Le Champion 2016 du Super Late Model CARS Tour amorcera sa saison le 29 janvier

au SpeedFest 2017 de la série CRA en Georgie

Montréal, le 11 janvier 2017 – Un calendrier 2017 fort chargé attend Raphaël Lessard, le Champion 2016 de la série CARS Tour, alors que vingt-trois courses figurent à son calendrier préliminaire, dont trois dans la série ARCA, l'anti-chambre des prestigieuses séries NASCAR.

Le pilote de la Toyota Camry #99 FRL Express / Team Coach Imaging / Toyota / JBL Audio sera de retour avec Gilliland Racing pour une deuxième saison. Lessard amorcera sa saison 2017 le dimanche 29 janvier alors qu'il participera au traditionnel SpeedFest de la série CRA pour une course de 200 tours au Watermelon Capital Speedway, en Georgie. Contrairement à 2016, et en ligne avec le plan de match établi par son agent Robert Desrosiers, David Gilliland Racing et Toyota TRD, Raphaël ne courra pas dans un seul championnat en 2017, mais bien dans 5 séries différentes, soit dans les séries CRA, CARS, PASS, SSS et ARCA.

Le fait saillant de ce calendrier réside dans l'invitation faite par Toyota à Raphaël, un pilote du programme de développement Toyota, pour qu'il participe à 3 courses ARCA durant l'été. Deux de ces trois courses sont confirmées et il s'agit du Nashville ARCA 200 au Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway, le 8 avril, et du Winchester ARCA 200 au Winchester Speedway, en Indiana, le 6 août. La 3e course ARCA sera annoncée sous peu. Pour ces trois courses, Raphaël fera partie de l'équipe de course Venturini Motorsports, dirigée par l'unique Billy Venturini.

Fort d'un championnat dans la série CARS Tour avec ses 4 premières places, 8 top 5 et 9 top 10, le jeune Beauceron a également été élu comme « Pilote Late Model 2016 le plus populaire » en Amérique du Nord selon un concours mené par Speed51.com et commandité par ARBodies. Ce sont des milliers d'amateurs de course automobile aux États-Unis et au Canada qui ont voté pendant quelques mois sur le site de Speed51 pour déterminer le gagnant. Lessard compétitionnait pour le titre contre plus de 600 pilotes représentant 21 séries et 78 pistes locales au Canada et aux États-Unis.

En 2017 il touchera à plusieurs séries et plusieurs courses de longue haleine qui l'occuperont de fin janvier jusqu'au début décembre 2017. « Je suis très excité pour la saison à venir. J'aurai plusieurs courses de 400 tours sans compter les trois courses ARCA. Ce sera toute une saison et je remercie Gilliland Racing et Toyota pour leur support. J'ai hâte de reprendre le volant avec eux. Merci aussi à Toyota pour l'invitation à participer aux trois courses ARCA - ce sera tout simplement fantastique » de dire Raphael Lessard.

Deux compagnies de la Beauce contribuent également aux succès de Raphaël Lessard. Il s'agit de FRL Express, de St-Joseph-de Beauce, la compagnie de transport de son père, sans qui rien de cette aventure n'aurait pu voir le jour, n'eut été de son implication, et de Team Coach Imaging (Lettra Pub au Canada), une compagnie de lettrage pour autobus, véhicules récréatifs et flottes commerciales, installée à Ste-Marie-de-Beauce.

Raphaël sera aux États-Unis la semaine prochaine pour assister au banquet de fin de saison du CARS Tour, le 14 janvier, et en profitera pour visiter les nouvelles installations de David Gilliland à Morrisville, Caroline du Nord, puis pour prendre part à des rencontres préparatoires pour la nouvelle saison.

Bienvenue aux équipes de course dans la NASCAR Late Model

Vallée Jonction, mercredi 11 janvier 2017 - L'équipe de gestion de l'Autodrome Chaudière confirme les détails officiels entourant la première saison de la nouvelle classe NASCAR Late Model suite à sa réunion, tenue avec les équipes de course dimanche dernier. Elle se produira sur le circuit qui fête ses 25 ans d'existence dès le milieu du mois de mai.

L'engouement créé par l'arrivée de cette nouvelle série à Vallée Jonction s'est fait sentir dès l'annonce de l'obtention de la sanction NASCAR par l'Autodrome Chaudière alors qu'en date d'aujourd'hui, près de 20 équipes de courses ont réservé leur numéro pour la prochaine année.

Règlementations

Les principaux règlements ont été transmis aux différentes équipes de course. Aucune modification ne devra être faite par les équipiers pour être à niveau sauf l'achat de pneus Hoosier qui auront les mêmes standards que les autres séries LMS. << Nous croyons qu'avec ses derniers ajustements, plusieurs équipes de course seront tentées de venir courir chez nous. On avait comme mission de permettre au plus grand nombre d'équipes de course de partout en Amérique du Nord d'avoir une chance de vivre l'expérience Vallée Jonction sans devoir faire de changements importants à leur véhicule et c'est ce que l'on a fait >> de dire Yves Groleau, directeur des opérations de course.

Bourses et fonds de points 2017

Lors des événements, les 20 premiers pilotes obtiendront une bourse durant la soirée selon leur performance alors qu'un total annuel de plus de 100 000$sera remis aux équipes cette saison.

De plus, l'équipe de gestion confirme la garantie d'un fond de point minimale de 20 000$CAN. Plusieurs possibilités d'augmenter ce fond s'ajoutent selon les performances des pilotes au courant de la saison.

Le champion Provincial de la Division 1 de la série NASCAR Whelen All Américan Séries pourrait également représenter l'Autodrome Chaudière dans le cadre des remises officielles lors du Gala NASCAR, tenues à Charlotte.

Équipes d'officiels

M. Yves Groleau assumera le rôle de directeur des opérations des courses et de directeur de course de cette série, M. Chantal Lamontagne, sera l'inspecteur de cette classe alors que M. Martin Roy Jr devient le responsable du protocole NASCAR.

L'ajout de M.Chantal Lamontagne à titre d'inspecteur de la série NASCAR Late Model est un atout important pour cette classe alors qu'il compte plus de 35 ans d'expérience dans le milieu de la course automobile, ayant été inspecteur ACT à leur tout début, propriétaire d'une piste pendant 2 ans et également propriétaire d'équipes de course dans des séries LMS et Pass.

Récemment nommé à titre de directeur des opérations des courses pour toutes les classes, M. Yves Groleau relèvera également le défi de celui de la NASCAR Late Model à titre de directeur de course. Il détient une expérience hors du commun dans le monde des courses depuis de nombreuses années et il sera, nous en sommes certain, apporter son apport au développement et à l'amélioration des courses autant pour les pilotes que pour les spectateurs.

Martin Roy Jr est connu principalement sur la terre battue alors qu'il a piloté pendant 12 années sur différentes pistes du Québec. Il a été champion << Gros Block >> à 4 reprises, l'une des plus importantes classes sur la terre battue à ce moment en plus de terminer à 5 occasions vice-champion. Depuis qu'il s'est retiré en 1994, il a travaillé aux États-Unis pour l'un des plus grands pilotes américains sur terre battue, soit Brett Hearn comme membre d'équipe. Il occupera le poste de responsable du protocole NASCAR.

Détails des courses

L'organisation confirme 9 courses pour la saison 2017. Le premier programme aura lieu le 13 mai prochain, alors qu'il s'agit de 75 tours. Lors de la fin de semaine de la confédération, 150 tour est au programme dans le cadre de la soirée Langis Caron. Finalement, durant le weekend des 25 ans, la NASCAR Late Model se produira sur un 250 tours (2 x 125). L'horaire complet est disponible sur le site Internet de l'Autodrome Chaudière.

Suite à la réunion Nascar Late Model Autodrome Chaudière Vallée-Jonction qui s'est tenue le 8 janvier et où était présent André Poulin, promoteur de la Série Sportsman Qc ainsi que Dominic Jacques et Pier-Luc Labbé, représentant des pilotes, voici un compte rendu en ce qui concerne les Sportsman Qc.

Une voiture Sportsman Qc pourra prendre part au Nascar Late Model aux conditions suivantes :

- Avoir un moteur 603 ou 604 avancé de 2 pouces

- Mettre le bon carburateur

- Amortisseurs KONI au 4 coins

- Changements de headers s'imposera

- Acquitter les frais de 200$ pour la carte de membre

- Maximum de 28 pneus pour la saison

Toute voiture Sportsman Qc qui voudrait faire 1 ou des courses Nascar Late Model et qui restera sous la règlementation Sportsman Qc ne seront en aucun cas acceptées selon les dires du directeur technique Nascar Late Model Chantal Lamontagne.

Empire Super Sprints Headed To Airborne

PLATTSBURGH- The Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints will make an appearance at Airborne Park Speedway on June 10 of 2017.

The series runs both in the United States and in Canada. Last season, events were run in Ontario, Quebec, New York, Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

The group has a U.S. tour and a Canada tour that the drivers can participate and collect championship points. There is also an overall combined point standing for both tours.

"We are looking forward to making our return to Airborne after nearly 30 years," Empire Super Sprints Promoter Dean Reynolds said. "It's a pleasure to come to one of the premier facilities from both sides of the border and the fans will get to see the best ESS sprint car drivers from the US and Canada."

Airborne Promoter John Walker, is looking forward to the event and is optimistic about cars and fans.

"I think we are in an ideal location to draw cars from both sides," Walker said. "This show and car count has the ability to be huge."

The Empire Super Sprints will be in the Northern part of New York for the weekend, with a stop at the Mohawk International Raceway on Friday night.

"With our event at Mohawk the night before, it makes for a great weekend in the North Country," said Reynolds.

The new look for Airborne in 2017 has created a great buzz throughout the Empire Super Sprints community along with the dirt racing community in general.

"There is a lot of excitement with the dirt being placed back down on the surface and we were honored that John reached out to us to add to his already exciting schedule," Reynolds added.

Graniteville, Vermont native, Stephen Donahue filed the first entry for the Dalton Mountain Motorsports Winter Blast 100 snow race presented by Optical Expressions Berlin, Around the Clock Auto Repair, and the North Country Family Restaurant at Speedway 51 in Groveton, New Hampshire.

Donahue, whom participated in the Tiger Sportsman division at the Track periodically in 2016 is looking forward to carrying the checkered flag in this family oriented, fun event. The 2016 Thunder Road Tiger Sportsman champion will be challenged by numerous snow racers from throughout the Northeast.

The event will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 2pm. This race has no boundaries as any type of vehicle is allowed. In the past such units as school buses, hearses, mini-vans, pickup trucks and all types of cars have competed for the giant winner's trophy! There will also be a $100 prize to the best themed car costume. Entry fee for this event is $25, and pit fee will be $20. General admission for the grandstands will be $12 for adults, $10 for Seniors 62 & up, ages 12-17 are just $5, and kids twelve and under are free. Post time will be 2pm on Saturday, January 21st, and a severe weather make-up date has been scheduled for Saturday, February 4^th at 2pm. Expanded "Road To The Oxford 250" Returns For 4^th Year in 2017

OXFORD, ME (December 24) – Oxford Plains Speedway owner and Pro All Stars Series (PASS) President Tom Mayberry announced today the continuation of the "Road To The Oxford 250" program in 2017. Celebrating its fourth year in 2017, the groundbreaking "Road To The Oxford 250" concept will expand to give racers across the continent the chance to compete in short track asphalt racing's biggest event. As mentioned with the announcement of the Speedway 660 event over a month ago, competitors from Canada and the United States will have opportunity to race for guaranteed starting spots, while keeping the focus on the 250 throughout the season.

The 2016 Oxford 250 saw droves of race fans from across North America and over 60 Super Late Models make the annual August trek to Oxford Plains Speedway, making this one of the most successful editions of the venerable race in over a decade. Wayne Helliwell, Jr. of Pelham, NH, a winner of a "Road To The Oxford 250" qualifier in 2016, captured the checkered flag and took home nearly $30,000 for his winning efforts.

"This year's race was a great event and once again proved that the Oxford 250 is one of the premier events in all of short track racing," said Mayberry. "The 'Road To The Oxford 250' has grown every year since we first started it in 2014 and this year's will be the biggest yet. We will be able to keep the 250 in focus throughout the year and, while there will be several spots offered through the program, many of these will not have to be used since most of those competitors will advance through the famed heat races. The 'Road' will not reduce the number of starters that will be able to advance through qualifying."

The first event to be featured in the "Road To The Oxford 250" will be the PASS National Championship race at Orange County Speedway on March 25. The winner of the 10^thRunning Of The Orange Blossom Special will be the first driver with a guaranteed spot for the 250. The best Super Late Models in the North and South will come together at Orange County Speedway with the added bonus of making the prestigious race.

The "Road" then continues to a pair of international events in Canada in the late spring. PASS returns to Quebec at Autodrome Montmagny on May 21, with the top three finishers each from Canada and the United States advancing to the 250. Then, on June 3, PASS heads to the Canadian Maritimes for an event at Speedway 600 in New Brunswick. Like the Montmagny race, the top finishing drivers from Canada and the United States will advance to the 250, again this time three drivers will come from each country.

The final race as part of the "Road To The Oxford 250" will be a special non-points, Open at Oxford Plains Speedway on July 2. The Independence Weekend race changes from 2016 in that it will not be limited to PASS "non-winners." In 2017, the PASS Open will be a way for any driver to get more seat time at Oxford Plains Speedway and have the chance to get locked into the 250. The top three finishers who have not won a PASS event in the last five year will be guaranteed a spot in the 250, while the top two finishers who have won a PASS event will also be granted a provisional if needed.

Additionally, the top licensed drivers in points from PASS North, PASS South, and the PASS National Championship Series, will have a provisional available, if needed, as long as they have attempted to qualify for every race in their chosen series. All drivers that will have guaranteed spots through the "Road To The Oxford 250" or via championship points provisionals have to compete in their heat races or in their consolation race, but will not have to compete in the last chance race if they have not already advanced. A full schedule of events and support divisions for the 44^th Annual Oxford 250 at Oxford Plains Speedway will be announced in the near future.

WE HAVE TALKED WITH MANY OF THE LOCAL TEAMS AND THEY SEEM TO THINK THIS WILL BRING MANY CARS BACK TO THE TRACK.

2. WE ARE GOING TO BE RUNNING 9" HOOSIER TIRES THAT WILL BE THE SAME PRICE AS THE 8" AMERICAN RACER TIRE. MANY OF THE TOP CAR BUILDERS AND RACE TEAMS THINK THIS IS A GREAT IDEA.

3. WE WILL BE INSTITUTING A STRICT TIRE PROGRAM BEING:

1^ST RACE – 4-6 TIRES, 2^ND RACE – 2 TIRES, 3^RD RACE – 4 TIRES,

4^TH RACE – 2 TIRES, 5^TH RACE 4 TIRES. TOTAL TIRE BILL $2,000 - $2,250

4. PRACTICE TIRES CAN BE PURCHASED AT WILL, BUT THEY WILL BE PAINTED AND SPECIALLY MARKED.

AS WE LOOKED AT OUR ROSTERS FROM 2016, AND REALIZED THAT SEVERAL DRIVERS ARE MOVING UP DIVISIONS IN 2017 LEAVING US AN UNSURE CAR COUNT FOR, WE FEEL NOW IS THE BEST TIME TO GET RID OF THE $80 TRACK TIRE AND GO TO SOMETHING MORE AFFORDABLE. THE TIRE WE USE WILL BE A SHAVED TIRE, AND PRICED AFFORDABLE. WE WILL BE ANNOUNCING THIS NEW TIRE RULE IN THE NEAR FUTURE.

LADY ANGELS

1. 2017 WILL SEE THE RETURN OF THE ANGELS SERIES FOR WOMEN RACERS. THE RULES WILL BE EXACTLY THE SAME AS THE CYCLONES, AND WILL BE RUN ON THE SAME NIGHTS THAT THE CYCLONES RACE. AS WE RE-INTRODUCE THESE LADIES TO THE SPORT, THERE WILL BE FEATURES ONLY UNTIL CAR COUNTS ALLOW FOR HEATS. LADY RACERS MAY RUN A CAR FOR A CYCLONE DRIVER. THIS IS A GREAT HUSBAND AND WIFE TEAM PROGRAM. ANGELS WILL RACE LIKE A REGULAR DIVISIONS WITH CAUTIONS AND A LIMITED PURSE.

Winter Meltdown Entry Forms, 2017 PASS Registrations Now Available Online; South Dates Finalized

NAPLES, ME (December 19) – Pro All Stars Series (PASS) officials announced today that entry forms for the upcoming 4^th Running of the Winter Meltdown at Dillon Motor Speedway are now available online at ProAllStarsSeries.com. The "original" Winter Meltdown featuring the 12^th Annual South Carolina Clash will go green on Saturday afternoon, February 4 at 2 PM and will serve as the first race of 2017 for the PASS South Super Late Models and the PASS National Championship Series.

The PASS Winter Meltdown will be bigger than ever in 2017 featuring more laps, more money, and the chance for teams to employ pit strategy. The PASS Super Late Models will compete for 200 green flag laps, with $6,000 up for grabs for the winner and $700 to start. Teams will also have the option to pit at lap 125 for fuel and two new tires, but are not required to take tires before returning to the tricky egg-shaped speedway for the action-packed final 75 laps. Being on Super Bowl weekend, the PASS Winter Meltdown will be the first major points event of 2017 and will also feature a 75 lap event for the Dillon Motor Speedway Late Models, paying $1500 to win. The "original" Meltdown is also the first opportunity for teams looking to lockdown a potential national championship provisional for the 44^th Annual Oxford 250 to be held in August at Oxford Plains Speedway.

PASS officials also announced that 2017 licenses are now available online at ProAllStarsSeries.com for the PASS Super Late Model and PASS Modified divisions. Drivers purchasing licenses for the 2017 season will receive bonus points for each race they are pre-registered for, are eligible for provisional starting spots, and will also save money towards any events that they enter early.

"The Winter Meltdown started a number of years ago, but we believe it truly has found a home at Dillon," said PASS President Tom Mayberry. "In 2017 we will get an early start to the season at Dillon with the PASS Winter Meltdown, which looks to be bigger than ever before. All of our competitors and fans are excited to get started at Dillon next year and we can't wait to get it underway in February. It will be here before you know it, that's for sure."

The 2017 PASS South Super Late Model schedule has now been finalized with dates at Southern National Motorsports Park on July 15and South Boston Speedway on August 13. With the latest date announced, along with the previously scheduled event set for March, PASS will be the exclusive sanctioning body for Super Late Model events at Southern National in 2017. While the PASS South schedule is complete, additional details will be announced in the coming weeks for the return of PASS to Quebec on May 21, plus other exciting news surrounding the 44^th Annual Oxford 250.

NASCAR Unveils New Brand Identity, Premier Series Name and Mark

Premier Series to Be Named Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Beginning in 2017

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Dec. 19, 2016) –- NASCAR today unveiled a new official brand identity which will replace the bar mark used by the sanctioning body since 1976. The announcement was made in conjunction with the news that Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series™will be the new name of the sport's premier series beginning January 1, 2017.

The new brand mark and Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series mark, which prominently features the iconic Monster Energy logo, together represent a new era in NASCAR and were first shared today across NASCAR social and digital media channels.

The NASCAR brand identity has been in development since early 2016 as part of a broader effort to refresh the NASCAR brand. It was designed to pay tribute to the storied history of NASCAR, incorporating elements of all four previous marks since the company's inaugural season of 1948.

"Our new NASCAR mark is modern, timeless, and embraces the heritage of our sport," said Jill Gregory, NASCAR senior vice president and chief marketing officer. "It was important for us to recognize our history and implement a piece of each previous mark in the new design. Our goal was to evolve the sport's visual identity to make it concise, relevant and functional, while respecting and maintaining the unique qualities of the original mark."

The first Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series points race will be the 59^th running of the Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway on Feb. 26 (2 p.m. ET, FOX, MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio). Tickets are available at NASCAR.com/tickets.
