Waterbury, VT – The American-Canadian Tour (ACT) continues its Maine swing this Saturday, August 8 with their annual trip to Scarborough's Beech Ridge Motor Speedway. The eight previous ACT Tour events at the 1/3-mile oval have seen eight different winners, leaving this year's Beech Ridge 150 up for grabs.

Former Beech Ridge Pro Series Champion Brad Babb of Windham, ME will try to become the ninth different winner. Babb was fighting for the victory in the Oxford Plains 150 with Hudson, NH's Joey Polewarczyk Jr. two weeks ago when the two made contact with four laps remaining; Babb eventually spun and was relegated to an 11th-place finish while "Joey Pole" went on to his fourth win of the season.

"After the way we ran at Oxford, I'm really looking forward to Beech Ridge," Babb said. "If we can run that well again, I really think we can come away with a win. Obviously I feel like I got the short end of the stick on the deal at Oxford, but I'm not going to worry about it. I'm just going to race like nothing happened and we'll see what happens when we get there."

Last year's Beech Ridge event marked Babb's ACT Tour debut with the Joey Laquerre–owned #15NH team. What began as a series of one-off races eventually turned into a full-time partnership which Babb describes as "incredible" and currently has them sitting third in points.

Joey Pole's win at Oxford leapfrogged him back ahead of Dover, NH's Wayne Helliwell Jr. in the 2015 championship chase. Pole has a seven-point edge going into Beech Ridge with the lead already having changed hands four times.

Both Pole and Barre, VT's Nick Sweet will try to become the first multi-time ACT winner at Beech Ridge. Sweet is the defending winner of the Beech Ridge 150, while Pole captured the 2010 event and is ACT's all-time leading money winner at the speedway. Helliwell is still seeking his first Beech Ridge victory.

The race behind the two leaders is even tighter following Oxford, with 16 points separating third-place Babb from seventh-place Sweet. Mainers Travis Stearns and Jeff White sit fourth and fifth in the standings will try to keep the first-place trophy in their home state.

East Montpelier, VT's Emily Packard finished fourth and sixth in the two Oxford events and looks to carry her Maine performance down-state. Fellow Vermonter Jimmy Hebert aims to continue his late-summer turnaround. Defending Beech Ridge Pro Series Champion Dave Farrington Jr. has also entered the event.

The ACT Tour Beech Ridge 150 is this Saturday, August 8 at Scarborough, ME's Beech Ridge Motor Speedway. Post time is 7:00pmwith the pit gates opening at 2:00pm and the front gates at 3:00pm. Beech Ridge's weekly Pro Series, Sport Series, and Wildcats will also be in action. Admission is $20 for adults and free for kids 12 and under.
