Barre, VT – Former Thunder Road Champion Jamie Fisher, and two-time Serie ACT Castrol Champion Donald Theetge were the first to file entries for the 50^th Annual People’s United Bank Milk Bowl on Sunday, September 30 at Barre’s Thunder Road.

Fisher filed within 30 minutes of receiving his entry form last Thursday. “This may be the biggest Milk Bowl we ever run for, so I didn’t want to waste any time,” said Fisher. “We’ve finally got the car going great again this year, I think we’ve got a real shot,” he finished.

Two days later in Canada, Theetge handed in his entry minutes after receiving it saying, “I will be there. We are coming to win, and I would love nothing more than to bring the Milk Bowl trophy to Quebec.”

By entering before the early entry August 15^th deadline, the pair has been entered into a drawing for eight (8) Goodyear tires for the event.

Fisher currently rides fifth overall in the Late Model weekly standings in one of the tightest point battles in recent memory at Thunder Road, and has already claimed three podium finishes at the Barre high banks in 2012. Theetge is on a tear on the Serie ACT Castrol, earning 2 wins and four top fives in the first five starts of the year. Both drivers are hungry for their first Milk Bowl trophy.

Qualifying kicks off on Saturday, September 29, and the 50^th Annual running of the People’s United Bank Milk Bowl will be on Sunday, September 30. Post time is 1pm.

WEST HAVEN, VT – Some of Devil’s Bowl Speedway’s most accomplished stock car racing champions will climb behind the wheel again at Friday’s C.J. Richards Memorial event presented by Carrara Masonry & Concrete. All-star drivers from the West Haven, VT half-mile will strap into cars from the track’s Daredevil class for a special showdown as part of the event that features a 67-lap race for the headline NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Bond Auto Parts Modified division.

Among the entrants in the Daredevil event is Butch Jelley of Andover, VT. Jelley raced at Devil’s Bowl Speedway when Richards opened the track in 1967. Jelley’s highlights include six consecutive Modified wins in 1969 and the 1975 track championship. He’ll be joined by past Modified and Late Model standouts Tim LaDuc, Jimmy Ryan, Ray Hoard, Lee Nutting, Fred Little, Charlie Brown, Ralph Bruno, and Don Mattison. Together, the group accounts for over 150 feature victories and 10 track championships. The drivers will compete in track-owned Daredevil cars – virtually street-legal race cars with only safety modifications – which offer fans, sponsors, and members of the community the opportunity to race.

“This showdown is something fun and exciting that will really bring C.J. Richards’ legacy to the forefront. These drivers are the ones that built Devil’s Bowl into what it was under C.J.’s watch,” Devil’s Bowl Speedway owner/promoter Mike Bruno said. Bruno explained that the event will be run in three parts: A pair of five-car heat races will each qualify two drivers to the final round. “The cars may not be 600-horsepower Modifieds,” Bruno chuckled, “but I’m sure these guys will drive them like they are.”

The comeback stars are not limited to just the Daredevils, though; Todd Stone of Middlebury, VT returns to the Modifieds after finishing third one week ago in his first start at Devil’s Bowl Speedway since 2009. In the intermediate Renegade class, former Modified champion Don Miller of Wells, VT will drive a car owned by top racer Frank Monroe, who was sidelined by surgery last month.

Also on the card along with racing for the entry-level Bomber division is a silent auction to benefit the Rutland Regional Medical Center Marrow Donor Program. Items for bid include autographed memorabilia from local racers Beaver Dragon and Ron Proctor and NASCAR Sprint Cup Series stars Jeff Gordon, Kevin Harvick, Mark Martin, and more. The second of three Western Canadian Events

Trois-Rivieres, July 19^th, 2012 – Louis-Philippe Dumoulin will be participating in the esteemed event, Edmonton Indy, this July 22^nd in Alberta, behind the wheel of the n°47 WeatherTech Canada/ Bellemare Dodge. After being absent for two consecutive years, the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series is making its return to Edmonton. The 2011 Rookie of the Year champion, along with the other drivers, will familiarise themselves with the new temporary track configuration during the additional practice session scheduled for this Friday July 20^th.

Reconnu en tant que spécialiste des circuits routiers, Louis-Philippe Dumoulin a fait sa marque lors des trois dernières épreuves (16, 23 juin et 19 juillet) démontrant à ses adversaires qu’il est également un sérieux rival sur ovale. Au volant de la voiture n°47 WeatherTech Canada/ Bellemare, le Québécois apprivoisera la nouvelle configuration de la piste du Edmonton City Centre Airport (Edmonton « 100 »). Le tracé ressemble davantage à un circuit de Formule 1600 : 28 tours, un enchaînement de 13 nouveaux virages rapides et serrés sur 101.66 kilomètres.

« C’est vraiment l’fun que ce soit un nouveau tracé pour tout le monde, surtout que certains pilotes connaissaient très bien l’ancien circuit d’Edmonton. Plus que deux courses dans l’Ouest et le Trifluvien effectuera un retour en piste sur le tracé qui l’a vu évolué.

A renowned road circuit specialist, Louis-Philippe Dumoulin has left his mark during the last three events (June 16^th, 23^rd and July 19^th) demonstrating to fellow competitors that he is also a serious rival on oval circuits. TD Bank 250 Week Kicks Off

OXFORD, Maine - - The Oxford Plains Speedway Acceleration Divisions kicked off the beginning of a busy period of racing Wednesday night. Five divisions ran a nearly caution free program. Last Minute Sponsorship Arrives For Will Kimmel

Kimmel Racing To Race Chicagoland

JOLIET, Illinois (July 18, 2012) - - Even before arriving at Chicagoland Speedway this weekend, Kimmel Racing and driver Will Kimmel (@willkimmel) are excited about their chances for Saturday afternoon’s Ansell ActivArmr® 150 for the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards.

The excitement comes from a last minute sponsorship alliance with AccucareTX and Tilted Kilt who have agreed to jump aboard the Kimmel Racing (@kimmel_racing) train for the 12^th race of the 2012 season. After having to start and park last weekend at Iowa Speedway, Kimmel Racing will return to full force and look to improve on their stout fifth place run at New Jersey Motorsports Park at the beginning of the month.

Together, the Kimmel Racing team led by father-son duo of Bill and Will Kimmel will look not only for a strong finish in their first mile-and-half race track together this year but look to pull of an impressive feat by putting their No. 68 AccucareTX / Tilted Kilt Ford Fusion in victory circle.

“Words can’t describe the feeling knowing that we’re actually going to be able to race this weekend because of the support of AccucareTX and Tilted Kilt,” said driver Will Kimmel. “We’ve experience our fair share of ups and downs this season – but none of that matters going into the weekend because our focus is solely on going out there and showing what our team is capable of not only for ourselves but for those who believe in us too.”

AccucareTX provides on-site contract rehabilitation services including physical and occupational therapies, speech-language pathology services, and home therapy in a variety in inpatient and outpatient settings.

Despite not having the ability to participate in the open-test session in the “Windy City” a few weeks ago, the Clarksville, Indiana-based team is confident in their ability to get the job done and fight against those who did partake in the opportunity.

“We know what we’re looking for,” offered owner and crew chief Bill Kimmel. “We’re bringing one of the strongest Fords in our fleet and the horsepower from RoushYates should be spectacular and everyone knows that Will is not afraid to get up on the wheel. If you were to say, we’ve raised the bar for ourselves heading into Chicagoland, you would be right. Hopefully, we can go out there on Saturday and have a strong finish and turn these partnerships into something more. Ultimately, without their support, we would not be racing this weekend and we don’t forget that.”

When Kimmel isn’t behind the wheel of the No. 68 AccucareTX / Tilted Kilt Ford Fusion, the Sellersburg, Indiana native is busting his hump with his full service lawn care business which serves several surrounding cities and includes both business and residential clients.

“It keeps me busy, that’s for sure,” Kimmel explained. “From the moment the sun rises until it begins to set it seems like I’m out there hard at it. It’s a lot of work – but it helps out with stuff that we need in the shop. The family’s real supportive so that makes things a lot easier to deal with.”

Kimmel will make his 10^th start of the year this weekend at Chicagoland Speedway. Preparing to run start to finish for the sixth time in 2012, the team is search of their third top-five run and fourth top-10 effort overall. Overall, the 24-year old will make his 35^th career ARCA start.

Before heading to the track on Friday, the Kimmel Racing team will make a stop at the Tilted Kilt in Joliet, Illinois from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. The Celtic-themed sports bar and restaurant chain is located at 3340 Mall Loop Drive No. 14, Joliet, Illinois 60435.

The Ansell ActivArmr® 150 (100 laps / 150 miles) is the 12^th of 20 events on the 2012 ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards schedule. The 12^th ARCA race at Chicagoland is a two-day show. Practice begins Friday, July 20 with an hour and a half session planned from 6:05 p.m. - 7:35 p.m. Menards pole qualifying presented by Ansell is set for the next morning slated to begin at 9:30 a.m. The event will take the green flag later in the day at 4:00 p.m. The race will be televised live on SPEED with additional coverage including timing and scoring will be available through the ARCA Racing Network (ARN) online at arcaracing.com. Thunder Road's 50th Milk Bowl Reaches Record $100,000

Historic Winnings Posted for Marquee Race

Barre, VT – Thunder Road officials have announced that the 50^thAnnual People’s United Bank Milk Bowl on Sunday, September 30^th, will boast winnings exceeding $100,000 for competitors at “The Nation’s Site of Excitement.” It is the highest purse ever posted for the event deemed the “Toughest Short Track Race in America”.

The season-ending event for Barre’s Thunder Road has long been a marquee for Northeast Auto Racing, but the 50^th anniversary will be even more special. The weekend will include a “Reserve Milk Bowl” for up to thirty competitors who do not qualify for the 50^th People’s United Bank Milk Bowl. It will be comprised of a two-segment feature event, as well as a $20,000 purse of its own, with $3,000 going to the winner.

Long time track promoter Tom Curley feels the 50^th anniversary is well worth it.

“For over 50 years Thunder Road’s Milk Bowl has garnered a reputation for racers and fans as one of the most difficult and competitive races in North America,” said Curley. “To celebrate the 50^th running of this event, we felt it was appropriate to raise the stakes and offer anybody who wants to enter an opportunity to race that weekend. The “Reserve Milk Bowl”, with a purse of over $20,000, will give everybody that opportunity,’” he finished.

The drivers were ecstatic to be racing for the most money in Milk Bowl history.

“Wow, that’s just awesome,” remarked 2011 Milk Bowl Champion Brian Hoar. “Most big races for other series are around that $20,000 mark. Man, this is what it’s all about!”

2008 Track Champion Eric Williams was also taken back. “Whoa, that certainly makes it worth my while,” he grinned.

Even Lt. Governor Phil Scott got in on the action saying, “That’s some extra incentive for sure. It really doesn’t get much better than that, everyone is going to want to run it!”

The 50^th Annual People’s United Bank Milk Bowl kicks off with qualifying on Saturday, September 29, and will begin with a 1:00pm post time on Sunday, September 30.

Dery Stays Hot, Capitalizes in Riverside 150

St-Croix – Quebec City’s Jean Francois Dery dominated the field on the way to his second victory in a row in the Riverside 150 at Circuit Riverside Speedway in St-Croix, QC on Saturday, July 14. Dery battled all race long with hometown heroes Dany Trepanier and Patrick Hamel who came home second and third respectively.

The first 75 lap segment of two was dominated early by St-Edouard, QC’s Trepanier who started from the second position. A lap 31 caution restart, however, brought Dery to the front of segment one. Trepanier battled back on the inside lane on lap 35, reclaiming the lead for eight more laps, until a lap 44 restart brought Dery to the front row once again. Dery took off once again on the restart, leading until Trepanier took the lead for good on lap 54.

Segment 2 featured battle-scarred Karl Allard, who was involved in a nasty multi-car wreck in his heat, starting from the pole to develop a large advantage over the field. Hamel slowly reeled him in for the lead, and finally stole it from him on the outside lane after a lap 31 caution. Hamel stretched his lead until a hungry Dery had made his way through the field to Hamel’s back bumper. Dery took the lead for three laps on lap 64, but Hamel drove to victory in the second segment to claim third overall, just one point shy of Trepanier for second.

Patrick Cliche made his way to fourth overall, and David Michaud battled back in the second segment to complete the top five. Steven Boissoneault was sixth, defending Champion Patrick Laperle fought through a series of flat tires to come home seventh, and Jonathan Bouvrette, Allard, and Steve Lesage rounded out the top ten. Point leader Donald Theetge suffered a blown engine in segment 1, ending his day with a nineteenth place finish.

The race was completed in 2 hours 2 minutes and 27 seconds, and was slowed by 13 cautions.

Dery has already been invited to the Bond Auto ACT Invitational at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Saturday, September 22.

Several Quebec teams will be in action for the TD Bank 250 at Oxford Plains Speedway in Oxford, ME his Sunday, July 22. ACT Serie Castrol will resume at Autodrome St-Eustache in St-Eustache, QC on July 28.

Samedi soir le 21 juillet lors la Coupe Sani-Vac

Les pilotes de la Série Masters Sportsman Canada-USA, disputeront, ce samedi, à l’autodrome St-Eustache, la quatrième manche des six prévues entre les engagés de la division Sportsman ANCA et ceux des « Late Models » de la piste Airborne de Plattsburgh NY.

Les Américains seront d’attaque avec en piste les favoris du tracé américain qui voudront certainement enregistre un premier gain dans cette série dominée par nos pilotes québécois qui revendiquent les trois premières victoires. Parmi eux, Branham (20), Begor (19) et Wood (61) occupent les quatrième, cinquième et siième positions au classement cumulatif, après trois manches. L’écart est seulement de 30 points entre le meneur et la sixième position.

Les gagnants des trois premières courses, Pelletier, qui est devenu papa une deuxième fois au cours de la semaine, Côté et Bouvrette, ce dernier sera de la partie avec la voiture Sani-Vac #14-, ne voudront certainement pas s’en laisser s’imposer et auront le couteau entre les dents pour cette Coupe Sani-Vac de samedi soir. Il y a également Jean-François Bouvrette et les autres locaux qui ont l’intention de s’illustrer dans le palmarès des vainqueurs de cette série.

Également au programme, les pilotes de la division Sport-Compactes qui reviennent d’une tournée de deux week-ends à Montmagny et Ste-Croix dans le cadre de la triple Couronne Bestbuy, seront de retour à l’ASE pour la poursuite de leur championnat local, championnat dominé par le jeune Maxime Gauvreau, 17 ans, de La Plaine, confortablement installé en tête devant les deux pilotes de Ste-Marthe-sur-le-Lac, à 16 points de Jason Morand et à 20 points de Patrick Boucher.

Les pilotes de la populaire et spectaculaire classe des Légendes Modifiées comptant trois gagnants différents au cours des trois derniers programmes y seront également pour y disputer leur cinquième course de la saison. Stéphane Aubin, de Boisbriand domine à 22 points devant Sylvain Denis de la région de Québec. Ils sont suivis par le gagnant du dernier programme, Stéphane Caron de Laval.

La division de soutien des 8 cylindres, les Production seront également en piste avec Steve Ladouceur de Ste-Agathe, le dominateur, et ses poursuivants dans cette division où l’action ne manque jamais.

Les pilotes de la relève des Challenge 4 compléteront le programme de la soirée avec la cinquième manche de leur championnat dominé par Mathieu Latreille de St-Eustache. Seulement 25 points séparent les cinq premiers dans cette division qui a vu quatre gagnants différents se relayer depuis le début de la saison.

Pour cette soirée de stock-car, les puits ouvriront à 17h00 pour la Série Masters, tandis que les autres divisions seront accueillies dès 17h30. Les sessions de pratiques débuteront à 18h00, les qualifications suivront à 19h55 et les finales à 21h15 pour se terminer avant 23h00.

Le coût de l’admission dans la section « gradins » est de 20$ pour les adultes, 10$ pour les 13-17ans, tandis que les enfants 12 ans et moins seront admis gratuitement. Le coût sera de 25$ pour tous dans la section « puits ».

PASS Super Late Models, Mods on Oxford Plains docket this weekend.

NAPLES ME (7/17) Two Pro All Stars Series (PASS) North touring series are preparing for their first Oxford (ME) Plains Speedway appearance of 2012 as the racing extravaganza that is TD Bank Oxford 250 weekend approaches.

The PASS Mods highlight Friday night's action, presented by the Sun Journal. Many of the PASS Mod competitors learned their trade in Oxford's weekly racing series. Andy Shaw, Dale Shaw and Alan Wilson were once regulars at the Route 26 oval and Wilson was victorious in the 2011 edition. The Mods will battle for 40 green flag laps on a card that includes the Oxford Championship Series (no Late Models), the Oxford Acceleration series and a happy hour practice session for the PASS North Super Late Models. Friday evening July 20 the racing goes green at 6:30 PM.

After four events Andy Shaw leads the PASS Mod standings by seven over his uncle Dale Shaw. Andy Shaw, Alan Wilson, Pancho Darveau and Rusty Bryant have each scored a PASS Mod feature win this season.

The PASS North Super Late Models take center stage on Saturday July 21. It's Dunkin Donuts Night at the speedway and the PASS stars and cars are scheduled for 150 green flag laps. Heat races will determine the starting line-up but 2012 race winners never start a PASS feature in the top ten and there's always a battle to get to the front of the field.

Mainers hold down the top three spots in the PASS North super late model point standings; Morrills' Travis Benjamin leads Farmingtons' Cassius Clark by a scant nine points and defending series champion Johnny Clark, who hails from Hallowell, trails Cassius by just one. Benjamin, (1) Cassius Clark (2), Johnny Clark (2) Joey Doiron (1), Scott Dragon (1) and Derek Ramstrom (1) have all visited PASS North victory lane this season and all six are on the early entry list for Oxford. Kyle Busch claimed the 2011 race ahead of Cassius Clark and Lonnie Sommerville.

The Oxford Championship Series (no Late Models) completes Saturday's lineup. Racing goes green at 6:30 PM.
