Fans And Racers Looking Forward To Easter Bunny 150 Welcome Party At Iron Thunder

CHARLOTTE, NC (March 31) – To celebrate 10 years of one short track racing's great events, Pro All Stars Series (PASS) fans and racers will have the opportunity to gather together Thursday night at Iron Thunder Saloon & Grill in Hickory for the Easter Bunny 150 Welcome Party.  The event will be open to everyone starting at 6:30 PM and will give fans a chance to chat with some of their favorite racers and check out some of the cars that will be competing Saturday night at Hickory Motor Speedway.  PASS Super Late Model, PASS Pro Late Model, and Must See Racing Sprint Car drivers and machines will be at Iron Thunder Saloon & Grill Thursday night, along with a live band, to help kickoff the 10th Annual Easter Bunny 150.

            "You know, the Easter Bunny 150 has really become one of the biggest races of the year and Iron Thunder is a place a lot of our fans and racers like to attend when they're in town for the race," said PASS President Tom Mayberry.  "The first PASS South event ever held was at Hickory and we felt like this was a great way to celebrate 10 years of the Easter Bunny 150.  With the Must See Sprints joining us and everything we've got going on at the track Friday and Saturday night, this was a great way to welcome everyone into town."

            Iron Thunder Saloon & Grill is a favorite destination for the PASS contingent when the series comes to town and is glad to welcome every into town with lots of good food, drinks, and fun.

            "PASS is helping kick off our Thursday bike night with the Racers Welcome Party by sending over some incredible race cars and drivers that will be signing autographs.  We hope everyone will come out and enjoy the fun," said Niki Watkins of Iron Thunder Saloon & Grill.

            Iron Thunder has several other area locations in addition to Hickory, including Concord and Mooresville, NC.  Some of the drivers currently planning to attend are 3-time PASS National Champion, Ben Rowe, inaugural Easter Bunny 150 winner, Mike Rowe, PASS South Super Late Model points leader, Zane Smith, along with Jody Measamer, Tate Fogleman, PASS Pro Late Model racers Zachary Dabbs and Matt Murphy, and Must See Racing Sprint Car driver Jimmy McCune, who is excited to get his season started at a new track for him.

            "It looks like it's going to be a fun racetrack, we seem to excel at these small bullrings and I like going to new venues," says McCune.    "We've always had a lot of success going to new venues, I've been able to capture a few wins.  It's always a challenge going to new place, but I love a challenge."

The Easter Bunny 150 Welcome Party will kick off a big weekend of action in on Thursday nightApril 2 from 6:30 – 8:30 PMat Iron Thunder Saloon and Grill in Hickory with an opportunity for fans to chat with drivers and check out their fast machines.  Then, on Friday afternoon, April 3 there will be practice for the PASS Super Late Models, Must See Racing Sprint Cars and support divisions at Hickory Motor Speedway, be followed by twin 25 lap qualifying races for the Must See Racing Sprint Cars and features for the PASS Pro Late Models and Legends cars.  Then, on Saturday, April 4, the PASS Super Late Models will compete in the 10th Annual Easter Bunny 150 along with the 40 lap "Southern Showdown" for the Must See Racing Xtreme Sprint Cars and features for the USAC HPD Eastern Midgets, PASS Pro Late Models, and Legends.
