Reprise des activités de stock-car samedi à l'autodrome St-Eustache
 
Le sprint final de la saison 2010 s'amorce
 
ST-EUSTACHE – Suite à la grande réussite de la dernière soirée de stock-car à l'autodrome de St-Eustache avec la présentation de la deuxième course de la saison de la série ACT Castrol Edge, le 31 juillet dernier, tout le monde était en congé la semaine dernière alors qu'on se préparait pour amorcer le sprint final de la saison 2010 qui se terminera avec une présentation spéciale, l'ASE 150 du 3 octobre qui sera une compétition québécoise d'envergure entre les pilotes des trois principales séries dans la province :
 
ProCam Cummins, Supersportsman Lucas Oil Sportsman NASCAR Ippersiel.  
C'est ainsi qu'on pourra assister ce samedi, à compter de 16h, à la soirée « Lucas Oil » alors qu'on aura droit à sept finales pour les compétiteurs de cinq classes :
 
Challenge 4 ANCA Meilleur Ramoneur (25 tours) Sport Compact NASCAR Lucas Oil (2 X 25 tours) Légende Modifiée ANCA Lettrage Provan (50 tours) Production ANCA Centre de Chiniara (40 tours) Sportsman NASCAR Ippersiel (2 X 50 tours)  
Pour les deux principales finales de la soirée, en Sportsman NASCAR Ippersiel la grande question est de savoir si le champion en titre, Jonathan Bouvrette pourra se relancer dans la course au championnat alors qu'il est toujours sans victoire en 2010 lui qui avait dominé outrageusement la première année de cette nouvelle série à l'autodrome de St-Eustache.
 
Lors de la dernière soirée de stock-car, il s'était principalement illustré lors de la finale de la série ACT Castrol Edge en terminant dans le peloton de tête, ce qui a été de nature à l'encourager pour revenir au plus fort de la lutte au championnat local. Faut dire que cette saison, l'opposition est très forte avec un surprenant meneur en Maxime Pelletier qui a 181 points.
 
Cela lui permet de devancer le jeune Steve Côté qui revendique quatre victoires par trois points.  Les deux finales de samedi seront détermin

Airborne Tri-Track Series 100

               

Motor Woes Stall Tremont’s Airborne Bid

          South Plattsburgh – A large field of Modifieds is expected for tonight’s Tri-Track Modified Series 100 at Airborne, but six-time Albany-Saratoga track champion and current Devil’s Bowl point leader Kenny Tremont of West Sand Lake won’t be among them.

 

 

“I blew two motors over the weekend, one at Albany Saratoga and another at Lebanon Valley and then lost the power steering Sunday at Devil’s Bowl,” Tremont reported. “I’m feeling a little overwhelmed. Airborne is a great place to race, but four races in one week after what I’ve been through is more than I can handle. I’m looking forward to coming up to Plattsburgh for the Mohawk Casino Fall Foliage race next month.”

 

Tremont’s closest rivals, Keith Flach of Ravena, Mike Bruno of Castleton, VT, Marc Johnson of Guilderland and Don Scarborough of Brandon, VT will compete. Scarborough, an Airborne regular this season who sits 5th in the point standings behind Patrick Dupree, Martin Roy, Leon Gonyo and Greg Atkins, won the first race of the six-race Tri-Track Series at Devil’s Bowl in May.

 

Tonight’s event, presented by Plattsburgh Ford and Haley’s Lumber, pays $2,000-to-win. Thirty Modifieds will qualify for the starting line-up.

 

The NAPA Mini Modifieds and Monster Energy Bombers will also be in action. Grandstands open at 5 p.m. Post time is 7 p.m. Admission is $15/adults. Kids 12 and under – admitted free.

PASS is off to Seekonk for a Super Late Model/Pro Stock showdown

NAPLES ME ( 8/10) The Pro All Stars Series (PASS) North  super late model circuit makes its lone Bay State stop of 2010 this Saturday night August 14 when they take on the home track heroes of Seekonk Speedway, and the touring racers  will be looking  to even the score in Saturday nights’ 150 lap shootout.

 

The PASS stars made their first ever appearance at the birthplace of the Pro Stock in 2009 and the Seekonk regulars put a whipping on them. Cement Palace regular Tom Scully Jr upset Ben Rowe and Johnny Clark, scoring the win for the home team. The top ten was dotted with Seekonk regulars Dave Darling, Fred Astle, Rick Martin and Dave Hutchins, too. In fact, Hutchins and Ray Parent both led the event before Scully Jr. took over to capture the win.

Now the drivers that call PASS their home series don’t like getting beat at their own game so  you can expect  Johnny Clark, Ben Rowe, Cassius Clark, Donnie Whitten ,Trevor Sanborn, Gary Smith, Nick Ribbe, Randy Turner, Scott Alexander  and a whole  host of others to go all out to even the score. Add Seekonk’s Saturday night divisions to the mix and you have a can’t miss night of short track racing that’s guaranteed to please the most hard core race fan.

Autodrome Granby - ALL STAR LATE MODEL

ALL STAR LATE MODEL

 

 

Ce mercredi, le 11 août, une première en sol canadien, les bolides All Star O’relly Late Model seront sur le circuit de la rue Cowie.  Plus tôt cette saison, on avait eu la visite des Sprint Car 410 de la Série O’Reilly,  Tim Fuller a déjà confirmé sa présence et Tim Mc Creadie pourrait être présent même si ce n’est pas leur série régulière. Une chance unique de voir ces voitures rapides et spectaculaires.

 

Les All Star Late Model : 24 voitures ont confirmé leur présence.

 

Les pilotes de cette série coursent dans plusieurs états américains. Une finale de 50 tours sera présentée. Ces véhicules développent 800hp et peuvent rouler plus de 200 kilomètres heure. On peut s’attendre à un spectacle à couper le souffle sur le tracé de la rue Cowie.

Karl Allard Wins Série ACT Castrol Edge 150 at Autodrome Chaudiere

Vallee-Jonction, QC – St-Felicien’s Karl Allard picked up his fifth Série ACT Castrol Edge event of the 2010 season and his second in a row at Autodrome Chaudiere in Vallee-Jonction, QC on Saturday, August 7. Allard fought off 2009 champion Donald Theetge over the final 65 laps to earn the win.

 

David Michaud took the lead from outside pole-sitter Daniel Descoste on lap 15 and would hold the lead through lap 54 before Patrick Laperle got by on a restart. Laperle lost the lead on lap 83 when he went around off the nose of second place runner Jean-François Déry.

Allard then got around Theetge on the restart and the two would battle the remainder of the race with Allard taking the lead for good on lap 119. Theetge would hold on for second, while Laperle worked his way back through the field for third. Michaud picked up fourth with Déry rebounding for fifth. Daniel Descoste, Patrick Hamel, Gaetan Lauzier, Stephane Descoste, and Patrick Cliche rounded out the top ten. The 150 lap event was completed in 56 minutes and 52 seconds with eight cautions.

Allard has already been invited to the ACT Invitational at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Saturday, September 18 so the number of invited drivers remains at 10. Allard is joined by Nick Sweet, Eddie MacDonald, Patrick Laperle, Dave Pembroke, Miles Chipman, Brian Hoar, Joey Polewarczyk, Jr., Mark Hayward and Sylvain Lacombe as those with invites.

The Série ACT Castrol Edge will be joined by the American based ACT Late Model Tour in a 200 lap combination race next Saturday, August 14 at Circuit Riverside Speedway in St-Croix, QC.
