- For Immediate Release
CHARLOTTE, NC (August 5) – Pro All Stars Series (PASS) officials announced late today an October return for the South's longest running Super Late Model series to the Myrtle Beach Speedway. Following a postponement due to weather in April for the "Bash At The Beach II", the PASS South Super Late Models will once again take to the .538 mile speedway along South Carolina's famed "Grand Strand" on October 9-10.
The PASS South Super Late Models will be joined in action by the Bell & Bell Vintage Modified Series and a special freestyle motorcycle spectacular sure to entertain all in attendance. Tim Dyson's Freestyle Moto-X Spectacular will also join PASS at Myrtle Beach Speedway for a truly unique motorsports experience. The show will feature world renowned action sports star Tim Dyson and riders from all across the globe, of all different skill sets, from X-Games athletes to up-and-coming new talent.
"We're really glad that we will be returning to Myrtle Beach Speedway in October when the weather is generally good and hotel rooms are much more affordable," said PASS President Tom Mayberry. "We've had many competitors asking about rescheduling the 'Bash At The Beach II' and we appreciate Steve [Zacharias] and all the staff at Myrtle Beach for their cooperation. This will be a great way to start our race to the championship. Adding the motorcycles and vintage cars is a perfect way to feature various types of motorsports entertainment for our fans."
The "Bash At The Beach II" will be the first of four races on some of the most historic and challenging short tracks in the Carolinas as competitors race toward the PASS championship. Following the October 10th action at Myrtle Beach Speedway, PASS moves to Greenville-Pickens Speedway on October 24th for "The Howler," the final race of the PASS National Championship Series. On Saturday, November 7, PASS joins the Tour-type Modifieds as the featured divisions in the North-South Shootout's return to Concord Speedway. And, finally, on Saturday, November 21, the PASS South Super Late Model and PASS Pro Late Model champions will be crowned when the 10th Annual Mason-Dixon Meltdown takes place for the first time at Hickory Motor Speedway.
Practice for the "Bash At The Beach II" at Myrtle Beach Speedway will begin on Friday, October 9. On Saturday, October 10th, there will be additional practice sessions followed by qualifying and main events.
