Waterbury, VT – The American-Canadian Tour (ACT) Late Models will be at the Lee USA Speedway in Lee, NH this coming Sunday, April 26 for the 25^th annual New Hampshire Governor's Cup 150. Eddie "The Outlaw" MacDonald will look to defend his title in the event, but a host of veterans and newcomers alike figure to be up for the challenge.

MacDonald has been red hot in the ACT Late Models in recent months. The Rowley, MA driver swept all three 100-lap events at the New Smyrna Speedway in Florida as part of the annual February racing. Combined with his victories in the Vermont Milk Bowl at Barre, VT's Thunder Road last October and the Fall Brawl 150 at Groveton, NH's Speedway 51 in November, MacDonald has five straight wins in ACT-type Late Model events.

We've got a pretty good idea of where we need to be from last year," MacDonald said. "We're just going to have to go there and tune on the car and see if we can get it to perform steady throughout the whole race. You never know who's going to be able to hit it right for that day."

MacDonald, the son of Lee USA Speedway owners Red and Judy MacDonald, grew up racing at the tricky 3/8-mile oval and says that he loves everything about the track.

"We only get to go there a couple times a year now, so I look forward to going," MacDonald added." It took us a while to win the Governor's Cup, and it'd be great to be able to have the car right on and have everything go right so we can try to get another one."

A full field of challengers is expected to take on MacDonald at his home track. New Hampshire–based Tour Champions Joey Polewarczyk Jr. and Wayne Helliwell Jr. are clear favorites. The duo began the ACT season on Sunday, April 19 by finishing 1-2 in the 150-lap event at Oxford Plains Speedway. Former Governor's Cup winners Miles Chipman and Jimmy Hebert are out to reclaim the titles they won in 2010 and 2013, respectively, while defending Série ACT Champion Alex Labbe will attempt to bring the Cup across the border to Quebec.

A large crop of young and new drivers are also looking to take home the victory, led by East Montpelier, VT's Emily Packard. The high school senior drove from the 20^th starting position to finish fourth at Oxford. The performance gives Packard the early lead in ACT's Bond Auto Parts New Champions point standings.

Packard was one of five New Champion drivers to finish in the top-10 at Oxford. Auburn, ME's Travis Stearns finished seventh after running in the top-five for most of the event. Tour sophomore Mike Ziter matched his career best with an eighth-place result. 2014 Claremont Speedway Late Model Champion Rich Dubeau finished ninth in his inaugural ACT Tour event after starting last. And Jonathan Bouvrette made the trip from Blainville, Quebec to finish 10^th and earn valuable New Champions points.

Stearns, Ziter, and Dubeau are all expected to be at the NH Governor's Cup. Joining them will be multi-time Claremont and Canaan Fair Speedway Champion Aaron Fellows, former White Mountain Motorsports Park Champion Travis Fadden, defending Beech Ridge Motor Speedway Pro Series Champion Dave Farrington Jr., former ACT Rookie of the Year Bobby Therrien, Thunder Road Late Model standout Shawn Fleury, and a host of others.

The New Hampshire Governor's Cup 150 will take the green flag on Sunday, April 26. Post time for the event is 1:00pm. A Test & Tune session will be held on Saturday, April 25, with practice beginning at 12:00pm.

Waterbury, VT – The American Racer Three Star program has returned for the2015 season. The program is designed to recognize three teams in no particular order of performance who had outstanding races at American Canadian Tour (ACT) U.S. Tour events. There are no specific criteria for deciding who might receive the award of a free American Racer tire (value $125.00), but special effort by a team, an exceptional race, just plain old hard luck, or other accepted reason to give the award is used to determine the recipients.

The Three Stars are chosen by officials and will receive certificates for use of a free American Racer tire at a race of their choosing during 2015. The winners for the ACT Oxford 150 at Oxford Plains Speedway are:

*Rich Dubeau, Plainfield, NH - #30NH — An exceptional story developed during the opening weekend at Oxford. A young team from Plainfield, NH made their first ever ACT touring event start last weekend at the Oxford Plains Speedway doubleheader. They had never raced in an ACT event, had little experience on flat 3/8-mile race tracks, and seemed to struggle with set-up at the tricky Oxford oval during a day of practice on Friday afternoon. Furthermore, they missed the only chance to qualify after breaking a broken sway bar during the final practice on race day!

They fixed the car before the feature and started the race in dead last. In what appeared to be a very "quiet" ride, the #30NH team found a groove and headed forward from the very start of the race. It was a remarkable effort from a new young team that ended up finishing ninth after 150 laps. There were only three cautions, and that generally lends itself to becoming vulnerable to getting lapped, especially with the dominant performance of ACT defending Champion and race winner Joey Polewarczyk, Jr. For a truly outstanding effort in their first ever ACT touring race, the Rich Dubeau team earns a well-deserved American Racer Star of the Race award.

*Emily Packard, E. Montpelier, VT - #9ME — Emily Packard and her Neal Woodward–led team were all the talk at the end of the Oxford race. Emily won multiple "star" awards last season. She had a fourth place in overall points last year on Tour, and is certainly on top of her game coming into this season. At just 18 years old, Emily has already garnered the respect of veteran ACT drivers, as well as a fan base that appreciates the competitiveness of her driving and team preparation.

Packard's drive from the 20^th starting spot to a fourth-place finish on Sunday at Oxford made a statement that she plans to be a very serious title contender in 2015. This was her first time ever on the famous Oxford oval, a track unlike any other she has raced on, and her impressive run from 20^th and eventual battle from mid-pack with Kyle Welch, Jeff White, Travis Stearns, Jonathan Bouvrette, and JR Robinson was the best racing of the day. Packard is well-deserving of starting out the season with another American Racer Star of the Race award.

*Mike Ziter, Barre, VT - #54VT — Mike Ziter is a Thunder Road Tiger Sportsmen division graduate. His decision in 2014 was to either run the 2014 ACT U.S. Tour or race weekly at Thunder Road. He chose to go Tour racing. Coming into an established series, which is deep with talent, can be both intimidating and at times frustrating to a new team. The Ziter team took a very steady journey in 2014 en route to a 14^th-place finish in points. Visiting new tracks during the first half of the year and improving each week was the designed plan – and it worked. Finishing races and understanding the difference between weekly sprint racing and Tour long distance racing, while protecting earned territory, is essential for success.

Ziter and his team took what they earned at each event and completed a very successful rookie season. His competitive ride at Oxford Plains Speedway last Sunday earns him a Star Award, and confirms that his sophomore season is an extension of his outstanding Rookie year. He matched his best finish on the Tour from 2014 with a solid eighth-place finish last Sunday. His competitive ride in the same group Emily Packard contended with above had him in arguably the best-grouped competition of the event. He continued to move forward throughout the day. For his great start at Oxford, his team is awarded a Star of the Race award.

All the stars of the American Canadian Tour will be back in action on Sunday, April 26 for the 25^th annual New Hampshire Governor's Cup 150 at Lee USA Speedway in Lee, NH. Post time is 1:00pm.

Oxford, ME – American-Canadian Tour (ACT) Late Model Champion Joey Polewarczyk Jr. began his title defense in the best way possible at the Oxford Plains Speedway in Oxford, ME on Sunday, April 19. The Hudson, NH driver led every step of the way en route to the victory in the Oxford 150 as part of the first ever ACT/PASS doubleheader.

"Joey Pole" lived up to his nickname by earning the pole after winning his qualifying heat and scoring a +3 in ACT's plus/minus system. Pole led an early three-car breakaway with Barre, VT's Nick Sweet and Auburn, ME's Travis Stearns before stretching out his margin on the long green-flag runs.

Three cautions for minor incidents slowed the event and allowed the field to close in on Pole. The final caution, caused by Kyle Welch's slide off the top of turn 3 with 13 laps to go, gave two-time ACT Champion Wayne Helliwell Jr. his chance at the win. Dover, NH's Helliwell got underneath Sweet for second on the ensuing restart and stayed glued to Pole's bumper for the remainder of the race. However, Pole was able to hold him off and take the win.

Helliwell finished second, followed by Sweet in third. East Montpelier, VT youngster Emily Packard drove from the 20^th starting position to finish fourth. Jimmy Hebert, former Oxford Champion Jeff White, Stearns, Mike Ziter, rookie Rich Dubeau, and Série ACT regular Jonathan Bouvrette rounded out the top-10. Heat race wins went to Pole, Rowland Robinson Jr., and Brad Babb.

The event was seen by one of the biggest Opening Day crowds in the history of the 3/8-mile speedway. In addition to the ACT Late Models and Pro All Stars Series (PASS) North Super Late Models being united for the first time, it was the first time ACT had visited the track since 2012, when Pole was the victor in the Oxford 250.

"I'm very happy for Tom Mayberry and Oxford Plains Speedway," ACT President Tom Curley said. "We're excited about the positive response from the fans, and we're looking forward to the upcoming doubleheader events at Barre, VT's Thunder Road in May and at Plattsburgh, NY's Airborne Park Speedway in July."

"We're very glad that the event was as successful as it was," PASS President Tom Mayberry added. "The cooperation from both parties made this possible, and the momentum and buzz gives us something to build on."

The ACT Tour now heads to the Lee USA Speedway in Lee, NH for the New Hampshire Governor's Cup 150 on Sunday, April 26. 2014 event winner Eddie MacDonald will attempt to defend his title against Polewarczyk, Helliwell, and the rest of the ACT Late Model stars. Post time is 1:00pm.

Un calendrier pour tous les goûts chez les Slingshots en 2015 !!

Un calendrier 2015 rempli d'action du côté des Slingshots qui saura sans aucun doute faire plaisir à tout le monde. D'ailleurs c'est une classe qui gagne en popularité, d'année en année, comme étant la classe de développement par excellence dans le sport motorisé. 2015 ne devrait pas y faire exception avec un calendrier partagé entre la terre-battue et l'asphalte, pour un total de 13 courses.

La saison se mettra en marche, le 16 mai, au RPM Speedway et avec les changements qui ont été effectués à la piste au cours de l'automne passée, ça promet d'être rempli d'action. Les bolides Slingshotsseront présents à 6 reprises au RPM cette année, et d'ailleurs 1 course a été prévu sur la grande piste et ce, lors de la dernière visite à St-Marcel, le 20 septembre.

La série est également très heureuse d'être de retour à l'Autodrome Granby pour 3 courses en 2015. La piste utilisée par les Slingshots, qui se retrouvent au milieu de la grande piste, a été agrandi pour faire place à des courses encore plus relevés cette année et les pilotes sont impatients d'aller l'essayer. Ça promet d'être assez spectaculaire.

Une nouveauté cette année sera la présence des Slingshots au Cornwall Motor Speedway. Ça risque d'être toute une expérience pour les pilotes qui sont d'ailleurs déjà fébrile à l'idée de rouler sur ce circuit. Pour ce, il faut remercier le promoteur Raymond Lavergne de sa confiance et de sa motivation à faire valoir les classes de développement.

Après 2 ans d'absence, voilà que la classe Slingshotfait son retour tant attendu à l'Autodrome Chaudière. En effet, 2 courses ont été inscrites à l'horaire, soit le 11 juillet et le 15 août et c'est un «show» assuré du côté de Vallée-Jonction, alors que cette piste là se passe de présentation avec ses virages inclinés.

Pour compléter le championnat sur asphalte, les pilotes Slingshots auront à passer la frontière pour se diriger vers le Airborne Speedway, le 19 juillet. La plus petite piste du circuit de Plattsburgh sera utiliséepour l'occasion et d'ailleurs, les estrades devraient être bondées alors que ce sera également la présentation de l'ACT International.

Luke Stewart is at the Doorstep of a New DIRTcar 358 Modified Season

By the simple definition of the term, weekly short track racing is an easy concept to understand. Drivers spend the season competing at a specific venue and accumulate points that will be used to determine the annual track championship.

22 year old Lucas Stewart – known to almost everyone outside his family as 'Luke' – is getting ready to kick-off the 2015 season of action in the headline small block modified division at Brockville Ontario Speedway. This will be his 4^th campaign in the highly competitive class, but the Sydenham, Ontario racer has grown-up around the sport. His early years were spent helping in the shop and at the track on cars owned and maintained by his father and driven by his uncle. All the while, he knew it would be just a matter of time before he climbed behind the wheel and fastened the 5 point racing harness himself.

"I was able to learn so much while working on the cars Uncle Todd drove, but all the while I kept thinking 'I want to do this'," admitted the soft spoken Stewart with a smile. "When I first put together the package to run the Sportsman-Modified team in 2009, it was completely my deal. Both cars were kept in the same shop, but the #19 car was a program that I had put together, from deciding on the paint scheme and signing the sponsors, to finding a way to get the car to the track on a week-to-week basis."

Stewart's career in the Modified ranks has been a string of consistent steps up the ladder. In 2012, he made 10 starts in his rookie season and recorded a trio of top 10 finishes, while sitting 20^th in the final point standings. A year later while logging 15 starts, the young speedster scored a pair of top 5 runs and a handful of top 10 efforts on the way to 9^thoverall. Last year, another 15 main event green flags produced just a single top 5, but 11 top 10 runs and 10^th in points. He says the team has its sights set on an even stronger performance this season.

"I think I have the ability and experience to run with the best out there," said the 2014 graduate of the Drilling and Blasting program at Sir Sanford Fleming College in Lindsay. "Our equipment is some of the best available and our maintenance program is second-to-none. I tend to stay away from setting specific goals, but as a team we're ready for a top 5 point finish and hopefully a main event checkered flag."

Lucas Stewart runs a Higfab Chassis, developed by Orange County Fair Speedway veteran runner Jerry Higbie. The car may be a one of a kind in the field at Brockville, but their program is supported by a builder whose driver roster as grown by leaps and bounds over the past few seasons. For 2015, the team will be supported by M.A. Barr Service Station Maintenance, Martin Electric, Fort Glass, Number One Speed Supply, Re/Max Sales Representative Penny Blake, Higfab Chassis, Bert Transmissions, Fox Shocks and Ultrashield Seats. Team media and public relations services will be provided by Clarke Motorsports Communications.

WEEDSPORT, N.Y. – April 16, 2015 – DIRTcar Racing's Sportsman Modified Series kicks off its 14-race 2015 season on Saturday, April 25, at Fulton Speedway, and expectations are high as the tour will roll through New York, Ontario and Quebec throughout the year.

"We averaged just over 35 Sportsman at each Series race last year," said DIRTcar Northeast Director of Series and Sanctioning Mike Perrotte. "All indications are that we will have strong car counts in this class once again. I'm excited to see the caliber of competition these drivers will bring to the tracks we will be running."

In 2014, champion Mathieu Dejardins of Sorel, Quebec, clinched the title by just one point over Shane Pecore of Cornwall, Ontario. Each had two wins to their credit on the highly competitive 13-stop circuit and each is looking to best that performance starting with the opening show next weekend at Fulton.

Cory Reed, Director of Marketing for the John and Laura Wight owned Fulton & Brewerton Speedways, is looking forward to Fulton being the opening track.

"The Sportsman are a perfect complement to the Big-Block DIRTcar Northeast Series event we are running on that same date," Reed said. "We believe in the DIRTcar Northeast product. Having the 2015 DIRTcar Northeast Series program begin at Fulton Speedway gives us the opportunity to showcase our facility and the competitive program we run weekly. We're real pleased to be involved."

After starting the season at Fulton Speedway the Sportsman Series will make its next visit to CanAm Speedway on Wednesday, June 3, in LaFargeville, N.Y.

Fulton and CanAm are new to the schedule after an absence of several seasons, providing some neutral territory for competitors and making it anyone's guess who might win. Sportsman Series action resumes in July with a two-day trip to Quebec's Autodrome Drummond on July 20 in Drummondville and Autodrome Granby on July 21 in Granby.

The tour then shifts into September for a busy stretch with races Sept. 6 at Cornwall (Ontario) Motor Speedway, Sept. 11 at Ransomville (N.Y.) Speedway, Sept. 12 at Merrittville Speedway in Thorold, Ont., Sept. 13 at Humberstone (Ont.) Speedway, Sept. 19 at Mohawk Speedway in Akwesasne, N.Y.), and finally Sept. 20 at RPM Speedway (DeRichelieu, QUE).

The championship run in October includes a busy NAPA Super DIRT Week. Not only will the class compete at the famous 'Moody Mile' in Syracuse, N.Y., but it will also race at Weedsport (N.Y.) Speedway on Wednesday, Oct. 7, and at Brewerton (N.Y.) Speedway on Thursday, Oct 8.

Weedsport Speedway promoter (and Super DIRTcar Series star) Jimmy Phelps is pleased about the opportunity for the Sportsman to compete at Weedsport during NAPA Super DIRT Week.

"The Sportsman division has not only played a key role in the early success of Weedsport, but it is a big part of our overall season," Phelps said. "We are very proud to be able to bring a DIRTcar Series race to our venue during such a big week as Super DIRT Week."

The management team at Brewerton echoes those sentiments. Reed is looking forward to the Sportsman class running at Brewerton during Super DIRT Week.

"Brewerton makes a perfect back-to-back opportunity for more participation by the Sportsman on that Thursday night. The 358 and Sportsman teams will now be able to race at two prominent central New York facilities."

Action at NAPA Super DIRT Week XLIV wraps up with the drivers taking on the Mile for 30 laps of competition in a non-point race on the sport's biggest stage. The prestige, and even more importantly, the momentum of a win at Super DIRT Week will be important heading into the season's championship finale.

Brockville (Ont.) Speedway will once again welcome the Sportsman competitors for the 2015 championship finale. The annual DIRTcar Fall Nationals weekend will be the final showcase, and if history repeats the 2015 DIRTcar Northeast Sportsman Series championship will go right down to the checkered flag.

"There is a lot of team commitment to the Sportsman Series program," Perrotte said. "We're very optimistic this class will continue to be strongly supported at the local level, at Super DIRT Week and throughout the Series season. I think the fans will be pleased with the level of competition they will see at all DIRTcar Northeast Sportsman events."

Cassius Clark Ready For AIM Recycling PASS North Return This Weekend At Oxford Plains

NAPLES, ME (April 16) – For race fans throughout New England and Canada, the wait is nearly over for one of the most anticipated events in recent short track racing history. On Saturday, the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) AIM Recycling Super Late Mate Models Presented By Kenny U-Pull and the American Canadian Tour (ACT) Late Models will compete on the same racing car at Oxford Plains Speedway for the first time ever. While fans and competitors have patiently been awaiting this event, perhaps no one has been looking forward to it more than Farmington, ME's, Cassius Clark.

Clark captured his first PASS AIM Recycling Super Late Model Presented By Kenny U-Pull championship in 2013 and was once again in contention for the title last year. But, an accident at Speedway 95 as Clark took the checkered flag for his second PASS win of the season, sent him prematurely to the sidelines for the final three races of the year.

"A day doesn't go by that I don't think about how our season ended last year," says Clark. "I'm disappointed that we didn't get the chance to finish the season out, but I'm anticipating our return to the track in a brand new piece."

That piece will be a completely brand new Hight Chevrolet #77 for 2015. A new Port City Chassis has Clark excited for the new season.

"Our team will be more ready than ever," says Clark. "This is the first time in my career that I will be driving a car that is completely new and I'm really looking forward to it. I have no doubt that I'll have the best equipment and people surrounding me to help steer into victory lane where we left off last year."

Lessons learned in last year's AIM Recycling Oxford 250 Presented By Kenny U-Pull have Clark confident heading into this weekend's PASS season opener at Oxford Plains Speedway. And while he is excited for this weekend, Clark will continue to stay focused on the 250 as the year progresses, a race that has eluded him to this point.

"The Oxford 250 is at the top of our list," said Clark. "We've come up short the last two years and, if a late race caution hadn't of come out last year, we may have had a different outcome. We felt like we learned a lot about our flat track program in that race and our season started to turn around at that point. Unfortunately, we weren't able to compete in the final race at Oxford, but all of us on the Hight Motorsports Team are looking forward to hauling our new car up to Oxford Plains on April 18."

One of the best fields in PASS AIM Recycling Super Late Model Presented By Kenny U-Pull history is expected to join Clarkon Saturday, April 18 at Oxford Plains Speedway. Veteran Joey Doiron will be joined by defending series champion DJ Shaw and former champions Johnny Clark and Ben Rowe. Two-time defending AIM Recycling Oxford 250 Presented By Kenny U-Pull winner Travis Benjamin is always a strong contender at Oxford Plains along with 3-time race winner Mike Rowe. Quebec is represented in the early entries by Eric St Gelais and Raphael Lessard and Nova Scotia's Cole Butcher will be coming from the Canadian Maritimes. Vermont's Brent Dragon and Bobby Therrien, along with Connecticut's Dillon Moltz and Rhode Island's Kyle Desouza will be joined by a strong contingent from New Hampshire including Joey Polewarczyk, Matt Frahm, Bryan Kruczek, and Andy Shaw. And, as would be expected, a strong list of drivers from Maine will be contenders led by Tim and TJ Brackett, Richie Dearborn, Dave Farrington, Jr., Scott Farrington, Mike Hopkins, Michael Landry, Reid Lanpher, Glen Luce, Shawn Martin, Scott McDaniel, Scott Mulkern, David Oliver, Adam Polvinen, Tony Ricci, Gary Smith, and Bobby Timmons.

Opening weekend at Oxford Plains Speedway begins on Friday, April 17 with rotating practice for the PASS AIM Recycling Super Late Models Presented By Kenny U-Pull, ACT Late Models, PASS Modifieds, Wicked Cool Midgets and Street Stocks starting at 1 PM. On Saturday, April 18, rotating practice starts at 9:30 AM, with heat races beginning at 2 PM, followed by the main events.

Waterbury, VT – The American-Canadian Tour (ACT) Late Model Tour begins its 24^th year of competition on Saturday, April 18 at the Oxford Plains Speedway in Oxford, ME. The event is the first of three events in 16 days – a critical early stretch in determining who will contend for the 2015 championship and the $10,000 prize that comes with it.

Following the ACT Late Model's 150-lap event on the 3/8^th-mile oval, the Tour will travel to Lee USA Speedway in Lee, NH for the New Hampshire Governor's Cup 150 on Sunday, April 26. The event was postponed from its original April 12 date due to on-going winter weather. ACT then goes to Barre, VT's Thunder Road Speedbowl on Sunday, May 3 for the Merchant's Bank 150.

A strong start to the season is essential for any driver who hopes to capture the ACT Championship. In four of the last five years, the eventual Tour Champion led the point standings after three races. The lone exception came in 2013, when eventual Champion Wayne Helliwell Jr. ranked third in the standings following the third event.

In 2014, the top four drivers in the points after three races – Joey Polewarczyk Jr., Jimmy Hebert, Ray Parent, and Emily Packard – finished the season ranked in those exact same spots. Williamstown, VT's Hebert, who is entering his fourth year on the Tour in his familiar black-and-orange #58VT, knows the first few events are as crucial as ever.

"It sets the tone for the rest of the season," Hebert said. "As tight as the competition is on the rest of our series, you can't afford to give up one race, to say nothing about getting off to a bad start. So it's very important to get off on the right foot and get a good jump in the points to help carry us through the rest of the year."

Conversely, a slow start to the 13-race Tour schedule will be hard to fight back from. Last year, only one driver who was outside the top-10 in points following the third race managed to finish the year inside the top-10. Winthrop, ME's Jeff White was 12^th in points after three races and moved up to 10^th at the end of the year.

Veterans and newcomers alike will thus be fighting for every position they can in this early quarter of the season. Young drivers such as Kyle Welch and Brandon Atkins, who finished 11^th and 12^th in the standings in 2014, know this early stretch could be the difference in whether they crack the top-10 or top-five in 2015. Conversely, established stars such as Polewarczyk and Parent know a rough three events could be too much to overcome in their drive for the championship.

The ACT Tour's best will kick off their championship chase this Saturday, April 18 at Oxford Plains Speedway as part of the first-ever twin bill between ACT and the Pro All Stars Series (PASS). Both the ACT Late Models and the PASS North Super Late Models will run 150-lap features. The PASS Modifieds, Wicked Cool Midgets, and Oxford Street Stocks will also be in action. Post time is 2:00pm, with the main gates opening at 9:30am. Admission for the full program is $30 for adults and $15 for juniors ages 6-12.

CHARLOTTE, NC (April 13) – After a season high 34 cars attempted to qualify for the prestigious Easter Bunny 150 at Hickory Motor Speedway, Pro All Stars Series (PASS) South Super Late Model and Pro Late Model teams are now preparing to make their way South Carolina's Grand Strand. The Bash At The Beach 2 on Saturday, April 25^th at Myrtle Beach Speedway will be the fourth event of the 2015 season for both the PASS South Super Late Models and PASS Pro Late Models.

Myrtle Beach Speedway was known as a Super Late Model-type track for nearly 50 years. From the time the legendary facility opened back in 1958 to the mid-1990's, Late Model Sportsman cars, very similar to today's PASS South Super Late Models. Local heroes like Sam Ard, Jimmy Hatchell, Eddie Goodson, Robert Powell, and even the late Dale Earnhardt raced in the division regularly at Myrtle Beach Speedway. Even nearby Dillon Motor Speedway's promoter, Ron Barfield, graduated from being a champion Late Model Stock driver to a top contender in the Late Model Sportsman division at Myrtle Beach. From 1993 through 1995, legendary promoter Bob Harmon promoted 400-lap All Pro Series epics at Myrtle Beach won by short track legends such as Jody Ridley and Gary St. Amant. In 2012, Myrtle Beach Speedway saw a resurgence under its new ownership group headed by Bob Lutz. After a long hiatus, PASS returned Super Late Model racing to the beach in 2013, with Kyle Grissom edging Austin Theriault and Johnny Sauter for the victory.

PASS South's visit to Myrtle Beach Speedway will certainly be one of the toughest challenges teams will face all year. By short track standards, the .538 mile D-shaped layout of Myrtle Beach Speedway will be the biggest track the PASS South Super Late Models will compete on all year. But, Myrtle Beach is perhaps more famous for its abrasive surface which chews up tires similar to a cheese grader.

Myrtle Beach Speedway is also one of the most anticipated venues on the circuit due to its proximity to the world famous Grand Strand. Myrtle Beach has become one of the nation's most desired tourist destinations and will give fans and racers alike a chance to relax while away from all the action at the track.

Action begins on Friday, April 24 with optional practice starting at 3 PM for the PASS South Super Late Models, PASS Pro Late Models, Pee Dee/Coastal Supertrucks, and Vintage Modifieds. On Saturday, April 25 pit gates open at Myrtle Beach Speedway at 11 AMwith rotating practice starting at 1 PM, followed by qualifying at 4 PM, and feature racing at 6 PM.
