wide track with excellent lighting and grandstands provide a premier race experience for both competitors and race fans.

DIRTcar sanctions Hoosier Racing Tire Weekly Championship DIRTcar 358 Modifieds and Sportsman Modifieds at Mohawk which attracts top-flight talent from both New York and Canada. In addition to the track's point fund, each DIRTcar driver will have an opportunity to take home another check at the banquet in November.

Some of the best DIRTcar 358 Modified drivers in the North Country battle it out on this border town track. Last year, Chris Raabe, the 29-year-old driver from Alexandria, ON, won the track championship over star drivers such as second-place points-getter Michael Maresca. Maresca is a threat to win anywhere he races including when he races with the Super DIRTcar Series.

Down the line, DIRTcar 358 Modified Series contender Lance Willix, another second-generation driver Louie Jackson Jr., plus the legendary Watertown, NY native Tim Fuller are all regulars in the Mohawk pits.

Tim Fuller is one of the all-time best around the Frogtown oval. In 2018 Fuller set the single-season win record with 10 trips to Victory Lane. Rain forced the schedule down to only 15 races and Fuller never finished lower than third to secure his second consecutive track championship.

On Monday, July 13 the DIRTcar 358 Modified Series hits the four-tenths of a mile semi-banked high-speed oval for a crucial points-paying tour stop. Last year, Super DIRTcar Series champion Mat Williamson powered his way to the win in the series race, getting the jump on the best North Country drivers in the business.

The 358 Series returns on September, 18 for the final round of action before NAPA Super DIRT Week kicks off at Utica-Rome Speedway. The points gathered at Mohawk are vital for going into the Super DIRT Week stretch of four races in five days in October.

Not to be outdone, the DIRTcar Sportsman Modified drivers at Mohawk put on a phenomenal show every Friday night. NAPA Super DIRT Week Chevy Performance 75 winner in 2018 Shane Pecore won the track championship last year ahead of rivals Thomas Cook, Zach Arquett, Brianna Ladouceur, and Ben Wheeler.

On September 19, the DIRTcar Sportsman North Region and Pro Stock Series makes a stop making for an action-packed fall weekend to bring down the curtain on the 2020 season.

The North Region for the DIRTCar Sportsman Series also will have a special Thursday event on June 25. It'll be tough rowing for Series regulars against the best of Mohawk's Hoosier Racing Tire Weekly Championship roster.

Mohawk Int'l was born in 1987 as Frogtown International Speedway as a vision from Dennis White to build a race track on his hometown reservation.

The speedway is right on the border of the US and Canada on New York State's northern border. Cornwall, Ontario is direct across from the St. Lawrence River. Cornwall Motor Speedway races DIRTcar 358 Modifieds and Sportsman every Sunday.
