Since its inception in 1959 they have remained committed to being a good corporate citizen and employer. For the past 10 years Erb Transport has held an internal pre-holiday season food and toy drive and most recently, in partnership with Piller's Fine Foods in Waterloo, sent a trailer full of non-perishable food items to Alberta Food Banks for Fort McMurray evacuees.

"Like a career in racing, life has its highs and lows.  My family, the 22 Racing crew, sponsors and their families and fans have supported me during the wins and through the challenging times." said Steckly "I've been truly blessed with the support I have around me. The Holiday Season can put an extra strain on families who may already be struggling. Together with Erb Transport we look forward to helping the 1 in 20 households that struggle to find their way from hunger to hope."

Within the Region of Waterloo – which includes Wilmot Township, 17% of those accessing food assistance are employed, 3% receive Employment Insurance, 30% receive Ontario Disability Support. 40% of households receiving food support are families with children.  Since 2008 there has been a 30% increase in emergency food hamper requests in Waterloo Region.

Starting on December 13th 2016 non-perishable food items can be dropped off in the lobby at three Erb Group locations:

Ontario Modifieds Series Hands Out the Hardware for its 2016 Season

Ontario Modifieds Series Hands Out the Hardware for its 2016 Season

By Jim Clarke, Clarke Motorsports Communications/First Draft Media

The Harmony Creek Golf Centre on the outskirts of Oshawa was the setting – Saturday, November 12th – as the drivers and teams of the Ontario Modifieds Racing Series – powered by Torque Builders Inc. – gathered to celebrate another successful season of exciting open wheeled action.

The evening got underway with Richard Warnes addressing the crowd and thanking OMRS backers – including long-time series title sponsor Torque Builders Inc, Borque Transmission and Complete Mechanical – for their support. Warnes – who along with Randy Hollingsworth and Bill Pickford make-up the popular tour's team of officials – reaffirmed the mandate of providing an affordable, competitive series for racers, by racers. To a round of applause by those in attendance, he also confirmed that talks were underway to return to Peterborough, Flamboro and Sunset Speedways in 2017.

Starting with Brad Stevenson and continuing through to season champion John Baker Jr., the top dozen point finishers for the year were brought forward to collect their accolades and point-fund payout. Individual awards were presented to Stu Robinson Jr., as the top first year runner in the division, while #46 ride – shared between Ryan Babin and Christopher Mulders – was named the most improved team. A special presentation was also made to Donna Brown, whose hard work behind the scenes and at the track keeps the series rolling throughout the year.

The Ontario Modifieds Racing Series has long considered itself as a development series for new racers and a few drivers from other divisions – including the 4Fun and Thunder Car classes at Peterborough Speedway and the go kart ranks – have made the transition to the popular open-wheeled machines over the years. For the 2017 campaign, several new teams are expected to compete in at least a limited role. At the award's banquet, Connor James – who ran a partial schedule this year – was welcomed to the fold, along with Isaac Belyea who will make the step from the Kawartha Kart Club. Each driver – along with a handful of others – participated in the annual 'Test a Mod' day at Peterborough Speedway and will likely compete for the 2017 Rookie of the Year award.

OMRS will host a series meeting in the coming weeks to discuss rules, technical changes and other events as they pertain to the 2017 schedule. A date, time and agenda will be announced on the series' Facebook group.

Fans can find full series details atwww.facebook.com/OMRS. The Ontario Modifieds Racing Series – powered by Torque Builders Inc. – is supported by Clarke Motorsports Communications.

Alex Labbé a Brilliant 23rd in NASCAR Xfinity Race in Phoenix

Press Release – For Immediate Release

Alex Labbé a Brilliant 23rd in NASCAR Xfinity Race in Phoenix

Phoenix (AZ), November 13, 2016 – Alex Labbé finished 23rd in his first NASCAR Xfinity race, at the Phoenix International raceway, aboard his GoFas Racing Can-AM/Kappa/Cyclop Gear/Équipement Larue Camaro. Alex had prepared extensively for his first start in the Xfinity Series, using his track simulator extensively to shorten his learning time on track, and it paid off.

Things worked out well, as Alex told us after the second practise session on Friday that he was comfortable with the racing line after only five or six laps. During the race, he managed to avoid two major incidents that would have ruined his race. King Autosport and Crew Chief Mario Gosselin had prepared a car that allowed Labbé to showcase his talent in no uncertain fashion.

After the second Friday session, Alex had told us that "I got the hang of the first corner pretty rapidly, but the last corner is much quicker and it took a few more laps to get quick enough to find some weaknesses in the car and work with Mario (Gosselin) to make the car better and quicker.

In the second Friday practice session, Alex got more comfortable in the car and started to push harder. He added that "The car was behaving really well towards the end of practice, so we decided to slap on four new tires and run some "qualifying" laps. I ended up 26th quickest on Friday, which made everyone on the team and all the partners who had made the trek down here very happy. I know that everyone will be quicker for (Saturday) qualifying, and we will analyze today's results to make our car quicker for qualifying."

The Xfinity Series qualifying rules do not allow teams to change settings on the car during the session. As Alex related, "The car was tight (Pushing or under steering) in qualifying, which cost me a few tenths of a second." This turned out to be a blessing as the settings turned to be just right for the cooler temperatures when the race started in the late afternoon.

Starting in 33rd position for the 200-lap race, Labbé had a miraculous avoidance on the first restart early in the race, then worked his way to 28th or 29th place, where he remained for the middle portion of the race. After another very close call when an incident blocked the track with 50 laps to go, Alex used the car's speed and other driver's ill luck to drive up to 23rdposition, where he finished, and without a mark on the car!

After the race, a calm and collected Labbé confirmed that "The car was good at the start so I could move up quickly. We had to correct some under steer during pit stops as the race went on, and ended up for the last run to the finish with the best combination of tires and settings. The car was quick and I managed to pass a few guys and end up 23rd at the flag. The car was great and it was fun to be racing with really good drivers. I want to thank everyone who made this possible, and can't wait for my next Xfinity race."

APHAËL LESSARD COURONNÉ CHAMPION 2016 DU CARS SUPER LATE MODEL TOUR

RAPHAËL LESSARD

/Toyota/JBLAudio

RAPHAËL LESSARD COURONNÉ CHAMPION 2016 DU

CARS SUPER LATE MODEL TOUR

NASCAR to Surpass 10 Million Miles on Sunoco Green E15

NASCAR to Surpass 10 Million Miles on Sunoco Green E15

American-Made Ethanol from American-Grown Corn Has Helped Fuel Sport Since 2011;

10 Million Miles Equivalent to 400 Laps Around the Earth

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (November 11, 2016– NASCAR announced today that it will surpass 10 million competition miles on Sunoco Green E15, a biofuel blended with 15 percent American-made ethanol, by the end of the 2016 season. The achievement will be celebrated during the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series™ race at Phoenix International Raceway this weekend. The 10 million miles will have been accumulated across practice, qualifying and racing laps since the biofuel was adopted by the sport.

Six years ago, NASCAR entered into a groundbreaking partnership with Sunoco and American Ethanol, launching its long-term biofuels program to reduce emissions across its three national series. After an exhaustive analysis, Sunoco formulated Sunoco Green E15 to allow for a seamless transition, and the biofuel made its debut at Daytona International Speedway in 2011. All the ethanol for Green E15 is produced from American-grown corn at Sunoco's ethanol manufacturing facility in Fulton, N.Y.

"As we approach 10 million miles on Sunoco Green E15 across our three national series, it's evident that the renewable, higher ethanol blended fuel performs flawlessly against our rigorous racing conditions," said Brent Dewar, NASCAR Chief Operating Officer. "This remarkable milestone is the result of an industry-wide commitment to demonstrate high performance racing with reduced emissions, while educating our fans about the benefits of sustainable and renewable American ethanol."

Since transitioning to the biofuel, NASCAR has helped validate the fuel's qualities in front of an audience of millions of NASCAR fans and is helping shift attitudes and behaviors around the use of ethanol. According to new research conducted in July, when compared to non-fans, NASCAR fans are more likely to support the use of ethanol blended gasoline to fuel NASCAR race cars, their own car, and cars on the road today to increase U.S. energy independence. Source: Custom Environment-Related Tracker commissioned by NASCAR and conducted by Toluna (July 2016).

"We are thrilled to reach this important milestone with NASCAR and to be a part of the effort to reduce the sport's impact on the environment with Sunoco Green E15, while increasing horsepower and standing up to the most demanding conditions on the track," said Emily Skor, CEO of Growth Energy. "Like their favorite NASCAR drivers, consumers are now utilizing a fuel with a blend of 15 percent ethanol. Americans have already driven over 500 million miles on E15. Today, nearly 400 stations across 28 states sell E15 and those numbers continue to climb. Consumer demand is on the rise because Americans are finding out that E15 is the right choice for their engines, their wallets and the environment."

The move to Sunoco Green E15 coincided with the incorporation of more technology into NASCAR race cars. In 2012, the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series transitioned from carbureted engines to electronic fuel injection using an electronic control unit (ECU) – the first computer technology used in a NASCAR race car. In addition, the series moved from analog gauges to a digital dashboard this season.

"As a lifelong fan and a proud team owner, I am certain that the switch to an ethanol blend has been a great move by NASCAR," said Richard Childress, Chairman and CEO of RCR. "We're proud of our connection to the ethanol industry and all of the good that it's doing for our country, and could not be more pleased to celebrate passing 10 million miles with the industry."

During the pace car laps at the start of the race on Sunday at Phoenix International Raceway, NASCAR fans at the start/finish line will be asked to participate in a coordinated American Ethanol green flag wave to help commemorate the 10 million-mile achievement.

Click here for an infographic on the 10 million-mile milestone.

The Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup will continue with the Can-Am 500 at Phoenix International Raceway on Sunday, Nov. 13 at 2:30 p.m. ET on NBC, MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.

All racecars must be equipped with a complete driver full containment type seat with head rest and head surround. All seats must meet or exceed the SFI 39.2 specification and display a legible and valid SFI 39.2 label.

Seats must be used as supplied and instructed by the seat manufacturer with the exception of trimming the length of the left side head surround for the purpose of egress only. If the left side head surround is trimmed to a distance that is less than the most forward surface of the drivers helmet (usually the area crossing the chin) then a left side head net meeting the SFI 37.1 must be installed with a quick release latch.

Seats must be mounted to a seat frame that is welded to the racecar frame/roll cage structure. Attaching points, angles, and materials for the seat frame and mounting of the seat to the seat frame must be in accordance to the seat manufacturer instructions.

B. Fire Suppression
All racecars must be equipped with a thermally deployed automatic fire suppression system. The fire suppression system will consist of a DOT approved cylinder manufactured from aluminum or steel with a capacity of ten (10) lbs. of fire extinguishing agent, steel or steel reinforced lines, and two (2) thermally activated discharge nozzles.
All systems must meet or exceed SFI 17.1 specifications.

Systems must be fully charged with ten (10) lbs. of DuPont FE-36, 3M NOVEC 1230, or Fire Aide and display a legible and valid SFI and manufacturer label depicting fire extinguishing agent, capacity, and certification date. Cylinders that or beyond useful certification date must be inspected, serviced and re-labeled by the manufacturer.
Cylinders must be mounted forward of the fuel cell. Cylinders must be securely mounted to the frame/roll cage assembly. The certification label must be unobstructed and easily accessible for inspection when the mounting is complete.

The cylinder must be connected to the nozzles with steel or steel reinforced lines.
Two (2) thermally activated nozzles must be used. One (1) nozzle must be located directly above the fuel cell in the fuel cell area and the second nozzle must be located in the driver cockpit area.
An optional manual override cable may be added to the system.
