Lee, South Boston On Tap For Busy PASS Weekend Of Action

-       For Immediate Release

NAPLES, ME (August 11) – Pro All Stars Series (PASS) Super Late Model racers up and down the East Coast will be busy at two of the premier circuits on the schedule this weekend.  New England's best will go head-to-head on Friday night at Lee USA Speedway in New Hampshire, while the PASS South stars will end their Summer break and return to action at Virginia's South Boston Speedway on Saturday night.

The Granite State will be the host for the PASS North Super Late Models and PASS Modifieds on Friday night at Lee USA Speedway in their final test prior to the 43rd Annual HP Hood Oxford 250 at the end of the month.  Granite State favorite, DJ Shaw, comes to Lee as the defending race winner and with a 50-point advantage over his nearest competitor for the championship, Mike Hopkins.  Fellow New Hampshire driver Jeremy Davis, who finished third at Lee last year, will be seeking his first win this season, along with former series champions, Johnny Clark and Mike Rowe.  Former HP Hood Oxford 250 winners, Ben Rowe and Travis Benjamin, will each be seeking their second wins of the season, while Todd Stone, Derek Griffith, and last year's runner-up, Derek Ramstrom, have also filed entries.

The following night, the South's original and toughest Super Late Model tour will be back from their Summer hiatus when PASS South tackles South Boston Speedway on Saturday.  Upstart Matt Craig leads the standings by just four markers over rookie Kodie Conner as they make the stretch run in hopes of their first PASS South title.  Likewise, Florida's Dalton Sargeant returns to South Boston Speedway Saturday night, still seeking his first PASS South win, but riding a wave of momentum after capturing his first ARCA checkered flag at Berlin Raceway last weekend.

"Its about time we headed back to South Boston Speedway, after picking up the pole award and then later getting rained out, the #Windows10, Bond Suss Racing team have had this race scheduled on our calendars for months," says Sargeant.  "We had a really good car last time here and have run up front in all of our PASS races so far this season.  It's going to be your typical, tough side-by-side, short track race with a really good field of Super Late Models.  It will definitely be an entertaining show for the fans and fun for us drivers."

Another driver who will be returning to the series this weekend at South Boston will be Dawsonville, GA's, Spencer Davis.  Since 2013 when Davis was the runner-up for the PASS South championship and finished third in PASS National Championship points, Davis has gone on to further prove himself as one of the top short track drivers in the country.  Davis is anxious to return to PASS this weekend as he seeks his first victory in the series.

"I'm really excited to get back into Gary Crooks' car this weekend at South Boston in the PASS race," says Davis.  "I've had success at South Boston in the past and Gary has too so we should be able to contend for the win.  I really enjoy racing with the Crooks Racing team as well as racing Tom Mayberry's series, so it should be a good weekend."

One of the strongest fields in recent history at South Boston Speedway is expected this weekend, including veteran Jimmy Doyle and the return of rookie Vinnie Miller.  David Gilliland Racing returns with two new drivers this weekend, Idaho's Hannah Newhouse and talented youngster Chase Purdy.  PASS National Championship contender John-Michael Shenette also returns as well as Tyler Ankrum, who will be making his second PASS South start of the season.

Action kicks off this weekend when the PASS North Super Late Models and PASS Modifieds hit the track for practice at Lee USA Speedway at 4 PM.  Heat races will begin at 6:30 PM, followed by features for the PASS North Super Late Models, PASS Modifieds, Late Model Sportsman, North East Classic Lites, Super Modifieds, Hobby and Ironman.

The PASS South Super Late Models will have an optional practice at South Boston Speedway on Friday from 9 AM to 5 PMOn Saturday, practice will begin at 2 PM, followed by qualifying at 5 PM, Fan Appreciation at 6 PM, and Twin 75s for the NASCAR Late Model Stocks and the 150 lap main event for the PASS South Super Late Models starting at 7 PM.
