LES QUÉBÉCOIS À L'INTERNATIONAL 300

(Waterbury, VT) – Les meilleurs pilotes des la série ACT-Québec sont inscrits en prévision de la deuxième édition de l'International 300 qui se tiendra à la piste Airborne Speedway,le dimanche 20 juillet prochain. Ceux-ci tenteront de s'accaparer la bourse de 25,000$ en devises américaines qui sera attribuée au gagnant.

Ce groupe mené par Dany Trépanier de St-Édouard-de-Lotbinière, l'actuel meneur au classement cumulatif de la série ACT-Québec faisant suite à son éclatante victoire, samedi dernier à l'Autodrome St-Eustache. L'an dernier, il avait terminé en 19e place au combiné et son meilleur résultat avait été une 12e place lors de la première confrontation. Actuellement, il a le vent dans les voiles et pourrait facilement se retrouver sur le podium à l'issue de l'International 300.

Se joignant à Trépanier, il y a le champion en titre de la série ACT-Québec, Jean-François Déry de Québec. L'an dernier, il s'était avéré le meilleur Québécois avec une cinquième place au combiné. Également du groupe, on remarque Patrick Laperle de St-Denis-sur-Richelieu. Ce dernier a fait ses débuts à la piste Airborne et il y cumule cinq victoires. Il a gagné le championnat américain de l'American-Canadian Tour en 2008. Pour lui, la présence des pilotes américains n'est pas trop stressante.

Deuxième à sa dernière présence à cette piste américaine, un peu plus tôt cette saison,Jonathan Bouvrette de Blainville avait livré une excellente bagarre à l'élite des pilotes américains qu'il retrouvera lors de cet International 500. Il est bien disposé à tenter l'impossible pour tenter de mériter le chèque de 25,000$.

Finalement Alex Labbé de St-Albert qui a rétrogradé en quatrième place au classementACT-Québec faisant suite à des ennuis à l'Autodrome St-Eustache, voudra bien reprendre où il a terminé en 2013 à Plattsburgh, soit sur la première marche du podium lors du Fall Foliage 200. On se souviendra que par la suite, il avait surpris tout le monde en étant le plus rapide lors des essais chronométrés en prévision du Milk Bowl et que lors de cette course, il avait pris la troisième position à sa première tentative dans un tel genre d'épreuve.

Bien sur, il y aura Stéphane Descoste d'Oka, un régulier du tour américain. Il y a aussi une inscription de la part de Réjean Plante, le paternel de Josiane et Maxime, mais pour l'instant, on  ignore qui sera sur place.

L'International est unique en son genre avec trois tranches sont la première de 50 tours et les deux autres de 75. On sait que le gagnant est déterminé par son résultat à chaque confrontation, ce qui constitue son pointage. Au même programme, on retrouvera les pilotes de la série Procam Super Trucks qui est maintenant sanctionnée par l'ACT qui se disputeront une finale de 50 tours.

On peut déjà se procurer des billets au bureau de l'ACT. Les sièges réservés pour la journée de dimanche sont à 35$ alors que l'admission générale est de 25$ pour les adultes et les enfants de 6 à 12 ans, 5$. À noter que la veille, il y aura un programme mettant en vedette des cascadeurs. L'admission pour les adultes est de 10$ ou 20$ pour une famille de deux adultes, deux enfants,

Strong Contingent of Quebec Stars Ready for International

Waterbury, VT – A strong contingent of Série ACT stock car racing stars from Quebec have filed entries for the ACT International 300 at Airborne Speedway in Plattsburgh, NY to be held on Sunday, July 20. The best of the Quebec series will attempt to claim the $25,000 winner's payday.

The contingent is led by current Série ACT point leader Dany Trepanier who claimed his first win of the season last weekend and moved himself to the top of the standings. Joining Trepanier will be Alex Labbe of St-Albert, QC. Labbe has already claimed a win on the Quebec series this season, and during his last visit to Airborne Speedway in September of 2013, he beat the inaugural International winner, Joey Polewarczyk, Jr., for the win in the Fall Foliage 200.

Along with Trepanier and Labbe will be two former Série ACT Champions. Defending champion Jean-François Déry from Quebec City and former three-time Champion Patrick Laperle from St-Denis, QC have both entered the International 300. Déry was the highest finishing Quebec driver in the 2013 International event with a fifth place effort. Laperle began his racing career at Airborne Speedway and has five ACT wins at the ½ mile speed-plant.

Another Série ACT front runner in Jonathan Bouvrette has filed his entry for the event which boasts nearly $100,000 in purse and prize money. He currently sits comfortably in the top ten in the Série ACT standings.

The International is a unique three segment race featuring a 50-lap segment and two 75-lap segments. The winner is decided by combining the three segments under a unique point system. In addition to the ACT International field of Late Models, the newly ACT-sanctioned Pro Cam Truck Series will also participate at the International in a 50-lap feature.

Advanced sale tickets for the event are available now from the ACT office. Sunday reserved seat tickets are just $35, adult general admission is $25 and kids (ages 6 to 12) are just $5. Saturday, July 19's Black Cat Hell Drivers Thrill Show tickets are just $10 for adults, $3 for kids (ages 6 to 12) and $20 for a family ticket (2 adults, 2 kids).

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (July 7, 2014) – The hottest oval driver competing in the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series presented by Mobil 1 right now faces a big opportunity with two such races in a six-day span starting with Friday's Alberta Has Energy 300 at Edmonton International Raceway.

 

Jason Hathaway has won three of the last four oval races the series has contested dating back to the end of the 2013 campaign, including the first circle track event of the current season at Autodrome Chaudiere on June 15.

 

Although he won't yet rank himself alongside the D.J. Kenningtons and Scott Stecklys of the world – who have combined for 31 circle track victories – Hathaway is confident that his No. 3 Rockstar Energy Drink Chevrolet is as formidable as any other on the ovals.

 

"I don't know about elite, but I would classify us one of the teams that can win at every oval we go to," Hathaway said. "This series is so competitive with Kennington, Steckly, J.R. [Fitzpatrick] – and to have Andrew [Ranger] back this year – it's such a competitive series.

 

Although he won a race in 2008 and recorded a career-high for top 10s in 2010, Hathaway has emerged as a legitimate championship contender in the last two seasons with the ability to consistently contend for wins on the ovals. He and Ed Hakonson Racing finished third in points in 2013.

 

"We put a lot of emphasis into our oval program, and it's kind of my background and what I grew up doing," Hathaway said. "I would say there's been some luck involved, and things have to go your way week-in and week-out, but we've had really good luck on the ovals and we definitely want to keep that streak going."

 

The upcoming western swing, starting with Edmonton and continuing on to Auto Clearing Motor Speedway on July 16, provides the Dutton, Ontario, native with a big opportunity to build a championship campaign. He ranks fourth after three events.

 

"With only 11 races, there's not much room for error, so the ovals are definitely where I want to pick up as many points as I can," Hathaway said.

 

But first things first, Hathaway must learn a new track. Friday's Alberta Has Energy 300 will be the inaugural trip for the Canadian Tire Series to the quarter-mile oval. Much like he and a number of drivers did before the first series trip to Quebec's Autodrome Chaudiere, Hathaway has done as much research as he can on YouTube watching past feature races there.

 

In addition to it being the first time Hathaway and many of his fellow competitors will see Edmonton, the quarter-mile was very recently repaved and raced on for the first time this past weekend.

 

Hathaway recalls racing on a new surface shortly after Ontario's Barrie Speedway was repaved in the early 2000s, but said this will be a new experience.

 

"Never [raced] on anything this green before," Hathaway said. "It'll only be two-week-old pavement by the time we get there. It's either going to have a lot of grip, or won't have any at all, but we'll see when we get there."

Fast Facts:

The Race:  The Budweiser 300 will be the inaugural event for the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series presented by Mobil 1 at Edmonton International Raceway and the fourth of 11 events on the 2014 season schedule.

 

The Procedure:  The maximum starting field is 24 cars, including provisionals. The first 21 cars will have secured starting positions through two-lap time trials while the remaining three spots will be awarded through the provisional process. The race is scheduled for 300 laps (75 miles) and will have a 10-minute break at or near the conclusion of Lap 150.

 

The Track:  Edmonton will become the 17th different track overall, and the 11th oval, to play host to a Canadian Tire Series event since the series' inaugural 2007 season. The track was first paved in 1994 and received a new coat of asphalt and other improvements just prior to this race. Edmonton, under the ownership of Ron and Loretta Thiering for nearly 20 years, has been a NASCAR Whelen All-American Series member track since 2005.

 

Edmonton Race Notes:

Second of Two New Oval Events: The 2014 NASCAR Canadian Tire Series presented by Mobil 1 schedule includes two facilities new to the series. Quebec's Autodrome Chaudiere played host to the series for the first time on June 15 and now Edmonton will become the 11th different oval the series has visited since 2007.

 

Home Track Advantage for Thiering:  Erica Thiering is set to make just her second Canadian Tire Series start this week, but it will come on the familiar grounds of her family's track. Thiering is a five-time NASCAR Whelen All-American Series track champion at Edmonton, and one of the very few drivers entered for the Alberta Has Energy 300 that has ever raced the track before. Thiering made her series debut at Autodrome Chaudiere and finished 13th.

 

Tight at the Top:  Three races into the season and the championship chase is already heating up. J.R. Fitzpatrick, a winner in the season-opener at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, brings a slim two-point lead atop the standings on L.P. Dumoulin to Edmonton while two-time titlist D.J. Kennington is 14 points back in third. The season's other two race winners, Jason Hathaway (Chaudiere) and Andrew Ranger (Circuit ICAR), as well as reigning champion Scott Steckly are all within 26 points of Fitzpatrick.

 

Last Time Out:  Mirabel

The third race of the 2014 NASCAR Canadian Tire Series presented by Mobil 1 was contested on July 6 at Circuit ICAR in Mirabel, Quebec. Here are some highlights from the Jiffy Lube 100 presented by La Petite Bretonne:

  • Andrew Ranger made it three-in-a-row at Circuit ICAR with another impressive performance that resulted in a trip to Victory Lane. It was his 18th career victory overall, 15 of which have come on road courses.
  • Alex Guenette led a career-high 14 laps and tied his personal best with a runner-up finish.
  • L.P. Dumoulin crossed the line third for his third top-five in a row to start the season.
  • Ranger captured his 14th career pole Saturday prior to the race, which tied J.R. Fitzpatrick for the most poles in series history.

Rhodes Not Focused On Records As He Heads To NHMS

 

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (July 7, 2014) – Two words have been synonymous with the 2014 NASCAR K&N Pro Series East season: Ben Rhodes.

 

To say that the 17-year-old Louisville, Kentucky, native has been on a roll this year would be an understatement. Through nine events, Rhodes has five wins, eight top fives and eight top 10s. His average finish is 3.2, and if you remove the second race of the season at the UNOH Battle at the Beach at Daytona, his average finish becomes 1.6.

 

"I don't ever think about the stats," responded Rhodes when asked whether he thinks about the numbers he's put up so far this year. "If I look at the stats, I start putting pressure on myself to perform and live up to those expectations. I just try and forget about it all and do my best. My best is my best. I've got to forget about the rest"

 

Rhodes heads to New Hampshire Motor Speedway for the Granite State 100 for the series' annual stop in Loudon with a chance to tie two former champions. His four-race win streak leaves him one shy of tying 1991 champion Ricky Craven for most consecutive series wins in a season. Rhodes is also one victory away from tying Dylan Kwasniewski for most wins in a season, set last year by the NASCAR Nationwide Series Sunoco Rookie of the Year contender.

 

The strategy heading into the weekend for Rhodes is simple, avoid hitting the wall.

 

"I didn't have the best race last year," said Rhodes, who left New Hampshire with a top-five finish in 2013. "We hit the wall but ended up with a top five because we had a really good restart. We had a really fast car, but I made a mistake, so for this year, patience is going to be really big at this track."

 

The NASCAR Next standout will look to build on his 71-point lead over Turner Scott Motorsport teammate Cameron Hayley this weekend, but don't expect Rhodes to be thinking about that as he races around the 1.058-mile oval.

 

"I just go out there and do my thing. I can't change things I have no control over. My best is my best and I've got to forget about the rest."

The Race:  The Granite State 100 will be the 10th of 16 races on the 2014 NASCAR K&N Pro Series East schedule and the lone trip to New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

 

The Procedure:  The starting field is 36 cars, including provisionals. The first 32 cars will qualify through two-lap time trials. The remaining four spots will be awarded through the provisional process. The race will be 100 laps (105.8 miles) with a 10-minute break at or near the conclusion of Lap 50. The tire change rule is two tires, any position.

 

The Track:  NHMS, a 1.058-mile slightly-banked asphalt oval, is the largest track the K&N Pro Series East races at. NHMS has played host to the K&N Pro Series East in each year of the track's existence and has held more races than any other facility in the series' 28-year history.

 

Race Winners:  There have been 27 different winners in 58 all-time stand-alone races at NHMS. New Hampshire native Brad Leighton has the most series wins at the "Magic Mile" with eight while Eddie MacDonald is the active leader with three.

 

Pole Winners:  Of the 30 different drivers to earn a Coors Light Pole Award at NHMS, Kelly Moore has the most in K&N Pro Series East history with six. Brett Moffitt set the track qualifying record at 29.648 seconds (128.467 mph) in 2012 for his third "Magic Mile" pole.

 

NEW HAMPSHIRE RACE NOTES:

 

NASCAR Prospects Shine at NHMS: Since the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East evolved into a developmental series, many of NASCAR's bright young stars have found success in the series at the "Magic Mile." Joey Logano, who has two wins this year in the NASCAR Sprint Cup, won both K&N Pro Series East races at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in 2007, a feat matched by another NASCAR Sprint Cup driver Ryan Truex in 2010. NASCAR Camping World Truck Series competitor Max Gresham won an East race at NHMS in 2011, while leading 2014 Sprint Cup Series Sunoco Rookie of the Year contender Kyle Larson won at the track in 2012 while running for Rev Racing and NASCAR Drive for Diversity. Other current national series drivers that have turned in top-five K&N Pro Series East finishes in recent seasons at NHMS include: Austin and Ty Dillon, Chase Elliott, Dylan Kwasniewski, Miguel Paludo, Kevin Swindell, Darrell Wallace Jr. and Cole Whitt.

 

MacDonald on Double Duty: Two days after competing in the Granite State 100, Eddie MacDonald will make his NASCAR Sprint Cup Series debut in the Camping World RV Sales 301. The Rowley, Massachusetts, native will drive the No. 32 Go FAS Racing Ford Fusion co-owned by long-time NASCAR crew chief and NBC analyst Frank Stoddard and Archie St. Hilaire. MacDonald will hope that his K&N Pro Series East success at the track, three wins, four top fives and 12 top 10s in 25 starts, will translate to the Sprint Cup Series.  The veteran has seven career K&N East wins, with his most recent victory coming at Bristol Motor Speedway earlier this year.

 

Grala Building Momentum: Kaz Grala is coming off his first top-five finish with the K&N Pro Series East, a fifth-place effort at Langley Speedway in Hampton, Virginia, in the Visit Hampton VA 175. Grala, from Westborough, Massachusetts, is the youngest driver running full-time in the series this season and will race at his local track for the first time in the Granite State 100. In addition to his best series finish, the Turner Scott Motorsport rookie also picked up his first NASCAR Whelen All-American Series victory of the season, winning in the Rusty Harper Memorial at Caraway Speedway in Sophia, North Carolina, on July 4. Grala beat out two-time defending national champion Lee Pullium in the 171-lap event.

 

NASCAR Night at Lowell Spinners:  The Lowell Spinners – the Class A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox – will hold their annual "NASCAR Night" at LeLacheur Park on Wednesday, July 9 in Lowell, Massachusetts. Rhodes, Cameron Hayley, Scott Heckert, Grala and Brandon Jones will join NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour drivers Ryan Preece and Woody Pitkat for the promotional night.

 

New Date: The last two years, this race has been held during the September NASCAR Sprint Cup Series weekend. This will be the first time the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East has run the summer date since 2011.

 

LAST TIME OUT: Langley

 

The 9th event of the 2014 NASCAR K&N Pro Series East season took place at Langley Speedway on June 21. Here are some highlights from the Visit Hampton VA 175:

 

·         Ben Rhodes continued his roll by winning his fourth consecutive event and fifth of 2014, extending his lead in the championship standings to 71 points.

·         Turner Scott Motorsports placed all five of its drivers in the top six with Rhodes, Cameron Hayley, Scott Heckert, Kaz Grala and Brandon Jones finishing first, second, fourth, fifth and sixth respectively.

·         Kenzie Ruston tied her career best finish with a third-place effort, her second top-five finish of the season.

 

NEXT TIME OUT: Columbus

 

Following the Granite State 100, the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East will return to action on Saturday, July 19 with the JEGS 150 at Columbus (Ohio) Motor Speedway. It will be the fourth all-time event at the track for the K&N Pro Series East has visited the track. Daniel Suárez is the defending race winner, beating out Cale Conley by .378 seconds for his first series victory.

L’Autodrome Drummond amorce juillet avec la série NationaleSeaway ainsi que les Maskoutins comme invité.

C'est un important mois que celui de juillet à l'Autodrome Drummond et on débute le tout avec la série Nationale Seaway qui mettra en vedette la catégorie sportsman pour une finale de 50 tours. Les modifié et Lightning-sprint seront également en action.

Présentement dans cette série qui a débuté du côté de Brockville en Ontario, Mathieu Desjardins est le meneur suivi de Dylan Evoy et Shane Pecore. Bien que cette série est très jeune, Desjardins voudra certainement prendre avantage que cette série soit à Drummondville pour consolider son avance.On peut s'attendre à voir un imposant groupe de voitures dont plusieursvenant de l'Ontario. Du côté du championnat local, Desjardins est à seulement 2 points du meneur Guy Ouellette, vainqueur lors du dernier programme. La lutte pour le top-5 est très serrée alors que seulement 2 points également distance les positions 3 à 5, détenu par Jonathan Désilets, Dany Gagné et Martin Pelletier. Chez les modifié qui seront en action pour une finale de 75 tours, la lutte est très vive alors que David Hébert domine avec 2 points de priorité sur Steve Bernard. Mario Clair, Gino Clair et Sébastien Gougeon complètent le top-5. On doit s'attendre à beaucoup d'action alors que certain n'ont pu se faire justice depuis le début de saison et que d'autre vont tenter de reprendre ou ils ont laissé lors du dernier programme. La série Lightning-sprint sera également en action alors que dans cette série Mathieu Bourgouin domine devant Guillaume Neiderer, le dernier vainqueur à Drummond et Alex Therrien.

Beaucoup d'action à prévoir sur la piste notamment en sportsman alors que la série Nationale Seaway nous visite. On poursuit la promotion de gratuité encore une fois cette semaine avec les résidents de St-Hyacinthe qui seront reçus gratuitement dans la grande estrade avec une preuve de résidence avec photo. Les 1e tours de piste auront lieu vers 18hrs 20.Donc, arrivez tôt pour voir notre magnifique tableau indicateur, une 1edans l'histoire de l'Autodrome Drummond.

Déjà la mi-saison pour la Série Sportsman Québec Lucas Oil

Avec le programme qui se tiendra ce samedi, 12 juillet prochain à l'Autodrome Chaudière de Vallée-Jonction, la Série entame la seconde moitié de sa saison. Une saison qui nous apporte déjà pleins de rebondissements, de surprises et qui nous permet de découvrir et même redécouvrir certains pilotes !




Selon les inscriptions confirmées, c'est plus de 20 voitures qui seront présentes; encore une fois, les pilotes et équipiers répondent à l'appel.

Il est intéressant à ce temps-ci de faire une tournée du classement général qui nous donne un beau portrait des premiers programmes de la saison.

Il va s'en dire que le #33 Philippe Poulin, le #22 Louis-Philippe Labrecque et le #24 Gerry Bilodeau ont connu tous les trois un début de saison exceptionnelle; on vous l'a mentionné lors de nos communiqués précédents. D'ailleurs ces 3 pilotes font parties des 4 premiers au classement général. Mais qui sont les autres pilotes qui se démarquent?

La Série Sportsman Québec redécouvre un Marco Savoie différent

Le #27 Marco Savoie de Saint-Lambert avait connu un début de saison plus lent. Étant positionné au 19e rang du classement après un course, on a pu constater dans les programmes suivant  une progression impressionnante qui le hisse maintenant au 7e rang au classement général. On a découvert, pour son retour avec la Série, un pilote très discipliné et plus calme que par le passée et ceci est assurément une partie de la clé du succès du pilote qui détient actuellement 3 top 5 en 5 programmes. Il va s'en dire qu'il sera à surveiller dans les prochains programmes puisqu'à la vitesse qu'il remonte les positions et le peu de points qui le distance du top 5, il pourrait encore en surprendre plusieurs. Gageons que Méchoui International, son commanditaire principal, ainsi que ces autres commanditaires sont bien contents d'avoir placé leur confiance en ce pilote convainquant!

 

La recrue 2013, le #67 Dominic Jacques poursuit sa montée

Dominic Jacques, commandité principalement par Claude Boutin Services Sanitaires, nous avait déjà démontré l'an passé tout le talent de pilotage dont il pouvait faire preuve. Et bien, avec la saison qu'il connait actuellement, il nous montre encore une fois que tout en ayant le respect des autres pilotes en piste, on peut progresser. Lui qui détient actuellement la 3e position au classement général avec sa victoire du week-end dernier n'a que 21 points à rattraper sur le #33 Philippe Poulin. Les deux pilotes qui avaient dit à la blague en début de saison que leur objectif respectif était de se battre un et l'autre se retrouve effectivement dans cette position. Qui de Jacques ou Poulin aura le dessus d'ici la fin de la saison?

 

Championnat des recrues Lessard et Gervais à égalité

Nous savions que le #04 Jean-Philippe Gervais de Trois-Rivières pouvait bien performer en circuit routier et il nous l'a prouvé ce week-end. Gervais commandité principalement par Locusi a obtenu son premier top 5 avec la Série Sportsman ce qui l'a mis a égalité au classement des recrues avec le #71 Raphaël Lessard. Une chaude lutte s'amorce pour le championnat des recrues et les prochains programmes seront décisifs.

Comme vous pouvez le constater, rien n'est encore gagné pour personne au classement général. Les pilotes de la Série Sportsman Québec Lucas Oil vous réservent de belles surprises et surtout, un spectacle qui mérite le déplacement !

3rd Sportsman win for Lamberton

SOUTH PLATTSBURGH – Jessey Mueller reeled in Aaron Bartemy to win the Ernie's Discount Tools 358-Modified three-segment 76-lap main event on Unique Cigs Fireworks Night at Airborne Park Speedway.

 

Mueller placed third in the first 30-lap segment, trailing only Bartemy and Leon Gonyo and despite inversion of the field, bettered his result one spot in each of the last two rounds.

 

By winning the final 20-lap battle with a surge around Bartemy on lap 13, Mueller recorded a combined event score of 3+2+1=6 – worth over $2,000.

 

Bartemy had his best night of the season as the runner-up with nine points (1+6+2). Chris Cayea, steady throughout, was third overall.

 

The field included several J&S Steel Sportsman Modifieds and Plattsburgh's Nick Heywood earned a $500 bonus for having the lowest Sportsman Modified score.

 

Kris Vernold, who failed to finish the first segment after equipment failure and a slide off the top of the fourth turn, started on the pole of round two and won it decisively. Vernold placed sixth overall behind Leon Gonyo (4th) and Greg Atkins (5th).

 

Lamberton scored his second Sportsman Modified win in a row in the Banker Orchards No. 44 after chasing down Tyson Drown, who broke out to an early lead and held the point for the first 16 of 30 laps. Jason Durgan finished second, a car-length better than Nick Heywood, who ran well ahead of 4th-place Travis Bruno with Drown next across the line.

 

All-time Key RD Trailer Sales Renegade win leader Robert Gordon of Milton, VT carried the checkers for the second time this season after getting the better of Shawn Duquette on a lap-22 restart in the Renegade main.

 

Duquette had held the lead to that point despite an unusual amount of incidents and restarts for the fan-favorite Renegades, who often go flag-to-flag green. Five restarts helped Gordon advance from mid-pack. He sat fifth at the halfway mark, behind Duquette, Bill Thwaits, Jamy Begor and Lance Rabtoy, who recovered from a 360-spin a lap later to end up 5th. Duquette, Begor and Thwaits were 2-3-4. Ryan Boutin, Jim McKiernan, rookie Zach Rabtoy, rookie Dylan Rabtoy and Jon Boutin filled out the top ten.

 

Veteran Harold LaVair was credited with his first Busch Mini Modified win of the year after apparent winner Dale McNeil was disqualified for a tire rule violation. Scott Richner, Pete Blaney, Jay LaGrave and Tim LaFountain each moved up a position.

Après un abandon crève-cœur à sept tours de la fin en mai dernier en raison d'un moteur éclaté, Dany Trépanier de St-Edouard-de-Lotbinière s'est agréablement repris, hier soir àl'Autodrome St-Eustache à l'occasion de la Coupe Sanivac, la quatrième manche de lasérie ACT-Québec. Ce dernier a dominé de fil en fil pour ainsi avoir le meilleur devantJonathan Bouvrette de Blainville qui a finalement réussi à rallier la ligne d'arrivée.

Pour sa part, Donald Theetge de Boischatel, avec une solide troisième position, a pris place sur le podium d'honneur pour la deuxième fois en autant de présence à ce complexe motorisé des Basses-Laurentides. Patrick Laperle de St-Denis-sur-Richelieu et Sylvain Lacombe de Terrebonne ont complété le peloton des cinq premiers.

Officieusement, Trépanier se serait hissé au premier rang du classement avec six points d'avance sur Theetge et sept devant Patrick Cliche de St-Jean-Chrysostôme qui s'est classé sixième après être parti 13e.

Une course à oublier pour Alex Labbé de St-Albert qui n'a jamais pu batailler avec les meneurs en vertu d'un problème mécanique. Il a terminé 14e avec deux tours de retard sur les meneurs ne pouvant faire mieux que de sauver les meubles. Toujours officieusement, il aurait glissé au quatrième échelon du cumulatif avec 19 points de retard sur le meneur.

Lors de cette Coupe Sanivac, on en a profité pour souligner le 500e départ dansl'American-Canadian Tour du vétéran Claude Leclerc de Lanoraie. Il a reçu des plaques de la part de Tom Curley, le président de l'ACT et d'Alan Labrosse, le propriétaire de l'Autodrome St-Eustache.

Cependant, Leclerc a abandonné la course au 57e passage après avoir touché le muret de protection devant le gradin populaire.

19 pilotes ont pris le départ de cette Coupe Sanivac qui a nécessité six ralentissements dont un arrêt complet (rouge) au départ faisant suite à un accrochage entre Patrick Boyer et Jonathan Bouvrette. Il a fallu plus de 25  minutes aux équipes d'urgence pour séparer les deux voitures qui semblaient soudées.

En début de soirée, Jonathan Bouvrette, Martin Goulet Jr. et Patrick Laperle avaient triomphé lors des préliminaires. Une absence remarquée, celle de Jean-François Déry de Québec.

Les frère Clair se partagent les honneurs du Rpm

Comme la veille à Granby, le 22j de Gino Clair prend vite le contrôle de la finale, mais cette fois ne laissera pas la victoire glisser dans les mains d'un autre. Le 7 de Patrice Demers le suit pendant 3 tours jusqu'å ce que le 37 de Paul St-Sauveur lui vole l'intérieur pour la deuxième. À la relance du 6ème tour, le 54 de Steve Bernard se propulse à la place du 37. Å la reprise suivante, c'est le 01 de Chris Raabe et le One de David Hébert qui devance St-Sauveur puis Bernard. Clair #22J, Raabe #01 et Hébert #ONE finiront ainsi. 

Finale 2
Dans la seconde finale, le 22p de Patrick Beaumier donne le départ devant le 25 de Steve Bernier qui s'élance vers l'extérieur et s'empare de la première place jusqu'au tour 24. Le 13 de Kevin Hamel parti 4, est deuxième dès le 3ème passage. Le 22C de Mario Clair parti 6ème cherche le bon dosage au large. Au 7ème tour, il apparaît troisième bloquant la trajectoire du ONE derrière lui. Lors de la relance du 10ème tour, le One le dépasse, mais Clair improvise habilement au bas et reprend la troisième. Pendant ce temps, le 25 en haut et le 13 en bas paradent ensemble. Au 24ème tour, par le haut Mario Clair #22c et Kevin Hamel #13 dépassent en duo Steve Bernier #25. Le One et le 01 les suivront laissant aussi Bernier en plan. Mario Clair #22C imite donc son frère Gino en empochant une victoire. David Hébert #ONE récolte son deuxième podium avec une seconde place et Kevin Hamel #13 cumule son deuxième podium au Rpm en finissant troisième. 

Sportsman
Seulement 10 sportsman étaient présents, mais tous avaient leur place dans la compétition exempte d'accident et de neutralisation. Le 21 de Jonathan Désilets part premier suivi du 6 piloté par la recrue Michael Richard. Dès les débuts de la finale cependant il doit regagner les puits. Le 21 a le champ libre. Le 1m de Mathieu Desjardins mise sur le large pour venir prendre la deuxième position qu'il se fait prendre par le 92 de Martin Pelletier au bas de la piste. Le 90 de Dany Gagné dépasse aussi Desjardins pour la 3ème par l'intérieur. Le 16jr de Martin Hébert les copie pour la 4ème place. Le 6 de retour, mais cette fois comme retardataire prend le bas de la piste où le meneur Désilets évolue. Il n'en faut pas plus å Pelletier à la mi-course pour saisir par l'extérieur la pôle et la garder jusqu'à la clôture de l'épreuve. Jonathan Désilets #21 termine deuxième et Dany Gagné #90 troisième. 

Modlite
Steve Raby #26 donne le départ devant Stéphane Bernier #74 qui revient de loin avec son capotage du 21 juin au Rpm. Au 4ème tour, Bernier prend les devants par le grand rond du circuit. Le 48 de Raphaël Ferland parti 6 lui fera le même coup au tour 14. Le 30 de Réjean Lemieux parti 11 de 17 voitures est 7ème après 5 passages. Deux tours plus tard, il est déjà 4ème. Au 16ème tour, il atteint finalement le podium derrière le 74 de Stéphane Bernier et le 48 de Raphaël Ferland. Ferland collecte ainsi sa 3ème victoire.

MIRABEL, Que. (July 6, 2014) – Andrew Ranger is pretty close to unstoppable at Circuit ICAR.

 

The two-time champion of the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series presented by Mobil 1 led the final nine laps Sunday to take the checkered flag in the Jiffy Lube 100 presented by La Petite Bretonne.

 

It was Rangers' third straight win at the 2.113-mile, 16-turn road course on the grounds of Montreal-Mirabel International Airport. And it was Rangers' 18th career win; 15 of which have come on road courses.

 

Ranger took the lead from Alex Guenettte on Lap 21 and wound up beating last year's series rookie of the year to the line by 3.682 seconds.

 

L.P. Dumoulin finished third, followed by rookie Alex Labbe and Alex Tagliani.

 

J.R. Fitzpatrick, Scott Steckly, rookie Gary Klutt, Jason Hathaway and Peter Klutt rounded out the top 10.

 

Fitzpatrick maintains the edge in the season standings after three races, two tallies ahead of Dumoulin and 14 ahead of D.J. Kennington, who finished 12th Sunday.

 

The Jiffy Lube 100 will air on TSN on Sunday, July 13 at 11 a.m., and on the French-language RDS on Thursday, July 17 at 9:30 p.m.

 

The Canadian Tire Series' next race will be contested on July 11 with the inaugural Alberta Has Energy 300 at Edmonton International Raceway in Wetaskiwin, Alberta.
