Autumn Colours Classic Brings the Best of the Best to Peterborough Speedway

No matter where they might have spent the 2017 regular season, there isn't a racer anywhere in the province who wouldn't love to add an Autumn Colours Classic championship to their resume. Ontario's premier auto racing event celebrates its 25^th anniversary – October 6^th, 7^th and 8^th – at Peterborough Speedway.

From green flag to checkered, this is the motorsports experience that packs the pits and fills the grandstands at Canada's Toughest 3^rd of a Mile Paved Oval. Track champions, seasoned veterans and raw rookies alike from north, south, east and west will converge on the popular Central Ontario venue, in search of one of the most coveted prizes in the sport. Over the 3 days of action, fans will see close to 10 divisions and nearly 120 drivers tackle the track.

After their performance at the Chase for the Colours Qualifier – Sunday, July 2^nd – Griffin Powell, Kris Khan and Anthony DiBello will start from the inside of the front row in the Battlefield Equipment Rental 4Fun, Jiffy Lube Mini Stock and Thunder Car feature events respectively. 2016 track champion Rick Spencer-Walt will roll from the pole in the 75 lap Organics & Glass Late Model 'A' main.

"This could be one of the biggest post seasons we've ever had," said Peterborough Speedway owner/promoter J.P. Josiasse. "2017 is the track's 50^th Anniversary and this is the 25^th year for the Autumn Colours Classic. Winning the title will come with a little extra spark this year than it ever has before."

The 3-day fall festival of speed at the tight, tricky bullring on Mount Pleasant Road, west of the Liftlock City gets rolling Friday, October 6^th. Things start-off with pre-event technical inspection and practice sessions, followed by the first round of qualifying for the Battlefield Equipment Rental 4Fun, Jiffy Lube Mini Stock, Thunder Car, Organics & Glass Late Model, Pro Late Model and OSCAAR Modified divisions. Also on the docket will be Young Guns Races for Mini Stock and Thunder Car teams, presented by APC Auto Parts. Pit Gates will open at 10:00, with general admission spectator grandstands unlocked at 5:00 and the first heat race heading to the line at 6:00.

Land of Legends Raceway in Canandaigua, NY Joins DIRTcar Racing Banner

CONCORD, NC — Sept. 8, 2017 — The race track formerly known as Canandaigua Speedway will join the DIRTcar Racing sanctioning banner in 2018 as Land of Legends Raceway.

The Ontario County Fair Board and promoter Paul Cole have signed a deal for 2018 and '19 for the operation of the speedway in Canandaigua, NY. The track will now be managed and operated as Land of Legends Raceway, building off of the longtime nickname of the famed half-mile race track.

"Our plan is to bring the racing experience to new levels for fans, racers and sponsors," said Cole. "Canandaigua has a long tradition of great racing, and we hope to continue that with bigger purses and exciting shows, and to build a desire for every racing fan to put the Land of Legends on their weekly list of things to do."

Building on the speedway's long history with DIRTcar Racing, Cole expects the DIRTcar Racing sanction to bring ample creditability and fairness to the Raceway, and set the expectations for competitors and fans when they visit.

"DIRTcar Racing brings the best of the best to the local tracks," said Cole. "It provides a stable and powerful structure to Big-Block Modified and Sportsman Modified racing across the Northeast."

Cole hopes to bring "fairness, safety, and fun" to the Raceway in 2018 and beyond. "If we don't address those things I'm not doing my job as a promotor," he said. "And DIRTcar brings a lot of this to the table."

Barre, Vt. – Due to an inclement forecast, Thunder Road officials have postponed the Community College of Vermont (CCV) Championship Night that was scheduled for Friday, September 8. The event has been rescheduled for Sunday, September 10 at 2:00pm.

It is the third time this year that CCV Night has been postponed due to weather. The event was originally scheduled for June 29.

"While the forecasted rain might let off by the evening hours, it is expected to be followed by a combination of cool temperatures and humid conditions," Thunder Road co-owner Cris Michaud said. "As a result, the track conditions will be considerably less than ideal for our drivers, and the viewing conditions will be less than ideal for our fans. With the championships in three divisions on the line, we want to give everyone the best possible situation for racing."

CCV Championship Night will be the final point-counting event of the year for the Thunder Road Late Models, Lenny's Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers, and Allen Lumber Street Stocks. Extra-distance features will be on the card for all divisions with 65 laps for the Late Models, 50 laps for the Flying Tigers, and 35 laps for the Street Stocks.

Qualifying for the final round of the 2017 "King of the Road" championship chase begins at 2:00pm on Sunday, September 10. The pits will open at 10:30am and the front gates will open at 12:15pm. Admission is $12 for adults, $3 for kids ages 6-12, and $25 for a family of four (2 adults, 2 kids).

Le champion « Nascar Sportsman St-Eustache 2017 » fera face au champion « Sportsman Québec 2017 » pour le premier titre de l'histoire de la série « Nascar Late Model Camions Freightliner Québec/Camion Western Star Lévis » à l'autodrome Chaudière ce samedi 16 septembre prochain lors de la journée Habitation Dany Lagacé. Toute une journée de course à prévoir.

Pour l'occasion, en plus de la course prévue à l'horaire, il y aura lareprise de la course du 5 août dernier, mais dans un format de 75 tours présenté par Gestion Roy Électrique.

Nous aurons donc 2 courses, distinctes, de 75 tours chacune.

Wow, toute une fin de saison prévue pour votre plaisir à l'autodrome Chaudière. Ce sera LA JOURNÉE de l'été, à n'en pas douter…

Steve Côté #1, est l'actuel meneur au championnat avec 13 points d'avance sur son poursuivant Samuel Charland #41. Saura-t-il conserver ou accroître son avance, lui qui a vu un Charland très bien préparé à la dernière course. Avec 2 épreuves la même journée, tout est possible quand on sait qu'une victoire pourrait donner jusqu'à 41 points.

Mais la lutte est tellement serrée entre ces 2 pilotes, que nul ne peut prévoir la suite. Quelques statistiques où il y a égalité un peu partout.

Steve Côté et Samuel Charland comptent 8 podiums et 4 victoires chacun.

La seule différence se situe au niveau des tops 5 où Côté en compte un de plus, avec 9 en 9 courses. À noter qu'une seule course a échappé à l'un de ces 2 pilotes au cours de la saison jusqu'ici.

Alex Labbé, pilote de la série ACT et Pinty's, sera de la partie dans la voiture de l'équipe Larue. Cet ancien champion ACT est aussi en tête de la prestigieuse série Pinty's en ce moment. Il a d'ailleurs terminé en 2^e position de la course Pinty's au mois de juin, ici même à l'Autodrome Chaudière. Il ne serait pas surprenant que d'autres pilotes de cette série soient présents ce 16 septembre.

Il faudra être sur place pour voir toute cette action pour une dernière fois cette saison !

The 358 Modifieds first take to the 5/8th-mile Oswego Speedway on Wednesday, Oct. 4 at 3 p.m. during opening rounds of practice.

Thursday's qualifying session, scheduled to start shortly after 1 p.m., will set the first six positions of the The Great Outdoors RV 150. Friday Night's Twin 25s will set the next 24 positions for the 358 Modifieds. The Last Chance Showdown will roll off Saturday, Oct. 7 at 1 p.m., with The Great Outdoors RV 150 scheduled to start at 2 p.m.

NAPA Super DIRT Week returns to Oswego Speedway for its second year. The "Steel Palace" – a 0.625-mile, asphalt oval – will be transformed into the "Clay Palace" by nearly 600 truckloads of clay. The week will kick off with early parking for campers on Sunday, Oct. 1. Early Bird tech inspection for all classes and competitors starts on Monday, Oct. 2. On-track activities will begin shortly after the procession of cars through the streets of Oswego on Wednesday, Oct. 4 at roughly 12 p.m.

CONCORD, N.C. — Sept 7, 2017 — World Racing Group has announced penalties in DIRTcar Racing. Per the rulebooks and the integrity of the sport, such infractions shall be announced. Members in good standing have the right to appeal the decision to the World Racing Group Appeals Commission as provided in Section 12 of the General Rules and Specifications.

DIRTcar Racing:

Chuck Towslee, a driver in the DIRTcar Northeast Pro Stock has violated Section 15.0-C; 15.1 B,C,D; 11.0-A; 11.1 A&I of the 2017 DIRTcar Racing Rule Book.

15.0-C DIRTcar Sportsman Modified
ANY CAR, TEAM AND/OR DRIVER THAT DOES NOT MEET THESE SPECIFICATIONS AND/OR EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS WILL BE SUBJECT TO PENALTIES AS DETERMINED BY THE DIRTcar and/or World Racing Group OFFICIALS.

15.1 Engines
B.) The engine and all components must remain in their original configuration and form as purchased and/or delivered from the factory. Any alterations to the engine will not be permitted. The Engine must remain as manufactured by General Motors with a stock 4"-inch bore. Overbore(s) will not be permitted. Sleeve repair may be permitted with written permission from DIRTcar and/or World Racing Group Officials.
C.) All engines are to remain sealed from the factory. The original factory seals must remain unaltered, Tampering, removal, modifications of any type and/or broken factory seals will not be permitted. The GM Engine must remain unaltered in any way.
D.) The GM Crate Engine seals (bolt-type) must remain unaltered. DIRTcar and/or World Racing Group Officials may require specific sealing and verification of all seals on any GM Crate Engine. Tampering with and/or alteration of any seals will not be permitted and is subject to immediate penalty and/or suspension.

11.0 Penalties, Fine Schedules and Protests

A. The Super DIRTcar Series and/or DIRTcar conducts itself as the top Modified Racing Series in North America and expects its members to conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times during any event and/or when representing the series. Car Owners, Drivers and Crew Chiefs are responsible for the conduct of their team members and/or anyone connected to or affiliated with that owner's team, in addition to being responsible for all infractions, technical and/or non-technical in nature. In the event that a penalty is issued, only active DIRTcar Members in good standing, have the right to an appeal, if the penalty is appealable. All fines that are listed in sub-section 11.1 are

11.1 Penalties and Fine Schedules
A. All fines may be collected from prize money on the day of the infraction. If the competitor has not won appropriate money, the fine must be paid in full before the car and/or driver participates in another Super DIRTcar Series and/or DIRTcar sanctioned event.

I. Any member that violates any technical rule as presented within the rulebook and/or issued in a written bulletin will be subject to disqualification and/or fine and/or suspension and/or loss of points and/or any other action deemed appropriate by Super DIRTcar Series and/or DIRTcar Officials and/or World Racing Group Supervisory Officials..

a.) The penalty schedule for any violations "technical in nature will be as follows;

1. In the event of any illegal internal modification to any Chevrolet Performance Parts Crate Engine and/or DIRTcar Spec Engine and/or tampering of any manufacturer and/or DIRTcar seal a maximum of a 1-year suspension and/or indefinite probation period and/or the engine will be impounded immediately and/or a minimum penalty of $3,500 and/or loss of all earnings based on the current race season, including but not limited to points, point fund awards and/or or race winnings. In the event the driver is suspended from a division utilizing the GM crate engine and/or DIRTcar spec engine, the driver maybe offered the opportunity to move up in division to continue participation after serving a suspension deemed appropriate by Super DIRTcar and or DIRTcar officials. The offer will only come from a World Racing Group supervisory official. This decision is final and non-appealable.

2. For subsequent violations in regard to any illegal internal modification to any Chevrolet Performance Parts Crate Engine and/or DIRTcar Spec Engine an indefinite suspension will be issued.

As a result, Towslee has been suspended one year from all DIRTcar tracks and/or events effective 8/19/2017 Competitor may apply for re instatement 8/19/2018, loss of points and Earnings from 8/19/2017 event and fined $3,500.00 or loss of motor to be paid before reinstatement to DIRTcar.

Appeal Results:

Towslee's appeal was heard on Tuesday, September 5, 2017, the World Racing Group Appeal Commission has determined to modify the original penalty that was issued to you regarding the violation of the DIRTcar Racing Event Procedures as follows:

Penalty / Fine:
• Suspended from all DIRTcar tracks and/or events effective 8/19/2017
• May return to competition after 6/30/2018
• Loss of points and Earnings from 8/19/2017 event.
• $3,500.00 fine or loss of motor to be paid before reinstatement to DIRTcar.

Barre, Vt. – The final point-counting event of the season at Barre's Thunder Road is set for this Friday, September 8 at 7:00pm with Community College of Vermont (CCV) Championship Night. The Thunder Road Late Models, Lenny's Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers, and Allen Lumber Street Stocks will all crown their champions at the Friday night affair that was previously postponed due to weather.

As part of the CCV Championship Night special, all three divisions will run extra-distance features. The Late Models will cap the night with a 65-lap main event, while the Flying Tigers and Street Stocks will run 50 and 35 laps, respectively.

Hinesburg's Bobby Therrien leads a two-man battle in the Thunder Road Late Models to become the 2017 "King of the Road". Therrien has a 31-point lead over South Burlington's Trampas Demers and would become the first driver in the track's modern era to win championships in three different divisions. He previously won the Allen Lumber Street Stock championship in 2007 and the Lenny's Shoe & Apparel Flying Tiger title in 2012.

"It would mean the world to me to get all three championships for the ladder system that Thunder Road has built," Therrien said. "Going into the summer, (the Late Model title) was our goal, but it was a very high goal that we set, and we're on the verge of being able to do it. To be able to get a championship not only for myself, but for the team, would mean a lot. We just have to continue doing what we've been doing. We've gotten in this position by having a strong second half of the season, so going into Friday night, we're going to have the same attitude as the rest of the summer. We always show up to win, but we have a bigger picture in mind, so hopefully we'll be able to have another solid night and be able to wrap it up."

Therrien opened the season with a win in the Mekkelsen RV Memorial Day Classic on May 28 and has remained at the top of the standings for most of the summer, bolstered in part by five Maplewood Semi-Feature victories. Demers emerged as a serious title contender with his victory in the VP Racing Fuels Vermont Governor's Cup on July 13 and has stayed near the front thanks to a division-leading seven podium finishes.

The fight for the rest of the top-10 in points is hotly contested as well. Barre's Jason Corliss leads a three-way clash for third between fellow Barre racer Cody Blake and Milton's Scott Dragon with the trio separated by 31 total points. Other drivers such as Wolcott's Marcel J. Gravel and Westford's Darrell Morin are looking to secure career-best final points positions with strong runs on Friday.

In the Lenny's Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers, former champions Jason Woodard of Waterbury Center and Brendan Moodie of Wolcott will decide the 2017 title. Woodard has a 24-point advantage over Moodie on the strength of four feature victories, which is tied with Hinesburg's Trevor Lyman for the division lead. Moodie led the standings for much of the season after winning the Memorial Day opener and has remained in the hunt by posting a division-leading 12 top-five finishes.

Morrisville's Dwayne Lanphear is 74 points back of the lead in third and would need Woodard to miss the feature on Friday in order to keep his title hopes alive. Lyman is 16 points behind Lanphear in fourth, while Myers Container Service Triple Crown Champion Mike Martin completes the top five.

The Allen Lumber Street Stock championship duel is one of the closest in recent memory as four drivers sit within 13 points of the top spot. It is also a highly diverse contest with two division veterans going against two teenage competitors in their sophomore seasons.

Wolcott's Jamie Davis, the 2015 Street Stock champion, currently holds a two-point lead over 19-year-old Cooper Bouchard of Hinesburg. Longtime contender Alan Maynard of Fairfax rides five points behind Davis in third. Sixteen-year-old Kelsea Woodard of Waterbury Center rounds out the quartet in a bid to join her father Jason Woodard as Thunder Road champions.

The final round of the 2017 Thunder Road championship bouts goes to post at 7:00pm this Friday, September 8. The pits will open at 3:30pm and the front gates will open at 5:15pm. Admission for CCV Championship Night is $12 for adults, $3 for kids ages 6-12, and $25 for a family of four (2 adults, 2 kids).

DIRTcar Pro Stock Series Invades Airborne

PLATTSBURGH – The DIRTcar Pro Stock Series will invade the Airborne Park Speedway this Sunday at 5 p.m. In addition, a $1,000 to win Sportsman race plus Rev Star divisions will be a part of the racing card presented by Champlain Peterbilt and Great Northern Supply.

Rob Yetman of Castleton, leads the current point standings by 258 points. The "Big Cat" has scored three wins in seven tries on the 2017 season. Jocelyn Roy, Nick Stone, Steven LaRochelle and Robbie Speed have collected one win apiece.

The Sportsman special event will pay $1,000 to the winner and all other finishing position payouts will be doubled from the regular Fidelis Care Sportsman payout. 30 cars will qualify for the 50-lap race with provisional starting spots for all 2017 DIRTcar Sportsman Champions.

RevStar STR and Slingshots will be in attendance on Sunday. Sabrina Blancet of Quebec City, PQ picked up the STR victory at Airborne back on June 17. Blanchet will be back to stand her ground. Plattsburgh's Codie Aubin will jump into her backup No. 79s and do double duty with his Sportsman car.

Point battles are still taking place in the Poirier's True Value Renegades, Busch Beer Mini-Mods and Strictly Stocks. All three of the support classes will run features only on Sunday evening.

Racing action takes the green flag at 5 p.m. with grandstands opening at 3 and pit gates opening at 2. Un programme de courses dès plus excitants attend les amateur samedi à l'Autodrome St-Eustache. En plus de la visite annuelle de la série élite NASCAR canadienne Pinty's, les divisions de la Whelen All American Series seront également en piste. En effet, des finales dans les divisions NASCAR Sportsman Lucas Oil, Légende Modifiée Thérien Performance, Sport Compacte MRQ présentée par ZSB Distribution et Challenge 4 Perry Performance seront du programme le 9 septembre.

NASCAR Pinty's

Malgré que la série Pinty's ne présente pas d'imposant peloton de voitures sur les pistes ovales depuis quelques saisons, ont ne peut pas dire que la qualité du spectacle est directement relié au nombre de voitures en piste. Avec la crème des pilotes en piste, le spectacle est des plus excitant et on assiste à de nombreux rebondissements. La majorité des pilotes peuvent rivaliser pour la victoire, et n'ont pas peur de bousculer leurs adversaires au passage. Une recette gagnante qui prouve que c'est la qualité et non pas la quantité des ingrédients qu'on y ajoute, qui fait le régal des amateurs.

Kevin Lacroix #74 de St-Eustache, rentre à la maison fort d'une victoire convaincante le weekend dernier au Canadian Tire Motorsport Park. 2e au championnat, il devra prendre les bouchées double lors des 2 dernières épreuves de la saison pour tenter de déloger Alex Labbé #32 de Victoriaville de la tête du classement général. Détenteur du record de piste en temps chronométrés à l'ASE, et maitrisant à souhait les circuits ovales, il voudra assurément consolider son avance au championnat de la série NASCAR canadienne. Vainqueur au GP3R, Alex Tagliani #18 de Lachenaie pourrait causer des surprises à l'avant alors qu'Andrew Ranger #27 de Roxton Pond, n'ayant plus rien à perdre cette saison, souhaiterait bien parader dans le cercle des vainqueurs avant la fin du calendrier 2017. Plusieurs autres pilotes lutteront pour la victoire entre les murs de l'Autodrome St-Eustache. Notons le vainqueur de l'édition 2016 du Lucas Oil 250 et champion en titre Pinty's, le jeune Cayden Lapcevich #76 de Grimsby Ont, les frères Dumoulin, LP et JF #47-#04 de Trois-Rivières et l'ontarien DJ Kennington #17 de St-Thomas, qui connait très bien la piste des Basses-Laurentides.

NASCAR Sportsman Lucas Oil

Le nom à retenir en 2017 est sans équivoque celui de Steve Côté de l'Ile Bizard. Le pilote de la Toyota #1 aura réussi à la conduire jusqu'à la plus haute marche du podium lors de toutes les épreuves de la saison 2017 à l'exception d'une seule reprise. Jusqu'à présent, seul Sylvain Lacombe #3 de Terrebonne, sera parvenu à ''déranger'' Côté à l'avant du peloton. Si Lacombe aura couru de façon sporadique cette année, un autre pilote ''occasionnel'' pourrait venir brouiller les cartes samedi après-midi. Stéphane Aubin #26 de Boisbriand, a été convaincant à chacune de ses quelques présences cette saison, et il n'attendra certainement pas la dernière course de la saison le 17 septembrepour tenter de remporter la victoire. Beaucoup d'action à prévoir avec la vingtaine de pilotes en piste samedi.

En NASCAR Sport Compacte MRQ présentée par ZSB Distribution, l'action ne manquera pas la non plus, alors que le meneur au championnat, Robin Harrisson #3 de Laplaine, revient de l'Autodrome Montmagny gonflé à bloc, fier vainqueur du titre faisant de lui le meilleur pilote Sport Compacte 2017 de la région de Québec, le weekend dernier. Yannick Miron #90 de Ste-Marthe-sur-le-Lac, est prêt à se battre samedi pour la victoire, lui qui ne veut pas laisser filer un autre championnat dans cette division. Du côté de la série NASCAR Légende Modifiée Thérien Performance, le champion en titre, Stéphane Caron #99 de Laval, espère consolider son avance au classement de la série. Parions que Jessy Lambert #64 et Sébastien Lapolice #11 tenteront de freiner les ardeurs du vétéran lavallois. Pour compléter la programmation de cette journée, une finale est prévue pour les pilotes de la division Challenge 4 Perry Performance. Keven Huet #05 de Ste-Sophie est en voie de réaliser une saison parfaite, lui qui cumule les victoires depuis le 21 mai dernier. Rien n'est terminer tant que ce n'est pas fini, disait un certain Jean Raffa…

Une journée à ne pas manquer pour les amateurs de courses québécois ce samedi à l'Autodrome St-Eustache. Pour l'occasion, les portes s'ouvriront à 10h30 pour les gens détenteurs de billets pour les paddocks alors que les estrades générales seront accessibles dès 11h00. Les finales des séries locales auront lieu à 14h00 alors que la finale NASCAR Sportsman Lucas Oil est prévue à 18h15. Les amateurs sont invités à rencontrer leurs pilotes NASCAR Pinty's favoris lors d'une séance d'autographe à 19h15 en prélude du départ de la course à 20h30. Barre, Vt. – St. Albert, Qué.'s Alex Labbé has filed the first official entry for the 55^th Vermont Milk Bowl presented by Northfield Savings Bank on Saturday, September 30 and Sunday, October 1. The 2014 Serié ACT Champion will look to become the first Canadian driver since 2008 to win the historic event.

Labbé is an 11-time Serié ACT winner and currently leads the NASCAR Pinty's Series standings. He was the polesitter for the 2013 Vermont Milk Bowl and is aiming for his first victory in "The Toughest Short-Track Stock Car Race in North America".

Nearly 30 entries have already been received for the unique $10,000-to-win event. Three-time Milk Bowl winners Nick Sweet of Barre and Patrick Laperle of St-Denis, Qué. have filed entries along with current Thunder Road Late Model point leader Bobby Therrien of Hinesburg, American-Canadian Tour (ACT) point leader Scott Payea of Milton, and newly crowned Serié ACT Champion Jonathan Bouvrette of Blainville, Qué. Dillon Moltz, Trampas Demers, Jason Corliss, and Scott Dragon are among the others who have entered.

The action will kick off on Saturday, September 30 at 1:00pm with Booth Bros./H.P. Hood Milk Bowl Qualifying Day. Late Model time trials and "Triple 50" qualifying races will help set the Milk Bowl starting field. The Lenny's Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers, Allen Lumber Street Stocks, and New England Dwarf Cars will have time trials and Segment 1 of their two-segment "Mini Milk Bowls", while the Burnett Scrap Metals Road Warriors are on the card for a special Saturday-only event.

The 55^th Vermont Milk Bowl presented by Northfield Savings Bank goes to post on Sunday, October 1 at 1:00pm. The day will begin with the Last Chance "B" Feature to determine the final starting spots in Segment 1 of the Milk Bowl. Segments 2 and 3 will be set by inverting the finish of the previous segment. The driver with the best combined finish in all three segments will be the overall winner. The Lenny's Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers, Allen Lumber Street Stocks, and New England Dwarf Cars will crown their Mini Milk Bowl Champions on Sunday as well.

Admission for the Vermont Milk Bowl is just $30 for a two-day ticket or $10 for Saturday-only. The front gates will open at10:00am both days. An optional practice day for the Thunder Road Late Models, Lenny's Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers, and Allen Lumber Street Stocks is scheduled for Friday, September 29 from 1:00pm to 5:00pm with the pit gates opening at12:00pm.

Eastern Ontario Legends Series Packs for a Fall Classic Road Trip at Grand Bend Speedway

East meets west as the Trailers Plus Eastern Ontario Legends Series goes head-to-head against its western counterparts – Saturday and Sunday, September 9^th and 10^th – for the Fall Classic at Grand Bend Speedway.

After a spring and summer of turning fans onto its exciting brand of motorsports entertainment, EOLS officials and teams are looking forward to being part of the first ever points-paying event for a travelling series to be staged at the Western Ontario facility. Jeff Drimmie – speaking on behalf of the Eastern Ontario Legends Series group that also includes Andrew McFadden, Geordie Ledson and Kevin Foisy – says it promises to be an popular weekend.

"The Saturday event at the oval will offer points and bragging rights for drivers following both the Eastern and Western Series tours," Drimmie stated. "Sunday will be a non-points event on the road course that will also serve a test session to look at the possibility of adding something different to the schedule for the 2018 campaign."

In the Eastern Division standings, Matt Haufe looks to have a lock on the 2017 championship, as the Stittsville, Ontario standout holds a comfortable cushion of almost 183 points over second place running Adam Cuthbertson. Wes Cuthbertson is 3^rd in the standings, less than 70 points behind his brother. Robin Jongen has taken checkered flags on both the Western and Eastern Series tours. He took the win Saturday, July 15^th at Sauble and Saturday, August 5^th in the National Qualifier at Sunset Speedway.
