Petronis beats Bushey for first Late Model win

WEST HAVEN, VT – Vince Quenneville, Jr., surprised even himself in winning the 35-lap NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Bond Auto Parts Modified stock car race at Devil’s Bowl Speedway on Friday night. The Brandon, VT driver posted his fifth win of the season on Green Mountain Water Environment Association/Sunoco Race Fuels Night with a back-up engine, trimming his championship points deficit in the process.

After blowing his primary engine last week – a 600-horsepower, 358 cubic-inch “open” motor – Quenneville used a 350-horsepower “crate” engine borrowed from former track champion Kenny Tremont, Jr., to drive his way into the winner’s circle. Quenneville darted past leader Joe Williams at lap 22 on the outside lane, then survived a pair of restarts on lap 32 to claim the win. Williams, of Scotia, NY, was second, and Middlebury’s Hunter Bates was third. Bates just missed a chance at a rare Triple Crown after winning his qualifying heat and the six-car, six-lap Sunoco Race Fuels Dash For Cash.

Championship leader Ron Proctor of Charlton, NY rallied late to finish fourth after narrowly avoiding a chain reaction mix-up that left top runner Jessey Mueller spun out of contention with three laps left. Proctor gained one point on Quenneville in qualifying to make his lead 29 points, but gave up six points in the feature; his lead is now 23 points on Quenneville entering the championship finale next Friday.

Joey Roberts of Georgia, VT finished fifth in the race, followed by Leon Gonyo, Jeff Haskins, Cody Sargen, Andy Smith, and Mueller.

Dan Petronis of Mechanicville, NY became the third-straight first-time winner in the J&S Steel Late Model division, beating Craig Bushey after a wildly entertaining, non-stop duel that included a few bumps. The pair made serious contact with just five laps remaining when Petronis got out of shape exiting the fourth turn, and Bushey’s car climbed the left-rear corner pitching it briefly into the air. Both drivers regrouped and kept racing each other hard for the win.

Petronis came across the finish line a half-car length ahead of Bushey for the win. After congratulating Petronis in victory lane, Fairfax, VT racer Bushey was announced as having unofficially clinched the Late Model championship at Devil’s Bowl Speedway with one week remaining. Bushey’s 60-point margin over Matt White gives him a mathematical lock on the title.

Sixty-seven year-old “Stormin’” Norm Andrews of Northfield, VT finished a season-best third in the race, followed by Kevin Elliott of Rutland, VT and Boomer Morris of Barre, VT.

Richie Turner of Fairfax, VT made his first-ever start at Devil’s Bowl Speedway count in a big way, winning the 15-lap Renegade feature. The former Airborne Speedway champion came from the back for the win. Ryan Keith of Pittsford, VT was the runner-up with Milton, VT’s Robert Gordon third, rookie Stephen Donahue of Graniteville, VT fourth, and East Middlebury, VT’s Kevin Brisson fifth. Unofficially, Gordon holds a 13-point advantage on Keith entering next week’s final championship event.

After separate rollover crashes by Tyson Drown and Harold LaVair in the first two laps, Jake Noble survived the wild 20-lap Bomber feature for his first victory of the year. The Benson, VT racer had been sidelined with a blown engine since July 4 and drove a car borrowed from rookie Mitchell Dundon – who was absent from the race while attending class at the University of Vermont – and held off hard-charging Josh Masterson for the popular victory.

With the runner-up finish, Masterson, of Bristol, VT has an insurmountable 66-point lead and has unofficially clinch the Bomber championship in his rookie season. Another rookie, Gerald LaFlam of Hinesburg, VT, posted his best-ever finish in third place, followed by Mike Whalen, Jr., of Plattsburgh, NY and Dan Collins of Rennselaer, NY. No injuries were reported in either the Drown or LaVair crashes.

Robin Jones won a special Daredevil race for members of the Green Mountain Water Environment Association. Jones defeated Chris Robinson, Greg Haskins, Sr., Dick Brooks, and Paul Russell in the five-lap shootout.

Track promoter Alayne Bruno – in her first-ever start in a stock car – won the eight-lap, ladies-only Powder Puff race. Bruno had a commanding lead when the race was stopped at halfway and the running order was inverted. Undaunted, she quickly drove back into the lead and took the win. Mickele Ferrell of Niskayuna, NY made an exciting pass at the finish line for the runner-up spot, and Heather Ducharme of Castelton, VT was third.

The NASCAR Whelen All-American Series wraps up its championship season at Devil’s Bowl Speedway with Brown’s Quarried Slate/Brown’s Orchard & Farm Stand Championship Night on Friday, September 7. The event includes a 50-lap race for the Modifieds, 40 laps for the Late Models, as well as Renegade and Bomber races. Special general admission is $12 for adults, $10 for seniors (62+), and free for children 12 and under; fans will save $2 on admission by bringing a ticket stub from the Vermont State Fair. Gates open at 5:00pm, racing begins early at 7:00pm.

The 2012 racing season concludes on Saturday, September 15 and Sunday, September 16 with the Vermont 200 weekend. Qualifying for Modifieds, Renegades, and Bombers will be held on Saturday at 1:30pm. Sunday is packed with a 100-lap Modified feature, special events for Renegades and Bombers, and qualifying and the 100-lap finale for the Vermont State Late Model Championship Series.

ACT Announces $300,000 Fall ACTion

Waterbury, VT – American Canadian Tour officials have announced a five-race stretch of events through September and the first week of October boasting over $300,000 in winnings called Fall ACTion. Fall ACTion will be kicked off by the Bond Auto Labor Day Classic at Thunder Road on Sunday, September 2, and closed out by the Fall Foliage 200 at Airborne Speedway on Sunday, October 6.

The 34^th Annual Bond Auto Labor Day Classic marks the second to last championship counting race on the American Canadian Tour, and will also post a $45,000 purse for competitors. Just six days after that, Serie ACT Castrol competitors go head-to-head with US ACT Tour competitors in a team-based Showdown at Chaudiere for a $35,000 purse on Saturday, September 8. Teams will then turn to the $81,000 4^th Annual Bond Auto ACT Invitational on the big stage at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Saturday, September 22.

Competitors then prepare for the biggest event of the fall, Thunder Road’s 50^th Annual People’s United Bank Milk Bowl on the weekend of September 29 and 30, which is offering an unprecedented purse of over $120,000. Finally, the American Canadian Tour will close out championship honors with the $35,000 Fall Foliage 200 at Airborne Speedway on Sunday, October 6.

ACT President Tom Curley is proud to present this caliber of racing in the Northeast. “With the 50^th Milk Bowl and many of our marquee events scheduled for the fall, we really wanted to crank it up this year. This is just an extra incentive for these racers, some of these guys could win some serious money in the next few weeks,” said Curley.

Kawartha's Late Model Drivers Fight for the Right to Hoist the Championship Hardware

Push may very well turn to shove when it comes to determining the 2012 point standing finishing order in Kawartha Speedway’s highly competitive NAPA Auto Parts ACT Late Model division. With just one event remaining on the schedule, drivers throughout the field will be looking to gain any advantage possible in an effort to move up a spot when the final positions are tabulated.

Although winless this year, 4^th place Dwight Brown enjoys a 5 point advantage over opening night winner Dave Morgan. Mike Wallace is 6^th, 41 markers behind Morgan – but only 16 points ahead of Larry Jackson. A late season charge has helped Linc Brown move into 8^th and his total of 506 is just 5 points behind the 2007 track champion. J.P. Josiasse and Jamie Horner are tied for 9^th at 487, with Tim Cole 34 points back at 453.

The top 3 drivers are just 49 points apart, with Bryan Mercer sitting in 3^rd spot and 7 time track champion Dan McHattie at the top of the ladder. In between Mercer and McHattie is Norwood, Ontario’s Ryan Kimball. After his first career main event win, he is just 26 markers out of the lead. It is something that has been in the back of his mind since the checkered flag waved – Friday, August 24^th – but Kimball is thrilled to go into the last night of the season with a chance to have his name engraved on the championship trophy.

“I’m not going to take any chances. The plan is to run the same race I always do and hope for the best,” said the driver of the #16 Trail’s End – Larry Crowe/Crowe Brothers Roofing/Archer Bulk Carriers/Earl Carter Concrete/Mayhew Graphics/Total Sportswear/Norwood Self Storage/Norwood Auto Wreckers/John on the Spot/Heather and Joel Wiebe Photography Chevrolet Impala by McColl Racing Enterprises. “No matter what happens, it’s been a fantastic season. The crew has given me a great car for every race and just being in position to win the title is a major accomplishment. It would be great finish ahead of both Dan and Bryan, but I think it’ll all come down to whoever has the best car.”

Win, lose or draw 2012 will go into the history books as a memorable campaign for the Kimball camp. In his first year wheeling a new chassis, the driver known as “Flyin’ Ryan” finally scored his first Late Model feature event win and was invited to represent Kawartha Speedway – along with his championship rivals Dan McHattie and Bryan Mercer – at the annual running of the American-Canadian Tour Invitational – Saturday, September 22^nd – at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

“I’ve been very lucky to have such a great season and hope I’ll be able to carry this momentum into 2013.”

Kawartha klips: The final regular event of the 2012 season – Friday, September 7^th – will be a full night of action at the Fraserville 3/8^th miler. In addition to the Hasiuk and Container Rental Mini Stocks, Thunder Cars and the NAPA Auto Parts ACT Late Models, the show will also include the annual 75 lap Don Biederman Memorial for the OSCAAR Super Late Models, the first Kawartha appearance by the OSCAAR Modifieds and the 4^th run for the Ontario Legends Series. Gates will open at 3:00, with racing starting at 6:00...The NASCAR Canadian Tire Series will crown this year’s champion at the 250 lap season finale Saturday, September 22^nd. Hoar Closes Point Gap, Heads for Thunder Road

Labor Day Classic Kicks off $300,000 Fall Winnings

Barre, VT – The championship battle for the American Canadian Tour’s biggest stars will be in town for a critical points event this Sunday, September 2 at the 34^th Annual Bond Auto Labor Day Classic at Barre’s Thunder Road. Point leader Wayne Helliwell, Jr. will have to defend his slim 22-point lead from eight-time ACT Champion Brian Hoar, hot off his win at Circuit Riverside Speedway in Ste-Croix, QC last weekend.

With two races remaining for the Championship to be decided, a familiar two-horse battle has re-emerged. Dover, NH’s Helliwell leads Williston, VT’s Hoar by 22 points coming into the Labor Day Classic, a track where Hoar owns 12 victories. The pair has combined for 13 top tens in 16 starts, vaulting them into a championship scrap that is now coming down to the wire.

Helliwell has risen to the top on the wings of three victories and five top fives, but Hoar has battled back in an attempt to defend his title with three victories of his own. Hoar won the Merchants Bank 150 in the Spring at Thunder Road, but not without locking horns with then second-place point man Helliwell, who pulled the packed house to their feet during an all-out war between the two in the closing laps. The battle picks back up this Sunday, September 2 as the Championship hits the homestretch.

Hoar is ready to return to The ‘Road. “We’re going to keep the pressure on them and just keep doing what we can do,” said Hoar in a team press release. “We’re going to race hard for it. Let the best man win, let the best team win. We’re going for it.”

Upon hearing Hoar’s words, Helliwell remained confident. “They have been on top, so we have come to expect that. Hopefully we’ve rattled their cage and are making them try things they wouldn’t normally do. We will continue putting the pressure on and race them as hard as we can as we have all season. Going to be tough and tight all the way to the end,” said Helliwell. “We feel fairly confident coming to Thunder Road. It’s always subject to change, but we were good there last time and I think we’ve found a few things over the season that will make us a tick better this time around. The pressure really isn’t there for us, we’ve never point raced persay. Just try to win every time out, and when we can’t, we do the best we can,” he finished

Groveton, NH’s Randy Potter will look to bounce back at the Labor Day Classic, returning for the first time since a brutal multi-car wreck that left his car strewn across turn one last May. Potter proved his grit last weekend at Circuit Riverside on a sensational drive from 34^th to 5^th in the feature event after the front end of his #02 Chevrolet was destroyed in the first curve of his qualifying heat. Potter, along with teams from both sides of the border, rebuilt the front end of the car just in time for the drop of the green flag.

Potter is wary of his recent luck. “I’m a little apprehensive, to be honest, but we’re pretty relentless. I think last week was hopefully a momentum builder,” said Potter. “Sometimes it takes something like that to realize what you’ve got, and how much people respect you. It really shows what the other teams think of you when they all rally around you like that.”

The American Canadian Tour will be back in town this Sunday, September 2 for the 34^th Annual Bond Auto Labor Day Classic at Barre’s Thunder Road. Post time is 1:00pm.

Christopher PASS Top Gun at Stafford

Stafford Springs CT (8/26) Ted Chrsitopher made a rare Pro All Stars Series appearance Sunday afternoon at Stafford (CT) Motor Speedway and when the checkers waved the man they call TC added yet another entry to a record book he already dominates at the half mile oval. Christopher led almost every lap to capture the first PASS feature at his home track.DJ Shaw came on strong as the laps wound down to finish second and Travis Benjamin pulled himself closer to Cassius Clark in the PASS North point battle with a third place run.

The win was Christopher's second in a PASS super late model, his first coming at Thompson International Speedway in 2004. He's the eighth driver to carry the PASS North super late model checkers in 2012.

Jay Fogleman made the trip North to challenge for the PASS National Championship as Stafford 's race marked the kick off of six late summer and fall races that will decide that title and the PASS South regular led the field to the start with Christopher to his outside. Christopher immediately took control in his Mulkern Racing ride and team mate Lonnie Sommerville was second at lap eight After an early red flag for Dave Macomber's oil down the field ran clean and green until lap 58 when Woody Pitkat spun, and a five minute competition caution was called allowing teams to change left side tires and make chassis changes. As a result of tire wear the teams were experiencing the feature distance was shortened to 110 laps in the interest of safety.

When racing resumed it was still Team Mulkern first and second but Johnny Clark decided it was time to challenge and he took over second from Sommerville on lap 65. Christopher was able to open up a lead on the 54 but Clark mounted a serious challenge on a lap 85 restart, edging in front at the start finish line on lap 86. Christopher was back in control one lap later and Clark's good run was about to end when DJ Shaw tried the bottom on Clark and the pair got together, sending Clark into the turn one wall. The incident knocked the right front corner off of Clark's race car, ending his day and relegating him to a sixteenth place finish.

Christopher maintained control but Travis Benjamin and Shaw had a good scrap going for second. Benjamin got the best of Shaw on the lap 89 restart but Shaw battled back and regained the spot on lap 97. The field ran clean and green to the lap 110 checkers, with Christopher out front by 1.117 seconds.

Dan McKeage was the benefactor of a wild PASS Sportsman finish that saw McKeage and Stafford Limited Sportsman regular Corey Casagrande tangle in a lap 58 skirmish that ended Casagrande's challenge for the win and left Carey Martin with a torn up race car in the third spot. Tom O'Sullivan slipped by Martin during the melee to claim second. Craig Smith and Rudty Poland rounded out the top five.

Mitch Miller ran away and left the PASS Mod field to score a popular first PASS Mod feature win. Dale Shaw gave chase but other than a red flag early on for Sumner Sessions and Scott Alexander's wall pounding wreck the race went green the whole way and there was no catching Miller. Travis Buzzell had another strong run in third, and point leader Andy Shaw came from the back of the seventeen car field to earn fourth.Dana Reed completed the top five.

PASS North has a weekend off before returning to action Labor Day weekend for a 150 lap PASS North / PASS National Championship Super Late Model showdown at White Mountain Motorsports Park in North Woodstock NH. Post time at White Mountain is 6:00 PM.

Petit résumé de ma journée d'hier

Mon père et moi avons travaillé fort dans la matinée et après le dîner pour préparer l'équipement et terminer les derniers préparatifs pour que La Bête puisse prendre la piste lors du programme du 25 août.

2 ans d'efforts, avec l'aide de plusieurs personne telles que Daniel Benjamin, Ian Phaneuf, Johnathan Schwemler, Ian O'Brien, Martin Quesnel, Pierre Laplante, Stan Parker, Mathieu B. Michaud, Maxime Couillard, Fred EG K-twenty Lefebvre, Fred Legault, Benoit Lemieux-Ayotte, Jean-Francois Fredette, Paul Jean, Dominic Meunier, Sebastien Plante, Sébastien Cadieux, Marc Patrick Roy, Marc Desgroseilliers, un ami et mon commanditaire depuis tout le début Adrien C. Larivée et sans oublier mon crew-chief préféré Pierre-Paul Jr. Champagne.

Bien que mon meilleur temps total aura été de 21.3, j'allais simplement faire des tours pour voir si tout était parfait, direction, suspension, moteur, transmission... Pendant la qualification, je n'étais pas en mesure de suivre les 6 autres voitures, le moteur manquait sur le droit. Après 3 tours, je me suis retiré pour ne pas causer d'autres ennuis, expérience et maturité!!! Nous avons essayé une autre batterie qui fonctionnait bien, malheureusement, le moteur n'a jamais redémarré, soirée terminée avant même la finale.

J'aimerais remercier tout mes commanditaires qui sans eux, tout ça n'aurait jamais eu lieu. Merci aux gens qui sont venus prêter main forte, soit pour réparer ou pour la fabrication. Merci à ceux qui m'ont supporté, que ce soit en personne, au téléphone ou virtuellement. Merci à toute ma famille pour qui les sacrifices ont été durs mais devant la beauté qui est maintenant prête à faire feu, merci mon amour Krystelle Boulet!!!

Je suis à trouver des fonds pour faire une ou deux courses de plus cette année. Je sais tout de suite que ce samedi je ne pourrai faire la course, il restera les deux dernières courses de la saison le 16 septembre ( ACT 300, plus de 5000 personnes dans les estrades ) et le

30 septembre lors de la Triple Couronne Sport Compacte ( une course de

75 tours ). Je ne peux rien promettre mais je mets tout mes efforts pour trouver les fonds nécessaires pour être présent à ces deux dates!

Onzième manche de la série ACT-Castrol à l'Autodrome Montmagny

IL N’Y A RIEN DE TERMINÉ ENTRE LAPERLE ET DÉRY

À la veille de la onzième manche de la série ACT-Castrol qui sera présentée à l’Autodrome Montmagny, samedi, on peut avancer que rien n’est terminé dans la lutte que se livrent Patrick Laperle et Jean-François Déry en ce qui concerne le championnat 2012.

Malgré toute une prestation de la part de Déry, le pilote de la Camry/Giguère Portes & Fenêtres, lors de la Can-Am 200 au circuit Ste-Croix/Riverside Speedway, épreuve durant laquelle il a dominé plus de 130 tours, ce dernier n’a pas réussi à réduire l’écart d’une manière substantielle. Il n’a grignoté que sept points à l’avance que possède Laperle qui l’a suivi au fil.

Chose certaine, la pression sera sur Déry qui se devra d’accumuler plus de points que Laperle et ce, d’une manière plus importante que lors de la dernière course. Tout peut encore se produire et personne n’est à l’abri d’un accrochage ou d’un bris mécanique. La patience pour atteindre le drapeau quadrillé dans une position avantageuse sera donc de mise pour ces deux pilotes. Actuellement l’écart des de 32 points (961-929). Cependant, c’est Déry qui compte le plus nombre d’épreuves où il a terminé dans le top 5, soit 8.

Quant à Donald Theetge, il sait depuis quelque temps qu’il ne peut plus aspirer à un troisième titre. Il occupe le troisième rang au classement avec une mince avance de 11 points sur Karl Allard. On se souviendra qu’en mai dernier, le Félicinois avait gagné à Montmagny. Ce fut d’ailleurs son seul gain à date.

Puis pour le cinquième rang, c’est très corsé entre David Michaud et Dany Trépanier et c’est ainsi jusqu’à la onzième position détenue par le vétéran Claude Leclerc qui est très déçu de sa saison jusqu’à maintenant.

C’est donc dire qu’en plus du duel Laperle-Déry, les amateurs devront surveiller les onze premiers au cumulatif, tous des pilotes désireux d’améliorer leur fiche personnelle. C’est très important pour la fin de saison en raison de dollars accordés par le fonds de points.

Au même programme, les classes Sportsman du Québec, Kamikaze et Sport Compact sont inscrites à l’horaire de cette journée à ne pas manquer.

Austin Theriault Named 2012 'Maine Young Gun'

BKR development driver's summer run earns K&N Pro Series ride at NHMS

WINDHAM, Maine – Austin Theriault of Fort Kent, Maine, is the inaugural winner of the “Maine Young Guns” competition, it was announced on the “Mainely Motorsports” program Wednesday night.

By being chosen from the three finalists, Theriault, an 18-year-old ACT Late Model Tour racer and Brad Keselowski Racing development driver, will have the right to drive for Maine-based Go Green Racing in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East G-Oil 100 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Saturday, September 22. Theriault will also compete at the track that weekend in the fourth annual Bond Auto Parts ACT Invitational.

“It's a huge honor for me to be named the first 'Maine Young Gun,'” Theriault said. “I want to thank everybody who voted for me and gave me this opportunity. I'm really looking forward to it. I love racing the ACT car at Loudon, and I'm excited about having a chance to drive in the K&N Pro Series there, too.”

Theriault currently sits second in the ACT Late Model Tour standings heading into the final two races of the season. Originally chosen as one of 10 drivers to participate in the first-ever “Maine Young Guns” program created by Go Green Racing owner Archie St. Hillaire of Old Orchard Beach, Maine, Theriault was joined by Brad Babb and Joey Doiron as one of the three finalists in the competition on July 4.

Since that time, Theriault has gone on a tear. He's not finished worse than sixth in any race he's participated in since his announcement as a finalist – including winning his first career ACT race at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway on July 28, less than one week after posting his second consecutive third-place finish in the TD Bank Oxford 250.

“All three of them worked their tails off this year,” said Mainely Motorsports owner and on-air host. “It boiled down to who got it done once the finalists were announced on July 4. Austin's worst finish was a sixth, in three different series that he competed in.

“When it was time to go, he went out and did it.”

Theriault and Go Green Racing will work together in the next several days to find a time to test the K&N Pro Series East car prior to the G-Oil 100 at New Hampshire.

“Congrats to both of the other finalists, both Brad and Joey are great racers and they both could just have easily been here,” Theriault said. “I got to know them a little bit through the 'Maine Young Guns.'

“It will be a lot of fun at New Hampshire in a few weeks.”

Labour Day Weekend at Delaware Speedway

The biggest race weekend of the season has arrived at Canada’s Finest Short Track. This weekend Delaware Speedway celebrates its 61st season of racing with a thrilling lineup of Labour Day Weekend competition.

The weekend lineup features something for everyone with great racing Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Tickets are available through the track website or at the gate the day of the events. Weekend value passes are also available as well as weekend camping.

Les Champions de la « Série Masters Canada-USA », Sportsman ANCA et Procam-Super-Trucks seront connus.

Lors du « Shoot out 125 » à l’ASE ce samedi soir.

Les jeux seront faits à l’issue du programme de samedi qui vient, le 1er septembre alors que sera présenté le « Shoot out 125 » qui mettra fin à la saison 2012 de la Série Masters Sportsman/Late Models Canada-USA mettent aux prises les pilotes Sportsman de l’Autodrome St-Eustache et les « Late Models » de la piste Airborne Speedway de Plattsburgh NY.

Conclusion également du championnat de la Série « Procam Super Truck » et des Sportsman ANCA.

Si on se fie au dernier affrontement entre les pilotes américains et ceux de St-Eustache disputé à Plattsburgh, où Bucko Granham, le #20, a été le premier américain à remporter une manche des 6 courses de cette série, les américains n’ont certainement pas l’intention de lâcher la serviette pour la conclusion de cette série qui a été dominé par les nôtres, avec Steve Côté et Maxime Pelletier en tête du classement de la Masters Series, alors que Granham occupe le 3e rang, juste devant Martin Goulet, en 4e position et ses deux compatriotes Jamie Begor (#19) et Robin Wood (#61) qui complètent le premier groupe de 6.

Du coté de la série Procam Super Truck, une chaude lutte oppose les deux premiers, Steve Lavigne, #72 de La Pocatière et la jeune recrue Alexandre Guénette, le #39, de Repentigny qui sont suivis de Martin Goulet de Mascouche et Sylvain Lemieux, de La Pocatière. Ce n’est à l’issue de cette finale de 75 tours que sera connu le champion de cette série de camionnette qui a connu en 2012 un essort considérable sous la gouverne de Jean-François Fradette.

Les voitures de la populaire Association des pilotes Vintage Québec seront également parmi les visiteurs avec leurs remarquables voitures agréables à regarder pour les nostalgiques.

D’autres luttes intéressantes sont au programme avec les divisions locales de l’ANCA, les Sport-Compactes, les Légendes Modifiées, les Production et les Challenge 4 à qui il reste encore trois programmes à disputer avant la conclusion le leurs championnats respectifs.

Pour l’occasion, les puits seront ouverts dès 13h15 pour les Sportsman, tandis que les autres divisions seront accueillies à 13h40. La période d’essais débutera à 14h10, les qualifications débuteront à 16h45 et seront suivies par les finales de 125 tours (en segments) pour les voitures de la série Masters Can-USA, 75 tours pour les Procam Super truck, alors que les autres divisions participeront à des finales de 15 minutes variant de 20 à 30 tours.

Le prix de l’admission dans la section « admission générale » a été fixé à 20$ pour les adultes, 10$ pour les 13 à 17 ans, tandis que les 12 ans et moins accompagnés d’un adulte seront admis tout à fait gratuitement. Le prix pour la section « puits » est de 25$ pour les personnes de tous âges.

ACT Teams Ready For Bond Auto ACT Invitational After NHMS Test and Tune

Loudon, NH – The American Canadian Tour completed their annual Test and Tune session at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Wednesday, August 29. A total of 27 teams took advantage of the test session in preparation for the fourth annual Bond Auto ACT Invitational scheduled for Saturday, September 22. Teams completed over six hours of practice including two simulation heat races with no issues or wrecks.

Kawartha Speedway star Dan McHattie of Peterborough, Ontario set the fast time of the morning session with a 31.652. Former ACT Champion Jean-Paul Cyr of Milton, Vermont was second quickest followed by 2010 Bond Auto ACT Invitational Champion Joey Polewarczyk, Jr. of Hudson, New Hampshire, rookie Jimmy Hebert of Williamstown, Vermont and Brian Hoar of Williston, Vermont.

The afternoon session was paced by Hebert, Polewarczyk and Hoar once again. Joining the mix was Ray Parent of Tiverton, Rhode Island and Emily Packard of East Montpelier, Vermont. Current ACT point leader Wayne Helliwell, Jr. of Dover, New Hampshire, Shawn Martin of Turner, Maine, Austin Theriault of Fort Kent, ME and Guy Caron of Lempster, New Hampshire also posted times in the top ten.

East Montpelier, Vermont’s Joey Laquerre came from the ninth place starting position to win the first of a pair of 8-lap simulation races. Current Oxford Plains Speedway point leader Travis Stearns of Turner, Maine took the win in the second simulation event.

Many of the test and tune teams will be back in action this weekend as the Série ACT Castrol heads to Autodrome Montmagny in Montmagny, Quebec for a 150-lap event on Saturday, September 1. The ACT Late Model Tour returns to Thunder Road in Barre, VT for the 34^th annual Bond Auto Labor Day Classic on Sunday, September 2.
