The 39th Mohawk Casino Fall Foliage 300 goes Sunday, September 12 along with the DIRTcar Modified Apple Bowl 100 and championship events for the Sportsman and Renegade divisions.
Airborne track champions for the four-cylinder Mini-Modified and Bomber divisions will be determined by 25-lap features Saturday, September 11. Sportsman and Renegade qualifying heats and ACT Late Model and Modified practice will also take place Saturday.
The Steve Park Driving Experience will be on the premises for two-seater race car rides on a pre-registration basis Friday, September 10 from 5 –6 p.m. and Saturday September 11 from 10 a.m.-noon. To register, call the race track office –518-561-3208.
Airborne has arranged for a bus trip to the Mohawk Casino that departs from the track at 6 p.m. Saturday, September 11 and returns at midnight. The $25 cost includes a $15 slot play voucher and a $7 meal voucher. Space is limited – call the track office to reserve a seat. Saturday evening live musical entertainment will perform on the race track grounds from 8-10 pm. Overnight Fall Foliage weekend camping is available.
The Fall Foliage 300 has a posted purse of $36,650. It is ACT’s longest distance event and one of its most prestigious. It is the last chance to earn a guaranteed spot in the 2nd annual ACT Invitational at New Hampshire Motor Speedway September 18. The DIRTcar Modified event, the Apple Bowl 100 presented by Liquor & Wine Warehouse, Casella Waste Management and UniFirst, equals the longest Modified race of the year to date, which was won by defending track champion Martin Roy of Napierville, Quebec.
Last year, Patrick Laperle of St. Denis, Quebec won the Fall Foliage 300 and joined Bobby Dragon, Butch Lindley, Robbie Crouch, Brian Hoar and Kenny Tremont Jr on the multiple winners list. Hoar is the defending ACT champion and current point leader.
