Le pilote NASCAR Xfinity Alex Labbé en piste au GP3R
 
Victoriaville, le 19 juillet 2018 - Il manque un joyau à la couronne du champion 2017 de la série NASCAR Pinty’s, Alex Labbé : une victoire au GP3R. Alex Labbé désire tellement cette victoire qu’il est prêt à partir de l’arrière du peloton le dimanche 12 août prochain pour tenter de remporter Le 50 tours Can-Am.
 
Labbé, 25 ans, a remporté le championnat en NASCAR Pinty’s l’an dernier et a depuis gradué dans la deuxième série nationale NASCAR aux États-Unis, la NASCAR Xfinity. Engagé dans cette série le samedi 11 août après-midi sur le circuit de Mid-Ohio, le pilote de Saint-Albert reviendra en avion quelques heures seulement avant de prendre le volant d’une Chevrolet n° 36 préparée par la réputée équipe de Dave Jacombs.
 
La course du GP3R sera également l’occasion pour ce pilote de la relève, très expérimenté sur ovale, de perfectionner son coup de volant en circuit routier. En effet, Labbé est passé près à quelques reprises de remporter les grands honneurs sur ce type de tracé, mais n’a jamais pu mettre la main sur une victoire en stock-car sur une piste qui tourne à gauche ET à droite.
 
« Je cours chaque année à Trois-Rivières depuis 2012, a dit Labbé. Chaque saison, c’est l’événement de la série NASCAR Pinty’s qu’on encerclait sur le calendrier. Ce sera assurément un beau défi de prendre le départ de l’arrière, et je suis heureux de revenir devant mes partisans, surtout au volant d’une voiture de l’équipe avec qui j’ai gagné le championnat. »
 
Un groupe d’hommes d’affaires de la région de Victoriaville veut lui offrir cette chance d’aller chercher cette victoire tant attendue. L’initiative est pilotée par Sylvain Roy, président du Groupe Roy Auto. 
 
« Nous avons la chance d’avoir près de nous un Québécois qui a fait sa place jusque dans les séries nationales aux États-Unis, et nous en sommes fiers. Mais on veut aussi le voir courir chez nous et c’est pourquoi nous avons pris cette initiative de le faire courir au GP3R », a mentionné M. Roy.
 
Déjà, l’Hôtel Le Concorde et FestiDrag.tv ont décidé de vivre l’aventure. Sylvain Roy continue sa recherche de partenaires.
 
La tâche ne sera pas facile pour Alex Labbé, lui qui devra dépasser Alex Tagliani, Kevin Lacroix, Jean-François Dumoulin ainsi que Marc-Antoine Camirand. Il trouvera aussi sur son chemin les meneurs ex aequo au championnat, Andrew Ranger et Louis-Philippe Dumoulin. Ce dernier compte déjà une victoire cette saison, au Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, tandis que Ranger a remporté la dernière course au Honda Indy de Toronto le week-end dernier, sa deuxième victoire en autant d’épreuves.
 
Dominic Fugère, directeur général du Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières, s’est immédiatement enflammé en apprenant qu’Alex Labbé effectuerait un retour dans les rues de Trois-Rivières.
 
« La présence d’un régulier de la série NASCAR Xfinity comme Alex est un éloquent témoignage de la réputation de notre événement. Nous considérons Alex comme un des nôtres. Son arrivée dans le peloton ajoutera une bonne dose de piquant à un plat déjà bien relevé », a-t-il indiqué.
 
Alex Labbé sera en piste ce week-end au New Hampshire Motor Speedway où il défendra les couleurs de l’écurie AM Prime dans la Chevrolet n° 32. DONALD THEETGE FINISHES TOP TEN IN PINTYS GRAND PRIX OF TORONTO

TORONTO, ON, Sunday July 15, 2018:  Donald Theetge had a goal in mind when he came to Toronto for the Pinty's Grand Prix, event number 4 in the NASCAR Pinty's Series championship.  This would be Theetges first appearance on the streets of Toronto since 2003 in the CASCAR Super Series and a lot had changed in the ensuing 15 years. 

Theetge, driver of the #24 Mercedes-Benz St. Nicolas/Circuit Acura Camaro took to the track for Friday mornings practice session with optimism and the goal was to run as many laps as possible to get comfortable in the car on the 1.755-mile, 11 turn streetcourse.  They were able to score consistent laps within the top 15 and the team would then go on to qualify in 14th for the 35-lap race on Saturday.
 
At the drop of the green and with starting on the outside lane, Theetge initially dropped back to 17th but was quickly able to move back into the top twelve.  During the final 20 laps Theetge would battle between 10th and 12th with several other drivers but when the checkered flag waved he had passed additional competitors to post an impressive 9th place finish.
 
 "I had a goal when coming to Toronto and that was to finish in the top eight and gain valuable championship points prior to heading out west," said Theetge.  "While we finished slightly outside of that in 9th I am still really pleased with our day.  The car was good, and we raced with a lot of drivers out there all day and the car still looks great.  A good accomplishment today for our team."
 
Donald Theetge and his Mercedes-Benz/Circuit Acura team are scored in 8th in the NASCAR championship standings, 32 points out of the lead position.
 
The Pinty's Grand Prix on the streets of Toronto will air on TSN2 on Saturday July 21st at 2:30 p.m. ET and on RDS2 on Tuesday July 31st at 10:30 p.m. ET.
 
The NASCAR Pinty's Series teams will now head to western Canada for the next two events.  Wyant Group Raceway will host the series only mid-week event on Wednesday July 25thwith twin 125 lap dual championship races.

C'est samedi le 21 juillet prochain aux alentours de 20h30  que s'élanceront les pilotes de la Série CSCC, Championnat de Stock Car Canadien sur l'ovale de Montmagny Speedway dans le cadre du Café Cosmos 200.

Les pilotes présents se partageront au-delà de 30,000$ en bourse dont 3,000$ au vainqueur. Le détenteur de la 2ième position aura droit à 2,000$, suivi de 1,400$, 1,200$ et 1,000$ au cinquième. Tous sont garantis d'une bourse de 650$.  Est-ce que l'attrait de ces bourses amènera plus de voitures en piste? Quelques pilotes préfèrent les grosses bourses! Nous aurons la réponse  dans les prochains jours et plus précisément sur place samedi prochain.

Jean-François Déry de Québec, qui occupe la 8ième position au classement avec une course en moins, réussira-t-il un triplé en ligne suite à ses victoires à Montmagny le 25 juin et à St-Eustache le 7 juillet? Il n'aura pas la tâche facile car le meneur au classement de cette Série, Dany Trépanier de St-Édouard ne lui laissera pas la chance de s'échapper et va tout donner pour le talonner de près tout au cours de cette finale. Il en est de même pour les Pier-Luc Ouellette, Jonathan Bouvrette et Patrick Cliche qui voudront profiter de ce 200 tours pour remporter leur 1ière victoire de la saison.

A ne pas négliger les Kingsbury, Goulet, Bergeron, Roussin, Perreault, Vachon, M.A. Cliche, Gaudreault, Latulippe, Boyer, Poulin et autres qui vont y mettre du piquant et peut-être brouiller les cartes afin d'atteindre une marche sur le podium.

Un 200 tours rempli d'action, de stratégie et de vitesse.

PROCAM SUPER TRUCK TRANSPORT LAURHÉAL

Une finale de 50 tours attend les rapides camionnettes de la Série Procam Super Truck. Seulement trois points séparent Stéphane Lecours # 100,5 de Lac Etchemin(417) du meneur Steve Simoneau #46 de Québec(420). Martin Bisson#26 de Saints-Anges occupe le 3ième rang avec 403 points, suivi de Jimmy Roy à 400 et Réjean Blanchet à 395.

Une finale qui promet et les Lavigne, Lemieux et Cie n'ont pas dit leur dernier mot!

Autre finale de 50 tours avec l'excitante classe Sport Compact Élite avec les Maxime Gagné #17 de Montmagny  qui va tout faire pour rejoindre son beau-frère Steve Godbout # 75 de Québec, meneur au Classement avec 15 points de priorité. Marc- Antoine Carrier #76 de St-Fabien de Panet suit à 2 points de Gagné. Gabriel Linteau de Pont-Rouge, Tommy Larouche de St-Renée de Bellechasse et Pascal Turgeon suivent avec seulement quelques points de différence.

RAPHAËL LESSARD REMPORTE LA 52e ÉDITION DU REDBUD 400

Anderson, Indiana, le mardi 17 juillet, 2018 -  Raphaël Lessard signe sa deuxième victoire de la saison lors de la 52ème édition du Parallax Power Supply RedBud 400 au Anderson Speedway à Anderson, Indiana. C'est lors d'une course de 400 tours dans la série ARCA/CRA que Lessard s'est imposé dans le peloton des meneurs toute l'épreuve.

 En raison de la pluie, les places de départ ont été attribuées en fonction des temps de la dernière pratique d'hier. Le pilote natif de Saint-Joseph-de-Beauce ne s'est pas contenté de sa 12ème place alors qu'il se hissait déjà dans le top 3 au 53ème tour.

La voiture Toyota Camry #51 FRL Express/Mobil 1/Toyota de Kyle Busch Motorsports (KBM) était performante mais il y avait encore place à amélioration et l'équipe a travaillé très fort durant la course pour améliorer la voiture.

Bien que l'épreuve fut ponctuée d'une dizaine de neutralisations, ceci n'a pas dérangé Raphaël qui est resté fixé sur son objectif premier; remporter le RedBud 400, une course qu'il aurait dû remporter l'an dernier.

 Ce ne fut tout de même pas une course gagnée d'avance pour le pilote membre du programme de développement de Toyota (TRD) qui a joué du coude avec plusieurs pilotes dans le peloton des meneurs. Restant toujours respectueux, mais ne laissant pas sa place, Lessard a été le clou du spectacle à bien des égards durant cette épreuve de 400 tours.

Après s'être hissé à la tête du peloton une première fois après 283 tours, Lessard n'avait plus rien à prouver, s'échappant de la deuxième voiture avec plus d'une seconde d'avance.

 Par contre une dernière relance avec seulement 4 tours à faire est venue donner un défi de plus à Lessard. Bien que Stephen Nasse se soit essayé lors du dernier drapeau vert, Lessard n'a mis qu'un seul tour à retrouver sa cadence et de s'emparer de la victoire avec une bonne avance.

 « Ça n'aura pas été une épreuve sans action! L'équipe Kyle Busch Motorsports a travaillé d'arrache-pied durant la course pour me permettre ma deuxième victoire de la saison! Mon but premier était de remporter l'épreuve, mon deuxième but était de rester en piste et hors de danger. J'aimerais remercier mes commanditaires Mobil 1, FRL Express, Toyota et Kyle Busch Motorsports. Également mes parents, mes investisseurs, sans qui je ne pourrais poursuivre ma carrière, mon agent Robert Desrosiers et tous ceux qui se sont déplacés à La Cage et au Resto l'Express ainsi que mes partisans. La course a débuté en retard, mais je pense que le spectacle en a valu la peine! »

 La prochaine course de Raphaël Lessard sera le 4 août prochain en territoire connu au Hickory Motor Speedway, à Newton en Caroline du Nord, dans le cadre du Throwback 276 dans la série CARS Tour.

Canadian Legend Car Asphalt Nationals Champion Crowned at Peterborough Speedway

The finale for the inaugural running of the Canadian Legend Car Asphalt Nationals was the featured attraction – Saturday, July 14th– at Peterborough Speedway. Also the program were the home track Battlefield Equipment Rental Bone Stock, Jiffy Lube Mini Stock and Late Model divisions. Timed spectator laps for King of the Hill took to the track during intermission.

 

Kyle Novis and Jack Hannah brought the 26 car Battlefield Equipment Rental Bone Stock starting field to the line for their 20 lap main event. Hannah took the early lead, with a 3-wide battle for 2nd place going on in his mirror, as Sean Kennedy settled-in to the runner-up spot. The race's first yellow flag flew for a second turn incident with 3 laps on the scoreboard. A 5-way clash for the lead went to Kennedy on the 7th lap and he began catching the tail of the field close to handful of circuits later. Chris Tubman and Ryan Oosterholt fought over 2nd, with the #88 machine taking the position as Kennedy claimed his first win of the year. Jeremy Kelly and Alex McGibbon rounded-out the top 5.

 

Bone Stock heat races went to Oosterholt with a pair, Ben Gruntz, Shawn Solomon, Tubman and Kennedy.

 

With 30 laps to settle the score, the Late Model division rolled from the staging area with a pair of former track champions – Amanda Balson and Dan McHattie – on the front row. McHattie snatched the lead from his outside front-row starting spot, with Chris Mitchell working on Mike Wallace to see who'd be next in line. The leaders began to put the backmarkers a lap down with a dozen laps on the board and Mitchell finally wrestled the second spot from Wallace with 20 complete. A couple of late race yellow flags couldn't deny McHattie from another hometown win. Reigning Lucas Oil Sportsman Cup Series rookie of the year Connor James was 3rd, with James Horner and Wallace following the lead trio to the stripe.

 

Mitchell, Horner, Balson and McHattie took Late Model qualifier wins.

 

Girl power – in the form of Ember Junkin and Tiffany Vandebelt – paced the Jiffy Lube Mini Stocks to the Great Canadian RV green flag. A caution on the initial start delayed things, but Junkin moved-out to an early lead and caught the back of the pack with around 5 laps on the board. A yellow flag for a front stretch incident with 7 complete slowed the pace again and saw Josh Bullen take the lead on the restart. The driver of the #66 Mustang was having a great run, but then Ryan Oosterholt stole the position away and never looked back. Bullen held-on for a 2nd place finish. Nolan Gould, Junkin and Miles Tyson took the next 3 spots.

 

Oosterholt had a couple of Mini Stock heat wins, with the others going to Kevin Strutt and James Townsend.

 

With the goal of being crowned the first-ever Canadian Legend Car Asphalt Nationals champion, 23 teams took the green flag with a pair of U.S. invaders – Alex McCollum and Noah Korner – on the front row. After a quick yellow flag called-off the initial start, Korner and Nick Ledson took control of things, while McCollum slipped to 7th. The lead duo was joined by Matt Haufe in a 3-car breakaway, with Korner taking a 6 car length advantage and Haufe moving into 2nd by lap 16. A caution for a first turn issue a lap later gave everyone a chance to catch their breath and regroup for the second half of the race. A hard-charging Dave Riopelle moved into 5th on lap 20, but a red flag caused by Cole McFadden's untimely fireball created a lengthy delay. With Ledson looking for the lead after the restart, a final yellow flag – with just a couple of laps remaining – slowed the pace. Korner, who had led from the drop of the green picked-up the win. Nick Ledson, McCollum, Haufe and Cole Ledson rounded-out the top 5.

 

Nick Ledson, Korner and Haufe won the Legends Series heat races, while Nick Ledson set fast time in the pre-race qualifying session.

 

All main event finishes are unofficial and subject to scoring review, as well as post-race safety and technical inspection.

 

Bullring bullet points: Darlene James of Bradford, Ontario claimed the winner's share of nearly $572.00 in the Millbrook Lions 50/50 draw…Larry Crowe Jr. took home the bragging rights with a lap of 16.50 in his street legal 2018 Dodge Demon, during King of the Hill…Former Late Model track champion Bryan Sudsbury returned to action, wheeling the #15 Mini Stock, while Sunset Speedway regulars Paul Maltese and Connor James came to play in the Late Model ranks…Weather conditions caused track officials some concern. A heavy shower before the gates opened washed away any rubber, while a brief period of rain delayed some practice rounds. The highway just minutes from the track showed evidence of Mother Nature's power, but the full show went into the record book in just over 4 hours.

 

Racing at Canada's Toughest 3rd of a Mile Paved Oval continues Saturday, July 21st with the Mid-Summer Bash, presented by Country 105. Coming into the weekend, its unlikely that Noah Korner had ever heard of Kawartha or Peterborough Speedways, but after his stellar performance at the inaugural running of the Canadian Legend Car Asphalt Nationals – presented by Trailers Plus – the Bloomfield, Connecticut native will never forget his maiden racing voyage on Canadian soil.

 

Starting alongside fellow U.S. invader Alex McCollum on the front row, Korner set off into battle. After a quick yellow flag called-off the initial start, Korner and Nick Ledson – who was making his second start of the weekend in Jeff Drimmie's #44 machine – took control of things, while McCollum slipped to 7th. The lead duo was joined by Matt Haufe in a 3-car breakaway, with Korner taking a 6 car length advantage and Haufe moving into 2nd by lap 16. A caution for a first turn issue a lap later gave everyone a chance to catch their breath and regroup for the second half of the race.

 

A hard-charging Dave Riopelle had moved into 5th on lap 20, but a red flag caused by Cole McFadden's untimely fireball that started with a smoking engine created a lengthy delay for track clean-up. With Ledson looking for the lead after the restart, a final yellow flag – with just a couple of laps remaining – slowed the pace.  Toronto (Ontario, Canada), le 15 juillet 2018 – Le week-end a débuté avec l'annonce du prolongement de l'entente pour les trois prochaines saisons avec notre partenaire majeur WeatherTech Canada (vendredi 13 juillet). Il va sans dire que Louis-Philippe Dumoulin et l'ensemble de l'équipe #47 WeatherTech Canada | Groupe Bellemare étaient plus que motivés à rouler dans le peloton de tête. Septième sur la grille de départ, Louis-Philippe Dumoulin a défendu sa position sans relâche tout au long des 35 tours du Grand Prix Pinty's de Toronto. Dès le huitième tour de piste, Louis-Philippe Dumoulin s'est hissé en cinquième position jusqu'au fil d'arrivée, ne laissant aucune ouverture aux dépassements. Exæquo avec la première place au classement des pilotes, le Québécois se positionne en force pour les trois épreuves dans l'Ouest canadien.
 
« Se battre pour la victoire était possible si nous avions pris le départ sur la première ligne. La voiture #47WeatherTech Canada | Groupe Bellemare était légèrement survireuse, les premier et second rapports de boîte me ralentissaient en sortie de virage ainsi que lors des relances. La victoire en Pinty's exige la perfection – rien de moins, et un peu de chance. Le calibre de l'équipe est grandement potentialisé cette année et nous compétitionnons pour le championnat. Que du positif! », mentionne Louis-Philippe, pilote de la voiture #47 WeatherTech Canada | Groupe Bellemare.

Louis-Philippe Dumoulin participera à une séance d'autographes organisée par notre partenaire, le Delta Bessborough, le lundi 23 juillet entre 16h30 et 17h30. Entry List For 45th Annual Oxford 250 Reaches Milestone

NAPLES, ME (July 16) – The entry list for the most prestigious asphalt short track race in America reached a major milestone over the weekend. With still over a month to go before the green flag drops, there are now over 50 Pro All Stars Series (PASS) Super Late Model entries for the 45th Annual Oxford 250 at Oxford Plains Speedway in August.  East Parsonsfield, ME's Trevor Sanborn is the 50th official entrant, while two-time Oxford 250 winner, Eddie MacDonald, has actually pushed the number of drivers entered to date to 51.  Competitors will have the opportunity the race for the richest winner's purse in asphalt short track racing, with $25,000 to win, plus an additional $25,000 in lap leader money.  Last year's winner, Curtis Gerry, took home over $31,000 last year for his efforts.

This year's entry lists features some of the best short track racers in North America, including former Oxford 250 winners', Mike and Ben Rowe, Travis Benjamin, Wayne Helliwell, Jr., Joey Polewarcyzk, Curtis Gerry, and Scott Robbins.  Former PASS champions, Johnny Clark, DJ Shaw, Cassius Clark, Joey Doiron, and Tate Fogleman have also entered, along with PASS National championship contenders, Derek Griffith, Kodie Conner, Ray Christian, III, and Jimmy Renfrew, Jr.  The Canadian Maritimes are also being represented by Cole Butcher, Kyle Reid, and Lonnie Sommerville.

            "The Roads To Oxford and Richmond" program will be concluding in the next few weeks.  Racers have the opportunity to not only get locked into the 45th Annual Oxford 250, but also the inaugural PASS Commonwealth Classic, which will be held at Richmond Raceway in October.  PASS South drivers will have their final opportunity of the year to get locked in to Oxford or Richmond in the 12th Annual Orange Blossom Special at Orange County Speedway this weekend.  The final chance for the New England contingent will be held at Oxford Plains Speedway on Sunday, July 29th.

Entry forms for the 45th Annual Oxford 250 and inaugural PASS Commonwealth Classic, along with pit stall reservations for Richmond, are available at ProAllStarsSeries.com.  Entry forms are also available for the "Road To Oxford & Richmond" qualifiers at Orange County Speedway and Oxford Plains Speedway.

DIRTcar Pro Stocks Cross Paths at Lebanon Valley Speedway




Lebanon Valley Speedway Hosts DIRTcar Pro Stock Series for 30 Lap Feature

CONCORD, NC – July 16, 2018 – It's Food Bank Night on Saturday, July 21 at Lebanon Valley Speedway when they host the DIRTcar Pro Stock Series for their third Series race of 2018. The first race was won in dramatic fashion by Bruno Cyr and the second takes place Friday, July 20 at Albany-Saratoga Speedway making it a two-night must-see DIRTcar Pro Stock double-header.

The West Lebanon, NY race track supports DIRTcar Pro Stocks racing weekly. Competition at the local level is fierce with 28 Pro Stock drivers making starts already this year. Current Lebanon Valley Speedway points leader Jason Meltz leads Rick Dempsey, Jason Casey, Jon Routhier, and Jay Casey. Veteran Pro Stock driver Rob Yetman runs close behind in sixth. Yetman has won five straight Super DIRT Week Pro Stock Championships, a feat unlikely to ever be broken or even duplicated. The streak stretches over races on the famous New York State Fairgrounds one-mile race track to the The Clay Palace in Oswego, NY.

Hot Laps get underway at approximaly 5:00 PM. As it is Food Bank Night, bring a non-perishable food item and receive $1 off your admission. General admission is $11 for adults, $13 for reserved, and only $2 for kids. All of Lebanon Valley's racing divisions will be in action.

The DIRTcar Pro Stock Series is the only full-fender touring DIRTcar Northeast division. Races are between 30 and 75 laps at tracks all over southeast Canada and the northeast United States. Fans love their hard-racing style as they beat and bang through the corners. Teams pride themselves on showing up at the track with some of the best designed stock car wraps and paint schemes you've ever seen.

The DIRTcar Pro Stocks will go for 75 laps at Super DIRT Week XLVII at Oswego Speedway on Sunday, October 7. However, the Pro Stocks will make their debut at the World Short Track Championship at the Dirt Track at Charolotte Motor Speedway for their 2018 season finale. Alex Tagliani termine deuxième au Grand Prix Pinty's de Toronto, quatrième étape de la série NASCAR Pinty's


Montréal, 14 juillet 2018 - Alex Tagliani a joué un peu de malchance lors de la quatrième étape de la série NASCAR Pinty's disputée samedi sur le circuit urbain d'Exhibition Place dans le centre-ville de Toronto. Parti de la position de tête, récoltée la veille, le pilote de Lachenaie a mené les 35 tours réglementaires du Grand Prix Pinty's de Toronto en plus d'inscrire le tour le plus rapide en course avec sa Chevrolet Camaro EpiPen-RONA-St Hubert, mais un accident de Kevin Lacroix au 30e passage a causé une neutralisation qui a poussé la course en surtemps NASCAR.


C'est finalement à la quatrième relance au 36e tour qu'Andrew Ranger en a profité pour doubler le pilote originaire de Lachenaie et inscrire la victoire. Lors de cette relance, Tagliani s'est également fait doubler par Jean-François Dumoulin, mais au tour suivant, Tagliani a surpris Dumoulin pour terminer deuxième à 1,148 secondes de Ranger. JF Dumoulin a terminé troisième devant l'Ontarien Gary Klutt et Louis-Philippe Dumoulin.


« Mon but c'est la victoire, mais cette deuxième place, je vais la prendre. Terminer deuxième, ajouté au plus grand nombre de tours menés en plus de la position de tête me donnent presque autant de points qu'une victoire, a déclaré Alex Tagliani. Tout de même, j'aurais préféré terminer premier. Mais en fin de compte, je suis heureux d'avoir terminé cette course après l'accrochage dans le premier virage de la dernière relance de la course. Ç'a cogné dur et lorsque j'ai vu la fumée venant du pneu arrière, je me suis dit, pas encore. Je suis donc content d'avoir croisé l'arrivée, car tous les points sont très importants à ce stade-ci de la saison.


« Les trois prochaines courses vont se dérouler sur les ovales de Saskatoon et Edmonton, mais nous savons comment améliorer la voiture après le désastre à l'Autodrome Chaudière. Nous devrions être compétitifs dans l'Ouest canadien. Notre but est de revenir avec le maximum de points. Si nous accomplissons ça, nous serons de sérieux prétendants à la course au championnat des pilotes. Cependant, Andrew Ranger sera un pilote à surveiller. »


Dix-neuf pilotes ont pris le départ sur le circuit urbain de 11 virages d'une longueur de 2,824 kilomètres et 15 ont croisé l'arrivée, dont 14 sur le tour du vainqueur. La course a été neutralisée quatre fois pour un total de 12 tours. L'épreuve du Grand Prix Pinty's de Toronto sera diffusée sur RDS2 le mardi 17 juillet à 22 h 30.


Au championnat des pilotes, Tagliani monte au sixième rang avec 149 points, seulement 18 de moins que le nouveau meneur Andrew Ranger. En 62 départs NASCAR Pinty's, Tagliani a inscrit six victoires, neuf positions de tête, 24 top cinq et 40 top dix.


La série NASCAR Pinty's présentera ses trois prochaines courses dans l'Ouest canadien. Les deux premières auront lieu le mercredi 25 juillet à Saskatoon au Wyant Group Raceway, un programme de deux épreuves de 125 tours, et la troisième course le samedi 28 juillet au Edmonton International Raceway pour un 300 tours en soirée.

Au cours de sa saison de course 2018, Alex Tagliani fait la promotion de la conscientisation aux allergies alimentaires et de la sécurité de ceux qui en sont atteints par l'entremise du lancement de la cinquième campagne « L'été de TAG » : Cuisine sans allergènes pour apprendre à préparer des repas en toute sécurité pour minimiser le risque de contamination croisée. Cette initiative collective a été mise sur pied par Alex et Allergie Alimentaires Canada, avec le soutien de Pfizer Canada.
