Tramps Demers - Le pilote du vermont est un régulier à Thunder Road. L'an dernier il en était à ses premières tentatives sur le circuit ACT Tour et il a eu tout un shock. Configurations de la voiture et ajustement du pilote ont été difficile. Cette année, dans le but d'être plus souvent derrière le volant il a décidé de participer à quelques courses ACT Castrol. À sa première course, à St-Eustache il s'est bien débrouillé. Mais cette fin de semain à l'Autodrome Montmagny... WOW. Il a s'est maintenu dans le top 10 (sur 29 partant) toute la journée et il a même bataillé pour la deuxième place sur une bonne partie du 100 tours. C'est un nouveau pilote... se permettant même d'échanger de la peinture avec les pilotes du Québec... incluant le champion 2008 de l'ACT Tour et champion 2007 de la Série ACT Castrol Patrick Laperle. Les deux pilotes se sont battu pour le même espace sur la piste... pendant l'échange la voiture de Demers est devenue de travers devant celle de Laperle qui à son tour était contre le mur extérieur sur la ligne droie arrière. Demers qui fait bien dans des petites distances - courses de 10 ou 15 tours s'efface lors des finales plus longues. Cette fois il était là à la fin terminant deuxième derrière JF Déry et devant le champion 2006 de la Série ACT Castrol Donald Theetge. | Trampas Demers - The Vermont driver is a regular at Thunder Road. Last year was his first attempt at Tour racing and he was in for a shock. Car setups and driver adaptation were difficult. This year, in order to get more seat time he decided to participate in a few ACT Castrol races North of the border. In his first race at St-Eustache he did ok. But this weekend at Autodrome Montmagny... WOW. He managed to stay in the top 10 all day (29 starters) and even battled for second for a good length of the 100 lap race. He also put on a new game face trading paint with the Quebec regulars... including 2008 ACT Champion and 2007 ACT Castrol Champion Patrick Laperle. The two drivers fought for the same real estate and it resulted in Demers going sideways in front of Laperle's automobile who in turn was pinned against the outside backstretch wall. Demers who will often perform well in short 10 - 15 laps heat races will fade in the features. This time he was all WOW and finished an impressive 2nd behind JF Déry and ahead of 2006 ACT Castrol Champion Donald Theetge. |
