Pro All Stars Series news: PASS North Beech Ridge preview
For Immediate release: Media contact Norm Desjardins @ (603) 387-5598 Beech Ridge a key stop in the heart of the 2010 PASS North schedule NAPLES ME (7/7/10) Mother Nature has turned up the thermostat and so has the Pro All Stars Series as the toughest month of the super late model schedule moves on to Scarborough Maine’s Beech Ridge Motor Speedway on Saturday July 10. Beech Ridge is the second stop of a five race month for the super late models and it’s likely that many teams will measure thei seasons’ success based on their results in July. |
The family focused oval produces some of the closest racing around and the Beech Ridge Pro Series regulars that often come out to challenge the touring teams are always competitive. 2009 track champion Mike Rowe, Aaron Ricker, Chuck Colby, and a whole lot more are well capable of running up front. Former PASS North regular Mike Rowe whipped up on the field in the series’ first 2010 appearance at the immaculate Holmes Road oval. The 2006 PASS South Champion came from 28th in the field to deny Adam Bates and Ben Rowe the Sunoco checkered flag Adam Bates’ last PASS super late model win came in the 2009 edition of this event, and the Warner New Hampshire speedster is hungry for another. The team looked good at Beech Ridge in the spring, and they are coming off a top five at Canaan Fair Speedway over the holiday weekend. Ben Rowe earned his first win of 2010 at Canaan Fair and his team will be looking to get a win streak of their own started, after denying Johnny Clark a record breaking four straight PASS North SLM victories. Richie Dearborn earned a podium finish last weekend, and the Dick and Deb Dearborn owned team will try to build on that momentum at Beech Ridge. Rookie point leader Joey Doiron has to be ready to get back to familiar territory Saturday night; Doiron crossed the stripe fourth at Beech Ridge in the spring, his best result to date. Donnie Whitten has been coming on strong in recent weeks with top tens at Unity, Speedway 660 and Canaan. PASS fans have to be wondering when Trevor Sanborn will finally earn a PASS North win. He’s led a pile of laps but hasn’t been able to seal the deal for Richard Moody’s team, even though they’ve scored twice in PASS South competition. There are plenty of other potential winners. Johnny Clark wants to score at a track that he readily admits isn’t one of his best. Clark earned his first feature win at White Mountain Motorsports Park in May after many years of trying. He will try to duplicate that feat at Beech Ridge. The PASS Mods are slated for a 40 lap feature Saturday night. Chris Staples won the season opener with Wayne Whitten Jr. and Jon Brill hot on his heats. The speedway’s own Sport Series, Wildcats and Road Runners will all be in action. Post time on Saturday July 10 is 6:00 PM. Tuesday July 13th the PASS super late models are joined by the PASS Mod and Sportsman series at Lee (NH) USA Speedway, then its a trip to southern New England for round three of the five race PASS National Championship series for the super late models on Thursday night July 22nd at Thompson (CT) Speedway. On Saturday July 31 Summerfest 2010 at Groveton New Hampshire’s Riverside Speedway will round out the month’s schedule for both the super late models and the Mod squad.
