En route vers la saison 2016 NASCAR de l'Autodrome St-Eustache

Avec le soleil et la chaleur qui refont surface, c'est enfin le temps de se tourner vers le début de la saison 2016 à l'Autodrome St-Eustache. Tout comme les amateurs, les pilotes des divisions NASCAR Sportsman Lucas Oil, NASCAR Sport Compacte MRQ, NASCAR Légende Modifiée et Challenge 4 Le Meilleur Ramoneur, sont impatients de retrouver le circuit qu'ils affectionnent.

Réunion pré-saison

Tout d'abord, les pilotes intéressés à participer aux événements stockcar de l'ASE, sont cordialement invités à prendre part à la réunion pré-saison le vendredi 22 avril prochain, à 19h00. La réunion qui aura comme sujet principal les procédures de courses, se déroulera au 2e étage du complexe de l'ASE.

NASCAR Sportsman Lucas Oil

Les équipes désirant alimenter leurs bolides avec l'essence de course Sunoco, pourront désormais le faire à compter de cette saison. L'essence Sunoco choisie devra toutefois respecter la norme d'octane décrit dans le livre de règlement de la série. Les équipes pourront se la procurer auprès de JASS Performance 450-220-9648.

Enduro 1er mai

Les inscriptions vont bon train pour la première épreuve du circuit ovale en 2016. L'Enduro 200 qui regroupera des voitures 4-6 et 8 cylindres, avec des pilotes prêts à tout pour franchir le fil d'arrivé le premier, aura lieu dimanche le 1er mai prochain. Salon SCP Évolution

SCP Évolution perpétue la tradition présentée par le mondialement célèbre Salon SCP Auto, un évènement annuel qui a démontré le meilleur dans la préparation et l'innovation de voitures personnalisées. Au cours de ses 9 années, SCP a été considéré comme le premier lieu de ce genre, attirant des véhicules exposés de partout en Amérique du Nord. En 2016, SCP revient à Montréal avec une nouvelle vision et un but revitalisé. Les 23 et 24 avril, Place Forzani à Laval  accueillera le retour de l'évènement automobile le plus attendu de tous les temps. L'Autodrome St-Eustache sera présente sur place avec un imposant kiosque. L'équipe de l'ASE vous invite à venir les saluer et discuter NASCAR avec elle. Une voiture NASCAR Sportsman Lucas Oil sera d'ailleurs en exposition dans leur kiosque.

Matt Craig Battles Back From 2 Laps Down For PASS South Win At Caraway

SOPHIA, NC (April 16) – Matt Craig battled back from two laps down to pass race leader Jared Fryar on the final restart and led the rest of the way to score his first career Pro All Stars Series (PASS) South Super Late Model win in the Dogwood 125 Saturday night at Caraway Speedway.  Craig's win allowed him to close in to within two points of PASS South points leader Kodie Conner, who finished third.

"I was running third about 20 laps into the race and I felt the pedal go to the floor, and I thought, dang there goes another one," said Craig, driver of the family-owned C&C Boilers Sales & Services #54.  "I just drove my tail off after that.  They told me to save my stuff and wait for a caution, I didn't listen to them.  I think I'm pretty good at restarts and we got one there at the end and were able to hold on for the win."

            In qualifying, 2014 North-South Shootout winner, Ryan Moore toured the .455 mile speedway at a fast lap of 99.550 miles per hour to claim the quick qualifying time. However, Moore would slot into the ninth starting position after the top 10 qualifiers redraw, while defending race winner Jared Fryar and Brandon Lynn would move to the front row.

            At the drop of the green flag, Lynn would take the lead from the outside pole over Fryar and Craig.  Moore wasted little time moving to the front taking fifth position from Trey Jarrell on lap 10.  The first caution of the night waved on lap 35 when Craig lost power down the backstretch and slowed to a stop due to a broken throttle linkage.  Craig would lose two laps while his crew made repairs to his Chevrolet.

            On the restart, Jody Measamer was able to get by Lynn to take the lead on lap 36.  The next caution would not wave again until lap 76 when Kyle McCallum went for a spin exiting turn two.  On the next restart, Lynn would overtake Measamer to regain the lead, while Fryar would move by to take second.  Just one lap later, Fryar moved by Lynn to take his turn back up front. 

            With 27 laps to go, Michael Pilla spun exiting turn four to bring out a caution that would allow Craig to get back on the lead lap.  Racing over the final circuits would be intense as Moore began to challenge Lynn for second.  The two cars would make contact exiting turn four with 14 laps to go, and then again entering turn one, sending Moore's car around and into the outside wall.

            The biggest benefactor of this hard racing would be Craig, who would start alongside Fryar for the restart.  Craig got the advantage over Fryar on the final restart and would lead the rest of the way for his first career PASS South Super Late Model victory.  Fryar finished right behind him in second, with Kodie Conner third, Measamer in fourth, and Lynn in fifth.  Rounding out the top ten were Jarrell, Vinnie Miller, McCallum, Kyle Desouza, and Jimmy Doyle.

The PASS South Super Late Models will be in action once again for 125 laps on Saturday, May 27th at Concord Speedway, along with a 125 lapper for the Southern Modified Racing Series and action for the Mid-Atlantic Limited Late Models and Street Stocks.  Be sure to "Like" the Pro All Stars Series on Facebook or follow us on Twitter at @PASSSLM14.

RAPHAËL LESSARD SIGNE UNE DEUXIÈME PLACE EN CAROLINE DU NORD! 

Le jeune prodigue de la course automobile Raphaël Lessard a offert tout un spectacle au 

Orange County Speedway en CARS Super Late Model Tour.

 

ROUGEMONT, Caroline du Nord, 16 avril 2016 – Raphaël Lessard, le jeune pilote de Saint-Joseph-de-Beauce vient tout juste de signer la deuxième place lors du Orange Blossom 300 presented by the Grilling Store qui compte pour sa deuxième épreuve de la saison en CARS Super Late Model Tour. 

 

Terminant deuxième lors d'une course spectaculaire, le pilote de la voiture #99 FRL Express/Toyota/JBLAudio de l'équipe David Gilliland Racing en a impressionné plus d'un dans l'assistance en remontant de la 7e position à la deuxième. C'est au terme de plusieurs batailles en piste avec le peloton des meneurs, que Lessard a pu se faufiler en 2e place et même flirter avec la 1re . Le pilote Christopher Bell a tenu son bout tant bien que mal contre Lessard qui lui faisait pression à chaque virage. 

 

Raphaël Lessard, 14 ans, n'aura pas eu froid aux yeux lors de cette course haute en drapeaux jaunes. Dès les premiers tours, il s'est assuré de se placer dans le peloton des meneurs. Reculant de la 7e place à la 9e, il est rapidement remonté en 6eposition, d'où il a effectué de très beaux dépassements. 

 

Les drapeaux jaunes de la mi-course n'ont pas été les alliés de Lessard, qui se battait dans le peloton de tête. C'est lors des 50 derniers tours que Raphaël a dévoilé son réel talent de pilote d'ovale. Ne se laissant pas intimider par Christopher Bell et Dalton Sargeant, deux pilotes de renommée nationale aux États-Unis, étant dans le programme de développement de pilote de Toyota, Lessard a piloté de façon intelligente et constante, ayant dans la mire la première place dans les 5 derniers tours.

 

« Lors des relances après les drapeaux jaunes, je partais des fois à l'intérieur, des fois à l'extérieur, et parfois je perdais des positions, car à cette piste-là, la ligne de course à l'intérieur est moins vite que celle à l'extérieur. Lorsque je perdais des positions, c'était dur de remonter. La voiture s'est bien comportée tout au long de la course, mon chef d'équipe me guidait pour conserver les pneus et la voiture. L'équipe a fait du très bon boulot ce week-end » explique Lessard. 

 

Même le commentateur de l'événement le disait ; c'est l'une des meilleures fins de course jamais vue en CARS Super Late Model Tour. Bell, Lessard et Sargeant ont offert tout un spectacle, avec des dépassements à couper le souffle et des accrochages mineurs, les spectateurs ont assisté à une fin de course digne d'une de Coupe NASCAR Sprint. « Les pilotes en piste sont tous très bons et ont déjà beaucoup d'expérience. À la fin je sais que j'étais plus vite que Christopher Bell, donc j'essayais de le dépasser, mais ça ne marchait pas, car il me fermait la porte. Au final, je ne voulais pas pousser plus fort pour ne pas risquer de me réaccrocher avec lui. Mon objectif à la prochaine course sera très certainement un autre Top 5! » dit Raphaël. 

 

La prochaine course de Raphaël dans la série CARS Tour aura lieu le samedi 7 mai prochain au Hickory Motor Speedway de Newton, Caroline du Nord.

Un jeune pilote automobile de 14 ans derrière le volant en fin de semaine


Fort d'une 3e position lors de la dernière course de la série CARS au Southern National Motorsport Park en Caroline du Nord, le pilote de Saint-Joseph-de-Beauce reprend la direction de la Caroline du Nord une fois de plus cette semaine, cette fois vers Rougemont et le Orange County Fair Speedway.

 

Raphaël participera à la deuxième course d'une série de dix du championnat CARS SUPER LATE MODEL TOUR au volant de la #99 FRL Express/Toyota/JBLAudio de l'équipe David Gilliland Racing ce samedi 16 avril au Orange County Fair Speedway en Caroline du Nord.

 

En préparation pour cette course, il sera en piste le jeudi 14 avril pour une journée d'essais privés, avant d'entreprendre sur ce même circuit les essais libres prévus le vendredi 15 avril. La course SUPER LATE MODEL est prévue pour 21 h 30 approximativement le samedi 16 avril, suite à la course Late Model Stock.

 

Le circuit de Orange County Fair Speedway est d'une longueur de 3/8 de mille avec des inclinaisons de 19 degrés dans les courbes et de 16 degrés sur les lignes droites. Le circuit porte le sobriquet ''The Fastest 3/8 Race Track in America''.

NAPLES, ME (April 14) – New England race fans will be treated to a twin bill of feature racing action this weekend at Oxford Plains Speedway when the region's top stock car sanctions hit the track.  The Pro All Stars Series (PASS) North Super Late Models will make their first stop of the season in Maine in the Speedway Homes 150, while the American-Canadian Tour (ACT) Late Models will compete for the first time this year in the Dave's Small Engine Repair/Husqvarna 100.

Defending PASS North Super Late Model champion, Mike Rowe, has seen success in both divisions, but will once again focus his efforts in 2016 on the PASS North title.  Last year, in what turned out to be a single season effort with the Petit Motorsports team, Rowe turned a three-win season into his first PASS North championship after 15 years of competing in the series.

"We've finished second, third, fourth numerous times in the championship all over the years and we came to Hickory last spring and finished third and it looked real promising right from the start," said Rowe.  "To come out and win the championship last year was just great.  You know Ben [Rowe] and Johnny Clark were real stout a few years ago and to come out and beat those guys was just awesome."

Last season started out quickly for Rowe with a win in the Speedway Homes 150 at Oxford Plains Speedway.  Now with the Richard Moody Racing team as a teammate to his son, 4-time PASS North Super Late Model champion, Ben Rowe, the former 3-time HP Hood Oxford 250 winner hopes to turn his season around.  After a mechanical problem in the team's first race together at Hickory Motor Speedway, they were sidelined early due to a crash in the PASS North opener at Thompson Speedway.  With his past success there, Oxford Plains could be just what the doctor ordered for Mike Rowe to get his season back on the right track.

"I think the young kids today want to go out and win it on the first lap and me ,being a little older, I just sit back there and let them use their stuff up," says Rowe.  "I believe I can do that this weekend and we'll see what happens at the end."

The field will be stacked with champions for Sunday afternoon's Speedway Homes 150, including former HP Hood Oxford 250 winners, Travis Benjamin and Glen Luce, along with former PASS champions, Johnny Clark, Joey Doiron, and DJ Shaw, and Thompson winner, Garrett Hall.  Currently, over 30 drivers are entered with more expected this weekend.

All the action gets under way on Saturday at Oxford Plains Speedway with open practice for all competing divisions from 11 AM – 4 PM.  On Sunday, practice will begin at 9:30 AM with racing slated to begin at 2 PM for the PASS North Super Late Models, ACT Late Models, PASS Modifieds, and Legends.

Waterbury, VT – The opening race of 2016 racing season will have several young guns looking to make a good first impression competing against the top Late Model drivers in the Northeast.

 

 The American-Canadian Tour (ACT) and Pro All Stars Series (PASS) head to Maine's Oxford Plains Speedway Sunday, April 17 for the first ACT/PASS doubleheader of the 2016 season, featuring 100 laps for the ACT Late Models and 150 laps for the PASS North Super Late Models. The event is the 67th season opener for the historic 3/8-mile speedway.

 

Vermont's Emily Packard, Brandon Atkins of New York and New Hampshire's Kyle Welch and Ryan Olsen look to be contenders at several tracks this year wheeling late models on the American Canadian Tour. The 21-year-old and under group has had various success the last two racing seasons and all look to carry the ACT checkered flag in 2016.

 

Packard, who finished fourth in points in 2015, is the only one of the four drivers that will not run the entire ACT schedule. The 19 year-old full time college student will run nine ACT events and is excited to start the season at Oxford. "We had some really good runs there and I really enjoy racing there"said Packard. "Last year was my first time there, so it was unknown as to how we would run. We had a great race, coming from 20th to 4th, and pressuring 3rd place at the end." Packard should be considered as one of the favoriteson Sunday as 2014 ACT Champion Joey Polewarczyk Jr. has signed on to work on the car and help the team. Joey "Pole" took home the checkers at both Oxford events last season.

 

Atkins, of Au Sable Forks, NY, finished fifth in ACT Late Model points in 2015 and is looking to visit victory lane for the first time in 2016. The SUNY Plattsburgh student finished 11th at the opening event last year after starting 21st and is looking forward to running the entire ACT schedule. "I think the Fall Foliage 200 at Airborne was the highlight for me" said Atkins referring to the 2015 season. "After replacing most of the front end following the heat and starting in the back, coming home fifth meant a lot to the team. It helped lead to another fifth at Thompson to finish the season".

 

The 21 year-old Welch already has a victory, winning at Speedway 51 in 2014, but is looking to improve a hard luck 2015 season, finishing eighth in points. "Our speed every week was something I was really proud of" explained Welch. "We had a lot of bad luck in 2015 but in racing you're going to have years like that". With a full season entry and a little bit of good luck, don't be surprised to see Welch visit victory lane again in 2016.

 

North Haverill, NH will once again be yielding a young racer looking to make his mark in the Northeast as Ryan Olsen competes full time in ACT. The 19 year old, driving for Joey Pole Racing, is the son of former two-time NASCAR North Champion Mike Olsen and great-grandson of the beloved New England Racers Hall of Famer, the late Stub Fadden. Olsen, who ran the ACT Invitational at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in 2015, will have a ton of racing knowledge at his beckon call as he runs for the 2016 ACT Rookie of the Year.

 

Post time for the Oxford 100 and the first ACT/PASS doubleheader of 2016 is 2:00pm on Sunday, April 17. The pits open at 7:30pmwith the main grandstands at 9:30am. Admission is $30 for adults and $15 for juniors ages 6-12.

De nouveaux pilotes de qualité pour la Série Sportsman Qc

De nouveaux pilotes de qualité pour la Série Sportsman Qc 









Pour son 10e anniversaire, les Sportsman Qc Lucas Oil c'était promis une saison mémorable. Premièrement, avec un double championnat ajoutant ainsi 5000$ au fond de points du championnat régional Habitation Dany Lagacé et ensuite avec plusieurs bonis de course dépassant 5000$pour remercier ses pilotes de leur fidélité et de la confiance accordée envers la série et ses officiels. 

La réponse des pilotes est plus qu'espérée et il nous fait plaisir de vous annoncer que ce n'est pas terminé. D'abord, nous avons appris, par sa présence au Salon de l'Auto Sport de Qc, que le #32 Jean Duchesneau de Québec sera de retour dans sa voiture aux couleurs de sa nouvelle entreprise Dutch Bull.

De plus, l'équipe Blanchet Racing Team a fait l'acquisition de la voiture de Richard Livernois. Avec le #79, deux pilotes se partageront la conduite soit Jimmy Roy de Victoriaville et René Blanchet de Lévis. Le talentueux pilote de Victoriaville a terminé au second rang du championnat Procam Super Truck l'an dernier. Outre dans la série Procam Super Truck, le pilote s'est aussi démarqué dans la classe Sport Compact Élite. Quant à René Blanchet, il s'est illustré dans la série Prolab dans le début des années 2000. 

Ensuite, ayant fait l'acquisition de la voiture de Johnny Gagné, nous pourrons voir lors des programmes de la Série Sportsman Qc, un pilote expérimenté c'est-à-dire Christian Roussin d'Ancienne Lorette. Bien connu dans le monde du stock-car, Roussin qui roulera à bord de la voiture #65, saura lui aussi rehausser la qualité de pilotes en piste pour la saison 2016. 

Avec ces 3 annonces, la Série Sportsman Qc Lucas Oil établit un record d'inscription avant saison avec 40 inscrits présentement. Quelques autres pourraient s'ajouter au groupe avant le début de la saison. 

Ayant annoncé plus tôt le retour de Marc Bégin, nous pouvons vous confirmer qu'il portera le #18 pour la saison 2016. 

Les Mini Sportsman en pleine évolution 

À chaque présence des Mini Sportsman au Salon de l'Auto Sport de Qc, la popularité de ces voitures ne fait aucun doute. Quelques pilotes ont gradué dans les classes régionales pour la prochaine saison rendant quelques voitures disponibles. Le pilote #37 Dany Gariepy a fait l'acquisition d'une d'entre elles qui sera pilotée par son fils, William Gariepy. Aux mêmes couleurs que son père, le pilote âgé de 10 ans qui jusqu'ici évoluait en motocross fera ses premiers tours avec la série Mini Sportsman le 14 mai prochain. 

Aussi, nous pourrons voir en piste le # 77 Cédrik Grenier de Lac Mégantic qui a fait l'acquisition à l'automne dernier de la voiture #70 de Mylane Boutet. 

C'est un réel plaisir d'accueillir ses pilotes qui viendront encore une fois ajouter à la qualité de pilotes déjà présents.

La course se déroulera le dimanche 14 août 2016, et portera le nom Les 50 Tours Can-Am. « Au Québec, peu de noms rivalisent avec celui du Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières quand on pense passion, adrénaline et sports mécaniques, relate Dominic Fugère, directeur général du GP3R. Jeffrey Earnhardt coursera à Trois-Rivières 

 

L'équipe de Go FAS Racing Canada aura deux pilotes sur le circuit du Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières portant les couleurs de Can-Am, soient le jaune et le noir. Alex Labbé, champion de la série ACT en 2014 et l'un des grands espoirs du circuit NASCAR canadien, et Jeffrey Earnhardt, pilote NASCAR en série Coupe Sprint, représenteront la marque Can-Am au GP3R. 

 

« La réputation du Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières n'est plus à faire comme endroit où les pilotes peaufinent leur coup de volant en circuit routier, dit Jeffrey Earnhardt. Jeffrey Earnhardt to race in Trois-Rivières 

 

Go FAS Racing Canada team will have two drivers on the track sporting Can-Am's yellow and black colours at the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières. 2014 ACT champion driver Alex Labbé, one of the rising stars of the Canadian NASCAR circuit and NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Jeffrey Earnhardt will both be representing the Can-Am brand at GP3R. 

 

"The reputation of the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières is well established as a place where drivers can hone their road course driving skills," mentioned Jeffrey Earnhardt. Alexander debuts new super late model team Sunday


Ellsworth ME (4/12/2016) There are changes in the wind for 16 year-old Super Late Model racer Wyatt Alexander, and he's hoping that those changes will give him a leg up when he takes his first green of the 2016 season at Oxford Plains Speedway April 17th.



For the first time in his racing career Alexander will spend much of his time competing in something other than a family owned race car. The Alexander family teamed up with Dan Colby Racing in the off season, and Colby has spent the winter updating his chassis with the latest innovations from Dale Shaw Race Cars and a new Arbodies skin. The new combination looks to Oxford with high hopes and realistic expectations.


"Naturally we can't wait to get the season started, " says Alexander." Dan has been working hard to get his car prepared for Oxford; it's a beauty, and I can't wait to log some laps. We will approach Oxford, and all of our season for that matter, with realistic goals. We'll be at Oxford for most of the PASS races leading up to the H.P. Hood Oxford 250; that race has a star next to it on our schedule, and we will be putting extra effort into fine tuning our package for that one."


The new team has an ambitious schedule planned, with an emphasis on both the PASS and Granite State Pro Stock Series schedules. Wiscasset weekly shows, the Boss Hogg 100 and Seekonk's big midweek Pro Stock open are all on the list. If the season goes as planned a fall PASS South race will be added to the schedule. It's a ton of racing, but the blending of the two race teams gives Alexander two well prepared race cars and a talented team backing him up. It's an edge that should come into play as the season progresses.


" Our schedule will probably not allow us to race for points or any rookie titles but our goal is to race at as many new tracks as possible. I have less than twenty features in a super late model and most of them were 40 laps or less. We spent the majority of 2015 focusing on the weekly series at Wiscasset," says Alexander." I finished fourth in the points, earned Rookie of the Year in our class and won the Boss Hogg 100. Wiscasset is a great place to race but it takes track time at all the region's speedways to progress in these cars and often more than one trip to a new track for a driver to get comfortable and the race car dialed in just right. So, we will venture out from our home track with the goal of getting to know some new speedways and learn what it takes to be around at the finish of these 100 and 150 lap features. I'm confident in my team and my equipment. My family will still be 100% involved. I wouldn't have it any other way. Dan brings a ton of experience and knowledge to the team, and the added plus of knowing what it takes to get around several of the tracks we've never visited. I know there will be some bumps in the road along the way, but I fully expect to have nights when we will be in the mix for the win, too."


Alexander may have just received his drivers' license but he's a twelve year veteran behind the wheel of a race car. His experience should serve him well as he climbs the super late model ladder. The season gets underway this weekend at Oxford Plains Speedway, a Pro All Stars/American-Canadian Tour doubleheader set to take the green at 2:00 PM. Horsepower On Display This Weekend In PASS/Modified Doubleheader At Caraway

CHARLOTTE, NC (April 12) – Southeast race fans will get a rare treat this weekend at Caraway Speedway when the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) South Super Late Models and NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour compete together in a rare doubleheader.  The Dogwood 325 will see the two most powerful asphalt series in the South compete together for the first time ever on Saturday night at Caraway, along with the Mid-Atlantic Limited Late Models, Chargers, Mini Stocks, and Hornets.

Sanford, NC's Jody Measamer is a driver that knows Caraway Speedway well.  Measamer grew up helping on the crew of legendary short tracker racer, Tom Usry, at Caraway and other tracks throughout the Carolinas.  Eventually, Measamer took his place behind the wheel and Caraway Speedway has been very good to him throughout his racing career.  Measamer won his first 4-Cylinder Modified race at Caraway and then went on to score his first Late Model Supertruck win there before going on to capture the track championship.

"Caraway is one of the toughest tracks on the tour, it is a very technical track where you must hit your marks each and every lap," says Measamer, driver of the Aquavapor Electronic Cigarettes/Solid Rock Carriers #98 Chevrolet.  "It is a challenge to get the car to respond at both ends of the track.  Turns 1 and 2 are totally different than 3 and 4.  Based on previous PASS South Races at Caraway, first and foremost, you have to keep the fenders on it and all 4 tires heading in the same direction.  You also have to keep from using your tires too early so you have something left to go with at the end."

Measamer came to Caraway Speedway last year with high expectations too, but was involved in an incident on lap one that saw him get into the wall.  Despite heavy damage, Measamer's crew worked on the car through multiple pit stops and the team soldiered home to a third place finish.  This year, Measamer battled hard at Dillon with eventual race winner Brandon Setzer and set a new Super Late Model track record at Hickory for the prestigious Easter Bunny 150.  Needless to say, hopes are high this weekend as Measamer seeks his first career PASS South Super Late Model victory.

"Honestly there is not just one single item, but a combination of several little things I believe that has helped with our start this year," says Measamer.  "We struggled at the end of 2015 for speed and were just not happy with the car.  During the off season we completely rebuilt the car, but the frustrating part is we didn't really find anything wrong that would explain what was going on.  We unloaded at Dillon pretty good and hit on a few things with shocks and bumpstops that's made it even better which we were able to show at Hickory.  I feel like we have a good piece going in to Caraway and hope we can finally break in to victory lane."

While Measamer will be seeking victory, rookie Kodie Conner and second year driver Matt Craig are embroiled in a fierce fight for the points lead which has them separated by only six points.  As a matter of fact, the top eight drivers in points are only 100 points, including New England driver Kyle Desouza and Ontario's JP Josiasse.  Last year's winner Jared Fryar is entered, along with former North-South Shootout winner, Ryan Moore, and Caraway frontrunner Trey Jarrell, who has increased support from sponsor Kaytech, Inc.  Veteran Jimmy Doyle and second year racer Kyle McCallum have also filed pre-entries for Saturday's Dogwood 325.

All the action gets under way on Friday at Caraway Speedway with open practice for all competing divisions from 3 – 6 PM.  On Saturday, practice will begin at 1 PM with qualifying starting at 5 PM for the PASS South Super Late Models, Mid-Atlantic Limited Late Models and NASCAR Whelen Southern Modifieds, followed by main events starting at approximately 6:30 PM.
