Theetge Edges Laperle to Take Série ACT Castrol Chaudiere Win

Vallee-Jct., QC – As has happened several times at Autodrome Chaudiere, the Série ACT Castrol Frameco 150 final laps on Saturday, August 6 came down to the rivalry between Boischatel, Quebec’s Donald Theetge and St-Denis, Quebec’s Patrick Laperle. With three restarts in the final four laps, including a green, white, checkered to decide the win, the finish had all the makings of another fireworks filled chapter in the bitter rivalry.

 

Over the first, half of the 150 lap event, it appeared the front of the field was not the place to be. Early leader, Dany Trepanier led all but two of the first 64 laps and held off Laperle, Karl Allard and Theetge for over 20 laps. Then on lap 64, while navigating his way into turn one, contact with a lap car sent him spinning, bringing out the sixth caution and handing the lead to Laperle. Just eight laps later, Laperle and Allard got together battling for the lead, sending Allard spinning and putting both drivers to the rear of the field.

 

This time Theetge was the beneficiary and took over the lead with 72 laps complete. He would lead through lap 123 before an unanticipated lane change by a lapped car caused him to check up to avoid a wreck. This allowed Laperle, who had worked his way through the field back to second, to get under Theetge and take back the lead. It appeared Laperle was going to cruise to the win unchallenged until a caution on lap 146.

 

Laperle and Theetge took the gloves off on the restart with Laperle getting the edge. Another caution setup a green, white, checkered finish. On the first attempt at returning to green, contact between Karl Allard and Daniel Descoste, running third and fourth respectively, sent Allard hard into the front stretch wall, ending both driver’s nights.

 

The second and final attempt again saw Theetge and Laperle swapping paint over the final two laps. Coming out of turn four for the white flag, both drivers were sideways and Theetge just barely led at the line. The final lap saw the same with Theetge taking the win by .013 seconds.

 

Theetge had to be flown into Autodrome Chaudiere just before the heat races rolled onto the track as he was at qualifying for a road course event at Trois-Rivieres, Quebec that will be held on Sunday.

 

The win was Theetge’s second for the season. He was already on the ACT Invitational at New Hampshire Motor Speedway list with Brian Hoar, Nick Sweet, Laperle, Daniel Descoste, Jeff White, John Donahue, Patrick Hamel, Alex Labbe, Kyle Busch and Jeff Taylor.

 

The Série ACT Castrol will continue their 2011 season this Friday, August 12 with qualifying for the ACT All-Star Challenge at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. ACT will have 100 laps of qualifying between three heat races and two last chance races. Forty-four drivers will earn a spot in the starting grid for Saturday, August 13’s two-segment, 80 miles total feature.

Jean-François Dumoulin will start from the top-10

Trois-Rivières, August 6th, 2011 - Louis-Philippe Dumoulin will start fourth on Sunday for the NASCAR

Canadian Tire Series' race at the Trois-Rivières Grand Prix. The two Dumoulin Competition cars qualified in

the top-10 with a 10th fastest lap for Jean-François Dumoulin in the qualifying session held this Saturday.

 

Cette quatrième place est la meilleure performance en qualifications de Louis‐Philippe Dumoulin depuis ses

débuts en série NASCAR Canadian Tire. Septième à l'issue de la séance d'essais libres samedi matin, le cadet

des frères Dumoulin a réalisé un tour rapide de 1:08,750, au volant de sa voiture n°47 Maskimo

Construction, en collaboration avec Somavrac, Bernier‐Crépeau et Cogeco. Fort de cette prestation sur le

circuit qui l'a vu grandir, le Trifluvien espère pouvoir s'offrir un podium devant ses partisans, demain.

«Ça fait du bien! Je suis content de prendre le départ d'une bonne position, je vais être en mesure de

compétitionner avec les meilleurs pilotes de la série dès le départ. Cette fois, je vais pouvoir gérer la course à

partir de l'avant plutôt que me concentrer à gagner des positions», lance Louis‐Philippe Dumoulin.

Huitième lors des pratiques, Jean‐François Dumoulin figurera lui aussi parmi les dix premiers sur la grille, ce

dimanche, après avoir effectué un tour de 1:09,265. Le pilote de la voiture n°04 Bellemare compte bien

montrer ses couleurs parmi les meneurs.

«Cet apres‐midi, nous sommes allés un peu trop loin dans les changements sur la voiture, je n'ai pas pu aller

chercher le meilleur de la voiture dès le début de la séance de qualifications. Nous avons une bonne voiture,

je suis confiant de pouvoir gagner des positions graduellement, tout en étant prudent en début de course

afin de ne pas être impliqué dans un accrochage», soutient Jean‐François Dumoulin.

Près du podium, l'équipe Dumoulin Compétition invite tous ses partenaires, collaborateurs, famille, amis et

fans à se joindre à elle afin d'encourager les frères Dumoulin, ce dimanche, au Grand Prix de Trois‐Rivières.

Les deux pilotes et instructeurs professionnels à l'international comptent, pour leur retour à la maison, sur

le soutien de tous ceux qui croient l'atteinte du podium possible.

This fourth position is the best qualifying result of Louis-Philippe Dumoulin since his debut in the NASCAR

Canadian Tire Series. Seventh after the practice session on Saturday morning, the youngest of the Dumoulin

brothers recorded a fast lap of 1:08.705 behind the wheel of the no. 47 Maskimo Construction car in

collaboration with Somavrac, Bernier-Crepeau and Cogeco. Very satisfied about this strong performance on

the track he grew up with, the Trois-Rivières native is confident to be able to fight for a podium in front of

his fans tomorrow.

«I am happy to start the race from a very good position. I will be able to fight with front runners at the

beginning. This time, I will be able to keep focused to stay up front instead of pushing to be up front », said

Louis-Philippe Dumoulin.

Eighth in practice, Jean-François Dumoulin will also start from the top-10 on Sunday after recording a lap of

1:09.265. The driver of the no. 04 Bellemare car has also high confidence of racing with the leaders on

Sunday.

«This afternoon, we went a little bit too far while changing setup. I couldn't go as far as I could at the

beginning of the session. We have a good car and I am pretty sure I can make it to the front shortly but race

safe to be there at the end », said Jean-François Dumoulin.

Closer than ever from a podium, the Dumoulin Competition Team invites all its partners, collaborators,

family, friends and fans to join it in cheering on the Dumoulin brothers on Sunday, at the Trois-Rivières

Grand Prix. The two drivers and professional race instructors on the international scene will count on the

STEVE POIRIER VOLE LA VEDETTE



Une foule impressionnante est venue acclamer les pilotes de la série ' ESS Spirnt Car '. Le spectacle présenté a été à la hauteur des attentes de tous. La piste était dans un état impécable ce qui a permis des remontées spectaculaires.

Les Sport-Compact: Domination totale pour Bruno Lafontaine.


Vincent Lafontaine (#95) a remporté la séance de qualification tandis que Bruno Lafontaine a mérité la victoire lors de la finale  de 15 tours. 13 voitures étaient en piste, Steve Messier (#71) menait le bal jusqu'a ce qu'un dépassement douteux le propulse vers le mur, sa voiture endommagée n'a pas pu revenir en piste. Bruno Lafontaine a mérité une quatrième victoire devant Marc Dagenais (#24) et Dominic Blais (#45).



 

                                     

 

Les Sportsman: Martin Pelletier choisi le bon moment pour mériter sa deuxième victoire.

21 voitures étaient au rendez-vous hebdomadaire. Steve Bernier (#25) et Keven Beaucage (#45) ont remporté leur qualification respective. Une pige s'est déroulée pendant l'intermission afin de déterminer les positions de départ. C'est Mathieu Boisvert (#73) qui a pigé la première position pour la finale de 50 tours. 5 neutralisations ont été nécessaires avant que l'on puisse connaître le vainqueur. Steve Nadeau (#94) a pris la position de commande au 15e passage, Martin Pelletier ( #92)  a repris la position de commande lors du 36e tour pour filer vers la victoire et mériter des points de championnat. Steve Nadeau et Mathieu Desjardins (#1M) complétaient le podium.



Les Modifié:  Steve Bernard remporte une première victoire en carrière à Granby.



Les qualifications ont été l'affaire de Frédéric Gamache (#74), Yannick Ledoux (#12) et François Bernier (#49). Les pilotes des bolides #74 et #12 ont été moins chanceux lors de la finale de 30 tours. Après s'être touché à l'entré de la courbe #3, Yannick Ledoux s'est retrouvé sur le toit, heureusement pas de blessure mais une voiture très endommagée. En début de course, Jean Boissonneault a réussi à prendre les commandes de l'épreuve. À la mi-course, lors d'une relance Mario Clair (#22) prend la position de tête sur Jean Boissonneault. En fin d'épreuve, le granbyen Steve Bernard (#54)  surprend Mario Clair et s'envole avec une victoire bien méritée. Steve était très heureux de sa première photo avec le drapeau à damier, il avait pris le départ de la 11e position.  Mario Clair  et François Bernier (#49)le suivaient au fil d'arrivée. François Bernier a donné tout un spectacle, en début d'épreuve il s'est accroché avec le bolide #1 de David Hébert, il a donc repris l'épreuve en fin de peloton pour terminer sur la troisième marche du podium.

 



Les ESS Sprint Car: Steve Poirier démontre une fois de plus son immense talent
21 bolides venus des quatre coins du Québec, Ontario et des Etats-Unis se sont donné rendez-vous pour leur deuxième présence sur le circuit de la rue Cowie. Nos pilotes québécois, Steve Poirier (#28FM) et Alain Bergeron (8B) ont été les plus rapides lors des séances de qualification. Kevin Ward Jr (#13) a aussi remporté sa qualification. Le pilote du bolide # 13 a été moins chanceux lors de l'épreuve finale, il roulait en début de peloton quand il a violemment percuté le mur, il a été contraint à l'abandon. François Bernier qui en était seulement à sa 4e course à bord d'un Sprint Car a été très surprenant, il a réussi à maintenir une 4e position pendant plusieurs tours et même lors d'une relance. En fin de course, celui qui pilote habituellement le bolide # 49 Modifié a perdu plusieurs positions. Chuck ' Cobra' Hebing (#45) a dominé tout au long de l'épreuve de 25 tours, il semblait filer vers une victoire facile. Au 24e  passage, Brian Mc Donand ( #151) perd le contrôle de son bolide, on doit relancer l'épreuve. Steve Poirier qui avait pris le départ de la 11e position s'empare du la position de commande dès la relance pour filer vers la victoire. Le pilote du bolide # 28 a connu le succès en catégorie Modifié à Granby (champion 2000 et 2003), il à été très bien acceuilli lors de sa sortie de voiture par des amateurs très enthousiates.

Série Sportsman Québec Lucas Oil - Changements à l'horizon

Série Sportsman Québec présentée par Lucas Oil

 

2011-08-05 – Québec, Québec - Suite à une analyse approfondie de la première moitié de saison de la Série Sportsman Lucas Oil. La direction de la Série a décidé d'apporter quelques correctifs afin de rendre plus efficace le travail de nos officiels et celui de notre directeur de course (Yannick Gagnon).

 

À compter de la course du 6 août à l'autodrome St-Félicien, pour aider le directeur de course, M. André Poulin prendra en charge le déroulement des courses pendant les drapeaux jaunes soit:

 

 -- Avertir les pilotes qui ont perdues des tours autres qu'en situation de course.(Exemple sur

    les jaunes comptés ou besoin  d'assistance en piste ou autres)

-- Repositionnement des voitures dans des délais plus rapides avec une double vérification.

 

-- Aviser les pilotes lorsqu’un jaune se déclare en piste.

 

-- Et la gestion pendant les course du système My Laps avec l'aide de Marie-Claude Tardif  

   comme opératrice.

 

 

De cette façon , notre directeur de course pourra se concentrer à 100% sur le travail des officiels et la gestion de course en piste ce qui rendra le travail plus efficace de tous les officiels et du signaleur.

 

Pour ce qui est de l'inspection technique, effectuée par M. Dany Ouellet, nous continuerons dans la même veine avec des inspections rigoureuses et en faisant respecter notre livre des règlements 2011 à chaque course.

 

Merci de votre compréhension pour les courses passées mais ces changements s'imposaient pour un meilleur spectacle offert aux amateurs  et pour vous  pilotes et équipiers qui travailler si fort pour offrir des résultats juste et équitable en course.

 

Nous apportons ces changements dans le but de continuellement améliorer le déroulement des courses,  d’assurer la compétition la plus juste et équitable avec l’objectif ultime de rehausser le plus possible la qualité de la compétition et du spectacle.

La « Journée Découvertes » du NAPA Pièces d'auto 200 présenté par Dodge : séance d'autographes des coureurs québécois et maintenant trois séries en piste

 

 

Montréal, le 5 août 2011 - Les promoteurs du NAPA Pièces d'auto 200 présenté par Dodge ont annoncé aujourd'hui que le jeudi 18 août prochain sera une fois de plus cette année une « Journée Découvertes » où le public sera admis gratuitement, dès 9 h, au circuit Gilles-Villeneuve. Ce jour-là, les visiteurs pourront s'installer dans la tribune de leur choix pour voir en piste les spectaculaires prototypes Daytona et les voitures GT de la série Rolex Grand-Am, les voitures de tourisme du Canadian Touring Car Championship et pour la première fois en ce premier jour du programme, les voitures de stock-car de la série Canadian Tire de NASCAR. Renouant avec une tradition vieille maintenant de trois ans, les visiteurs pourront aussi sur le coup de 13 h rencontrer une douzaine de pilotes québécois qui seront en piste pendant le week-end.

NAPA Auto Parts 200 Presented by Dodge "Discovery Day" Will Feature an Autograph Session with Quebec Drivers and Three Series On Track

 


Montréal, August 5, 2011 - The promoters of the NAPA Auto Parts 200 presented by Dodge announced today that the general public will be invited again this year to Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in order to attend admission-free "Discovery Day." The free day will take place Thursday August 18 starting at 9:00 a.m.  Fans will be able to select the grandstand seats of their choice and witness on-track action that will feature the exciting Grand-Am Rolex Series Daytona Prototypes and GT class sports cars, the sleek Canadian Touring Car Championship production cars and free of charge on "Discovery Day", the roaring stock-cars of the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series. A fan favourite is also on tap with the return of the ever-popular autograph session that will feature Québec racing stars competing in Montreal. The autograph session is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m.

En après-midi à 13 h, les visiteurs devraient être en mesure de rencontrer au stand d'autographes situé au centre de l'île, les Jacques Villeneuve, Patrick Carpentier, Andrew Ranger, Alexandre Tagliani et Maryeve Dufault qui doivent prendre le départ de l'épreuve de série Nationwide. Devraient se joindre à eux les Donald Theetge, Jean-François et Louis-Philippe Dumoulin, Patrice Brisebois et Isabelle Tremblay de la série NASCAR Canadian Tire et quelques autres représentants québécois du Canadian Touring Car Championship dont les noms seront connus sous peu. Pour la première fois depuis 2009, les spectateurs présents à la « Journée Découvertes » pourront entendre rugir les moteurs de stock-car puisqu'en fin de journée, vers 16 h 40, les quelque 37 coureurs de la série NASCAR Canadian Tire participeront à une séance d'essais libres.


Ainsi en conclusion de cette « Journée Découvertes », on pourra observer exceptionnellement depuis la tribune de son choix, les Dodge numéro 04 de Jean-François Dumoulin, 12 d'Alexandre Tagliani, 27 d'Andrew Ranger, 47 de Louis-Philippe Dumoulin et 71 de Patrice Brisebois, la Chevrolet numéro 80 de Donald Theetge et la Ford numéro 07 d'Isabelle Tremblay. On recommande évidemment au public participant d'utiliser les transports en commun pour se rendre au circuit Gilles-Villeneuve via la station de métro Jean-Drapeau de l'île Sainte-Hélène.

At one p.m., visitors will be able to meet with Nationwide Series drivers Jacques Villeneuve, Patrick Carpentier, Andrew Ranger, Alex Tagliani and Maryeve Dufault in the infield portion of the track. Joining them at the table will be Canadian Tire Series drivers Donald Theetge, Jean-François and Louis-Philippe Dumoulin, Patrice Brisebois and Isabelle Tremblay, as well as several soon-to-be-named Québec drivers competing in the Canadian Touring Car Championship. For the first time since 2009, fans attending "Discovery Day" will be able to hear the roar of the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series engines as 37 drivers take part in a free practice session.


This will be the crowning moment of "Discovery Day" and those in attendance will be able to watch free of charge from the grandstand seats of their choice, the Dodges of Jean-François Dumoulin, who will carry the number 04, the number 12 of Alex Tagliani, the 26 of Andrew Ranger, the 47 of Louis-Philippe Dumoulin and the 71 of Patrice Brisebois. Also on track will be the number 80 Chevrolet of Donald Theetge and the number 07 Ford of Isabelle Tremblay. Organizers urge the public to use the Montréal public transit system to access Circuit Gilles Villeneuve via the metro to Jean-Drapeau station, which is located on Sainte-Hélène Island.

Delaware Speedway PR - ISMA modifieds

World's Most Powerful Short Track Cars at Delaware Speedway this Weekend August 4, 2011 Delaware Speedway PR

 

Delaware Speedway was literally built for Super Modified Racing and each year the ISMA Super Modifieds come home to Delaware Speedway this weekend August 5 & 6.  They bring with them from the United States their special brand of speed, thrills, and skills which only super modified racing can deliver.

 

The Super Modifieds only returned to Delaware Speedway in 2006 after being away for nearly twenty years.  This event will be their sixth return to the track for an event which has now become a two-day racing weekend.

 

Coming into the event, Mike Lichty (#84) of Innerkip is the highest ranked Canadian in points just 22 points behind leader Russ Wood of Pelham, NH.  Lichty suffered mechanical woes at the recent July 30th Hy-Miler 200 at Sandusky Speedway in Ohio, luck he will certainly hope to turn around on home soil.  Mark Sammut (#78) of London currently sits seventh in points.  Another Canadian, Craig Rayvals of Brockville provides more local flavor to this exciting event.

 

What is an ISMA Super Modified?

 

ISMA Super Modifieds are billed as the “World’s Most Powerful Short Track Cars”, with good reason.  The cars are mostly home built by the teams weighing only 1850 pounds and generating an amazing 800 hp.  Super Modifieds require a push start as they do not have a starter and are directly driven.  The cars also feature wings mounted on air shocks which increase down force in the turns and move almost flat to the track on the straights.  The tires are soft slicks, featuring a massive 18” wide right rear tire.

 

NASCAR Whelen Weekly division action is expected to be hot this weekend as well, with each of them taking a turn on the track throughout the weekend:

- The FT Garage Late Models are running twin 30-lap races with a special pricing structure and a $200 bonus for the driver who qualifies best in time trials on Friday.

- Two other weekly divisions of Dynamic Super Stocks and Demar Trucks have slightly bumped prizing for the weekend.  Trucks run on Friday, Super Stocks on Saturday.

- The POWERADE Open-Wheel Modifieds are on track for an excellent invitational event on Saturday in which drivers from across the province are expected to compete.

 

Additional Notes:

- Fans are strongly urged to make use of hearing protection at the ISMA event.  While some adults may choose not to make use of this protection, children at the event should certainly be making use of hearing protection.  Super Modifieds are incredibly powerful.

- Even the most powerful P.A. system in the world would have trouble overcoming the power of a Super Modified.  Bring an FM headset tuned to 89.1 FM to catch the onsite announcers feed and don’t miss a beat.

- Sunday is the designated rain date for the event(s).  Any changes to the program would be announced as necessary.

- Johnny Benson is racing in this weekend’s event.

- Saturday’s event features an autograph session.

- Kids club will be open throughout the weekend before the races behind the broadcast tower.

- Hoppy the clown will also be on site once again this weekend.

- Gates open at 5:00 pm at both events, racing starts at 8:00 pm.

 

Camping is available for $20 for the weekend.  Tickets for the event will be available at the gate and are also available through the track’s website.

Maryeve Dufault; Tony Marks Racing Return To Pocono Raceway

LONG POND, Pennsylvania (August 4, 2011) - - For the first time in her rookie season in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards, Maryeve Dufault will return to a track that she has mounted experience in her No. 12 Mad Croc Energy / Dodge Motorsports Dodge Charger for Tony Marks Racing (TMR).

 

Two months ago, Dufault, the Sorel, Quebec native made her debut at Pocono (Pa.) Raceway where she impressed by qualifying 15th and improving to a solid 12th place lead-lap finish in the Pocono ARCA 200. Saturday, the ARCA Racing Series returns to the track nicknamed the “Tricky Triangle” for the running of the Pennsylvania ARCA 125.

 

Returning to the track nestled along the mountains of Long Pond, Pennsylvania, Dufault and her Ryan Chism led team knows though that a curveball has been thrown at them for the 13th race of the 2011 season.

 

Even though fog shortened her Pocono debut in June by 21 laps, the track time the former NASCAR Canadian Tire Series acquired was priceless. Saturday’s race has a shorter distance of just 50 laps or 125 miles which means Dufault and her TMR gang has to be on their toes and be prepared for the unexpected from the drop of the green flag.

 

“Actually, I’m really excited about returning to Pocono this weekend,” said Dufault who is aiming for her second career top-10 in ARCA competition. “I really adapted well to the track in June and I feel like with that experience, it should help us on Saturday.”

 

She continued, “We’ve had some ups and downs over the last couple of weeks, but this Tony Marks Racing team is incredible. I’ve never met a group of more dedicated guys than mine. I know a good strong on Saturday is just one way of showing them how that hard work is paying off and especially how much they are appreciated.”

 

With just 50 laps to get the job done on Saturday afternoon, Dufault knows that while patience is still important, there will no time to lag as the laps will tick away quickly.

 

“You have to be prepared for anything,” added Dufault, who will make her NASCAR Nationwide Series debut in two weeks at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. “We could find ourselves pitting right where we need to or it could go the other way where we’ll have to pit under green flag conditions. The ARCA competition has been massively tough this year, so we’ll just have to be prepared for any situation that may be thrown at us.”

 

Car owner Tony Marks offered his thoughts on Saturday’s anticipated thriller.

 

“Pocono is such a neat track,” said the Ohio entrepreneur. “Maryeve impressed a lot of people on how quickly she was able to adapt to a track that difficult in such a short amount of time. We’re bringing her a strong No. 12 Mad Croc Energy / Dodge Motorsports Dodge Charger, so we’re looking for another solid finish this weekend.”

 

The Pennsylvania ARCA 125 (50 laps / 125 miles) is the 13th of 19 events on the 2011 ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards schedule. The 53rd ARCA race at Pocono Raceway is a two-day show. Practice begins Friday, August 5 with a one hour and twenty minute practice session planned from 1:40 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Menards Pole by Ansell qualifying is slated to begin later in the day at 5:40 p.m. The field will take the green flag shortly after 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 6. The event will be televised live on SPEED. Live timing and scoring throughout the 1,325th race for the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards since it was formed in 1953 will be available through the ARCA Racing Network (ARN) online at arcaracing.com presented by ARCANation.com.  All times are local.

ACT Test and Tune Session Readies Teams For All Star Event

        Waterbury, VT –The American Canadian Tour (ACT) concluded a very successful test and tune session at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon, NH on Tuesday, August 02, 2011 with forty-five (45) teams in attendance.

 

“I was really proud of the way the first time participants handled the session. We expected the teams who have participated in the previous Invitationals at NHMS to be pretty comfortable, but I am very encouraged with what the first time teams did. It is a lot different going over 160mph down the backstretch at NHMS than what most teams are used to on their short tracks. They did a great job,” said Tom Curley, President of the American Canadian Tour.

 

Veteran teams like former NASCAR North and Busch East racers Brian Hoar, Brad Leighton, and now NASCAR K&N star Eddie MacDonald, were expected to have productive test sessions, but a number of very positive surprises came out of the test and tune effort.

 

ACT Director of Competition, Dean Gallison said, “It was great to see some first timers like Peru, MA racer Pete Yetman have such a good session. Claremont, NH’s Aaron Fellows and ACT 2010 Rookie of the Year, Brad Babb from Windham, ME also had outstanding practice sessions. If the odd and even ‘simulated races’ are any indication of what the racing will be like on Friday, August 12th and Saturday, August 13th, the fans that head to NHMS are going to be in for a whole lot of fun. Actually, Tom (Curley-race director) shortened the second simulated race when teams started to race three wide for a couple laps trying to win the thing!”

 

The ACT Late Model All Star Challenge will take place at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway with short track style heat qualifying races on Friday, August 12, 2011.The grandstand admission will be free to the public.

 

On Saturday, August 13, 2011, the biggest triple header race program of the year will be held featuring a two segment feature format for forty four (44) starters in the ACT All Star Challenge. The first segment, a thirty mile dash, will take place at 10:30am. The lineup will be based on qualifying heats from Friday. The top thirty six (36) teams will be inverted from the first segment for the 50 mile finale—the combined score of the two features will determine the winner in the $120,000 event.

 

INDYCAR qualifying will take place on Saturday afternoon, followed by a 100 mile NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour event.

Soirée Lucas Oil à l'Autodrome St-Eustache

Comme c’est la coutume depuis plusieurs années, ce sera la soirée LUCAS OIL à l’Autodrome St-Eustache alors que monsieur Jacques Sigouin et LUCAS OIL seront des nôtres lors de ce programme de courses dédié à cet important partenaire qui supporte notre division Sport Compactes Lucas Oil, la plus importante de voitures quatre cylindres au Québec.

 

Les pilotes des catégories SPORTSMAN et PROCAM / SUPER-TRUCK seront de cette soirée alors qu’ils participeront une finale de 75 tours chacune.

 

En Sportsman, Maxime Pelletier (66) de Mascouche tentera de maintenir son avance devant ses redoutables adversaires qui le talonnent de près au classement en deuxième et troisième positions, Martin Goulet (84), également de Mascouche, et Jean-François Bouvrette (38) de St-Jérôme.

 

Chez les Procam/Super-Truck, l’excellent Sylvain Lemieux, de Ste-Anne-de-la-Pocatière qui domine le classement avec sa camionnette (97,5) devant Fernand McClean (89) de Bedford et Sylvain Brouillette (3) de St-Agapit, tentera de se maintenir en tête lors de cette course qui sera supportée par Morin Performance.

 

Les pilotes de la populaire division Sport-Compacte Lucas Oil y seront également alors que Steve Ladouceur (31) de Mirabel domine cette division avec une mince avance de six points devant Claude Salois (03) de La Plaine et 10 points devant la troisième position détenue par Marc-Antoine Demers (422) de Le Gardeur.

 

Vive lutte également entre Stéphane Aubin, de Boisbriand et Sylvain Denis, de St-Léonard-de-Portneuf qui dominent le classement de la division Légendes Modifiées qui seront de la partie avec tous les autres réguliers de cette populaire classe de rapides voitures propulsées par des moteurs de motos 600CC.

 

Ce sont finalement les nombreux pilotes de la classe de développement des Challenge 4 dominée par Louis-Alexandre Dupuis qui domine cette division avec cinq victoires en six départs qui complèteront le menu de la soirée.

 

En raison du programme chargé de cet événement, les puits ouvriront un peu plus tôt, soit à 15 h 15, tandis que le signal du premier départ sera donné à 18 h 15. Montréal, le 3 août 2011 - La popularité auprès des coureurs de la manche montréalaise de la série NASCAR Canadian Tire, le NAPA Autopro 100 présenté lors du week-end des 19 et 20 août prochain au circuit Gilles-Villeneuve, atteint cette année des sommets inégalés. Les promoteurs de l'événement où se présenteront aussi en piste les coureurs des séries Nationwide de NASCAR, Rolex Grand-Am et Canadian Touring Car Championship ont en effet reçu cette semaine des dirigeants de la série canadienne de NASCAR une liste où on compte trente-sept coureurs (37) qui devraient être du départ de la course disputée le samedi en matinée sur le tracé montréalais. Il s'agirait d'un record pour ce championnat né en 2007 et inscrit chaque été depuis au programme du NAPA Pièces d'auto 200 présenté par Dodge. Au fil des années, le rendez-vous montréalais a toujours attiré le plus grand nombre d'inscrits en saison, successivement 31, 33 et 34 coureurs ces trois dernières années. Tour à tour, Kerry Micks, Andrew Ranger, JR Fitzpatrick et Ranger de nouveau sont sortis vainqueurs de la très chaudement disputée épreuve montréalaise.

Thirty-seven, a record number of entries for the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series at the next NAPA Auto Parts 200 Presented by Dodge

 


Montréal, August 3, 2011 - The increasing popularity of the Montreal stop on the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series schedule, the NAPA Autopro 100 the weekend of August 19 & 20 at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, has reached unprecedented heights this year. The promoters of the event that also features the NASCAR Nationwide Series, the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series and the Canadian Touring Car Championship, received this week from officials of the Canadian NASCAR Series, an entry list of 37 drivers who should make the grid for Saturday morning's race in Montréal. The record number of entries will produce the series' largest-ever field since its inception in 2007, which incidentally, has always been a part of the NAPA Auto Parts 200 presented by Dodge. Over the years, the Montreal stop has seen its number of entries increase with 31, 33 and 34 drivers registered over the last three years. The Montréal event lists Kerry Micks as the inaugural winner, Andrew Ranger in 2008, JR Fitzpatrick the following season and Ranger as a repeat winner last season.

Depuis 2007 et la création de la série NASCAR Canadian Tire, outre Montréal, seuls Toronto à deux reprises et Edmonton, une fois, ont vu 30 coureurs ou plus en piste. Cette année en juillet à Toronto, il y avait 33 partants. Au circuit Gilles-Villeneuve, dans un peu plus de deux semaines, selon la liste préliminaire d'inscrits, sont attendus un Californien, deux Britano-Colombiens, autant d'Albertains, dix-sept Ontariens et une quinzaine de Québécois.


Après sept des douze épreuves inscrites au calendrier 2011, c'est le vétéran Scott Steckly, champion de la saison 2008, qui dominait le classement devant le champion défendant D.J. Kennington, lequel en seconde place accusait un recul de vingt points sur le meneur. Steckly et Kennington mèneront le contingent ontarien alors qu'Andrew Ranger, Alex Tagliani, le vétéran Donald Theetge affichant les couleurs du NAPA Pièces d'auto 200 présenté par Dodge, Isabelle Tremblay, les frères Louis-Philippe et Jean-François Dumoulin et l'ex-défenseur du Canadien, Patrice Brisebois seront les principales têtes d'affiche du contingent québécois lors de cette excitante course de 100 kilomètres.

It proves once again that drivers from Québec and outside the province want to win fame in front of the Montréal crowd and challenge a legendary track," said François Dumontier, President of Octane Management and delegated promoter of the NAPA Auto Parts 200 presented by Dodge. "We are happy to offer race fans fields of 25 and up to 43 cars in the four series scheduled that weekend. As for the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series, since 2007 it has produced very exciting races, and I have no doubts that it will once again be spectacular."


Since its creation in 2007, the Canadian Tire Series has fielded 30 cars or more only seven times, with four of them in Montréal, two in Toronto and one in Edmonton. Earlier in July, 33 drivers registered for the Toronto Indy race weekend. According to the latest entry list, Circuit Gilles Villeneuve will, in just over two weeks, welcome one California driver, two each from British Columbia and Alberta, 17 from Ontario and 15 from Québec.


Following round seven of the 2011, 12-race schedule in Saskatoon, 2008 series champion Scott Steckly of Milverton ON, was leading the standings ahead of defending series champion D.J. Kennington of St. Thomas, ON sat in second place, twenty points back of the leader. Third place belongs to Don Thompson, Jr. of Hamilton. Steckly, Kennington and Thompson will lead the Ontario contingent. Andrew Ranger, Alex Tagliani, Isabelle Tremblay, Louis-Philippe and Jean-François Dumoulin, veteran driver Donald Theetge, who is sporting the NAPA Auto Parts 200 presented by Dodge logo on the hood of his car, and former Montréal Canadien's defenseman Patrice Brisebois, will headline the Quebec field for this very exciting 100-kilometer race.
