Payea in Right Place at Right Time for Propane Plus 150 Win

Seekonk, MA – Scott Payea was the last man standing on a wild night at Massachusetts' Seekonk Speedway on Saturday, July 16, taking the lead with three laps to go en route to his second American-Canadian Tour (ACT) win of the season in the Propane Plus 150.

Colchester, VT's Payea had run a distant second to Brad Babb for much of the second half of the event, but the 12^th caution of the night for ACT Late Model Tour point leader Nick Sweet's spin on lap 141 set up a showdown between Babb, Payea, Eddie MacDonald, and Dillon Moltz. After Babb got off to a strong restart, Payea began inching back up on the outside as the laps wound down.

As Payea drew even with three laps remaining, MacDonald – who started last after arriving from Loudon's New Hampshire Motor Speedway shortly before the green flag – dove three-wide on the backstretch, and contact entering turn three allowed Payea to leap out to the top spot. MacDonald and Babb continued bumping and eventually ended up in the turn two wall to bring out the red flag with two laps to go. Payea then held off Moltz on the race's final restart for the victory.

Tiverton, RI's Ray Parent led the first 18 laps from the pole before Babb assumed the point for the first time. Joey Polewarczyk, Jr. followed Babb to the front, and the two engaged in a thrilling duel in the race's middle stages, swapping the lead multiple times and running side-by-side for extended periods following numerous cautions, including a red flag for Dylan Estrella's hard impact with the turn four wall on lap 47.

Babb finally gained control following a lap-79 caution, as Polewarczyk subsequently began to fade on the race's longest green-flag run. As Babb slowly drew away from the field, Payea, MacDonald, and Moltz put on their own battle for second, with MacDonald coming up on the outside of Payea when Sweet spun to set up the dramatic finish.

Moltz earned a season-best second-place finish, while Polewarczyk rebounded to finish third. Defending ACT Champion Wayne Helliwell, Jr. drove from the 19^th starting position up to fourth, and local youngster Nicholas Johnson completed the top-five. Parent, Ryan Vanasse, Sweet, Bobby Therrien, and Mike Ziter rounded out the top-10.

William Wall, Vanasse, and Babb earned heat race wins. Rookie Devin O'Connell and Polewarczyk captured the consolation events.

The ACT Late Model Tour and Pro All Stars Series (PASS) head to N. Woodstock, NH's White Mountain Motorsports Park this Saturday, July 23 for their second doubleheader of the season. The "Showdown in the Mountains" features twin 150-lap events for both series along with White Mountain's regular weekly divisions. Post time is 5:00pm.

Terry Wins 100-Lap Renegade Special

Plattsburgh- The Jeffords Steel Renegades had the spotlight this past Saturday nightas they ran their longest distance race of the season, 100 laps. In addition, the Ernie's Discount Tools Sportsman Modifieds and Bush Beer Mini Mods ran twin features.

The 100 lap Renegade feature was broken up into two 50 lap stanzas. At lap 50, a competition yellow would be thrown to allow teams to refuel there cars and make minimal adjustments to their cars.

Essex, NY driver, Josh Terry, picked up the checkerd flag in the 100 lap event, holding off Shawn Duquette on a lap-96 restart. Terry had been choosing the outside groove on previous restarts with Duquette along side, but on the final restart Terry elected to restart on the inside and he drove his way to victory.

"The car was a little tight earlier in the second stanza so I needed to take the top on restarts, but it got better as the race went on," Terry said. "The car was so good at the final restart that the bottom was the best place to put the car for the restart."

Duquette was able to hold onto second despite losing the brakes in the car around lap-80. Jason McClatchie, Michael Wright and Brent Jarvis completed the unofficial top-5.

A green to checkered finish in the first Sportsman Modified feature helped Codie Aubin pull out to a sizeable lead and break his streak of bad luck, as Aubin picked up his first win of 2016.

"I can't thank my crew enough for the hard work they put in," Aubin said.

Jamy Begor, Bucko Branham, Danny Sullivan and Timex Morgan completed the unofficial top-5.

The second Sportsman Modified feature also ran green to checkered with Rico Hernandez leading the first 21 laps of the 25 lap feature. Begor showed great patience as he rode behind the Hernandez car for the better part of seven laps and was forced to pull the trigger when Sullivan pulled underneath Begor to vie for the second spot. Hernandez, in the lead, left a hole open down low for Sullivan to try and fill while Begor was rim riding, three-wide atop turns three and four. Begor worked around both cars and checked out in the final four laps.

"My crew has been after me about sticking the car to the outside and going to the front," Begor said. "I can't thank my fine sponsors enough for the support they provide, it especially feels good to win on one of my sponsors nights (Jeffords Steel)."

Sullivan, Nick Heywood, Branham and Hernandez completed the unofficial top-5.

Dale O'Neil's winning streak was snapped in the Mini Mod division, as Pete Blaney was able to work the inside past Josh LaPorte was the race winning pass. O'Neil, LaPorte, Tim LaFountain and Tyler Irwin completed the unofficial top-5.

O'Neil got back on track, scoring his seventh win of the second in feature two. LaPorte, Blaney, Irwin and LaFountain completed the unofficial top-5.

Racing action comes to a halt for next week as we are off for the week of the Clinton County Fair. Stop by the Airborne Park Speedway booth and see us for an opportunity to win prizes and check out a couple cars. Racing action will resume at the speedway on July 30 for the Limited Late Model Canadian Invasion.

Peterborough Speedway's Hot Summer Schedule Gets Back on Track

A week off – caused by an interruption due to Mother Nature – didn't deter fans at Canada's Toughest 3^rd of a Mile Paved Oval. A strong crowd was on hand as the APC Pro Late Model tour joined the home track Battlefield Equipment Rental 4Fun, Trent Lakes Complete Plumbing Renegade Truck and Paul Davis Systems Thunder Car divisions – Saturday, July 16^th – at Peterborough Speedway.

The night's feature events got rolling with a 20 lapper for the Paul Davis Systems Thunder Cars, with Tom Podd and Steve Mayhew on the front row. Kyle Donaldson – steering Howie Crowe's #28 – used the outside line at the drop of the green flag and was leading the pack by the time the lap counter showed 4 circuits complete. As the leader caught the tail-end of the field just past halfway, there were intense fights for position throughout the running order but no one had anything for Donaldson in the caution-free event. Nick Oram took the runner-up spot, with Bailey Jacobs – the day after his 19^thbirthday – in 3^rd. James Townsend and Rob Richards completed the top 5.

Stephen Bierworth and Chris Burrage brought the Trent Lakes Complete Plumbing Renegade Truck field to the Great Canadian RV green flag to kick-off their 15 lap 'A' main. Burrage took control, but a quick yellow flag slowed the pace with a single lap on the scoreboard. On the restart, Burrage – the current point leader – had defending track champion Jack Dallin on his tailgate, but he held-off the attack over the closing stages. Jordan Dallin, Stacy Bierworth and her father Stephen rounded-out the fast 5 finishers.

With 20 laps on the agenda, former Autumn Colours Classic Champion Griffin Powell and Jeremy Kelly paced the Battlefield Equipment Rental 4Fun squad from the staging area for their feature tilt. 2015 track champ Ryan Oosterholt took second from Kelly as the field scored the 6^th circuit and just a lap later, Powell caught the backmarkers and began lapping the slower cars. The race's only yellow flag flew before the pack had crossed the line again and on the ensuing restart, Oosterholt took over the top position. Powell chased the #79 machine across the stripe, with Kelly, Sean Kennedy and Matthew Vanderbelt finishing the top 5 in the run-down.

In the tour's 5^th event of the season, Shawn Chenoweth continued his Peterborough Speedway dominance, taking his 3^rd straight win at the tight, tricky bullring on Mount Pleasant Road, west of the Liftlock City. Billy Schwartzenburg, Andrew Gressel, Jamie Cox and Josh Stade completed the top 5. Full details on the APC Pro Late Model event can be found on the series web-site,www.apcracingseries.com.

Earlier in the evening, Nick Oram and Kyle Donaldson each won a pair of Paul Davis Systems Thunder Car heat races, with current point leader Chris Burrage and Stephen Bierworth taking the Trent Lakes Complete Plumbing Renegade Truck qualifiers. Ryan Oosterholt, Kent Missons, Carson Hennessey and Shawn Solomon went to victory lane following the Battlefield Equipment Rental 4Fun preliminary rounds.

Bullring Bullet Points: The 50/50 draw paid almost $950 to Randy Mackin of Lindsay…James Townsend made his first start in a Thunder Car ride that the team acquired from the Luc Gignac team…Michael Shumilak made the 8-hour tow from Timmins, Ontario and finished 10^th in the Thunder Car feature. It was the first time the driver had run an event without suffering a mechanical issue.

Action at Canada's Toughest 3^rd of a Mile Paved Oval continues Saturday, July 23^rd when Country 105 presents the Mid-Summer Bash. On track will feature the Jiffy Lube Mini Stocks, Trent Lakes Complete Plumbing Renegade Trucks, Paul Davis Systems Thunder Cars, Earl Ireland Auto Sales Late Models and Ontario Modifieds Racing Series. Pit gates open at 3:00, with the spectator grandstands unlocked at 5:00and qualifying heats beginning at 6:00.

Edges Ranger in Close Finish to Win Pinty's Grand Prix of Toronto

TORONTO, Ontario – Alex Tagliani knew holding off Andrew Ranger on a green-white-checkered finish was going to be tough in the closing laps of the Pinty's Grand Prix of Toronto – and the veteran was correct.

Tagliani edged Ranger by just .184 seconds to score the closest win in the history of the race held at Honda Indy Toronto. It was the second win of the season for Tagliani and fourth overall in his career.

Kevin Lacroix followed in third with L.P. Dumoulin and Kerry Micks rounding out the top five.

Ranger started from the E3 Spark Plugs pole and led the field to green before Daniel Morad dove to the inside pushing Ranger and Tagliani almost into the Turn 1 outside wall to take the lead.

Lacroix took advantage of the contact and quickly passed Morad in Turn 3 and remained out front for the first eight laps of the race until Ranger took the lead on Lap 9.

Morad, who was a last-minute replacement for Carlos de Quesada who was unable to compete due to health reasons, qualified third and led five laps.

NASCAR Next driver Gary Klutt finished sixth with Morad, Cayden Lapcevich, Peter Klutt and J.F. Dumoulin completing the top-10.

The race was slowed by just two cautions with Patrick Dussault getting knocked into the wall on Lap 30 to bring out the final caution of the day and set up the two-lap dash to the finish.

Ranger remains the points leader and now holds a 13-point margin over Lapcevich in the standings. Alex Labbe is third.

The Pinty's Grand Prix of Toronto will be broadcast on TSN on July 23 at 2:30 p.m. ET and Aug. 5 on RDS at 10 p.m.

The NASCAR Pinty's Series will now head west for its annual doubleheader over a span of five days.

Edmonton International Raceway will host the Edmonton Has New Energy 300 on Saturday, July 23while Wyant Group Raceway in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan will host the Saskatoon 250 on Wednesday, July 27.

This marks the K&N Pro Series East's only visit to New Hampshire Motor Speedway in 2016. Once again, the race is a companion event to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series New England 300.
Justin Haley, who picked up his second win of the season in the most recent race at Columbus Motor Speedway, holds a 40-point lead atop the series standings over Noah Gragson.

At New Hampshire Motor Speedway:
History:
• The track opened in 1990 on the site of the old Briar Motorsports Park road course and immediately became New England's largest sports facility of any kind. Measuring 1.058 miles in length, it is the largest speedway in the region, and with seating for nearly 100,00 people, it has the largest capacity of any venue.
• Tommy Ellis won the first NASCAR-sanctioned race held at New Hampshire, winning a 300-lap combination event involving both the NASCAR Xfinity Series and NASCAR K&N Pro Series East.
• NHMS has hosted 69 previous NASCAR K&N Pro Series East events. The track plays host to two NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races each season.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (July 13, 2016) – The 2016 NASCAR Pinty's Series returns for the first time since 2011 to Honda Indy Toronto for the Pinty's Grand Prix of Toronto. Below is a statistical look at the performance of the series at the road course and selected drivers:

Pinty's Grand Prix of Toronto Setup:
• This is the series' third visit to the track.
• Andrew Ranger has been victorious in both previous NASCAR-sanctioned events at the course. Ranger won the pole and led every lap in his win in 2010.
• Josten's Rookie of the Year contender Cayden Lapcevich enters this event for the first time in second-place in the standings and has already recorded a pair of runner-up finishes this season.

At Honda Indy Toronto:
History
• This will be the 30th event at Honda Indy Toronto. IndyCar will be competing on Sunday with the NPS racing on Saturday afternoon.
• D.J. Kennington and Jason Hathaway enter this event as the only drivers to compete in every NPS event held in the history of the series. Kennington has finished in the top five in both previous events.
• The event weekend was originally known as the Molson Toronto Indy, the event dates back to 1986 at the site formerly known as Exhibition Place.

Notebook
• Andrew Ranger has won two races this season and enters as the points leader for the NPS entering Toronto.
• Ranger has led 62 of the 73 laps ran in competition in the previous two events at the track.

• Has two wins, four top-five and five top-10 finishes in 10 career starts.
• Recorded two wins in seven starts during his debut season in 2015. Won road races at Circuit ICAR and Circuit de Trois-Rivieres.
• Is the first driver in series history to record two victories in rookie season.
• Became the first driver in the history of the series to win a caution-free race last season at ICAR in his first start at the track.
• This will be his first start on the Toronto road course.

Cayden Lapcevich (No. 76 Fastline Motorsports Dodge)
• Has made 10 career starts in the NASCAR Pinty's Series and recorded his career-best second-place finish twice this season Sunset Speedway on June 18th and Chaudiere on June 24th.
• Enters this weekend second in the points standings behind Andrew Ranger (168-162). He'll make his debut at Toronto on Saturday.

Kerry Micks (No. 02 Leland/Johnsonville Ford)
• Has made 88 NPS starts with three wins, four poles, 30 top-five and 54 top-10 finishes.
• Is one of three drivers to finish in the top five in both previous Toronto events. Finished fourth in 2011 and fifth in 2010 on the road course.

Andrew Ranger (No. 27 Mopar/Pennzoil Dodge)
• The 2007 and 2009 NPS champion and after his wins this season at CTMP and most recently at ICAR, holds the record for all-time wins with 22 and tied for first in poles (17). Has 51 top fives and 73 top 10s in 87 career starts.
• Has won both races at Toronto (2010, 2011) and has led 62 of the 73 laps of competition.
• Currently holds the series' record for consecutive wins at a track with three (ICAR, 2012-14; Trois-Rivieres, 2008-10) and can equal that mark Saturday if he wins in Toronto.

Alex Tagliani (No. 18 EpiPen/Riobel/Complexe JCP/Juste du Chevrolet)
• Has three wins, six poles and 12 top fives, 21 top 10s in 37 career NPS starts.

• The 2016 season is the first for new series sponsor Pinty's and the 10th overall for the Canadian-based NASCAR division.

• Quebec native Andrew Ranger took the lead on the penultimate lap of the season opening race at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park to score the win.
• Alex Tagliani made Quebec drivers two-for-two this season after he won the Leland Industries 300 at Sunset Speedway for his third career series victory.
• Alex Labbe won from the pole last weekend in an exciting finish with rookie Cayden Lapcevich. It was Labbe's first career win.
• Andrew Ranger retook the points lead and also became the first multi-race winner of the season with his third win at ICAR two weeks ago.
• The NPS will travel west for its annual visits to Edmonton (Alberta) International Raceway and Wyant Group Raceway in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan on Saturday July 23 and Wednesday, July 27, respectively.

Entry List Grows To Nearly 50 For 43^rd Annual HP Hood Oxford 250

NAPLES, ME (July 14) – Entries from every corner of the United States, as well as Canada, continue to make their way into the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) offices for the 43^rd Annual HP Hood Oxford 250. Annually, the best attended race for both fans and participants, the HP Hood Oxford 250 will take place on August 26-28 at the legendary Oxford Plains Speedway, paying $25,000 to the winner. With additional lap leader bonus money also on the line, this year's HP Hood Oxford 250 winner could potentially take home up to $50,000.

Several drivers have already punched their tickets to the prestigious race through the "Road To The Oxford 250" qualifying events, including this year's Easter Bunny 150 winner, Ben Rowe, and Wayne Helliwell, Jr., Scott Farrington, and Florida's Dalton Sargeant, each who advanced through a recent "non-winner's" race at Oxford Plains a couple of weeks ago.

Among those who have already entered are Pacific Northwest legend Garrett Evans, who will be attempting the Oxford 250 for the first time in his illustrious career, 6-time PASS North Super Late Model champion, Johnny Clark, the 2014 series champion and current points leader, DJ Shaw, 2-time PASS National Champion, Jay Fogleman, and his son, Tate, himself the defending PASS South Super Late Model champion, former champion Cassius Clark, and 2015 PASS National Champion, Joey Doiron.

3-Time HP Hood Oxford 250 winner, Mike Rowe, is joined on the entry list by fellow 250 winners, Travis Benjamin and Joey Polewarcyzk, and last year's surprise winner, Glen Luce. The state of Maine will be well represented by Reid Lanpher, David Oliver, Richie Dearborn, Alan Wilson, Dave Farrington, Jr., Mike Hopkins, Adam Polvinen, Scott Mulkern, Tim and TJ Brackett, Dennis Spencer, Jr., Wyatt Alexander, Scott Robbins, Jacob Dore, Garrett Hall, Shawn Martin, Gary Smith, Tracy Gordon, Larry Gelinas, Dan McKeague, Corey Bubar, Jeff Taylor, and veteran Kelly Moore.

New Hampshire natives Bryan Kruczek and Jeremy Davis will be hoping to return to victory lane in the biggest race of the year, along with fellow Granite State driver Derrick Griffith. Massachusetts' Derek Ramstrom is hoping his big race experience will pay off and will be joined by fellow New Englanders Travis Stearns, Kyle Desouza, Brent Dragon, and North Carolina transplants, Ben Lynch and John-Michael Shenette. Michael Scorzelli will make the trip from New York as well as New Brunswick's Matt Matheson, who will be looking for a win as he tries to take the trophy north of the border.
