It may have taken a little longer than he'd first anticipated, but Rob Crick can finally call himself a Peterborough Speedway Mini Stock feature race winner.
Wheeling the Daddy and Daughter Racing branded No. 84 machine, the 45-year-old from Oshawa, Ontario took advantage of his pole position starting spot and a potent ride to pose for victory lane photos following the 20-lap make-up main event that had been delayed from June 8th. Even though it took until Saturday, July 20th to finally seal the deal, the driver says it was well worth the wait.
"The car has felt really good this year and I had a feeling that we might be close to landing a win. Last thing I wanted to do was get overconfident," the driver explained. "I've had a lot of support and encouragement from fans, family members and friends. I'm happy to share this success with all of them."

Since making his first local racing start and picking-up a feature race win in the Peterborough Speedway Bone Stock division during the 2017 season, Rob Crick's cars have carried graphic designs inspired by some well-known NASCAR Cup Series paint schemes. From his debut in a No. 11 Denny Hamlin lookalike, to a Bubba Wallace influenced No. 84 and this year's package that was prepared to resemble the colours on a car promoting a Breast Cancer Awareness program that was driven by Kevin Harvick.
"It has been great to find a comfort zone with the car this season," Rob Crick – who currently sits 2nd in the overall point standings. "My daughter Jadyn pitches-in and paints the car and my teammate Chris Tubman has worked behind the scenes and helped put the No. 84 car in a position to get to the winner's circle this year."
Crick – who works in Whitby, Ontario as a mechanic – would like to thank Canadian Tech Air Systems, Lakeside Mobile Tires, Swift Hoist Services, Babin's Auto Repair, Sign Design – Whitby and Eagle Auto Glass, the marketing partners and supporters for being part of the team during the 2024 schedule.
As the regular season winds down, Peterborough Speedway's SwitchTire Mini Stock teams will be a busy bunch. They'll be back on the schedule Saturday, August 3rd and will have 4 events in 5 weekends of racing, including a 50-lap feature Saturday, August 10th.
