VEGAS RAT RODS ALUMNUS GRANT SCHWARTZ RETURNING TO TORONTO MOTORAMA SHOW

VEGAS RAT RODS ALUMNUS GRANT SCHWARTZ
RETURNING TO TORONTO MOTORAMA SHOW

March 13, 14 & 15, 2020 at Toronto's International Centre

TORONTO, ON // FEBRUARY 28, 2020 • Following a two-year stint as a member of Steve Darnell's WelderUp / Vegas Rat Rods fabricating staff, Grant Schwartz returned home to Elmira, Ontario to concentrate on "doing my own thing."

"Working on the TV show was completely different from anything else I've ever done," said Schwartz. "But it was a great learning experience. Everyone builds in their own fashion and watching the way those extremely talented people work – and seeing the different tricks they use to get to a finished project – has translated into some great new ideas and procedures for me in my own business."

In an effort to promote Schwartz Welding and to demonstrate his talents and some of those new ideas to custom car hobbyists, Schwartz will return to the 6th Annual Motorama Custom Car & Motorsports Expo with a booth (#M117) in Hall 4 at the International Centre, better known as Mayhem…in the Backroom.

The show runs March 13, 14 & 15 at will fill more than 330,000 square feet of the giant venue, located across from Toronto's Pearson International Airport. And when he isn't at his display, Schwartz will be taking part in various discussions panels and awards presentations on the Pinty's Stage (in Hall 2) and in the Celebrity VIP Meet & Greet sessions, at Motorama.

Proudly describing himself as a 'hands-on' fabricator, Schwartz creates vehicles from "the steering wheel on down" and is currently directing his passion for Hot Rods into a new, focussed venture.

"Almost everything I've done has been associated with Hot Rods. And now, custom-built trucks are getting really popular in the hobby. People are transforming everything from Model A's, to 1950 half-tons… into street rods."

Capitalizing on this trend, some of the on-going projects in the Schwartz Welding fabrication shop include a 1940 Chevy pickup, a 1939 Ford truck as well as a 1949 International.

"What I'm now doing is building and selling a chassis based on a 1970 Ford that I brought home from Vegas Rat Rods. Guys will be able to hang a body from any 1967 to 1979 – long or short box – on my chassis. I will have one of these chassis in my booth in the Mayhem room for the entire weekend. And I'll be there to answer any questions people might have."

Schwartz concluded, "All of my builds have one thing in common, they're all vehicles that are driveable, enjoyable and safe. No 'trailer queens' for me."
