After a hugely successful opening event of the 2017 Speedway 51 Vintage Snowmobile Racing Series on January 28^th, Speedway 51 are hard at work preparing the grounds for Round #2, scheduled for Saturday, February 18^th. The opening race saw over 130 sleds compete in the eighteen different divisions. More are expected for the next race.

The 2017 campaign at Canada's Toughest 3^rd of a Mile Paved Oval has all the makings of being a season of change. Not only will the popular facility celebrate its 50^th Anniversary Season of action, when the green flag flies to kick things off, fans at Peterborough Speedway will see some exciting changes when their favourite drivers take to the track.

Shortly after last year's Autumn Colours Classic, several teams began working on plans that would see them acquire new equipment to allow them to move into a different racing division, or take their existing program in a new direction.

Just a few days after concluding the 2016 season, Brandon Feeney closed a deal to purchase one of the best-known cars to ever race at Peterborough Speedway, when he bought 'The Bus' from Crowe Brothers Racing. The move marked the end of the Orono, Ontario native's time in the Battlefield Equipment 4Fun division, where he'd raced since 2014 and earned a best point finish of 7^th in 2016. Feeney will take the first green flag of the new season in the reworked machine, as he joins the Paul Davis Systems Thunder Car ranks.

His resume includes time in an ACT Late Model while running weekly at Kawartha, as well as travelling with the OSCAAR Modified and Lucas Oil Sportsman Cup Series tours. After a brief layoff, Tim Burke returned to the short track wars for 2015 in the Renegade Truck division at Peterborough Speedway. The Bancroft, Ontario resident had a strong season and finished 2^nd in points, but he relinquished the driving duties to good friend Stephen Bierworth after just one year. The lure of competition will bring the veteran runner back to the sport in 2017, as the #99 machine is set to return to action as part of the 50^th Anniversary Season at the tight, tricky bullring on Mount Pleasant Road, west of the Liftlock City.

Its been about 6 years since Jeffrey Remington turned a lap at Peterborough Speedway, but the 34 year-old will be back – if only for a limited schedule – in 2017. This season, he'll switch from the Renegade Truck field and return to the Paul Davis Systems Thunder Car ranks. The former Adam Scott Collegiate and Vocational Institute student says he's looking forward to putting his equipment through its paces again.

On the other side of the coin, after recording a pair of feature wins during the month of June, a grinding crash late in the 2016 season may keep Brandon Hannah out of this year's action. The pilot of the #47 machine in the Jiffy Lube Mini Stock field had his ride severely damaged, with only the engine, transmission and a set of tires salvageable after the wreck. The 26 year-old says he has some irons in the fire, but knows it could be an uphill climb to get back on the track.

Staff and officials at Peterborough Speedway are working hard to put together an exciting 50^th Anniversary Season. From the first green flag of opening night, to the final victory lane celebration of the 25^th Annual Autumn Colours Classic, 2017 will offer an action-packed calendar.

The official schedule won't be released until the Motorama Custom Car and Motorsports Expo – March 10^th to 12^th – at the International Centre in Toronto, but the promotional team has confirmed that the popular Toonie Spectator Grandstand Admission/Fan Appreciation Nights – presented by Pepsi – will return Saturday, June 3^rd, July 8^th and August 19^th.

Busy Offseason For NASCAR Touring Series

New faces & some new rules in place for 2017

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Feb. 10, 2017) – With the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East opener just over a week away – marking the official start to the 2017 NASCAR touring series season – the attention will return to the exciting on-track action. While there hasn't been a race since November, it's been a busy offseason.

Beginning in December, NASCAR officials met with the car owners of all the U.S. and Canadian-based touring series, a move designed to further the dialogue between the sanctioning body and the teams. The conversations included covering some changes as well as an open discussion of how best to collectively grow the NASCAR touring series.

"We had overwhelmingly positive and productive discussions," said Brandon Thompson, NASCAR senior director of the touring series. "NASCAR has really great racing throughout our touring series, but there are always ways to work to toward cost efficiency, make the sport more cost-effective and increase the level of competition for all involved. As in the case of our national series, we always strive to have an open dialogue during the race season, but it's also a great benefit to meet away from the track and the daily demands of the race season. We received a lot of great feedback from all our owners and look forward to working together."

Highlights of the 2017 offseason include:

· NASCAR announced today that Cherie Putnam will take over as the NASCAR Pinty's Series director. Putnam, a native of Windsor, Ontario, has been involved in the sport for over 25 years. She was part of a Sunset Speedway championship and two NASCAR Pinty's Series titles, and has worked the last five years as a NASCAR official. The NASCAR Pinty's Series, the national championship for racing in Canada, will open the season on its traditional Victoria Day Weekend (Sunday, May 21) at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.

· Chris Wright was appointed to be the series director of the NASCAR K&N Pro Series. Wright, who has been the director for the K&N Pro East since 2013, will oversee both the East and the West. In addition, Andy Mitchell will become the head technical inspector for both the East and West, as NASCAR continues to align the top developmental series. Jimmie Walker was named the race director for the K&N Pro West, while Les Westerfield will continue in that position in the K&N Pro East.

· Following the format change set forth by NASCAR's three national series, NASCAR's four U.S. and Canadian-based series will switch from a green-white-checkered finish to an overtime line for its races. The location of the line will be determined on a track-by-track basis, and will typically be entering Turn 3 on ovals. If the event goes past the advertised distance due to a caution, on the restart, if the leaders reach the overtime line before another caution comes out, it will be considered official. If the caution comes out prior, the race will have another restart.

· Starting with the K&N Pro Series East opener at Florida's New Smyrna Speedway on Sunday, Feb. 19, NASCAR announced the move to group qualifying on ovals. There will be single-car qualifying at select events, like the NASCAR Whelen Modified races at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Qualifying groups will be set by practice times.

· The NASCAR K&N Pro Series East and West, and the NASCAR Pinty's Series schedules will feature a unique format for one of its events in each series: Twin 100-lap features. The NASCAR K&N Pro Series West will be first up at California's Irwindale Speedway. The NASCAR K&N Pro Series East will run twins at Virginia's South Boston Speedway, and the NASCAR Pinty's Series will do so at Wyant Group Raceway in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. The starting lineup for the second 100-lap race will be determined by the fastest lap run in the first race.

· The NASCAR K&N Pro Series West doubleheader is part of four races at three tracks in seven days to kick off the season that includes a $100,000 NAPA 500 Challenge bonus award if a driver wins all four races. The season opens at Tucson Speedway in Arizona on Saturday, March 18.

· Earlier this month, the NASCAR PEAK Mexico Series announced its 12-race schedule. Made up of six ovals and six road courses, the national championship for stock car racing in Mexico will open on Sunday, March 26 at Autódromo Monterrey, a 2.1-mile road course in Apodaca, Nuevo León. The series held an exhibition event in December following the announcement of a multi-year agreement with Old World Industries (OWI) to make PEAK the series entitlement sponsor.

· The NASCAR Whelen Euro Series announced a date change for its race at the prestigious Hockenheimring. The American Fan Fest will now be held July 29-30 and conclude the series' regular season before its two rounds of playoffs. The NASCAR Whelen Euro Series will open on April 8-9 at Valencia, Spain. The series, though, will have a number of drivers competing in the U.S. during Speedweeks, most notably two-time champion Anthony Kumpen in the NASCAR XFINITY Series race at Daytona International Speedway and 2016 Elite 2 champion Stienes Longin in the PPG/Tower Sealants Pro Late Model 100 as part of New Smyrna's 51st World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing.

· NASCAR has implemented mandatory pre-license drug testing for drivers in all its U.S.-based touring series as part of NASCAR's evolving substance abuse program.

· Earlier this week, Safety-Kleen, the Official Environmental Services Supplier of NASCAR, was announced as entitlement sponsor for the first race of the new unified NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour. The race, at South Carolina's historic Myrtle Beach Speedway, will be the Performance Plus 150 for Safety-Kleen's new brand of high-quality, high-performance motor oil.

Stu Robinson Jr. Books a Ticket to Bristol Motor Speedway

Ask any driver at your favourite weekly short track and you'll probably find that they all have a place where they'd love to race. Maybe its because they've seen an event there in person, or know someone who has raced there before. Whatever the reason, they have put the venue on their bucket list. For some it might be Daytona or Talladega, but for Stu Robinson Jr., the race track that satisfies his hunger is the legendary Bristol Motor Speedway.

The popular second-generation speedster from Beaverton, Ontario – who finished in the runner-up spot of the championship standings and was named the top first year driver with the Ontario Modifieds Racing Series in 2016 – will head to the World's Fastest Half Mile for the Short Track U.S. Nationals, Friday and Saturday, May 19^th & 20^th. Even though he's raced at some of the best-known venues across the province throughout his career, he says there isn't one that compares to Bristol.

"That place is its own beast," said Robinson Jr. with a smile. "We'll be running the same car from Robert James Racing in Bradford, Ontario that we had on the OMRS tour. The body needed to be changed to conform to their rules and we'll run a different engine, so we're not taking a knife to a gun fight. I'm excited, just a little bit nervous but hoping we'll have a strong showing. Once we get to run some laps during practice we should be able to find a set-up that'll work during race conditions."

Robinson Jr. says its hard to predict the number of entries, but based on the NASCAR numbers, there could be more than 30 of the powerful open-wheeled modified machines in the starting field, but only one from north of the border. Officials with Robert James Racing – the team that fields the OMRS rides for Robinson Jr., his teammate Connor James and the Lucas Oil Sportsman Cup Series car of Donny Beatty – say it's a wonderful marketing opportunity to fly the Canadian Colours at one of NASCAR's most popular tracks.

"Here at home, we've complied 3 championship calibre programs under the same umbrella," said team principle Robert James. "Donny Beatty won the OMRS title in 2015 and Stu Robinson Jr. was second-best in the same series last year. We've put together a strong package for this one event and we'll head into Bristol with the same dedication, focus and attention to detail as we do when fighting for a checkered flag at tracks like Peterborough, Sunset or Flamboro."

TORONTO, ON // FEBRUARY 10, 2017 • A perennial supporter of the Motorama Custom Car & Motorsports Expo presented by Mothers, Prostate Cancer Canada (PCC) has been named as the 'official charity' of the biggest car show of its kind, in Canada.

For the 2017 edition of Motorama – which runs March 10, 11 & 12 at Toronto's International Centre – Prostate Cancer Canada will again have a booth staffed by PCC representatives, many of them cancer survivors, prepared to discuss and inform show visitors about this most commonly diagnosed cancer among Canadian men.

"Our support group has long targeted the car hobby, finding places where we can connect with the 'boys and their toys'," explained Prostate Cancer Canada spokesman Jim Dorsey. "The best place to find men, and the ladies who care about them, is around cars. We've found that the wives and girlfriends are often the best sales people we have."

One in eight Canadian men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer during their lifetime. Although the mortality rate has noticeably decreased over the past 15 years due to improved testing and better treatment options, an estimated 4,000 Canadian men succumbed to prostate cancer last year alone.

"The key to surviving prostate cancer is early detection. Getting tested on a regular basis can save your life," continued Dorsey. "That's the message that we're trying to get across at Motorama."

David Weber, one of the principal partners of Motorama echoes a similar message. "As a prostate cancer survivor myself, I know firsthand how devastating a positive diagnosis can be. I also know firsthand that early detection can mean the difference between life and death, and in my case I was very lucky to find my cancer early.Motorama is pleased to be able to partner with Prostate Cancer Canada at this year's show."

Although the primary objective of the appearance of Prostate Cancer Canada is to increase awareness of this painful disease and to encourage regular testing, Motorama and PCC organizers will also be making efforts to race funds for cancer research. Prostate Cancer Canada pledge forms and a donation box will be available to exhibitors and sponsors in the show office, with other donation locations for show visitors spread throughout the Motorama show area.

Prostate Cancer Canada will be located in Booth # 136, in the northwest portion of Hall 1.

Une première pour les ESS à Vallée Jonction

La série américaine Empire Super Sprint (ESS) qui se produit habituellement sur terre battue en sera à une première présence au Québec sur le circuit asphalté de l'Autodrome Chaudière le dimanche 27 août prochain.

En date d'aujourd'hui, pas moins de six pilotes américains ont confirmé leur présence pour cette seule course sur l'asphalte au Québec en 2017. Pour l'instant, cinq Québécois seront aussi en piste lors de cet événement.

Parmi les pilotes confirmés, notons celle de Steve Poirier qui est champion à multiples reprises de cette série, dont celle de l'an dernier. La présence du Québécois Yan Bilodeau est également officielle, lui qui était de passage en septembre dernier à l'Autodrome Chaudière pour démontrer la rapidité de ces bolides de type Sprint Car. Les autres Québécois qui seront aussi présents sont : Alex Vigneault, Dale Gosselin et Jordan Poirier.

Yan Bilodeau est fébrile quant à sa participation à ce programme «J'ai vraiment aimé la piste de l'Autodrome Chaudière l'an dernier lors de mon essai. C'est très très rare que nous avons l'opportunité de courir sur l'asphalte et tous les pilotes à qui j'ai parlé ont encerclé cette date à leur calendrier». Celui qui a testé la piste en septembre dernier ajoute «Je vais travailler très fort pour donner un grand spectacle aux amateurs de la région».

Pour l'Autodrome Chaudière, la présence de cette série américaine est une excellente nouvelle « les amateurs présents lors de cette journée auront l'occasion de voir des bolides très rapides. De plus, les courses de ce type de véhicules sont très spectaculaires et le bruit des moteurs donne des frissons aux amateurs. Ces autos de course sont parmi les seules à fonctionner avec du méthanol. Enfin, nous sommes très heureux que Steve Poirier, un pilote émérite, ait confirmé sa présence pour démontrer tout son talent chez nous» de mentionner M. Martin Roy JR, responsable des programmes de course et du protocole NASCAR à l'Autodrome Chaudière.

Expands Capabilities of NASCAR's Medical Support Model with AMR Partnership

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Feb. 8, 2017) – NASCAR announced today it is partnering with American Medical Response (AMR) to expand the capabilities of NASCAR's medical support model and enhance on-track incident response. AMR, a recognized leader in the emergency medical services, will add a doctor and paramedic to the on-track safety team for each Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series weekend.

NASCAR's industry-leading medical standards remain in place; Infield Care Centers will continue to be staffed with experienced local emergency room physicians, maintaining the valuable connection with local medical facilities at every track. Combining the experience of local emergency practitioners with the familiarity that the AMR team will develop with drivers will positively impact the process for years to come.

"This partnership further strengthens NASCAR's medical response capability, making our well-established, medical response system even better," said Steve O'Donnell, NASCAR executive vice president and chief racing development officer. "AMR is a leader in the emergency services sector, and its doctors and paramedics add another layer of expertise to the immediate response team."

AMR will position state licensed doctors and paramedics in a chase vehicle along with two NASCAR Track Services team members and immediately respond to an on-track incident. The paramedic and doctor will provide an assessment at the scene.

"We're excited about this partnership with NASCAR," said Edward Van Horne, president and chief executive officer, AMR. "We're going to work collaboratively with NASCAR and local teams to share best EMS practices and ensure the highest quality of care."

Returning to the 2017 edition of the Motorama Custom Car & Motorsports Expo presented by Mothers, running in Toronto's International Centre from March 10 to 12, Vintage Auto Insurance will take advantage of this annual gathering of like-minded car hobbyists to connect with potential customers in order to discuss policy options.

"The Motorama show is a great way for us to combine business with pleasure," noted Wilson. "We will be able to raise the profile of our company and discuss insurance needs with potential customers. And then we can take a break and talk all manner of cars and hot rods with fellow enthusiasts."

Another component of Vintage's involvement at Motorama is that it will be crowning the Grand Champion of its 3^rd Annual Vintage Auto Championship Series, at the show.

Drawing entrants from car shows throughout Ontario, the Championship Series' grand finale will see the Sweet 16 narrowed down to the fan-voted four semi-finalists in the Antique, Classic, Custom and Hot Rod categories. The Grand Champion, to be announced on Sunday (March 12) afternoon, will receive a cheque for $5,000 with the runner-up rewarded with a $2,000 prize.

"When we created the Vintage Auto Championship Series, it was our way to give back to the hobby," continued Wilson. "In on-line voting last year, we received almost 1.25 million hits. We have even loftier projections for this year's championship."

Visitors to Motorama will have the opportunity to view the majority of the vehicles that qualified for the 2016 Championship Series. In addition to the two vehicles still eligible for the $5,000 first prize being located in the Vintage booth, another eight to ten of the 'qualifier' vehicles that were part of the 2016 Championship Series 'ladder' will be on display in a large grouping, across the aisle from the Vintage Auto Insurance booth.

Last year's tournament Grand Champion, Mike Livia, will be present for the crowning of the new champion, as will his beautiful 1936 Ford pickup known as 'Copperhead.'

Concluded Wilson, "For Vintage Auto Insurance, the Motorama show is where one season ends and another begins. Crowning the Grand Champion will wrap up the 2016 competition, while, at the same time, the show will get people thinking about the upcoming year. Either way, it will be an exciting weekend for Vintage Auto Insurance."

· Veteran Driver Seeks Another NASCAR K&N West Title

ROSEVILLE, Calif. (Feb. 7, 2017) – Bill McAnally Racing announced today that Chris Eggleston will be back in the No. 99 NAPA Filters/H20 Fire Protection Toyota Camry for 2017, as he contends for a second championship in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West.

The Erie, Colorado driver is seeking another title to go with the one he won with BMR in 2015.

"It's great to have Chris back with us for another season," said BMR President Bill McAnally. "He's a fierce competitor and gets the job done. He's become an integral part of the team and has taken on a leadership role as a series veteran.

"He portrays the type of image that is important to BMR and serves as a role model to young drivers coming into the series," McAnally said. "We look forward to more success with Chris as his career continues with BMR."

McAnally also expressed his gratitude to NAPA Filters and NAPA for their continued sponsorship.

"NAPA Filters and NAPA have this team's success possible," he said. "We appreciate everything they have done and continue to do for the team. They have made for a winning combination with Chris behind the wheel of the black and gold Toyota."

Eggleston and BMR have been contenders in the series since they first joined forces three years ago. He went to Victory Lane in his first race with the team, while running a handful of events in 2014. That led to a full season campaign and the championship in 2015. Eggleston and his BMR team continued their winning ways last season with back-to-back victories, as well as his first career series pole.

"I'm real excited to be back behind the wheel of the No. 99 NAPA Filters Toyota," said Eggleston, who has five wins, 19 top-five, and 22 top-10 finishes in 31 career starts in the K&N Pro Series West. "The No. 99 has always brought us good luck; not for just myself, but for a lot of BMR drivers. We plan to pick up where we left off and get some wins early."

In addition to Eggleston, the lineup of BMR drivers running the full K&N West schedule in 2017 includes Todd Gilliland – who won the 2016 series championship as a rookie – and 15-year-old series rookie Derek Kraus.

"I really look forward to working with Todd and Derek throughout the year," Eggleston said. "Todd demonstrated last year that he's got the talent to get the job done and win races. And he did a great job in front of the media and with all our great NAPA sponsors.

"I look forward to being partnered up with Todd again and getting to know Derek," Eggleston said. "He's a young up-and-coming star. It will be a lot of fun to work with him and race against him."

Eggleston is a graduate of Colorado State University.

He developed his racing talent competing at his home track of Colorado National Speedway, a 3/8-mile short track just north of Denver. His resume features a 2009 ASA North championship and a Legends Series championship at CNS in 2006. In addition, Eggleston accumulated six national titles and more than 300 feature wins in 10 years of racing Quarter Midgets.

BMR captured back-to-back titles in the K&N Pro Series West in 2015 and 2016, giving car owner Bill McAnally seven series championships – a record for the series and the NASCAR Regional Touring level.

Top Drivers Honored at Two-Night Devil's Bowl Speedway Banquet of Champions

Nine track champions crowned; John Bruno Award to Ron Proctor

RUTLAND, Vt. – Devil's Bowl Speedway officially draw the curtain on its 50^th racing season during a two-night Banquet of Champions gala on February 3-4. Ceremonies were held in the Grand Ballroom at the Holiday Inn Rutland-Killington in Rutland, Vt., honoring nine stock car racing champions, top drivers, and special award winners at two tracks at the West Haven, Vt., facility; well over 400 guests attended the weekend gatherings.

Awards for the 3/10-mile Dirt Track at Devil's Bowl Speedway were presented on Friday, February 3, when Bobby Hackel of Rensselaer, N.Y., was crowned as the youngest lead-division champion in Devil's Bowl Speedway's 50-season history. The 22 year-old, fourth-generation racer won the Central Vermont Motorcycles Sportsman Modified title in the first season of NASCAR Whelen All-American Series-sanctioned racing at the Dirt Track. Tim LaDuc took runner-up honors with Kenny Tremont Jr. third.

Chris Donnelly of Piermont, N.H., collected the first championship ever awarded for a winged Sprint Car division at Devil's Bowl. Bill Duprey of Hydeville, Vt., was recognized as a four-time champion in the Rosen & Berger Auto Recyclers Renegade division, and Mike Ryan of Chelsea, Vt., took his first Portland Glass Mini Stock title. Rookie of the Year honors went to Justin Severance (Sportsman Modified), Hackel (Sprint Car), Josh Bussino (Renegade), and Cameron Kennedy (Mini Stock).

Sportsmanship and Most Improved Driver awards, which were decided by a vote of drivers, were also presented. Sportsmanship awards were given to Tremont, Donnelly, Bussino, and Mini Stock driver Jason Porter, while Most Improved laurels went to Sportsman Modified driver Chad Miller, Sprint Car favorite Lacey Hanson, Renegade veteran Matt Mosher, and Mini Stock runner Derrick Counter.

Tribute was also paid to driver Ron Casey of Manchester Center, Vt., who passed away after an accident at the track on July 3. It was announced that a special "Ron Casey Memorial" race will be held on Tuesday, June 13, for drivers who have not won a Sportsman Modified feature; the race will be 20 laps – a nod to Casey's car number.

The attention shifted on Saturday, February 4, to the 1/2-mile Asphalt Track at Devil's Bowl Speedway. Jason Durgan of Morrisonville, N.Y., collected the first championship of his career in the Bond Auto Parts Sportsman Modified division of the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series. Durgan topped Vince Quenneville Jr. after a tiebreaker, with Proctor third overall.

Josh Masterson of Bristol, Vt., was recognized as the first-ever two-time champion of the Central Vermont Motorcycles Late Model division at Devil's Bowl. Jim McKiernan of Moriah Center, N.Y., collected his first title in the Rosen & Berger Auto Recyclers Renegades, and Eric "Mongo" Messier of Hinesburg, Vt., took the Portland Glass Mini Stock crown. Cory Gray of Rutland, Vt., was awarded his first championship in the Enduro Series, which runs races on both track surfaces at Devil's Bowl.

Rookie of the Year honors went to Chuck Bradford (Sportsman Modified), Austin McKiernan (Renegade), and Messier (Mini Stock), while Sportsmanship awards were presented to Quenneville, Masterson, Renegade racer Scott FitzGerald, and Mini Stock driver Brett Wood. Most Improved awards went to Travis Bruno (Sportsman Modified), Robert Bryant Jr. (Late Model), Matt Monaghan (Renegade), and Brendan "Roo" Forrest (Mini Stock).

Several special annual awards were presented during the weekend including the track's highest honor, the John Bruno Award. The trophy was bestowed upon veteran driver Ron Proctor of Charlton, N.Y., on Saturday night, in recognition of his significant lifetime contributions to racing while maintaining high standards of conduct and respect on and off the track.

The award came as a surprise to everyone in attendance but especially to Proctor, who was presented the trophy by his car owner, Debbie Eddy, last year's John Bruno Award recipient. The easy-going Proctor – a two-time Devil's Bowl Speedway champion with dozens of victories across his 40-year career – received a standing ovation.

The annual Award of Excellence and the yearly Dedication Award were also given on each night. Volunteer staff member and safety crew member Rick Murray was honored with the Award of Excellence on Friday night, whileSaturday's award went to sponsors Walter and Lynn Manney of the Sugar & Spice restaurant, creators of the wildly popular "Great North American Pancake Eating Championship" held each year at Devil's Bowl. Friday night's Dedication Award was presented to longtime Devil's Bowl pit road and safety crew fixture David Ward, with Saturday's honors going to Food & Beverage manager Helen "Chip" Alexander.

Quenneville was recognized for winning his second-straight NASCAR Vermont State Championship – just days after a ceremony with Governor Phil Scott, himself a longtime driver, at the Vermont State House in Montpelier – and Jackie Brown Jr. was also applauded for his NASCAR Vermont State Rookie of the Year title.

Bonus and contingency awards were presented on behalf of NASCAR, Bond Auto Parts, Central Vermont Motorcycles, Portland Glass, Five Star Race Car Bodies, Shiley Fabrication, Crazy Horse Racing, and American Racer Tires. As the top performing driver under the age of 18, Forrest was named the winner of NASCAR's Youth Achievement Award for both track surfaces; he collected two plaques, two bonuses of $500 cash, and two $500 scholarships to The University of Northwestern Ohio.

Devil's Bowl Speedway's 51^st season of racing will once again feature NASCAR Whelen All-American Series action on the Asphalt Track primarily on Saturday nights and on the Dirt Track primarily on Sunday nights in 2017.
