DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Jan. 23, 2014) – A brother, a contemporary, a rival, a colleague and a friend will all take the stage to induct this year's Class of 2014 into the NASCAR Hall of Fame.

Richard Petty, Waddell Wilson, Harry Gant, Humpy Wheeler and Blake Shelton will induct the fifth class – Maurice Petty, Fireball Roberts, Jack Ingram, Tim Flock and Dale Jarrett – on Wednesday, Jan. 29 at the NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlotte, N.C.

The five legends, who account for 15 NASCAR championships, will also be joined on stage by five current stars, combining for 15 national series championships of their own. Aric Almirola, Jeff Gordon, Kevin Harvick, Jimmie Johnson and Tony Stewart will all take part in the evening's festivities.

The Induction Ceremony begins at 7 p.m. ET and will air live on FOX Sports 1, Motor Racing Network and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio. Tickets start at $45 and are available at

Jarrett has experience as an inductor, joining his brother Glenn and sister Patti Makar to induct father Ned into the NASCAR Hall of Fame's second class.

"That was really a cool place to be and see the pride on his face, and to be able to show him how proud we were of him," Jarrett said of inducting his father. "This time will be a little different as I'm the one handing out the 'thank-you's' and accolades to others. It's going to be an emotional time, it will be a tough seven or eight minutes to get through with some of the things I have to say."

As long lasting as they are varied, this year's inductee-inductor relationships are uniquely special – each with a story all its own…

· Maurice Petty built the engines that propelled his brother Richard to seven NASCAR championships and most of his 200 wins.

· Fireball Roberts won the 1963 Southern 500 with an engine built by Waddell Wilson.

· Jack Ingram and Harry Gant had a fierce rivalry that helped build the popularity of what is now the NASCAR Nationwide Series.

· Tim Flock worked with Humpy Wheeler at Charlotte Motor Speedway for more than 30 years.

· After an introduction by former teammate Elliott Sadler nearly a decade ago, Dale Jarrettand country music star Blake Shelton have become close friends.

"I couldn't have all four of my kids as inductors, and I couldn't just ask one. I wanted my dad to be able to enjoy the moment with my mom and the rest of my family. So it just kind of opened up the opportunity," said Jarrett.

"This sport brought a lot of really good things to me. It gave me a chance to be a competitor, an opportunity to compete at the highest level and win, but it also has allowed me to make some really good friendships and Blake Shelton is one of those people."

The NASCAR Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will kick off with a media red carpet entrance in the Great Hall at the NASCAR Hall of Fame at 4:15 p.m. ET. The formal presentations begin during the Induction Dinner, where the inductees will receive their NASCAR Hall of Fame jackets. Chris Economaki will also be honored as the third recipient of the Squier-Hall Award for NASCAR Media Excellence.

Labor Day Replaces Governor's Cup

Waterbury, VT – The four race Vermont State Late Model Championship series, which boasts an $11,000 point fund, will see changes in 2014. The series, which features four events split between Vermont's only two paved oval speedways, will now include the Labor Day Classic at Barre's Thunder Road on the schedule, instead of the Vermont Governor's Cup as in years past.

The Vermont State Late Model Championship was created in 2012 and hosts two races each at Devil's Bowl Speedway in West Haven and Thunder Road in Barre. Once again the series will kick off with the Mekkelsen RV Memorial Day Classic 100 at Thunder Road on Sunday, May 25. The 1/4-mile portion of the series will conclude with the Labor Day Classic 200 on Sunday, August 31. The Labor Day event will also be the final Thunder Road Late Model point-counting event for 2014.

The Devil's Bowl 1/2-mile will host a 100-lap event on Friday, May 30 and conclude the series with another 100-lap event during the Vermont 200 weekend on Sunday, September 14. For the third season, the Vermont State Champion will be crowned following the September event at Devil's Bowl. Past VT State Champions were Dave Pembroke in 2012 and Nick Sweet last season, who each picked up a $2,000 point fund check.

The Canadian Racing Season Begins February 7, 8, & 9, 2014 at Toronto’s International Centre

(TORONTO, ON // JANUARY 20, 2014) In 2009, Charles Priestly was declared the Hurricane Midgets series champion. Shortly thereafter, Priestly hung up his helmet and assumed the mantle of club president for the Southern Ontario-based touring series.

Throwing himself into the process of growing and promoting the long-running division, Priestly has seen his dedication rewarded with overflowing grids, and close, wheel-to-wheel racing action throughout the field.

As part of their efforts to promote their exciting series, Priestly, Race Director Jackie Francis and a strong supporting crew will be part of the tour’s first ever appearance at the Canadian Motorsports Expo Powered by Inside Track Motorsport News. The show takes place February 7, 8 & 9 at Toronto’s International Centre.

“The Canadian Motorsports Expo is one of those places where we feel we need to be,” explains Priestly. “We want to promote our series, but we also feel responsible for promoting the tracks that host us, and the sponsors that keep us running.”

In 2013, 38 Hurricane Midgets drivers scored points towards the season championship. The title was ultimately claimed by Cookstown, Ontario’s Robin McLean. For virtually all of the 18 scheduled race events, the field had to be narrowed to 24 starters through qualifying heat races, with an unfortunate few going home before the features.

Despite the overwhelming support of the series’ current participants, Priestly admits he’s looking forward to enticing fresh talent to join the Hurricane Midget fraternity.

“We always have room for more people; we need new faces in order for the series to continue to grow,” stated Priestly. “And I truly believe the cream rises to the top of the talent pool. The larger the pool we have to draw from, the better the racing, and the better the show we can put on.”

At the CME, the Hurricane Midgets display will feature McLean’s championship winning #97 mount, as well as Rob McCall’s Midget, which secured Best Appearing Car honours in 2013. Both racers will be on hand, as will Priestly and Francis, to answer questions about the series.

Concludes Priestly, “By the time the CME rolls around, we will have our 2014 schedule finalized, and I’m really hoping that we can confirm a new title sponsor for the series at the show. 2014 is looking like another exceptional year for the Hurricane Midgets, and the year starts for us at the Canadian Motorsports Expo.”

ABOUT THE HURRICANE MIDGETS: Starting out as an American-based Quarter-Midget club, the Hurricane Midgets moved into Southern Ontario over two decades ago, and have grown into a premiere touring division. The 450 pound, winged mini-sprint cars are powered by a 440 c.c. snowmobile engine pushing out approximately 85 horsepower. HONORED AT 2013 PASS NORTH BANQUET

Over two hundred drivers, crewmembers, sponsors, family members and supporters of the Pro All Stars Series, gathered to honor the champions and top finishers at the 2013 “Night of Champions” awards banquet held at the Seasons Event and Conference Center in Portland, Maine.

After being treated to a delicious meal, PASS President, Tom Mayberry stepped to the podium and addressed the crowd by thanking them for their support in 2013. Mayberry also thanked Scott Reed for his years of support and dedication to the PASS Series and then introduced and welcomed Charlie and Jamie Rockwell to the PASS Tech team. Mayberry laid out his plans for 2014 and wished everyone a very successful racing campaign this season.

Specialty awards were first on the agenda. They included:

PASS Series awards were next on the agenda, and each divisions champions and competitors were honored. North Bridgeton, Maine’s, Carey Martin was honored as the 2013 PASS Sportsman champion. Martin secured his championship by picking up a pair of victories, and six top five finishes in the seven events run. The top five included Martin, Rusty Poland, Joe Pastore, Dan McKeage and Nathan Leavitt.

Scott Alexander proudly carried the PASS Mod championship awards back to his hometown of Newburgh, Maine. Alexander captured his championship by being consistent all season as he failed to win a race, but had the most top five finishes with eight in twelve race starts. Rounding out the PASS Mod top five were Travis Buzzell, Mitch Miller, Scott McDaniel and Mike Carignan.

Farmington, Maine’s, Cassius Clark edged out Joey Doiron and DJ Shaw for the 2013 Pass North Super Late Model Championship. Clark held off Doiron by a mere four points, and Shaw by just five. Clark also had a very solid championship season as he collected a pair of wins, nine top fives, and eleven top ten’s in twelve starts. Completing the top five was the 2012 PASS North champion Travis Benjamin, followed by Ben Rowe.

CHARLOTTE, NC (January 17) – Two-time defending Pro All Stars Series (PASS) Super Late Model national champion Jay Fogleman headlines another impressive group of drivers that have entered for the 3^rd running of the Florida Winter Meltdown at New Smyrna Speedway on February 8. Fogleman’s entry comes as somewhat of a surprise after he announced last year that he would curtail racing to focus more on his 14-year-old son, Tate’s, budding career. And, while Fogleman has no plans to defend his PASS South Super Late Model championship of a year ago, he does plan on making a run at his third straight PASS National Series title. Fogleman, who finished 8^th in the inaugural Winter Meltdown at New Smyrna back in 2010, will return to the seat of his famed #4 out of the family owned Bull City Race Cars shop.

“We’re definitely stepping back this year to focus on Tate and trying to help him win the PASS South championship,” said Fogleman. “I’m planning to run all the PASS National races this year. We came close to winning at Oxford last year and I sure would like to get that Oxford 250 trophy before my career’s all said and done.”

While the elder Fogleman, does not plan another full season run at both the PASS National and PASS South titles, the same cannot be said for Tate Fogleman. Tate will once again pilot the Speedco Truck Lube & Tire Ford in 2014 with plans to compete for both championships. The Florida Winter Meltdown will be young Tate’s first visit to New Smyrna Speedway. Following a successful rookie campaign in 2013 that saw Tate finish fifth in the PASS National Series and PASS South Super Late Model championship, he will be looking for even more consistency and his first win. Last season was highlighted by a 7^th place finish in the Winter Meltdown, held last year at Florida’s Auburndale Speedway, and by qualifying for his first Oxford 250.

Another driver planning to make his first start at New Smyrna Speedway in this year’s Florida Winter Meltdown will be Hickory, NC native Tyler Church. Last Fall, Church became one of the Nation’s breakout short track racers following an emotional win at his hometown track, the Hickory Motor Speedway, in the Over The Mountain 150. Church proved that win was no fluke by driving the Church’s Carpet Chevrolet to a dominant victory in the Mason Dixon Meltdown at Southern National Motorsports Park. With the necessary funding, Church plans to compete for the PASS South Super Late Model championship in 2014 with an eye at possibly competing in the PASS National Series.

In his first year driving PASS Pro Late Models in 2013, second generation driver Harrison Burton proved he was a quick study scoring a pair of wins at Dillon Motor Speedway. Under the tutelage of his father, Jeff, Harrison Burton looks to further his career, moving into PASS Super Late Models in 2014 starting at the Florida Winter Meltdown. It will not be Burton’s first foray into PASS Super Late Models though, having competed in last year’s Easter Bunny 150 at Hickory and finishing 8^th at the Southern National’s Mason Dixon Meltdown. With experience and a successful test under his belt at New Smyrna, Burton hopes to capture an early season checkered flag with the Dex Imaging machine.

Veteran John Batten has also filed an early entry for the Winter Meltdown. Batten heads to New Smyrna following the most successful season in his eight year PASS South Super Late Model career. He finished fourth in PASS South points on the strength of his best career PASS South finishes, fourth place efforts at Caraway Speedway in May and Orange County Speedway in October. The former two-time Super Late Model champion at Southern National believes 2014 can be a banner year best on last season’s strong effort.

Entries continue to come in daily for what looks to be one of the biggest Super Late Model races of the Winter. Entry forms for the 3^rd Running of the Florida Winter Meltdown 125 can be found at ProAllStarsSeries.com.

Action gets under way on Friday, February 7^th at New Smyrna Speedway with practice for all divisions from 1:30-5 PM. On Saturday, February 8^th, pit gates will open at 10 AM, with practice from Noon- 3 PM. Qualifying will begin at 4 PM and racing will start at 6 PM, featuring 125 laps for the PASS Super Late Models, 30 laps for the E Modifieds and 30 laps for the Outlaw Sportsman.

Quebec’s Larue Brothers Accept Prestigious MacTavish Award

Burlington, VT – The American Canadian Tour (ACT) held its annual Banquet of Champions at the Doubletree Inn in Burlington, VT on Saturday, January 11. ACT honored its 2013 champions and top ten competitors from the Northeastern U.S.-based ACT Late Model Tour and the Quebec-based Série ACT. ACT Late Model competitors from across the region battled in point counting and special events for their share of over $900,000 in purses and point funds during 2013.

Wayne Helliwell, Jr. of Dover, NH and car owner Bruce Bernhardt earned their second straight ACT Late Model Tour title in 2013. Helliwell defended his 2012 title with two feature wins and another ACT Championship. He and his team narrowly avoided disaster in the final event of the season and hung on to their slim lead to earn the title. Helliwell and Bernhardt also claimed the Ford Blue Oval Cup title for the fourth straight season.

Jean-François Déry from Quebec City, QC claimed his first career Série ACT Championship in one of the closest battles in Série history. The veteran Série ACT competitor and perennial frontrunner picked up two feature wins during his title bid. He claimed the championship by just eight points in the highly competitive series that visits several tracks across the province of Quebec.

Brothers Denis and Louis Larue were awarded the prestigious Don MacTavish Award for their support and dedication to ACT and the sport of stock car racing. The Larue brothers have owned and managed a top-tier team on the Série ACT since its inception in 2007. They continue to be an integral part of the success of the Quebec-based series.

The annual Crew Chief of the Year Awards were also presented for both the ACT U.S. and the Série ACT at the banquet. Joe Polewarczyk of Hudson, NH earned the U.S. award after turning wrenches and spotting for his son Joey Polewarczyk, Jr. The Polewarczyk team finished second in the standings after claiming four feature wins in 2013. Andre Beaudoin received the honors for the Série ACT Crew Chief of the Year Award. As a former driver-turned-crew chief, Beaudoin helped guide driver Alex Labbe and the Larue team to a runner-up finish in the 2013 standings.

Rookie of the Year Awards went to Bobby Therrien (ACT U.S.) and Martin Goulet, Jr. (Série ACT). Therrien joined a short list of drivers to earn a feature win during their rookie season on his way to the rookie title. Goulet steadily improved during his first season on the Série ACT and claimed a top ten in the final standings.

American Canadian Tour Late Model teams will return to action in just a few short months with the season opening NH Governor’s Cup 150 at Lee USA Speedway in Lee, NH on Sunday, April 13. The 2014 Série ACT season will kick off with a 100-lap event at Autodrome St-Eustache in St-Eustache, QC on Saturday, May 24.

ANDRÉ BEAUDOIN ET MARTIN GOULET HONORÉS

(Burlington, VT) – Plusieurs pilotes et membres d’équipe du Québec ont été honorés, hier soir à Burlington, à l’occasion du banquet regroupant les deux séries de l’ACT. Parmi ceux-ci, on remarque Jean-François Déry de Québec, les frères Denis et Louis Larue, André Beaudoin et Martin Goulet jr.

Le summum lors de cette soirée est sans contredit l’attribution du prix Don MacTavish qui est remis à une ou des personnes dans le giron de l’American Canadian Tour pour leur engagement inconditionnel envers l’ACT. Hier soir, les frères Denis et Louis Larue de Larue Équipement de déneigement se sont vus attribuer cette plus haute marque de distinction. Ces derniers ont été récompensés pour les efforts déployés auprès de l’ACT depuis son retour au Québec en 2007 et également leur dévouement envers le stock-car québécois. On sait qu’ils ont toujours présenté une équipe à la fine pointe et surtout très compétitive. Donald Theetge de Québec avait reçu le même honneur en 2010.

Leur nouveau pilote qui a pris la relève du Félicinois Karl Allard, le jeune Alex Labbé n’a pas mis trop de temps pour s’acclimater avec ce groupe et ce n’est que la faible marge de huit points qu’il a vu le championnat lui glisser entre les doigts.

Également, Jean-François Déry de Québec a finalement coiffé officiellement de titre de la saison 2013 de la série ACT-Québec. Il s’agissait de son premier championnat après avoir terminé deuxième lors de l’année précédente. En 11 départs cette saison, Déry, au volant de sa Camry, a paradé à deux reprises dans le cercle des vainqueurs et a terminé parmi les cinq premiers en neuf occasions. Celui qui ne croyait pas assister à cette soirée, car son épouse doit accoucher d’ici quelques semaines, a touché un chèque de 20,000$ pour son exploit.

Pour sa part, dixième au cumulatif de la saison, Martin Goulet Jr. de Mascouche a été proclamé la recrue de l’ACT-Québec. Sous les conseils judicieux de son paternel qui est aussi pilote, Martin n’a cessé d’acquérir de l’expérience et à sa première saison complète, il a terminé parmi les dix premiers à trois reprises.

Bien mérité

Choix bien mérité en ce qui concerne le chef d’équipe par excellence dans l’ACT-Québec. Un autre honneur pour l’équipe Larue alors qu’André Beaudoin a été choisi. Ancien pilote lui-même, il a su mettre son expérience au profit de l’équipe Larue. Cela a contribué au championnat de 2010 remporté par Karl Allard. Puis, avec un nouveau protégé en 2013, la chimie n’a pas tarder à se faire et il a guidé son nouveau «poulain» a une deuxième place au classement.

Parmi les autres pilotes québécois sur place pour recevoir leur quote-part du fonds de points, on remarquait Claude Leclerc de Lachenaie, septième au cumulatif à l’âge de 71 ans. Celui que l’on surnomme avec raison « l’homme de fer» participera à son 500^e départ dans l’ACT en 2014.

Finalement, il a vu la malchance le quitter en 2013 et à sa troisième saison dans l’ACT-Québec, il a terminé au sixième échelon à 14 points de la cinquième. Pour Étienne Cliche de Vallée-Jonction, il s’agit de son meilleur classement et avec neuf présences parmi le top dix, il a prouvé qu’il avait sa place dans ce championnat très compétitif.

Quelle saison a connu Jonathan Bouvrette de Blainville qui a pris la quatrième place. Avant 2013, il n’avait que deux résultats parmi les cinq premiers, mais il en a ajouté six à son palmarès dont sa première victoire lors du St-Eustache 200, la dernière manche du calendrier. Il sera certainement à surveiller lors de la saison 2014.

Changement

Une modification a été apportée au calendrier 2014 de la série ACT-Québec. Le Montmagny 250 qui devait être présenté le 30 août prochain, a été remis au lendemain, le 31 août.

Sur le plan de l’ACT-US, Wayne Helliwell Jr a coiffé le titre pour une deuxième année consécutive, Bobby Therrien a été proclamé la recrue tandis que Joe Polewarczyk a été nommé chef d’équipe par excellence pour avoir guidé son fils en deuxième place avec une fiche de quatre victoires dont l’International 500.
