HUNTERSVILLE, North Carolina (Oct. 18, 2022) – There are many reasons why Kyle Busch is looking forward to getting "back" to Homestead-Miami Speedway for Sunday's 400-miler.

 

Busch, driver of the No. 18 SKITTLES Lime is Back Toyota Camry TRD for Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR), returns to South Florida filled with great memories at the 1.5-mile oval, where he has a pair of very special race wins that earned him the title of NASCAR Cup Series Champion in both 2015 and 2019.

 

Not only has Busch enjoyed plenty of success of intermediate tracks, in general, he's been in the thick of several Cup Series championship battles at Homestead. He was one of the final four playoff drivers each of the last five seasons the championship race was held at Homestead until it was moved to Phoenix Raceway in 2020. Busch brought home the aforementioned titles in 2015 and 2019 at Homestead, and was the runner-up in 2017. His worst finish in his five-year Championship 4 run at Homestead was sixth place in the 2016 race.

 

With two wins and four top-five finishes at Homestead over the past seven seasons, Busch has become a strong contender at the variable-banked oval. But the SKITTLES Lime is Back driver hasn't always been so strong on his visits to Homestead. His first seven starts there netted just one top-10 finish and only one other top-20. But starting with a fourth-place run there in 2012, Busch has reeled off five top-five finishes and nine top-10s in his last 10 starts at Homestead, topped of course by his impressive championship-clinching runs in 2015 and 2019, forever to be fond memories for the Las Vegas native.

 

With Skittles back on board Busch's No. 18 Toyota Camry TRD this weekend, the brand will use the opportunity to highlight the return of its Lime flavor due to fan demand after an eight-year hiatus. Race fans can grab packs of Skittles featuring the reinstated Lime flavor at retailers across the country, and enjoy them while following this weekend's racing action in South Florida.

 

As Busch heads to Homestead for Sunday's 400-mile event, the SKITTLES Lime is Back driver may not have that familiar championship-race pressure to deal with, but he's most certainly aiming to bring home his third Cup Series win at a place that has provided so many great memories over the years.

Safe to say returning to Homestead brings back great memories for you?

 

"For sure. Obviously, any time you go back to a place where we got to celebrate not one, but two championships, those are great memories I will have, and my family will have, forever. It's also just a fun place to race. I don't think there's any driver who doesn't get excited to race there, you just have some many options on where to run. We've been very good there the last 10 races or so and hoping we can get our SKITTLES Lime is Back Camry TRD back to victory lane there. Would be special to get one more win with JGR and with Mars before we close the season out together."

 

From your experience, how has Homestead changed over the last several years?

 

"The track seems to have aged a little more in recent years, for sure. Definitely a lot of grip for the first few laps, and then it really tapers off, and then everybody is running up next to the fence. I think that's what we saw in years past. As it got darker in the November races, the track seemed to widen out. It's just during the day, when it's hot out and it's slick out, that the best you can do is run right next to the wall, so expecting some of that this weekend with it being a little bit earlier in the fall. It's definitely still a racey joint, but track temperatures are very conducive to that. It was definitely different racing there the last couple of years and not having it be for a championship, but it's always going to be a place where it would be nice to get our SKITTTLES Lime is Back Toyota Camry TRD to victory lane."

 

Has Homestead always been a fun track for you?

 

"Homestead is a fun racetrack, for sure. I didn't run well there early in my career, but we were able to really step up our performance and we had some big wins there to show for it. It's really challenging because of the way the race changes from the beginning to the end, and the way things change from the beginning to the end of your runs. You run the bottom, then you go to the top. You're always moving around. You're always thinking."

International Drivers to Compete in eNASCAR International Series’ Five-Race Schedule

Virtual Daytona race to be livestreamed at ADAC SimRacing Expo in Nuremberg, Germany

 

Daytona Beach, FL (October 11, 2022) - The eNASCAR International iRacing Series returns with a five-race schedule, including a virtual race livestreamed at the ADAC SimRacing Expo in Nuremberg, Germany on December 6. D-BOX Technologies and Digital Motorsports continue as series partners with drivers across the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series, NASCAR Mexico Series, NASCAR Pinty's Series and NASCAR Driver for Diversity Driver Development program all scheduled to compete.

 

After a spring season that saw NASCAR Euro Series driver Alon Day atop the point standings, the DBOX eNASCAR International iRacing Series presented by Digital Motorsports will feature several new tracks in a five-race stand to close out the 2022 season. Drivers will visit virtual tracks in the United States, Canada and Belgium, beginning at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Tuesday, November 15. Competition will take place through iRacing.com, the official simulation partner of NASCAR, which provides one of the top online racing simulation portals and features officially-sanctioned, laser-scanned replicas of race tracks around the world.

 

"We continue to grow our international presence through racing series around the globe," said Chad Seigler, Vice President of International Business Development and Partnerships. "With the support of DBOX and Digital Motorsports, we're able to extend our reach with the eNASCAR International iRacing Series, providing up-and-coming talent with the opportunity to further hone their skills and make a name for themselves as they rise through racing's ranks."

 

For the first time, the DBOX eNASCAR International iRacing Series presented by Digital Motorsports will livestream a virtual race in-person at the ADAC SimRacing Expo in Germany. The Daytona International Speedway race will close out the expo on Sunday, December 4 at 9 a.m. ET with registrants able to watch live at the event.

 

The field will once again have a mix of drivers from the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series, NASCAR Mexico Series, NASCAR Pinty's Series, and select drivers from NASCAR's 2022 Drive for Diversity class.

 

"Competing in the eNASCAR International iRacing Series is good experience to practice driving these tracks that were unfamiliar to me prior to the series," said Treyten Lapcevich, NASCAR Pinty's Series driver. "Circuit Zolder is one in particular that I likely would have never tried had it not been for the series. I do believe it's helped me progress in real life as well. As someone with minimal road racing experience, the level of competition in the series has forced me to continue practicing road courses and improving in the sim, and those improvements translate to real life racing." 

 

Events will be livestreamed on eNASCAR.com/live and on the EuroNASCAR YouTube Channel at 6 p.m. EST for a worldwide audience with the event at Daytona International Superspeedway featured at 9 a.m. ET. 29th Lucas Oil Autumn Colours Classic Opens With a Night of Qualifying

In late season, marquee racing events half the battle is getting into the show. With prestige and bragging rights on the line, Peterborough Speedway kicked-off the 29th edition of the Lucas Oil Autumn Colours Classic – Friday, October 7th – with a night of preliminary events to help teams qualify for starting spots in the weekend's main events. 

 

The night's first order of business was a pair of Trailers Plus Canadian Legend Car Series qualifiers, with Kenny McNicol Jr. and Jordan Latimer taking the wins. Tom Walters scored a pair of OSCAAR Hot Rod heat wins, with the others going to A.J. Emms, Paul Senior, Tyler Hawn and Steve Book. Chandler Bos, Josh Bullen, Dave Watchorn and Tom Eckenswiller picked-up the Jiffy Lube Mini Stock preliminary checkered flags. 

 

Lane Zardo and Todd Davenport shared the opening rounds of KOD Disposal Super Stock qualifying, with Phil Givens, David Rockwood and Spencer Riddell each taking a Battlefield Equipment Rental Bone Stock heat. Caleb Drimmie was the Canadian Legend Car non-winner's special event victor, with Dustyn Mombourquette taking the APC Auto Parts Young Guns Mini Stock feature, while Cayden Lapcevich captured the Super Stock win for racers 24 or younger. 

 

Action continues Saturday, October 8th with second round qualifying for the Mini Stock, Super Stock and Bone Stock teams. OSCAAR Modifieds will run their first heats of the weekend, with Late Model time trials for the annual Electric City 167. Outlaw Midgets, Junior Late Models and Pro Sprints will run their heats and features. Grandstands open at 2:00, with the first green flag at 3:30. 

 

First time 2022 visitors are reminded that Peterborough Speedway insurance regulations require a completed Speed Waiver for anyone entering the pit area. Fans are reminded that with the exception of the 4th turn grandstands, there is no smoking permitted in the spectator areas. Any form of cannabis use is prohibited on speedway property.

Taking the Next Step to Cracking the Autumn Colours Classic Field

There was a chill in the air and plenty of hot action on the track at Canada's Toughest 3rd Mile Oval as the 29th edition of the Lucas Oil Autumn Colours Classic entered its 2nd day at Peterborough Speedway. 

 

Dave Bradley and Jessica James each scored a pair of Outlaw Midget heat races to get the ball rolling, with Will Quarrie, Lucas Finnegan, Jakeb Spencer-Walt and Wyatt Sprung taking the Kingsway Auto Centre Junior Late Model qualifying rounds. Rick Spencer-Walt and Paul Boundy shared the Super Stock heat wins, with AJ Emms, Chris Milwain, Jason Keen and Andy Kamrath taking OSCAAR Modified checkered flags. Kyle Neumeister, Josh Bullen, Johnny Paradzinski and Nolan Gould split the 2nd rounds of Mini Stock qualifying, with Steve Finnegan, David Rookwood and Calvin Reesor taking the same honours in Bone Stock action. 

 

With the No. 6x of Will Quarrie and Jakeb Spencer-Walt in the No. 31 on the front row, the Kingsway Auto Centre Junior Late Model squad came to the line 15 starters strong for their first Autumn Colours Classic feature tilt. Quarrie took the lead early but surrendered the top spot to Spencer-Walt with only a trio of laps complete. With battles being waged all around the track, the lead duo was slicing through the backmarkers at a torrid pace. With only a couple of caution flags to slow the pace, the 15-lap race distance rolled by in the blink of an eye. Even though they swapped the lead back and forth several times over the late stages, Quarrie took the win over Spencer-Walt, with Keegan Moat, Wyatt Sprung and Lucas Finnegan rounding-out the top 5. 

 

The Trailers Plus Canadian Legend Car Series hit the track for the first of their 2 weekend feature events. Josh Inglis and Cole McFadden brought the 19 car starting pack to the green flag. McFadden took control of the 30 lapper like he'd been shot from a cannon. The Woodville, Ontario native – who destroyed a brand new car in pre-season testing – held off challenges from Jordan Latimer, Dawson Drimmie and Adam Cuthbertson – to name a few – in claiming the win. Cuthbertson finished in the runner-up spot, with Hudson Nagy, Latimer and Drimmie completing the fast 5 at the checkered flag.  

 

Starting deep in the field, Jessica James came into the final Outlaw Midget Series event of the year with a 90-point cushion on her nearest championship rival. Rob McCall and Rob Harrison brought the starting field of close to 15 cars to the green flag. With a plan in mind, the driver of the No. 2 machine wasted little time in charging to the front of the field and was running 2nd with only 4 laps complete. She grabbed the lead following a lap 6 restart wasn't challenged the rest of the way. Her latest main event win also served to clinch the tour title for the popular runner. Mike Bradley, Russ Couture, Dave Bradley and Harrison completed the top 5. 

 

Bullring bullet points: Adrian Kemps (No. 31K) swept a pair of Ontario Pro Sprint 25-lap feature events…Kris Khan (No. 48) and Ryan Babin (No. 29x) won the last chance Bone Stock and Mini Stock 'B' main events…JR Fitzpatrick set fast time with a lap of 13.652 for the Late Model Electric City 167. 

 

This year's edition of the Super Bowl of Stock Car racing concludes Sunday, October 9th with a day of feature race action, starting with a 50 lapper for the OSCAAR Modifieds. Grandstands open at 11:30, with the first green flag at 12:30. The provincial motorsports spot will be on Canada's Toughest 3rd Mile Oval, as Peterborough Speedway hosts the 29th edition of the Lucas Oil Autumn Colours Classic. It'll be a busy weekend for Cousineau Racing, with the team scheduled to bring 4 cars to the track. 

 

Based in Colborne, Ontario, Bobby Cousineau scored his first career Late Model win Saturday, August 6th. That trip to the winner's circle helped pave the way to a 3rd place finish in the overall point standings for the driver of the No. 42 Mustang. This year, he'll also play the all-important role of car owner to his sons Chase, Carson and Cole who finished 6th, 7th and 8th respectively in the Junior Late Model field. The popular division will be making its debut at this year's edition of Autumn Colours. 

 

"Some people might think that bringing 4 cars to the track is a lot, but it is actually 1 less than most nights during the regular season," Bobby Cousineau explained. "My father will be leaving the No. 24 car at home and giving me a hand with keeping boys focused and ready to roll. This weekend can be really busy and I'm sure they'll be excited." 

 

On the subject of excitement, Cousineau says he's looking forward to his next start in the big race. This will be the 3rd kick at the can in the big race. His best finish came in 2021 when he started 12th and finished 9th. While much of his motorsports experience has come in the demolition derby ranks, Bobby Cousineau has enjoyed the switch to stock cars and believes the team is better prepared for an Autumn Colours run this year than in the past. 

 

"In 2021, much of my focus was on the Super Stock while Dad ran the Late Model," Cousineau said. "Autumn Colours was one of just a few starts in the car for me. This year has been different with running every week. 167 laps is quite different from what we do on a regular Saturday night, but we'll do our best to be in the running with the checkered flag waves." 

 

The No. 42 Mustang carries sponsorship from the family business Cozy Home Heating and Air Conditioning, TDR Racing, DiBello Towing and Clarke's Parts & Equipment Sales. Electric City 167 Highlights the 2022 Lucas Oil Autumn Colours Classic

On a typical Saturday night during the regular season, Peterborough Speedway's Late Model teams have been familiar with running a 25 or 30-lap feature as their headline event. With the 29th edition of the Lucas Oil Autumn Colours Classic coming up fast, the combined Late Model/Pro Late Model Electric City 167 will once again be the weekend's highlight 'A' main. 

 

"This will be the 4th edition of Autumn Colours where we've put the 2 Late Model designations together for a spotlight 167-lap feature tilt," said track owner and promoter J.P. Josiasse. "There has been a strong level of parity in the finishing order of these events. While Brandon Watson, JR Fitzpatrick and Ryan Kimball claimed the wins in 2018, 2019 and 2021, the Limited Late Model teams have also logged some impressive performances." 

 

Josiasse says that home track regulars might have a slight advantage in the Electric City 167, those teams who are unfamiliar with the layout of the venue known as Canada's Toughest 3rd Mile Oval will get plenty of time to land on the perfect race day set-up. Late Model runners will participate in the practice sessions Friday, October 7th and Saturday, October 8th with their main event scheduled for a mid-afternoon green flag during the Sunday, October 9th finale. 

 

The 'Electric City 167' brand is created by combining a pair of historic events. In May of 1884, Peterborough was the first municipality in the country to use electric streetlights. It was also one of the first cities in Canada to begin generating clean hydro-electrical power, which attracted General Electric and Quaker Oats to town to take advantage of this economical energy source. The 167 lap designation is a throwback to 1967, the year Peterborough Speedway was built. 

 

During the 29th running of the Super Bowl of Stock Car Racing, pit gates will open each morning at 10:00, with rotating practice sessions Friday, October 7th beginning at 1:00 and racing at 6:00. Fans can purchase daily or weekend passes online at www.eventsprout.com/events/peterborough-speedway-2000-ltd. Tickets are also available as a cash only transaction from the walk-up ticket booth on raceday. For pit area access, anyone visiting the track for the first time in 2022 will need to complete the online waiver.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (26 septembre 2022) – Marc-Antoine Camirand a conclu une saison de rêve dans la série NASCAR Pinty's en remportant son premier championnat NASCAR. Il a terminé l'année avec trois victoires, neuf top 5 et 11 top 10 en 13 courses (dont sept podiums.)

 

La saison de Camirand a été si dominante qu'il a effectivement remporté le titre à l'avant-dernière course,  au Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (CTMP), qu'il a quitté avec une avance de 33 points sur Kevin Lacroix. L'avance finale de 27 points de Camirand est la plus importante marge depuis 2016, lorsque Cayden Lapcevich avait battu Andrew Ranger par 54 points. 

 

Le vétéran pilote a démontré sa vitesse en piste dès l'ouverture de la saison à Sunset Speedway où il a mené 203 des 252 tours avant qu'un contact avec Raphaël Lessard ne le relègue à une quatrième place en fin de course. Des problèmes de pneus ont gâché sa journée lors de la première course au CTMP, mais il a su reprendre son rythme en gagnant à Eastbound Speedway, la quatrième course de la saison. Cette victoire a permis à Camirand de prendre la tête des points pour la première fois.

 

Après une lutte acharnée avec Kevin Lacroix et D.J. Kennington, Camirand a pris la tête des points pour de bon après Ohsweken. Marc-Antoine a su rehausser son niveau en fin de saison, partant en première ligne quatre fois de suite, remportant deux fois de suite la pole "E3 Spark Plug Pole Award", et terminant quatrième ou mieux dans quatre des cinq dernières courses. 

 

L'ancien spécialiste du circuit routier a fait ses débuts en série NASCAR Pinty's Series en 2013 et a réalisé sa première saison complète en 2015. Avant la saison 2022, il avait remporté deux victoires - Saint-Eustache en 2018 et CTMP en 2021. 

 

Camirand, de Saint-Léonard d'Aston, au Québec, et Andrew Ranger se sont joint à l'équipe Paillé Course//Racing crée pendant la saison morte. Les voitures de Camirand ont été construites dans son propre atelier, Camirand Performance, avec son chef d'équipe Robin McCluskey. Les deux hommes avaient déjà travaillé ensemble de façon intermittente pendant trois saisons, McCluskey ayant conduit Camirand et son équipe à sa première pole (GP3R - 10 août 2014) et à son premier podium (3e - CTMP - 31 août 2014).

 

Âgé de 43 ans, Camirand a commencé à piloter des karts à l'âge de 12 ans. Il a remporté le titre canadien de Formule 1600 en 1997 et a terminé deuxième de la série américaine F2000 en 1999. Il a également participé aux courses d'endurance IMSA, au championnat canadien de voitures de tourisme et couru sur la glace à un haut niveau.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Sept 26, 2022) — Marc-Antoine Camirand capped off a dream NASCAR Pinty's Series season with his first NASCAR championship. He finished the year with three wins, nine top fives and 11 top 10s in 13 races, including seven podium celebrations.

 

Camirand's season was so dominant, he effectively wrapped up the title following the penultimate race at CTMP which he left with a 33-point advantage over Kevin Lacroix. Camirand's final lead of 27 points is the largest margin since 2016 when Cayden Lapcevich beat Andrew Ranger by 54 points. 

 

Camirand showed speed from the season opener at Sunset Speedway where he led 203 of 252 laps before contact with Raphael Lessard delegated him to a fourth-place finish in NASCAR Overtime. Tire issues derailed his day at the first CTMP race, but Camirand was able to get back on track winning at Eastbound Speedway, the fourth race of the season. The win gave Camirand the points lead for the first time. 

 

Following a back-and-forth battle with Lacroix and D.J. Kennington, Camirand took the points lead for good after Ohsweken. He turned up his performance late in the season, starting on the front-row four races straight, won two consecutive E3 Spark Plug Pole Awards, and finished fourth or better in four of the final five races. 

 

The former open-wheel star made his Pinty's Series debut in 2013 and completed his first full-time season in 2015. Prior to this season, he had two wins – St. Eustache in 2018 and CTMP in 2021. 

 

Camirand, from Saint-Leonard d'Aston, Quebec, and Andrew Ranger joined the newly formed Paillé Racing Team in the off-season. Camirand's cars were built in his own shop, Camirand Performance, with crew chief Robin McCluskey. The two had previously worked together on and off for three seasons with McCluskey leading Camirand to his first pole position (GP3R – Aug. 10, 2014) and first podium finish (3rd – CTMP – Aug. 31, 2014).

 

The 43-year-old Camirand began racing karts at the age of 12. He won the Canadian Formula 1600 title in 1997 and finished second in the US F2000 series in 1999. He has also competed in IMSA, the Canadian Touring Car Championship and was a top ice racing driver.

Bailey Jacobs Adds the 2022 Peterborough Super Stock Title to His Career Stats

A single championship winning season at the weekly racing level is an impressive accomplishment but marking the achievement twice is the defining moment of a racer's career. 

 

Warsaw, Ontario's Bailey Jacobs scored his initial KOD Disposal Super Stock title in 2018 at Peterborough Speedway. Saturday, September 3rd the 25-year-old second-generation runner used a 4th place finish in the night's 20-lap feature event to clinch the 2nd crown of his stock car racing career. The former go-karter says there is no mistaking the effort and dedication his team puts into getting the car ready for every event on the schedule. 

 

"From the beginning of my career, I've been very fortunate to have so many people believe in me and support what we do," Bailey Jacobs said. "My family, fans and the many friends I've met over the years make it all worthwhile. Being able to mark a qualifying or feature race win with so many positive backers is great. I'm thrilled to have everyone celebrate another track championship with me." 

 

Competing in his first full season since earning the 2018 title, the driver says he's thankful to have his father Jeff Jacobs, Tyler and Luke Handley and his fiancé Naomi Wakeford help out behind the scenes and at the track and for the sponsorship he's received from long-time backers including Kawartha Heavy Equipment Repair, Dart Heating & Air Conditioning, T.G. Quirk Towing, Chemong Home Solutions, NAPA Lakefield, Freeflo Physiotherapy, Sign Works Canada and Clarke Motorsports Communications. The team also welcomed Beachwood Resort to the program midway through the 2022 season. 

 

Even though the team has yet to announce its 2023 racing plans, Bailey Jacobs and the Jacobs Motorsports team has confirmed the machine that led the driver to a pair of track championships is on the market as a race ready transaction.

Five Professional-Level Athletes to Join Program Created to Recruit,

Train and Place Candidates with Teams Across the Industry

 

Concord, N.C. (September 15, 2022) — NASCAR and Rev Racing announced today the next generation of pit crew members who will begin training as participants in the 2022-23 NASCAR Drive for Diversity Pit Crew Development Program class. Since the program's inception in 2009, Rev Racing has continued to recruit top-tier college and professional-level athletes, training them to become the next best over-the-wall crew members in NASCAR.

 

"We are excited to welcome some of the most competitive athletes and engineers in the nation to our pit crew development pipeline," said Jusan Hamilton, NASCAR Managing Director, Competition Operations. "Our commitment to the evolution of this pit crew development program continues to allow us to recruit, train and place candidates at the highest levels in NASCAR."

 

The pit crew program is part of the overall NASCAR Drive for Diversity Program, which also nurtures aspiring drivers. All programs are geared toward providing opportunities for women and people of color in the pursuit of NASCAR careers. The program currently boasts a total of 60 crew members who perform weekly duties in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and NASCAR Xfinity Series, as well as 21 full-time graduates in the NASCAR Cup Series.

 

"We look forward to welcoming this year's class to NASCAR's most comprehensive pit crew training and development program," Rev Racing CEO Max Siegel said. "We couldn't be prouder of the journey both our pit crew development program and graduates have taken from its inception."

 

This year, five former college athletes were selected to participate and train in the 2022-2023 program. Rev Racing and the NASCAR Drive for Diversity Pit Crew Development Program seek athletes from all sports. The program recruitment effort and training are led by Coach Phil Horton, Director of Athletic Performance for Rev Racing. The selection process is based on recommendations from coaches and athletic directors.

 

"With the expansion of our recruiting efforts across the country, the talent level continues to rise," Horton said. "Our program continues to evolve and create more opportunities for advancement at a higher level."

 

This year, Rev Racing will introduce several new techniques and support tools to its repertoire. These additions include a mental skills integral coaching program led by Shelley Russi, a former D1 NCAA referee and Founder of Third Side Coaching & ref-oloy.com; and Don Vaden, a former NBA Vice President and NBA Finals referee, who currently serves as an NBA Team Consultant and NASCAR spotter.

 

The Russi-Vaden team teaches sports performance, mental preparation, coping and reflection skills, and provides integrative life management empowerment for current NASCAR Drive for Diversity Pit Crew members throughout the season.

 

These new integrations are set to support the continued success of its program members and graduates. The program boasts some of the greatest athletes currently participating in the top level of NASCAR. Some of those athletes include Brandon Banks, former UNC – Charlotte and Washington Commanders football standout who is the jackman for the driver of the No. 4 Stewart Haas Racing Ford, Kevin Harvick. This has also been a banner year for program alumni Jeremy Kimbrough and Jerrick Newsome, both crewmembers for Trackhouse Racing, as well as Marcus Horton and Jorden Paige of 23XI Racing.
