Peterborough Speedway Celebrates a Successful Season of Home Track Racing

Central Ontario race fans were treated to great value for their motorsport’s entertainment dollar during the 2026 schedule at Peterborough Speedway. From the year’s first Great Canadian RV green flag, the popular venue on Mount Pleasant Road lived up to its reputation of ‘Making Memories for Life’.
With new additions in nearly every weekly division track staff, officials and fans have been singing the praises of the recently completed season. Counting only the weekly classes, nearly 140 different racers signed in to tackle the tight, tricky 3rd mile oval on Mount Pleasant Road. Along the way, a few – including Zachary Cheng, Paul Boundy, James Townsend and Tegan Stanley – found time to run in multiple classes.
“As Peterborough Speedway approaches its 60th anniversary season, we’re happy to have a strong team in place on both sides of the fence,” said track owner and promoter J.P. Josiasse. “Our weekly staff and drivers continue to make this a great place to race and our promotional team has already started work on some exciting ideas for the 2027 line-up.”

Before the 6th decade of short track excitement leaves the starting line next spring, the home track crew will focus its attention on the 33rd edition of the B&G Towing and Recovery Autumn Colours Classic. The first night of action takes centre stage starting Friday, October 9th with opening round qualifying for the Battlefield Equipment Rental Bone Stock, SwitchTire Mini Stock and Super Stock fields, plus GEN3 Electrical SportsMods and Trailers Plus Ontario Legend Cars. Grandstands open at 5:00, with racing at 6:00.
Follow the crowds to Peterborough Speedway, with race action continuing throughout the Thanksgiving Weekend and close to a dozen different classes in competition. First time visitors are reminded that the track is a ‘cash only’ facility, with an ATM available behind the main grandstand. Anyone entering the pit area is required to produce a completed speed waiver for verification.

Zachary Cheng picked up his first career Bone Stock feature wins and ran his No. 39 machine as a Mini Stock late in the 2026 Peterborough Speedway regular season.
In addition to campaigning the No. 23 Honda in the Mini Stock ranks, hometown racer Tegan Stanley also turned his first laps in the No. 44 Late Model this season at Peterborough Speedway.
2025 track champion Paul Boundy was back in action at the controls of the No. 08 Super Stock and Renegade Truck during this year’s regular season line up at Peterborough Speedway.
