Des recrues plus que jamais dans la classe et plusieurs candidats potentiels à la victoire; cette catégorie en est à son meilleur. D'ailleurs, la recrue Pierre Olivier Breault#20 en plus d'avoir joint la quatrième place vendredi chez nous a aussi remporté sa première victoire à vie au RPM Speedway le lendemain. Marc Véronneau #8, le champion défendant est encore très dominant avec pour résultats deux victoires et deux secondes places en quatre courses ! Enfin, Bruno Lafontaine #19 a remporté la dernière course à Granby et a une deuxième place à son actif, il peut bien se sentir encore d'attaque cette semaine.

C'est toujours Steve Bernier #25 qui est perché au sommet du classement devant Boisvert #73, Hébert #ONE, Bernard #54 et Bussière #21 comme la semaine dernière étant donné leur bonne performance dans les finales de vendredi passé.
L'Abbotsfordien Steve Bernard #54 a fait levé la foule à Drummondville lundi en décrochant la troisième place avec son gros-bloc dans le cadre de la Super Dirtcar series.
Mario Lajoie sera remplacé par Jasmin Léveillé dans la voiture #87 que l'on a connu dans le 4K.
Pour clore la question à propos de la disqualification de Gino Clair de la première finale vendredi dernier, suite à l'inspection technique de sa voiture il s'agissait d'un/e «Pesée/poids ajouté/e à l'extérieur du châssis» ce qui n'est pas permis par les règlements. Avec l'excellent pilotage démontré ce même soir, nous savons que Gino rebondira de cette situation.

Jocelyn Roy #48 s'écarte de Stéphane Lemire #115 au top du classement. Roy se fait l'ambassadeur québécois de la série Dirt et sera du côté d'Albany vendredi avec quelques-uns de nos pilotes locaux. Nous verrons sûrement de nouvelles têtes sur le podium à moins que François Adam #01 ne décroche sa cinquième victoire.

Dans le classement de l'Autodrome Granby, Martin Pelletier #92 est toujours meneur devant Mathieu Desjardins #1M. Avec sa victoire de la troisième épreuve de la série Dirt Sportsman du côté de Drummond lundi, Desjardins demeure au sommet de celle-ci. Guy Ouellette #32 et Martin Hébert #43 sont à égalité sur la troisième position du cumul. Alors que pour Ouellette, c'est chose faite, Hébert est toujours en quête de la victoire. Jonathan Désilets #21 de la cinquième place souhaiterait bien refaire des podiums comme en début de saison.
Jean Boissonneault a fait son retour en Sportsman dans le #07 à Drummondville lundi. Il viendra courir aux programmes de fin d'année chez nous cet automne au grand plaisir de sa famille et de ses fans.
Quelques Sportsman iront poursuivre la série Seaway du côté de Mohawk International Raceway alors de nouvelles têtes d'affiche sont possibles à Granby.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (July 20, 2015) – As the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series presented by Mobil 1 returns to Quebec for the next two events, province native Alex Labbe faces what may be his best shots at a breakthrough trip to Victory Lane.
Labbe, from Victoriaville, has been knocking on the door as of late. In three starts this year the 22-year-old has posted finishes of second, seventh and sixth.
The first of those back-to-back Quebec events is this Saturday at Autodrome St-Eustache, a .4-mile oval. Labbe set the track qualifying record there last year but was forced to retire from the race early with suspension problems. Since then he's twice finished as a runner-up on ovals – last summer at Nova Scotia's Riverside International Speedway and this spring at Quebec's Autodrome Chaudiere.
So does he stand a better chance at attaining that first win on an oval than a road course?
"I think my oval program is a little stronger," Labbe said. "We're still good on the road, but I'm more used to ovals. I run a lot of ovals. I think we can get a win on both types of tracks this year."
He'll get a shot at both in the upcoming two-week stretch as the Canadian Tire Series will move northeast for the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivieres on Aug. 2. Labbe has had mixed results at the famed street course with one top 10 in three appearances, but he's fared well at the series' other Quebec road course – Circuit ICAR – with an average finish of seventh in four starts.
Labbe will carry a little extra motivation into this week's Lucas Oil National 250 presented by Lacroix Tuning, however. In the series' eight all-time oval events in Quebec, a province native has yet to reach Victory Lane.

The Race: The 2015 NASCAR Canadian Tire Series presented by Mobil 1 schedule will return to Quebec for the first of back-to-back events with the Lucas Oil National 250 presented by Lacroix Tuning at Autodrome St-Eustache.
The Procedure: The maximum starting field is 22 cars, including provisionals. The first 19 cars will have secured starting positions through two-lap time trials while the remaining three spots will be awarded through the provisional process. The race is scheduled for 250 laps (100 miles), and is an impound race with four change tires allotted for the event.
The Track: The Autodrome St-Eustache racing complex, located west of Montreal, consists of a .4-mile oval, a road course and a drag strip. There is also a karting track on the premises. The track was founded in 1965 as Fury Speedway de Fabreville, and the current configuration has played host to various types of racing since 1970. The track was purchased by Alan Labrosse prior to the 2008 race season.
Pole Winners: The first six St-Eustache races have produced five different pole winners. Alex Labbe has the track qualifying record at 17.139 seconds (84.019 mph), set in 2014.
Race Winners: Two-time defending race winner Scott Steckly leads the way with four wins in six all-time St-Eustache events.

Steckly Looks to Match Ranger's Mark: Andrew Ranger is the only driver in NASCAR Canadian Tire Series presented by Mobil 1 history to win three-consecutive races at a track. Scott Steckly will look to match that this week at Autodrome St-Eustache. Steckly has been quite dominant at the Quebec oval with four wins and two additional top fives through the six events there. The last two victories have come in consecutive fashion. Ranger's record applies to two road courses – both in Quebec – as he won three-consecutive times at Circuit de Trois-Rivieres (2008-10) and Circuit ICAR (2012-14).
Steckly Sweeps Western Swing: In addition to Steckly's past achievements at St-Eustache, he's bringing a pretty solid record of 2015 success into this week's Lucas Oil National 250 presented by Lacroix Tuning. The Ontario racer swept both ends of the recent western swing to Edmonton (Alberta) International Raceway and Auto Clearing Motor Speedway (Saskatchewan) to move into the points lead for the first time since the 2013 season finale when he celebrated the championship.
First Series Oval Race for ICAR Winner Lacroix: St-Eustache native Kevin Lacroix is set to make his Canadian Tire Series oval debut this week at his home track. Lacroix grew up in the sport in karting and road racing, and the experience served him well as he won at Circuit ICAR earlier this month in just his second NASCAR start. He has made one oval start this year, a super late model race at Autodrome Chaudiere in June.
Camirand Finding Oval Success: Marc-Antoine Camirand's first six Canadian Tire Series starts came on road courses, and like Lacroix, his background is primarily in road racing. The Jostens Rookie of the Year contender is finding oval success in 2015, however. In the recent western swing the St-Leonard d'Aston, Quebec, driver posted top-five finishes in both outings, and he has an average finish of seventh in four such races this year.

Excellente deuxième place d'Alex Labbé à Plattsburgh
Plattsburgh, NY, le 20 juillet 2015 - Alex Labbé a récolté une deuxième place bien combattue, ce week-end, alors qu'il a pris part à l'International 500 au Airborne Speedway de Plattsburgh, NY. Cette course âprement disputée a confronté les pilotes québécois de la série ACT-Québec aux Américains de l'American-Canadian Tour.
Le pilote de Saint-Albert a eu entre les mains une voiture n°48 Larue Équipements de déneigement/VR Victoriaville très performante pendant tout le week-end. Très rapide en pratiques, il a ensuite remporté sa manche qualificative, pour prendre le départ de la course de 200 tours en neuvième place, parmi les meilleurs pilotes des deux séries venus se disputer l'importante bourse de 10 000 $ remise au gagnant.
Dès le début de la course, Alex a pu se hisser parmi les meneurs. « Avec environ 20 tours à faire, j'avais réussi à me hisser en tête de peloton. J'ai roulé côte à côte pendant de nombreux tours avec un concurrent, l'éventuel vainqueur. La fin de la course a été très serrée et je crois que nous avons offert un bon spectacle. Malheureusement, il y a eu plusieurs neutralisations en fin de course et il m'a manqué un tout petit peu de vitesse à la fin pour aller chercher la victoire », a commenté le pilote de 22 ans.
En effet, les pneus, munis de valves de relâchement d'air, ont trop baissé en pression lorsque les neutralisations en ont fait diminuer la température. Avec des pneus plus froids ayant une pression trop basse, Labbé n'a pas été en mesure de conserver sa première place au terme de la course de 200 tours. Concédant la victoire à Nick Sweet, le champion en titre ACT-Québec a pu rallier l'arrivée en deuxième place, suivi de Wayne Helliwell Jr.
« La compétition était vraiment forte, et tous les pilotes voulaient se battre pour la bourse. Je suis très heureux de cette deuxième place. La voiture n°48 Larue Équipements de déneigement/VR Victoriaville a été très rapide tout le week-end, et il ne nous en manquait pas beaucoup pour gagner ce soir (dimanche). Je suis content d'avoir une aussi bonne voiture », a indiqué Labbé.
L'International 500 était une course hors championnat réunissant les pilotes d'ACT-Québec et de l'American-Canadian Tour. Le championnat régulier ACT-Québec reprendra le 1er août à l'Autodrome St-Félicien. Alex Labbé sera quant à lui de retour en action samedi prochain en série NASCAR Canadian Tire à l'Autodrome St-Eustache, où il avait établi un record de piste et qualifié en position de tête, l'an dernier avec l'équipe Jacombs Racing.

d'une grave maladie. Ce jeune souhaite rentrer à la maison où il
pourra retrouver une vie familiale « normale ». Pour ce faire, il a
besoin de sous afin de pouvoir payer les soins offerts par une
infirmière.
Karol et sa femme Josée-Ann souhaitent s'impliquer afin de l'aider et
c'est pourquoi ils remettront leur bourse de la course du 25 juillet à
cette cause qui leur est très chère.

(Alan Ward photo)>> Plattsburgh, NY – Nick Sweet showed why he's one of the top American-Canadian Tour (ACT) Late Model drivers in the Northeast on Sunday, July 19, capping a whirlwind two days by winning the ACT International at Plattsburgh, NY's Airborne Park Speedway. Barre, VT's Sweet took the lead for the final time on lap 192 of the 200-lap event, beating out Alex Labbé on the final restart. The Thunder Road Late Model point leader will take home more than $10,000 for the win after lap-leader money and contingencies. The victory was also a redemption for Sweet after finishing second in the event in 2014. Sweet, whose wife is expecting their third child at any moment, didn't decide to attend the event until midday on Saturday, July 18 but won the pole that evening with no practice time. His Eric Chase–owned #40VT team, which ran the same car that Jean-Paul Cyr drove at Thunder Road on Thursday, then had only one 20-minute session on Sunday morning after rain moved through the area. "I never would have imagined this," Sweet said. "We literally started working on this car Saturday morning. I had time to go get my car inspected and take a nap, and we just made it on time. I think the team morale right now is at an all-time high. "What can you really say?" he added. "It's almost surreal to think we're sitting in Victory Lane right now after the rollercoaster ride we've had. My wife held on; she's a champ. She's a saint for letting me come race, but that's why I married her." Williamstown, VT's Jimmy Hebert got the jump on the initial start and led the first ten laps. Sweet then took the lead back following the first of 10 cautions before St-Denis, QC's Patrick Laperle grabbed the top spot on the next restart on lap 51. Sweet elected to change tires on a lap-78 caution, eventually re-inheriting the lead from Wayne Helliwell Jr. when the rest of the leaders took tires following a mandatory fuel stop just past halfway. After Sweet dominated the third quarter of the race, he and Labbé swapped the lead back and forth on a series of restarts, with the outside groove frequently being the preferred line. Hebert's spin on lap 182 gave Sweet the opportunity to get the jump on the outside, putting him down low for the final restart after a three-car tangle between Jonathan Bouvrette, Brooks Clark, and Charles Harvey. While Labbé was able to nose ahead for a circuit, Sweet made the inside work when he needed it most to get the win. Labbé finished second followed by Helliwell. Canadian Jean-François Déry and New Yorker Brandon Atkins were fourth and fifth. Laperle, Brian Hoar, Dany Trepanier, Patrick Cliche, and Hebert completed the top-10. Berwick, ME's Joey Doiron once again proved a quick study in the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) Super Late Models, winning the series' inaugural event at Airborne. Doiron survived a rash of eight cautions in the first half of the event to dominate the second half, taking the lead for the final time from Milton, VT's Brent Dragon on lap 111. Patrick Laperle made a charge at Doiron following the race's final restart on lap 117, but Doiron drove away in the final stages for the win. It was the second "inaugural win" of the season for Doiron, who also won PASS's first-ever event at Thunder Road in May. Brian Hoar muscled past Laperle in the final laps for second, followed by Dragon and Jeremy Davis. Glen Luce, point leader Mike Rowe, Bobby Therrien, Travis Benjamin, and Bobby Therrien completed the top-10. The ACT Tour resumes its 2015 championship chase at Oxford Plains Speedway in Oxford, ME on Saturday, July 25. Plattsburgh, NY – Sweet almost didn't make it to qualifying for the American-Canadian Tour (ACT) International 500 at Airborne Park Speedway on Saturday – but he arrived just in time to win the pole for the ACT Late Model 200-lap, $10,000-to-win feature on Sunday, July 19.
Barre, VT's Sweet, whose wife has been dealing with complications surrounding the early arrival of his third child, decided at the last minute to make the trip for the event. He and his Eric Chase–owned #40VT Late Model team pulled into the pits as the final ACT practice session of the day was wrapping up.
The team hustled to get the car ready for competition, and Sweet raced from sixth to third in the second qualifying heat, earning a +3 in ACT's plus/minus handicapping system. That was enough for Sweet to win a tiebreaker with Williamstown, VT's Jimmy Hebert for the pole position in tomorrow's event.
"I had a great time today," Sweet said. "There were no expectations; we just wanted to go out there and have fun. We're glad that a weekly Thunder Road driver could be on the pole. We'll hopefully keep performing and try to build on it tomorrow.
"We've been looking forward to this race, and circumstances almost didn't allow for us to be here, but we made it, and we're glad we did."
Hebert will start on the outside pole after earning a +3 in the third qualifying heat. Hebert began the Friday practice day at the bottom of the speed charts, but has made steady improvement throughout the weekend.
Patrick Laperle, Alex Labbé, and Wayne Helliwell Jr. earned victories in the ACT qualifying heats. Jean-François Déry won the consolation race.
Quebec's Patrick Cliche developed engine problems in the second-to-last pratice and missed his qualifying heat while changing engines. Cliche started last in the consi and raced his way up to seventh, earning the 19thstarting position in Sunday's event.
Donald Theetge will start on the pole of the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) Super Late Model 200-lap event after winning the first qualifying heat. Joey Polewarczyk Jr. won the second qualifying heat and will start on the outside pole.
St-Hyancinthe, QC's Pierre Hébert won the 25-lap Rev-Star SpeedSTR feature, holding off a hard-charging Doug Roses in the final laps. Francis Méthot, Marc-André Levesque, and Richie Tobias completed the top-five.
The ACT International 500 at Plattsburgh, NY's Airborne Park Speedway continues on Sunday, July 19. The day will begin at 1:00pm with the PASS Super Late Model 200-lap, $10,000 to win event. After the Rev-Star Slingshots take to the track, the ACT Late Models will complete the doubleheader with their own 200-lap, $10,000-to-win feature. General adult admission is $35.

LOUDON, N.H. (July 17, 2015) – William Byron turned in a dominant performance Friday in victory at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
Byron, a Sunoco Rookie of the Year contender from Charlotte, North Carolina, won from the pole to take the United Site Services 70 checkered flag at the "Magic Mile" in NASCAR K&N Pro Series East action.
It was his fourth victory in just eight K&N Pro Series East starts.
The 17-year-old had forged a lead of more than six seconds when the first caution of the race came out on Lap 50. A second and final yellow came out shortly thereafter to setup a 10-lap dash to the finish. Although Scott Heckert got the jump on Byron on the restarts, he was easily able to retake control in both instances.
Byron was followed across the finish line by Heckert, Kaz Grala, Nick Drake and Austin Hill. Spencer Davis, Gray Gaulding, J.J. Haley, Eddie MacDonald and Rico Abreu rounded out the top 10.
Byron's win extended his lead in the championship standings to 29 points over Hill.
The United Site Services 70 will premiere on NBCSN on July 23 at 7 p.m.
The NASCAR K&N Pro Series East will return to action July 31 with a combination race with the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West at Iowa Speedway.
