8e SAISON POUR LES ÉQUIPES DE L'ASS. DE STOCK CAR VINTAGE QUÉBEC

Pour publication immédiate :

8e SAISON POUR LES ÉQUIPES DE

L'ASS.

DirtCar appoints Mike Perrotte

DirtCar appoints Mike Perrotte

Dirtrackdigest.com reports that DirtCar appointed Mike Perrotte to lead its Northeast division, the sanction and the Big Block and 358 Series.

Until recently Perrotte had turned Airborne Park Speedway around, with impressive improvements, also taking the risk with the running dirt modifieds on asphalt on a regular basis.  With great success and it was well appreciated by the fans.

He was also seen, on a sporadic, basis behind the wheel of a race car on both dirt and pavement.  A very skilled driver.

Closer to home, he worked with Alan Labrosse and the Autodrome St-Eustache track to have the modifieds run on the 4/10-mile asphalt oval in the lower Laurentians, just North of Montreal in 2014; earlier this week, the Labrosse clan announced that they wanted to fill the void created by Devil's Bowl Speedway and Airborne by racing the powerful 358 in a 10-race Championship.

I think, when Dirt picked Perrotte, they chose someone highly qualified for the job and a very nice guy.

Good luck Mike.

Mike Perrotte apointed by DirtCar

Bonne chance Mike.

Branham Returns to Modified Division at Airborne Park Speedway

Branham Returns to Modified Division at Airborne Park Speedway

Track championship, NASCAR rookie title among hometown racer's goals

For Immediate Release                                                                                                                                                                                 APS-020515-1

PLATTSBURGH, NY – Bucko Branham, one of the North Country's all-time winningest stock car drivers, is returning to top-tier competition at Airborne Park Speedway in 2015.  The Plattsburgh, NY favorite and 2014 Late Model track champion is moving up for a full season in the J&S Steel Modified division of the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series (NWAAS) and joins a growing list of racers headed to the premier class.

Among Branham's 57 career victories at Airborne are six wins in open-wheel Modifieds.  He'll return to the class this year hoping to make a run at not only the track championship but also NWAAS Rookie of the Year honors.  As a first-time NWAAS Division I license holder, Branham will be considered a rookie in the NASCAR program and hopes to follow the lead of reigning track champion Nick Heywood, who took both the National and New York State Rookie of the Year crowns in 2014.

Branham has acquired proven equipment for his Modified return, and will campaign a chassis driven to multiple victories by Jessey Mueller.  Branham pulled double-duty in 2014, driving his own car in the Late Model division while serving as Mueller's crew chief, and has an intimate knowledge of the chassis.

"I really liked the Modifieds when I ran them a few years ago, and I'm ready to get back into one.  The whole team is excited for the season to start, and I know we'll have a good car," Branham said.  "I'm not getting any younger, and I figured it was time to do something different this year."

Branham reports that he had his Modified plans already in the works, but when news broke recently about long-time Airborne rival Jamy Begor joining the Modified division, it motivated him.

"Jamy and I are friends off the track, but we always seem to create a little extra excitement when we race together," Branham said with a smile.  "It'll be good to rub door bars with him again, like old times."

A veteran team returns to back Branham, including Scott Bouyea, Howie Drake, Rick Frenyea, and Bill Clukey.  Branham's wife, Tammy, is a familiar fixture at Airborne, as are daughter Billie Jo and son Buddy.  Sponsorship from Liquor & Wine Warehouse and Plattsburgh Paving will support the effort, and Branham says he is proud to extend a marketing relationship of more than 20 years with Bud Light during his racing career.  If additional sponsorship can be found, Branham will also chase the track championship at Devil's Bowl Speedway in Vermont and go after NASCAR Whelen All-American Series National Championship points.

Airborne Park Speedway's 62nd season of stock car racing opens on Saturday, May 2.  Airborne is located on Broderick Road in South Plattsburgh, NY, one mile from Exit 36 on the Interstate 87 Northway.  For more information, call (518) 647-4444 or visit www.AirborneParkSpeedway.com.  Airborne Park Speedway is on Facebook at Facebook.com/AirborneParkSpeedway and on Twitter at @AirborneSpeed.

NASCAR Announces Canadian Tire Series Schedule Update

For Immediate Release

NASCAR Announces Canadian Tire Series Schedule Update

Inaugural Event At Sunset Added To 2015 Slate

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Feb. 5, 2015) – NASCAR announced today that a June 20 date at Ontario's Sunset Speedway has been added to the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series 2015 event schedule.

The Leland Industries 300 presented by Johnsonville will mark the inaugural visit for the series to the .333-mile, high-banked oval located in Innisfil, Ontario, just 40 minutes north of Toronto. Sunset Speedway, which originally opened in 1968, will become the 18th different facility to play host to the Canadian Tire Series since its inaugural 2007 campaign, and the third new track to welcome the series in the last two seasons.

Although the Canadian Tire Series has not previously visited Sunset, there are some connections. Series veteran Mark Dilley serves as the track's general manager and fellow competitor Jeff Lapcevich's son Cayden, who plans to make his Canadian Tire Series debut in 2015, is the reigning champion in Sunset's super stock division.

It was also announced today that Sunset has joined the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series, becoming the third track in Canada to feature weekly NASCAR-sanctioned racing.

The addition of the Leland Industries 300 presented by Johnsonville to the 2015 schedule came on the heels of the recent announcement by the new ownership group of Barrie Speedway that it has ceased racing operations, which forced the cancellation of the Canadian Tire Series' scheduled Sept. 12 event.

The 2015 Canadian Tire Series schedule will open at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park as the headliner to Victoria Day SpeedFest Weekend on May 16-17.

DRAG RACING NIGHT OF CHAMPIONS TO SHOWCASE CANADA’S STRAIGHT-LINE CHAMPS AT MOTORAMA

DRAG RACING NIGHT OF CHAMPIONS TO SHOWCASE CANADA'S STRAIGHT-LINE CHAMPS AT MOTORAMA

Awards Ceremony Takes Place Friday, March 13 at Toronto's International Centre

TORONTO, ON // FEBRUARY 3, 2015 • The very best of the Canadian drag racing fraternity will be recognized for their 2014 accomplishments at the Drag Racing Night of Champions, held as part of the Friday night (March 13) celebrations at the Motorama Custom Car & Motorsports Expo.

The Motorama show runs March 13, 14, & 15 in the reconfigured Halls 1 and 2 of Toronto's International Centre, located adjacent to Pearson International Airport.

This will be the second annual Drag Racing Night of Champions; its debut at the 2014 Canadian Motorsports Expo drew rave reviews from the drivers, promoters and sponsors.

"The Drag Racing Night of Champions is a season highlight for the racers. To have their successes featured in front of their racing peers is a special moment for any driver," stated Andrew Stirk, Race Director for the DSE Automotive Sportsman Series. "From the business side, the Night of Champions is a great avenue to build awareness and to showcase the sport of drag racing. Any exposure, especially at a high profile event such as theMotorama show, can only have a positive effect."

Stirk estimates that upwards of 50 class champions from a dozen drag racing associations and racetracks will be honoured at the Night of Champions. Each attendee will be interviewed on the Johnsonville Stage before being presented with a personalized award. Hosting duties for the second annual event will (tentatively) be shared between respected drag racing announcers Larry Satchell and Bill Richards, with the awards courtesy of DSE (David Stirk Enterprises) Automotive.

Concluded Stirk, "Any race, in whatever discipline, is tough to win. And winning a championship is even tougher. I'm very thankful that we'll have the chance to recognize the achievements of the champions at the Motorama show. Many of the drivers have already received awards at their own galas, in front of their own dedicated fans. Now we have the opportunity to showcase their efforts to an entirely new audience."

Year-end track or series champions can register to be part of the Drag Racing Night of Champions presentations by clicking on the DRNOC event logo at www.MotoramaShow.com. Once registered, they are eligible to take part in the awards presentations and receive a 'swag bag' of sport-related items. It will also make them eligible for random prize draws at the end of the event.

Prior to the DRNOC presentations, at 6:30 p.m. on Friday night, a drag racing panel – featuring several of the country's top racers, promoters and builders – will be live on the Johnsonville Stage at Motorama for a one-hour discussion about the upcoming season and other drag racing-related issues. Information about the event schedule, sponsorship opportunities, this year's celebrity presenter and additional DRNOC details will be posted on the website as details are confirmed.

The vast majority of photos and videos taken during the show are captured by cameras aimed squarely at the stage.

This year, for the inaugural Motorama Custom Car & Motorsports Expo, the high-profile stage will be sponsored by Johnsonville Sausage. Already the most popular brand of sausage in the US, Johnsonville sausages are available in 30 other countries around the world, including Canada.

The Motorama Custom Car & Motorsports Expo takes place March 13, 14 & 15 at the International Centre, across from Toronto's Pearson International Airport.

In addition to having a giant, 30' x 10' custom-designed banner displayed on the Johnsonville Stage throughout all three days of Motorama, the company will further highlight its presence at the show by presenting a 20' x 40' booth, adjacent to the Johnsonville Stage, from which its representatives will distribute discount coupons and delicious samples of its world-famous sausages, discuss their products, and display some of the stock cars that Johnsonville sponsors in Canada, including the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series Johnsonville / BDI Ford co-driven by series veterans Kerry Micks and Mark Dilley.

"Johnsonville is involved in Canadian motorsports because it gives us a great opportunity to connect directly with racing fans, which we've identified as one of our core target consumer groups," said Brad Martin, Managing Director Canada for Johnsonville Sausage. "Our products fit well with the experience of getting outdoors, at a racetrack, and enjoying good food and good times with friends and other racing fans. We're excited about sponsoring the Johnsonville Stage at Motorama because the show attracts an audience that we're eager to interact with, at a time when everyone's getting excited about the upcoming season."

Speaking on behalf of Motorama, Mike Galipeau said, "We are very happy that Johnsonville is taking such a high-profile sponsorship role at this year's Motorama show. Last year, Brad and his team had a booth near the stage during the Canadian Motorsports Expo, so they got a firsthand look at how busy it is and all the neat things that go on there.

"Johnsonville is a fantastic supporter of Canadian motorsports and we encourage everyone who comes to Motorama to enjoy the many events that will take place on the Johnsonville Stage. And while they're there, try some of their great sausages and grab a store coupon. We encourage everyone to support Johnsonville and all of the companies that make Motorama and Canadian motorsports possible when they're making their buying decisions."

The schedule of events for the Johnsonville Stage – including times and participants for the celebrity Q&As, autograph sessions, media announcements, discussion panels, awards presentations and the other events – will be published in the weeks leading up to the show atwww.MotoramaShow.com.

Tate Fogleman Partners With Woodman Racing For Run At PASS Titles

Tate Fogleman Partners With Woodman Racing For Run At PASS Titles

-      For Immediate Release

CHARLOTTE, NC (February 3) – Jay Fogleman Racing will partner with Woodman Racing to field the #8 Ford entry for Tate Fogleman.  The new team will chase both the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) National Championship and PASS South Super Late Model titles in 2015.  Woodman Racing's Dicky Woodman will maintain the machine out of his China Grove, NC shops and will serve as crew chief on race day for the third generation racer.

The new partnership will serve as a reunion of sorts between the two teams.  In 2013, Jay Fogleman drove primarily for Woodman Racing en route to both the PASS National Championship and PASS South Super Late Model title.

"We're really looking forward to it," said Jay Fogleman.  "It will take a lot of pressure off me while I pursue other business opportunities not having to maintain the cars in my shop.  Dicky and my family have become great friends and I feel like this is the best way we can focus on Tate and continue to develop his racing career."

Tate Fogleman is coming off one of the best seasons of his young career.  In just his second season in a PASS South Super Late Model, Tate continued to show the promise he developed during a successful PASS Pro Late Model career.  The younger Fogleman scored his best career finish, a strong third place effort at Southern National Motorsports Park in July, and finished third in the PASS National Championship standings.  Woodman sees many of the same traits in Tate that took his father to victory lane so many times over the course of long his long career.

"They both know how to win, they both have good drive ability, but it's hard to compare their styles because they come from such different racing backgrounds," says Woodman.  "We tested for the first time last weekend and I would take Tate anywhere right now.  He was as good on lap 100 as he was on lap 4.  It's a little more than a racing deal, it's more like family."

The 2015 season will begin on Saturday, March 7 with the 10th Annual South Carolina Clash at Dillon Motor Speedway with rotating practice starting at Noon, followed by qualifying at 3:30 PM, and feature racing at 5 PM for the PASS South Super Late Models, PASS Pro Late Models, Chargers, and Legends.  Please go toProAllStarsSeries.com for entry forms and the complete weekend schedule.

The Pro All Stars Series is recognized as North America's premier sanctioning body for asphalt Super Late Models and boasts such marquee events as the legendary Oxford 250 at Oxford Plains Speedway and PASS South's Easter Bunny 150 at the historic Hickory Motor Speedway.  For technical information concerning all PASS divisions please send questions topassracing@roadrunner.com.  For media or marketing questions, please contact Alan Dietz at 704-231-2039 or alandietzpass@live.com.  And, don't forget to "Like" the Pro All Stars Series on Facebook or follow us on Twitter @PASSSLM14 to keep up with breaking news as it happens.

NASCAR Makes Two Key Competition Personnel Announcements

NASCAR Makes Two Key Competition Personnel Announcements

Little Named to Inspection/Officiating Post; Sawyer to Lead Truck Series

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (February 2, 2015) – NASCAR today announced two leadership changes in its Competition department, including the selection of Chad Little to the new role of Managing Director, Technical Inspection/Officiating and Elton Sawyer to Managing Director, NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. Both assume their new responsibilities immediately.

"NASCAR recently has made significant investments in both the technical inspection and officiating areas of our sport," said Steve O'Donnell, NASCAR executive vice president and chief racing development officer. "Those areas have become flagship examples of innovation, keeping NASCAR as a premier sport. Chad is an ideal candidate to provide oversight and lead us to further evolve in those critical areas.

"Similarly, we're fortunate to have a professional in Elton, who has substantial experience across the racing industry, to direct the popular NASCAR Camping World Truck Series."

In the new role, Little will provide high-level oversight in all areas of technical inspection and officiating for the Competition department, bringing to bear NASCAR's Research & Development. The updated officiating model includes the introduction of NASCAR's new Pit Road Technology, which debuts during Speedweeks in Daytona later this month.

Little, who has spent more than 10 years at NASCAR, most recently served as Series Director in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and the Weekly/Touring Series. A former driver in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, Little brings a strong background in key areas of competition to this new role.

Sawyer joins NASCAR after serving as Director of Team Operations for Action Express Racing in the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship governed by IMSA. Prior to that role, he held competition roles at Red Bull Racing and Evernham Motorsports. Sawyer also spent part of his career driving in NASCAR's national series.

"We're pleased with the development of our competition team," O'Donnell said. "Chad and Elton will join the collaborative model already in place at the R&D Center. They will work very closely with Gene Stefanyshyn and Robin Pemberton and the rest of our series directors to help NASCAR capitalize upon its strong momentum heading into the 2015 season."
