For Immediate Release: Media contact Norm Desjardins - racewithpass@yahoo.com

three in a row, seventh of 2011 for the defending series champion

SCARBOROUGH ME (9/18) Johnny Clark reclaimed the lead on lap 220 of Sunday's PASS North 300 presented by Southern Maine Motors.com at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway to earn his seventh win of 2011 and his third in the Pro All Stars Series (PASS)North's richest race. Scott Mulkern charged up through the pack to claim second and home track hero Trevor Sandborn raced home third.

Clark started deep in the pack but by lap 98 he was knocking on leader Donnie Whitten's door. Two laps later he was in control. Clark lost the lead to Lonnie Sommerville for several laps but the five time PASS North champ reclaimed the point and kept it until lap 191 when Seekonk regular Tom Scully Jr. took over. Clark's rubber was worn out, but he got the break he needed when the yellow flew on lap 216.. Rubbered up and race ready, Clark took the lead from Brad Babb ten laps later and was never headed, leading the final seventy four laps despite the best efforts of  both Mulkern and Sanborn.

Clark's win was worth $10,000.00 plus the majority of the lap leader bonuses. His margin of victory was .362 seconds. Eleven of the thirty three starters completed all 300 green flag laps in a race that took just over two hours to complete.

Beech Ridge regulars fared well in the 300 with Sanborn third, Dan McKeage 5th and Aaron Ricker 9th. Brad Babb spent some time in the lead before eventually finishing 12th. Bill Rogers ran up front early before settling for 13th at the checkers.

DJ Shaw, Cassius Clark and Travis Benjamin each won a qualifier. Consolation rounds went to Kelly Moore, Aaron Ricker and Johnny Clark.

The PASS 300 was round four of the six race 2011 PASS National Championship Series, and neither title contenders had a good day. National point leader Ben Rowe finished three laps down in 18th but his nearest challenger, Jay Fogleman was 23rd 26 laps down after encountering mechanical problems shortly after the start.

Both the PASS North and PASS National Championship series move on to North Woodstock's White Mountain Motorsports Park on Saturday September 24. Post time is 6:00 PM.

Pro All Stars Series news - PASS North SLM/Mod Beech Ridge race report

For immediate release: media, contact Norm Desjardins @ (603) 387-5598

Rogers rocks PASS regulars at Beech Ridge - Shaw claims PASS Mod win

NAPLES ME (7/18) Beech Ridge  Pro Series racer Bill Rogers  took advantage of a green-white-checker finish to beat Trevor Sanborn  in  Saturday night’s PASS 150 at  Scarborough Maine’s Beech Ridge Motor Speedway . Cassius Clark, Scott Mulkern and Johnny Clark chased Rogers and Sanborn to the checkers.

Rogers didn’t luck into the win by any means. The Old Orchard Beach racer was fast throughout the night. He took the lead from Scott Chubbuck on lap five and held the spot until Trevor Sanborn took over on lap thirty nine. At the half-way mark it was Sanborn, Rogers, Chubbuck, Scott Mulkern and Cassius Clark leading the way.

Rodgers took back the top spot on a lap 83 restart and stayed there until Sanborn returned the favor when the field went back to green after a lap 118 caution. It looked like Sanborn was in a position to finally claim a PASS North feature win; Rogers was right on his bumper though and Mulkern, Chubbuck and a resurgent Mike Rowe were all battling for position.  Rowe’s night ended early with a disqualification after Chubbuck went around off of Rowe’s front bumper to bring out another caution at lap 132.

Sanborn was in control on the restart and Cassius Clark briefly held second until Rogers came roaring back two laps later. The night’s final caution set up a green-white-checker finish and Rogers now had the preferred outside groove. Rogers took full advantage of his final shot at Sanborn, motoring around the outside to score a very popular home track victory.

A number of drivers had good runs going, only to see accidents spoil their night. Adam Bates, Dave Oliver and Aaron Ricker all ended their race on the hook after a wreck on lap 116, while Scott Chubbuck ran fourth prior to his contact with Mike Rowe. Chubbuck salvaged a tenth place finish.

Roger’s margin of victory was .304 seconds; fourteen cars completed all 150 green flag laps. Heat race wins went to Adam Bates, Scott Chubbuck and Scott Mulkern.

The PASS Mods were in town for a 40 lap feature and Andy Shaw became the first repeat winner of the 2010 season, capturing a hard fought win over Jon Brill. Wayne Whitten finished third with Alan Wilson fourth.  Mike Mayberry had a successful  Mod series debut, starting thirteenth and finishing fifth.

Shaw started shotgun on the fourteen car field but he was in second by the half way mark, ready to battle Brill for the win. The pair raced nose to tail lap after lap until Shaw powered around Brill on the outside for the lead with seven laps remaining.

PASS North hosts round three of the 2010 PASS National Championship series on Thursday evening at Thompson (CT) International Speedway on Thursday July 22nd.   The PASS Mods get back on track Saturday July 24 at Canaan (NH) Fair Speedway.
