INCREDIBLE FEATURE CARS COMING FROM SEMA AND BEYOND TO BE PART OF TORONTO MOTORAMA SHOW

Incredible feature cars from SEMA and beyond will be at Toronto Motorama show

INCREDIBLE FEATURE CARS COMING FROM SEMA
AND BEYOND TO BE PART OF TORONTO MOTORAMA SHOW

March 13, 14 & 15, 2020 at Toronto's International Centre

TORONTO, ON // MARCH 11, 2020 • Although the majority of the vehicles appearing at the 6th Annual Motorama Custom Car & Motorsports Expo are homegrown entries, show car director Gary Challice is always excited to bring in a few 'special' Feature Cars; vehicles that have garnered international attention.

For the 2020 edition of Motorama, running March 13, 14 & 15 at Toronto's International Centre, Challice has arranged for several 'First-Time-Shown in Canada' vehicles, and their builders, to participate.

"We have vehicles coming in from Iowa, New York, the Carolinas and Massachusetts. And all of them have either appeared at SEMA, in Chicago, in Detroit, or in one case, on the Hot Wheels Legends Tour," revealed Challice. "It's nice to bring some cars here thatMotorama visitors might not otherwise have had a chance to see."

Although not eligible to challenge for the $10,000 Motorama Grand Champion prize, all of the American entries will have the opportunity to return home with the 'Stars & Stripes' award, valued at $2,500 USD.

Eddie Pettus (Eddie's Rod & Custom) has been to Motorama on two previous occasions and will return this year with a double-barrelled entry.

"We've got a newly completed 1963 Corvette we're showing off for the first time," announced the Iowa resident. "It's a retro-mod that looks stock, but it has an LT4 motor under the hood coupled to a six-speed transmission. The car is dark blue, has one-off custom wheels and a black, custom leather interior. A real nice car."

Pettus's other project, 'Sugga,' comes directly from the Las Vegas SEMA show and is a little more radical.

"We took a 1956 TP-21 Volvo Swedish military 'taxi cab' and mounted it on a '94 Dodge ¾-ton Dodge 4X4 truck chassis. We jammed a 12-valve, compound-turbo Cummins Diesel, pushing out about 600 horsepower, under the hood and got some great big (37") tires to get the power to the ground. It should be a pretty-good handling, off-roading vehicle."

Another radical build on display at Motorama is Chad (Chad's Custom Dreams) Martin's 'Brutally Sexy.' Starting life as a 1936 Chevy Sedan, Martin rebuilt his all-steel creation "from the chassis up" and the end result is a spectacular 750 horsepower, pearl green and cream, Dually pick-up.

"It's a one-off custom truck I started dreaming about in 1999, and finally, here it is," said Martin.

So unusual is his build that the Southern Carolina native was invited to be a part of the Hot Wheels Legends Tour, a cross-country competition culminating at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas. The goal of the Hot Wheels tour is to declare a grand champion whose vehicle would be recreated in the form of a 1/64 scale Hot Wheels car and available for sale to the public. Although he didn't win first overall, Martin's piece certainly well represented the Hot Wheels legacy.

Another American entry comes from Livonia, NY courtesy of Mike Johnston. His 1935 Ford Coupe is a past Street Rod National East award winner and was featured on the cover of Rodder's Journal magazine.

Not all of the specialty entries come from south of the border, however.

Viv Agresti hails from nearby Bradford, Ontario. His successful farming career allows him to enjoy his custom car hobby. Agresti has previously owned such award winners as a 1956 Nomad, a 1969 Camaro and a 1959 Corvette.

The Corvette was not only an attraction at the SEMA Show, last November, but it was also a part of the backdrop at the Hot Rod Banquet in the Las Vegas Convention Centre. Making its Motorama debut, this stunning car is guaranteed to turn heads at the show.

Concluded Challice, "being able to showcase cars that have been on a international stage, such as SEMA, Syracuse, Detroit or Chicago, really boosts Motorama's reputation. That is not to downplay the Canadian entries, the Canadian builds are on par with anything in the world, but it opens up the doors for increased exposure for all of the car builders.

"Motorama has quickly developed into a very prestigious show; this is where people want to unveil their latest projects. This is where they know their work will be seen on a top tier stage and in front of people who are knowledgeable and appreciative."

In addition to showcasing their vehicles, many of the owners and builders will be participating in the on-stage discussions at Motorama. You can see these and many other incredible cars March 13, 14 & 15 at Toronto's International Centre.

JF LAUNIER: RIDLER WINNER, MOTORAMA GRAND CHAMPION AND REGULAR ON RUST VALLEY RESTORERS, RETURNING TO TORONTO MOTORAMA SHOW

JF Launier from Rust Valley Restorers to appear at Toronto Motorama show

JF LAUNIER: RIDLER WINNER, MOTORAMA GRAND CHAMPION AND
REGULAR ON RUST VALLEY RESTORERS, RETURNING TO TORONTO MOTORAMA SHOW

March 13, 14 & 15, 2020 at Toronto's International Centre

TORONTO, ON // MARCH 6, 2020 • In 2019, JF Launier arrived at the Motorama Custom Car & Motorsports Expo with Anvil, a 1964 Pontiac Acadian. And when it was time to pack up and head back home to Osoyoos, BC, he did so with the Motorama Grand Champion Award and the winner's cheque for $5,000.00.

For the sixth edition of the Motoramashow, running March 13, 14 & 15, 2020 at Toronto's International Centre, Launier will not only be an invited Motorama celebrity guest, but he will also be making another attempt to claim the show's top prize. This year, he's looking to 'a true driver,' a black 1967 GTO built as a feature project on History Channel'sRust Valley Restorers to get him back on the Pinty's Stage on Sunday afternoon, holding another big cheque.

"This car has a few body changes, nothing drastic, and is painted dead black," said Launier. "Under the hood is a big block Chevy and the interior is bright red. With the windows blacked out, this is one sinister looking car!"

When not assisting his Rust Valley Restorers TV co-stars Mike and Avery, Launier – a self-proclaimed 'Imagineer' – owns and manages his own business, JF Kustoms. Operating under the motto 'We build the cars, so you can drive the wheels off of them,' Launier has earned his reputation as one of the top custom builders in the industry.

He shot to stardom in large part thanks to the 1964 Buick Riviera, dubbed 'Rivision,' which won the prestigious Ridler Award at the Detroit Autorama in 2014. That car took more than six years to create and forced Launier to re-mortgage his house to get it done.

The car was later sold at the Barrett-Jackson auction for $290,000. In addition to his big wins at Detroit and Toronto, Launier's previous builds have won 'Best in Show' awards in Europe, in Quebec and across North America.

Never content to rest on his laurels, Launier currently had a shop full of on-going projects.

"We've got a bunch of stuff going on; maybe too much. There's a late '60s Bronco and a Cougar from about the same era, on the floor. We're also working on 1965 Acadian. There are also a couple of top-secret projects tucked away."

When not taking part in various discussion panels and VIP Meet & Greet sessions at this year's Motorama show, Launier will be holding court in the Rousseau Metals / FestiDrag and SilverWax displays, in Hall 1. The booth will also feature a van built by Chip Foose and a Toolkit, courtesy of Rousseau Metals, that will be awarded to one lucky showgoer at Motorama.

"I connected with Rousseau at SEMA and saw that they had a great line of products. I wanted to work with them because I believe in supporting Canadian companies. That's the same reason I work with SilverWax. They're based in Quebec and I have faith in their product line, as well. I won't trust my work to just any detailing products."

Launier admitted to being excited about coming 'back to the east' to be part of the 2020Motorama show. "Last year, we came away from Quebec (Sports Auto Show) with the 'Best in Class' and 'Most Outstanding Street Machine' awards. We won a Great 8 award in Detroit. And then we came to Motorama and won the Grand Champion Award. I don't know if we can repeat that this year, but it's always a lot fun to meet with the Ontario fans and to share their stories and memories of their custom cars. This might just become a tradition!"

TORONTO, ON // MARCH 10, 2020 • There will be constant action and activity throughout the 330,000 square feet of space that make up the sixth annualMotorama Custom Car & Motorsports Expo. But nowhere will be busier than thePinty's Stage, located in the southeast corner of Hall 2 at Toronto's International Centre. The show takes place March 13, 14 & 15.

Throughout the years, at Motorama, the Pinty's Stage has given showgoers access to many automotive and racing celebrities, including Richard Petty, Bobby Allison, Ron Capps, Billy Gibbons, Steve Darnell, Gene Winfield, Tom Smith, Courtney Hansen and many others.

This year, Chip Foose, Constance Nunes, Grant Schwartz, JF Launier, Ron Gibbs and others will be added to this prestigious list.

The Pinty's Stage also plays host to the huge Fast Eddie Racewear Short Track and Drag Racing Night of Champions, on the Saturday night of Motorama. This incredible event honours Canadian short track and straight-line racers who won season-long track or series championships the preceding year.

More than 125 champions are expected to take part in this year's presentations, which the promoters believe is unique and unequalled when it comes to celebrating the achievements of so many racing champions at a single time and place.

The Pinty's Stage will once again be the place to be for the SEMA & Featured Builders, Celebrity Guest, Drag Racing, Meet the Media and Hot Rod Builders panel discussions. Car show awards presentations will take place there Saturday at 2 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m. And Chip Foose will be on the Pinty's Stage to interact with fans on both Saturday and Sunday.

And in another first for the Pinty's Stage, Friday night's Motorama Kick-Off Party will be located on the show's main stage. During the proceedings, the show's celebrity guests, sponsors and featured builders will be recognized prior to the surf band Mark Malibu & The Wasagasentertaining the crowd for the evening.

"So many of our partners and customers are involved in the racing and automotive enthusiast communities that it's a great opportunity for us to connect with them and be part of a show that celebrates things that we're all passionate about. It also lets us showcase some of our new initiatives, like the Pinty's Man Cave line of wings and ribs products."

Speaking on behalf of the show, Greg MacPherson said, "Pinty's is an incredible supporter of Canadian racing through its sponsorship of the NASCAR Pinty's Series and events like the history-making Pinty's 100 at Ohsweken Speedway, the season-ending Pinty's Fall Brawl at Jukasa Motor Speedway and other big races. 2020 OMRS Schedule to be Released at the Motorama Expo

2020 OMRS Schedule to be Released at the Motorama Expo

By Jim Clarke, Clarke Motorsports Communications/First Draft Media

Winter's legendary grasp becomes a little less intrusive with each passing day. Before long, the calendar will be flipped to unveil the start of another season of hometown racing action. Fans of the Ontario Modifieds Racing Series will have the chance to get their first look at the upcoming schedule by visiting the series' booth #2006, located in the Stonebridge Racing Zone in Hall #1 during the Motorama Custom Car and Motorsports Expo – March 13th through 15th – at the International Centre in Toronto. OMRS spokesperson Rick Warnes says everyone in the tour's camp is excited about being part of the season preview.

"Since its inception, this show has been one of the racing community's most popular annual attractions. There's so much to see and we're looking forward to being there," Rick Warnes said. "Rick Sharples and the team at Yesterday's Speedways have been good friends and supporters of the Ontario Modifieds Racing Series brand since our days at Mosport, so its great to be able to join forces with them for this event."

In addition to making the 2020 schedule available, Warnes pointed out that series officials will be on hand at the show to answer questions about the upcoming season. Current rookie of the year Alex Cuzzilla and reigning series champion John Baker Jr. will man the OMRS booth at various times throughout the weekend to greet fans and sign autographs.

This will be a season of change in the Ontario Modifieds Racing Series camp, as the group begins a new era since the passing of former driver and long-time official Bill Pickford. Late last year, the tour's logo was redesigned to show Pickford's familiar #61 Modified and the new season's calendar will be dedicated to his memory.

Contingency sponsors Gen 3 Electrical, Borque Transmission, Thinkpath Design, Conview Concrete, Sterling Tire and Clarke Motorsports Communications will support the series in 2020.

To learn more about the Ontario Modifieds Racing Series visit the group's social media platform, www.facebook.com/OMRS or look for the newly redesigned web-site www.ontariomodifiedsracing.com.

NEW TRUCK-O-RAMA FEATURE TO DEBUT AT THE TORONTO MOTORAMA SHOW

New Truck-O-Rama feature to debut at Toronto Motorama Show

NEW TRUCK-O-RAMA FEATURE TO DEBUT
AT THE TORONTO MOTORAMA SHOW

March 13, 14 & 15, 2020 at Toronto's International Centre

TORONTO, ON // MARCH 6, 2020 • When you consider that the top three best-selling vehicles in North America are pickup trucks, it's not a surprise that it's a growing trend that many of them end up as highly modified show and street projects.

This trend has led to the creation ofTruck-O-Rama, the newest feature attraction at the Motorama Custom Car & Motorsports Expo. The 6th annual edition runs March 13, 14 & 15 at Toronto's International Centre.

Said Roger Lachance, the owner of sponsor and award presenter Auto FX Rims Tires & Performance, "Motorama has been showcasing the highest quality cars for years, and we knew that it would be the place to showcase the highest quality trucks, as well. We knew that Truck-O-Rama was the right place to focus our energy."

Over two dozen trucks of all configurations and sizes will be featured in Hall 2, each entry vying for not onlyMotorama awards, but also presentation and workmanship awards courtesy of Hamilton, Ontario's Auto FX.

"The judges will be looking for originality and craftsmanship, as well as design and balance of appearance," continued Lachance. "Things like colour combinations and flow. Just bolting on a bunch of shiny pieces won't cut it. We want guys to be building quality vehicles to match the trends of the hobby."

In this inaugural year of Truck-O-Rama, Auto FX will be bringing a total of five vehicles to Motorama, all of them daily drivers "showcasing some of the projects we get through our doors."

Noted Lachance, "These will be everyday vehicles that our customers have loaned us for the show. The most outrageous one we'll showcase is a 2020 Ram 3500 Mega Cab. That one has the biggest wheels that we could install on a dually; 28 inches. The wheels alone cost almost $20,000. Another truck we'll have on the floor is a custom-built Tow Truck, a real working vehicle."

Added show car coordinator Gary Challice, "Although customized trucks will be featured throughout Motorama, we're trying to encompass a wide variety of them in the Truck-O-Rama display.

"I think the oldest truck in the display is a 1929, and then we'll carry right on to the latest makes and models. We've got an S10 Slammer, an ultimate lowrider, right up to a Monster Truck and everything in between. We're making this year's display an indication of things to come in the future forTruck-O-Rama."

Alongside the examples of finished projects, Truck-O-Rama will share floor space with a line up of associated vendors with product lines ranging from wheels and tires, lift and lowering kits, performance parts, aftermarket audio/video systems, and related 4x4 accessories.

"What we're really excited about is a giveaway we're putting together with the No Club Car Club," continued Lachance. "At various times during Motorama, people will have a chance to win a key to unlock a trunk that will be at the No Club season closer at St. Thomas Dragway in September. The grand prize winner will win a truck build with help from Auto FX and our associate suppliers."

Lachance concluded, "Looking forward, we plan to stay involved and help promote the Truck-O-Rama feature until it is the biggest and most exciting part of Motorama!"

CONSTANCE NUNES FROM THE NETFLIX SHOW CAR MASTERS: RUST TO RICHES TO APPEAR AT MOTORAMA

CONSTANCE NUNES FROM THE NETFLIX
SHOW CAR MASTERS: RUST TO RICHES
TO APPEAR AT MOTORAMA

March 13, 14 & 15, 2020 at Toronto's International Centre

TORONTO, ON // MARCH 9, 2020 • Constance Nunes, one of the stars of the Netflix TV show CAR MASTERS: Rust to Riches will be at the Motorama Custom Car & Motorsports Expo Saturday and Sunday (March 14 & 15). An engine specialist who grew up hanging around and working at her father's garage in southern California, Nunes also has a passion for racing which she acquired at racetracks in the area, while cheering on her dad.

With more than 15 years experience in the automotive industry, Nunes is the lead mechanic at Gotham Garagewhere they build unique, specialty cars for the Netflix original series, which recently completed shooting its second season. It begins airing in Canada on March 27.

In addition to her TV show, Nunes also has a long resume working for some of the biggest companies in the automotive industry, in commercials and at trade shows like SEMA (Las Vegas) and the Performance Racing Industry show (Indianapolis). Last year, she made history by being the first woman to be featured in one of Edelbrock's national television commercials.

Like her father, Ernie, Constance has a passion for racing and she's competed in several high-profile events including Targa Trophy and The Gumball 3000 Rally.

"My dad had a car shop when I was little – and he still has it to this day. He grew up building cars and drag racing, so I basically spent my childhood around cars and at the dragstrip. So, I always pictured myself doing what he did. Although I thought I'd be more 'behind the wheel' than it ended up being. But while I focussed on building, early on, I've recently had an opportunity to do more racing. I've always loved driving fast cars and technical driving. And lately, I've gotten into off-road racing a bit more."

Nunes is known for specializing in classic and hot rod restorations. And she has a special place in her heart for classic Mustangs. Her personal favourite is a 1964.5 she calls 'Babystang.' She's owned and worked on the car for 15 years. Babystang is regularly featured on Constance's Instagram feed (constance_nunes), which has over 405,000 followers.

One of her motivations is encouraging and inspiring young builders and automotive enthusiasts – especially female ones – to follow their passion as far as it takes them, whether that's a lifelong hobby or a career. She also hopes to serve as an example that people don't have to limit themselves to 'one lane' within the industry. Similarly, Constance enjoys breaking the mold in terms of being a hard-working mechanic who is also ultra-feminine.

"I'm really looking forward to coming to Toronto for Motorama," said Nunes. "CAR MASTERS: Rust to Riches is on Netflix in Canada so I know a lot of people are familiar with the show. I was in Canada once a long time ago, but I've never been to Toronto."

At Motorama, Constance will be participating in a number of different activities. She'll be meeting with car enthusiasts and fans at various booth locations around the show, on Saturday and Sunday. She'll also be taking part in on-stage discussions and awards presentations and participating in the VIP Meet & Greet Sessions on Saturday and Sunday, in Room #102 in Hall 1, along with Chip Foose, JF Launier, Grant Schwartz and artist Ron Gibbs.

For admission and VIP Meet & Greet tickets, as well as a detailed listing of Constance's appearance times, check the schedule page atwww.MotoramaShow.com. The sixth annual Motorama show takes place March 13, 14 & 15 at The International Centre, across from Toronto's Pearson Airport.
