Randy Hill Racing; Casey Roderick Flex Early Weekend Muscle At Phoenix

 

 

 

 

AVONDALE, Arizona (March 2, 2012) - - Before Friday’s first practice session at Phoenix (Ariz.) International Raceway (PIR) for the NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) Lawrenceville, Georgia native Casey Roderick had never seen the one-mile oval but after producing the 18th quickest lap it was evident that the rookie was adapting well.  

 

The strong day for Randy Hill Racing (RHR), one of the newest teams on the NNS circuit continued into “happy hour”, the final practice session leading up to qualifying and the race when Roderick maneuvered the No. 08 RandyHillRacing.com Ford Mustang to the 15th quickest lap after posting a time of 27.131 seconds at 132.690 miles per hour ahead of some of the series’ finest including Kyle Busch, Danica Patrick, Joe Nemechek and Michael Annett.

With the Mooresville, North Carolina-based team showing some early weekend strength, the team is looking forward to time trials tomorrow morning and a sizzling finish in the Bashas’ Supermarkets 200.

“We have a really good No. 08 RandyHillRacing.com Ford Mustang this weekend,” said Roderick, whose poised to make his fifth career start at PIR. “Paul (Andrew, crew chief), David (Ingram, car chief) and the entire Randy Hill Racing team have really done a magnificent job getting this car to haul the mail. We just kept getting better and better as the day progressed and that has me really looking forward to the rest of the weekend.”

Randy Hill, car owner and a successful entrepreneur, rancher and inventor from Texas nearly echoed his driver’s sentiments.

“I can’t begin to tell you how pleased I am about the effort and success of the team thus far this weekend at Phoenix,” offered Hill. “Casey, Paul and the entire RHR team really put a lot of effort into the car today and it showed with our on-track results. The morale around the team is positive and that’s a good feeling for us all heading into race day tomorrow.”

In the first practice session of the day, Roderick, 19 laid down 31 laps with the quickest coming on lap 25 after negotiating a lap of 27.605 seconds or 130.411 miles per hour. While in the final session, Roderick’s 29th and final lap was their quickest of the weekend in the extremely tight and competitive field.

Randy Hill Racing is a go-or-go-homer car heading into Coors pole qualifying tomorrow morning slated to begin at 11:05 a.m. MST. The team is slated to roll off 30th of the 44 entries filed for the second race of the season. Roderick was the third quickest of the 14 cars in the same scenario as RHR for qualifications thus placing them deep in the qualifying order.

The Bashas’ Supermarkets 200 (200 laps / 200 miles) is the second of 33 events on the 2012 NASCAR Nationwide Series schedule. Qualifying is set for Saturday, March 3 scheduled to lift off at 11:05 a.m. live on SPEED. The field will take the green flag later that day just after 2:30 p.m. with live coverage on ESPN2, the Motor Racing Network (Radio) and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio (Satellite Radio, Channel 90). Pre-race coverage of the anticipated thriller is tentatively scheduled to lift off at 2:00 p.m. also on ESPN2. All times are local.

Le circuit routier à 15 virages sera l’hôte de la série NASCAR Whelen All-American

 

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (1er mars, 2012) — Un circuit routier innovateur canadien ouvrira un nouveau chapitre international dans l’histoire de la série NASCAR Whelen All-American Series en mai.

Le Circuit ICAR, un complexe de sports motorisés révolutionnaire de Mirabel, au Québec, accueillera des courses en soirée sur circuit routier.

Le Circuit ICAR est situé à 20 minutes au nord de Montréal et la série NASCAR Whelen All-American prévoit y rouler à chaque deux vendredi soirs à partir du 18 mai prochain.

 

 

« L’ajout du tracé routier du Circuit ICAR est un pas historique dans les 31 ans de la série NASCAR Whelen All-American, a dit George Silbermann, vice-président de NASCAR pour les séries régionales et itinérantes. Marc Arseneau a créé des installations et des événements qui font du Circuit ICAR une destination de premier choix pour les amateurs et le compétiteurs.»

International Center of Advanced Racing (ICAR) a débuté ses opérations en 2007. La série NASCAR Canadian Tire a effectué sa première présence au Circuit ICAR l’an dernier. Robin Buck de Campbellville en Ontario a remporté la course de 30 tours pour une distance totale de 63.67 milles. La série NASCAR Canadian Tire et la série NASCAR Whelen All-American se partageront un programme double au circuit les 2 et 3 juin prochain.

« Circuit ICAR est fier d’accueillir cette nouvelle série en 2012. Nous cherchons toujours à faire

innover et grandir le monde de la course automobile au Québec, a dit Marc Arseneau, président du Circuit ICAR. Nous avons la chance de recevoir la première série Nascar Whelen en circuit routier. De plus celle-ci se déroulera en soirée sur une piste éclairée, une première en Amérique du Nord. Nous comptons bien redéfinir l’expérience pour les spectateurs à l’aide de nos nouvelles infrastructures haut de gamme.»

La division I de la série Whelen All-American est constituée de voitures Sportsman qui se disputeront la victoire sur le tracé éclairé de 15 virages étendus sur 3,4 km (2,113 milles). Les voitures Sportsman sont mises en marché par le Circuit ICAR et sont semblables aux récents modèles qui compétitionnent partout à travers l’Amérique du nord. Les styles de carrosserie éligibles sont celles des Ford Mustang, Chevrolet Camaro et Dodge Challenger 2012. Les autres divisions de NASCAR incluent les Outlaw, le Challenge Quatre Plus et le Challenge Quatre.

Le Club International de Sport Automobile (CISA) offre l’encadrement et l’endossement des nouveaux bolides Sportsman. CISA est un affilié d’Auto Sports Québec (ASQ), l’organisme de sanction provincial.

« En tant que gestionnaire de cette nouvelle série, nous croyons qu’elle offre une opportunité incroyable aux jeunes de la relève qui désirent faire l’acquisition d’une voiture à faible coût et se lancer dans ce sport souvent dispendieux, explique Buddy Ford, représentant de la CISA. Les voitures de cette série sont abordables et accessibles au grand public. Pour moins de 40 000$, il est possible d’avoir une voiture prête pour la course! Cette série offrira une compétition féroce, la chance de faire partie d’une  série de renom et  pour les spectateurs, un spectacle incroyable.  Il s’agit d’un incontournable pour les fans de course automobile cet été, un vrai vent de fraîcheur.»

La série NASCAR Whelen All-American est le championnat national pour les courses hebdomadaires sur courte piste. La série roule sur plus de 50 autodromes au Canada et aux États-Unis. D’autres circuits canadiens sont le Barrie Speedway, un ovale asphalté de 0,333 milles en Ontario et le Edmonton International Speedway, un ovale asphalté de 0,250 mille en Alberta.

Les pilotes immatriculés par NASCAR de la Division I peuvent participer aux championnats NASCAR Whelen All-American en plus d’obtenir des fonds de points aux niveaux du circuit, de la province, de l’état et national. Les champions provinciaux et d’états reçoivent aussi des casques et les combinaisons de pilotage sur mesure de la part du commanditaire de la série Whelen Engineering.

Les pilotes immatriculés par NASCAR dans toutes les classes de soutien sanctionnées par NASCAR se battent pour des points dans le programme du Finaliste NASCAR. Le programme amène de la reconnaissance aux pilotes des divisions II, III et IV. Les points pour les circuits asphaltés et sur terre battue sont compilés de façon séparés.

Burlington, VT – Le vétéran Claude Leclerc de Lanoraie est devenu le premier pilote québécois à s’inscrire pour la saison complete de la série ACT-Castrol. Âgé de 70 ans, celui que l’on surnomme avec raison,«l’Homme de Fer», a terminé au huitième rang dans ce championnat québécois en 2011. C’était son cinquième résultat consecutif parmi les dix premiers.

Waterbury, VT – American Canadian Tour veteran Claude Leclerc of Lanoraie, Quebec has filed a full season entry for the 2012 Série ACT Castrol season. Leclerc is coming off an 8th place effort on the series in 2011. It was his fifth straight top ten in the final standings.

Leclerc began competing on the former NASCAR North Tour during its inaugural 1979 season. He competed full-time in each of the Tour’s seven seasons through 1985, and finished in the top ten six times, including third in the 1981 standings. He continued to race full-time with the ACT Tour from its inception in 1986 through its final Pro Stock season in 1995. From 1979 through 1995, Leclerc had the most starts of any driver on the NASCAR North/ACT Tour with 397. He finished in the top ten in the standings in 13 of the 17 seasons, and earned six career wins.

 

Claude Leclerc a fait ses débuts dans l’ancien circuit nord-américain de Nascar lors de sa première saison en 1979. Jusqu’en 1985, il a couru régulièrement durant ces sept saisons, et a terminé parmi les dix premiers en six occasions, incluant une troisième place en 1981. Puis, en 1986, il a poursuivi sa carrière avec l’American-Canadian Tour qui s’est terminée lors de la dernière saison Pro Stock en 1995. De 1979 à 1995, il est celui qui a pris part au plus grand nombre de courses, soit 397. Durant cette période, il s’est classé parmi les dix premiers en 13 occasions sur 17 et a visité le cercle des vainqueurs à six reprises dont sa victoire mémorable lors du Molson 300 en 1984.

«Claude et moi avons commencé pratiquement en même temps dans ce sport, il y a 35 ans » de dire Tom Curley, le president de l’ACT et responsable de la série ACT-Castrol. «C’est tout un record qu’il a établi au fil des ans. Je me souviens qu’immmédiatement après les beaux jours du circuit nord-américain de Nascar, Claude a été l’un des trois pilotes avec Jamie Aube et Dick McCabe qui se sont déplacés jusqu’à Burlington au Vermont afin de m’encourager à fonder l’American-Canadian Tour », de poursuivre Curley. Lorsque c’était le temps d’aller à Dover Downs, DE, à Milwaukee au Wisconsin, Nashville, Tennesse, Thompson au Connecticut et même en Nouvelle-Écosse, Claude était le premier à s’impliquer. L’ACT est certainement privilégiée d’avoir encore dans ses rangs un gars comme Claude Leclerc qui va être avec la série ACT-Castrol tout au long du calendrier 2012. Il est unique en son genre et un bon ami» de conclure Curley.

Leclerc est revenu dans les rangs de l’ACT en 2007 lorsque la série Castrol est passée aux mains de l’ACT. Il a participé à 51 des 52 courses disputées depuis. Avec le  circuit nord-américan de Nascar et les deux championnats de l’ACT, il a maintenant un dossier de 447 départs, six victoires, 96 top cinq et 253 top 10 durant ces 22 saisons. Très régulier et surtout toujours au rendez-vous, Claude a une excellente fiche de s’être classé parmi les 10 premiers durant 18 ans.

La saison 2012 de cette série ACT-Castrol prendra son envol, le 26 mai prochain à l’Autodrome Montmagny par la presentation d’une confrontation de 100 tours.

“Claude and I started at just about the same time in this business nearly 35 years ago,” commented ACT President Tom Curley. “It is a remarkable record of racing achievement he has compiled over the years. I remember immediately after the NASCAR North days when Claude was one of three drivers, along with Jamie Aube and Dick McCabe, who drove to Burlington, VT and encouraged me to start the American Canadian Tour,” continued Curley. “When it was time to go to Dover Downs, DE, Milwaukee, WI, Nashville, TN, Thompson, CT or Nova Scotia, Claude was always the first to make the commitment. ACT is very proud to have Claude Leclerc still racing competitively with us going into the 2012 season. He is truly one of a kind and a good friend,” Curley concluded.

Leclerc returned to full-time ACT competition in 2007, the first season of the Série ACT Castrol. He has now started all but one of the 52 Castrol events run to date. The 70 year old has 447 starts, 6 wins, 96 top fives, and 253 top tens during his 22 seasons on the NASCAR North/ACT/ACT Castrol Tours. He has finished in the top ten in the standings in 18 of those 22 seasons.

The 12-event 2012 Série ACT Castrol season will kick off at Autodrome Montmagny in Montmagny, Quebec with a 100 lap event on Saturday, May 26. It will be the sixth season of Série ACT Castrol competition.

La grande annonce était centrée sur la nouvelle série de courses en circuit routier sous la bannière NASCAR Whelen All-American et mettant en vedette la voiture spec Sportsman ICAR disponible “turn-key” pour 39 995$USD.

The big news coming out of Mirabel was to unveil the new road-racing series which will run under the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series and will showcase the new ICAR Sportsman Spec CAR available for 39 995$USD.

 

Le calendrier proposé de 14 manches se tiendra principalement les vendredis soirs sous les réflecteurs.  En plus des voitures Sportsman ICAR, s’ajouteront dans une 2e division des voitures LMS (comme celle de la Série ACT Castrol) et les vieilles voitures CASCAR.  Selon le gérant de la série, M. Buddy Ford, près de 50 voitures de ce type dormiraient dans les garages du Québec.

The proposed 14 race schedule will primarely be ran under the lights on Friday nights.  In addition to the ICAR Sportsman cars, a second division, the Outlaws, for Late Models (ACT type cars) and CASCAR will run simultaneously.   According to Series Manager, Mr Buddy Ford, over 50 cars of these type are parked in various Quebec garages.

 

Le pilote IndyCar Alex Tagliani sera le porte-parole de cette série pour lequel le trophée de la recrue portera son nom.

IndyCar driver Alex Tagliani will be the spoke person for the Series which will have a trophy named after him and awared to the rookie of the year.

SÉRIE SPORTSMAN : LA RECRUE 2011 DE RETOUR

Québec, QC (1 mars 2012) – Le jeune pilote d'Alma au Lac St-Jean et recrue de l'année en titre, David Gagnon, devient le treizième pilote à s'inscrire au championnat de stock-car la Série Sportsman Québec 2012.

 

Gagnon a réussi à enregistrer 2 top-10 et il s'est classé au 14e rang du classement cumulatif.  Une performance respectable, encore plus considérant que le jeune pilote en était à ses premiers tours de piste avec la Série et devait donc en plus d'apprivoiser sa monture se familiariser avec de nouveaux tracés.

« J'ai l'intention de continuer ma progression.  Pas question de sauter les étapes.  J'aimerais terminer dans le top-10 du classement.  Pour y arriver, je devrai être régulier à chacune des courses » indiquait Gagnon.

Selon M. André Poulin, président de la Série Sportsman Québec, David Gagnon est un des meilleurs espoirs du stock-car au Québec.  « David a démontré de grandes aptitudes derrière le volant.  Un jeune pilote au caractère fougueux, s'il continue sur sa lancé et canalise sont énergie il aura un avenir prometteur avec la Série et une brillante carrière de stock-car »

David pilotera à nouveau la Dodge Charger No. 47, appuyée par Suspension Turcotte de Alma et il sera aidé des précieux conseils du constructeur/préparateur Michaël Lavoie.

La levée de rideau pour la série se fera avec une journée d’essai et d’inspection à l’autodrome Montmagny le 12 mai et la première compétition, un manche de 75 tours, qui aura lieu le 19 mai à l’Autodrome St-Eustache dans le cadre du festival sportsman qui mettra aussi en vedette les Sportsmans ANCA et la classe Sportsman de la piste américaine Airborne Speedway.

Many New Faces Set To Challenge Standard Bearers For PASS South Title in 2012

CHARLOTTE, NC (February 29) – To say that fans and drivers alike are anticipating the 2012 Pro All Stars Series (PASS) South Super Late Model season would be a vast understatement. Defending PASS South Champion Ryan Blaney moves up to the NASCAR K&N Pro Series and will also debut in the NASCAR Nationwide Series. Blaney will continue to run a limited PASS South schedule, but that leaves the field wide open to returning veterans and bright-eyed newcomers for the championship.


Clemson University student Ross Kenseth makes the move from the Midwest Late Model wars to the Southeast’s tough short tracks in 2012. Kenseth made his PASS South debut last year finishing with an impressive 7th place finish at THE RACE at North Wilkesboro Speedway besting a field of 70 other drivers.
“I think it will be a really good experience to race with PASS,” said Kenseth, son of two-time Daytona 500 winner Matt Kenseth. “I haven’t really raced with many of the drivers in the PASS South series, but hopefully we can get out of the box with a good run at Dillon and be a contender.”
Titusville, Florida’s Ken Lilley hopes to continue his climb up the racing later with a move up to PASS South. Lilley began his career racing in Quarter Midgets before moving on to the FASCAR Pro Truck division and eventually on to Late Model racing in his native Florida.
Eddie Sharp Racing has made a name for itself campaigning vehicles in the ARCA Series and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and now moves to the world of Super Late Model racing and PASS. The Sharp team has created a driver development program that will be guided by short track legend Butch Miller. Miller is coming off a season that saw him crew chief Chris Eggleston to a win in PASS South’s “THE RACE” at North Wilkesboro Speedway and take away a cool $75,000 winner’s purse. Brandon Jones of Atlanta, GA comes to the team after having won Pro Truck division titles at two tracks in his home state. Alongside Jones at Eddie Sharp racing will be William Gallagher, who will also be making his PASS South debut.
In addition, more fresh faces are coming to PASS, albeit with experienced teammates and established drivers. Coulter Motorpsorts will field a two car effort with 2011 PASS South Rookie-Of-The-Year Gray Gaulding and Craig Goess, Jr. Gaulding finished out 2011 strong with three top ten finishes, leading laps in the season ending Mason-Dixon Meltdown at Concord Speedway. Goess comes to PASS as a former Legends Car standout who became an ARCA winner at Pocono Raceway before competing in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series last year.
Brad Keselowski Racing also returns to PASS South in 2012 fielding two cars for Landon Cling and Nate Caruth. Cling impressed running a partial schedule last season, finishing 3rd against a stout field in the Over The Mountain 150 at Hickory Motor Speedway. Caruth hopes the experience of veteran crew chief Gary Crooks will enable him to successfully make the giant leap to racing asphalt Super Late Models with PASS from the dirt tracks of Iowa where he cut his teeth racing Modifieds.
Perhaps the driver with the most invested in the 2012 racing season is Jay Fogleman. He brings teammates along with him this year in the form of Late Model Stock veteran David Latour, Jr. and perennial Legends Car winner Kyle Beattie. Fogleman scored a win in last year’s season opener at Anderson Motor Speedway and led the PASS South points much of the year, only to lose out in the final race at Concord to Ryan Blaney.
“Coming so close last year to winning the championship and losing with a flat tire was a great let down,” said Fogleman. “But it made us more determined to out work everyone this Winter. We are ready for 2012 and all the Bull City teams are looking good for this season.”
Kyle Grissom joins the PASS South series after several successful seasons racing in the Late Model Stock division throughout the Carolinas and Virginia. Grissom debuted with the series last October at Hickory, starting on the pole and leading laps in the early going. The second generation driver is following a similar path to that of his father Steve, the 1993 NASCAR Nationwide Series Champion. Steve parlayed success in the old All Pro Series to a successful driving career in the top ranks of stock car racing throughout the 1990’s.
Short track veteran Brandon Ward returns in the familiar #62 for New Day Motorsports with a brand new car ready to race in 2012. Ward has been a winner in every division he has ever competed in with the exception of PASS. He hopes to change that this season as he and his team go for the PASS South championship after racing on a limited schedule the last few seasons.
“New faces to the series are always good,” said Ward. “It adds to an already very competitive field and also brings new fans to PASS. The guys have worked really hard over the Winter and we feel good about our chances to get kpmoto.com, Foothill Ford and Precision Built Spindles into victory lane and a chance at the championship.”
And, this list of drivers set to compete in PASS South in 2012 continues to grow by the week. Former PASS South and PASS National Champion Preston Peltier is back with renewed vigor after going winless last year. Stephen Naase hopes to build on a very productive 2011 which saw him set a new track record at North Wilkesboro Speedway and hold off Peltier for a thrilling victory in the Easter Bunny 150 at Hickory. And, Steve Wallace returns to his short tracks roots debuting in PASS South driving the Leavitt Racing Components house car.
The season kick off is just around the corner with the 7th Annual South Carolina Clash at Dillon Motor Speedway on March 10th. There will be rotating practice on Friday, March 9th for all divisions from 3 PM until dark. On Saturday, March 10th, gates open at 9 AM with rotating practice for the PASS South Super Late Models, PASS Super Limiteds, CCS Legends, CCS Bandoleros, and Mini Cups from 11 AM until 3 PM. Qualifying begins at 4 PM and will be followed by the feature division races. And don’t forget to make plans for the first major event of the season as the best Super Late Model drivers in the country converge on Hickory Motor Speedway for the 7th Annual Easter Bunny 150 on Saturday, April 7th. Brad Keselowski Racing development driver Austin Theriault of Fort Kent, Maine, heads back to the track for the 36th annual Rattler 250 at South Alabama Speedway in Kinston, Ala., on Sunday, March 4. Theriault is making his fourth career start in the BKR No. 29 Checkered Flag Foundation Dodge Super Late Model after making his 2012 debut in the car with an eighth-place finish at Speedfest in January. “Obviously, I think we're capable of having another good run. We're also looking to continue to build ourselves up as a team. We're still getting to know each other, so I think it's about going down there to have a good run and to use this race to continue to jell as a team.”


On whether his goals have changed after a strong performance at Speedfest last time out: “They don't really change at all, actually, because I still think we're capable of having really good runs every weekend that we're at the track. (Crew chief Gary Crook's) guys and everybody on the team is very capable of running well. I don't think the pressure increases, because we're still focusing on performing well.”


On what he knows about South Alabama Speedway: “I don't know much about it, to be honest. It's just another one of those races where you just arrive at the track and try to get used to it as fast as you can after a couple of runs out there during practice.
“It's kind of the story of my life – going to all these different tracks and getting used to them and having to acclimate to how every track is unique.”

No. 48 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Team Penalized For Infractions At Daytona International Speedway

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Feb. 29, 2012) – NASCAR has issued penalties, suspensions and fines to the No. 48 team in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, as a result of rules infractions found on Feb. 17 during opening day inspection for the Daytona 500.

 

The No. 48 car was found to be in violation of Sections 12-1 (actions detrimental to stock car racing); 12-4J (any determination by NASCAR officials that race equipment used in the event does not conform to NASCAR rules detailed in Section 20 of the rule book or has not been approved by NASCAR prior to the event); and 20-2.1E (if in the judgment of NASCAR officials, any part or component of the car not previously approved by NASCAR that has been installed or modified to enhance aerodynamic performance will not be permitted – unapproved car body modifications).

As a result, crew chief Chad Knaus and car chief Ron Malec have been suspended from the next six (6) NASCAR Sprint Cup Series championship events, suspended from NASCAR until April 18 and placed on NASCAR probation until May 9. Additionally, Knaus has been fined $100,000.

Driver Jimmie Johnson and car owner Jeff Gordon have been penalized with the loss of 25 driver and 25 owner points, respectively.

Erik Jones Set to Become ARCA's First 15-Year-Old Driver at Mobile; Other Young Drivers Aiming for Short Track Success

(TOLEDO, Ohio) - Beginning with next week's Mobile ARCA 200 at Mobile International Speedway, the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards will allow approved and certified 15-year-old drivers to compete on tracks one mile in length or shorter.

 

Erik Jones, a Byron, Mich. driver who will not turn 16 until late May, plans to be the first 15-year-old competitor in the 60 years of ARCA's national tour. Jones is entered at the Irvington, Ala. half-mile in Venturini Motorsports' No. 25 Chevrolet, one of 36 cars on the current entry list but the only one featuring a driver who is not yet 16.

 

"I can't thank everybody enough, those who made this possible," Jones said recently. "To be able to run with the caliber of a team like Venturini Motorsports is one of the biggest opportunities I've ever had in my career. I have to thank ARCA for lowering the age limit to let 15-year-olds squeeze into the short track races. This is definitely one of the coolest things I've had come along in my whole career, so I can't be more excited for this opportunity. I hope to get a few wins this year."

 

Jones began his career at age 7 in 2004, racing quarter midgets in Michigan. He made his stock car debut in 2009 at Owosso Speedway in Ovid, Mich., quickly moving to the challenging Pro Stock division. Jones won a feature and the track's Pro Stock Rookie of the Year Award.

 

In 2010, Jones moved to the ASA Late Model Northern Series, becoming the youngest winner in series history at age 14. He finished the year having led the most laps in the series on the way to the Rookie of the Year title. Jones won the first JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour championship in 2011 with wins at Rockford (Ill.) Speedway and Owosso, and later won the Governor's Cup, a prestigious Florida super late model event.

 

Another young driver making his ARCA debut at Mobile is Tyler Reddick, a 16-year-old Californian who now lives in DuQuoin, Ill. and will race for Ken Schrader Racing. "The California Kid" has over 120 career wins, three national championships, and five Rookie of the Year titles as a dirt super late model driver. He is the youngest driver to start a World of Outlaws feature event, the youngest to win at the East Bay Winter Nationals, and the youngest to win a Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series feature event.

 

"I'm really excited to race with Ken Schrader," Reddick said. "We've had a great relationship for a long time, racing at his track (Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55) in Pevely, Mo. Other than racing a bandolero car three or four times, all my racing so far has been on dirt, so this will be my first start in a stock car on pavement."

 

Reddick's car will be sponsored by two record labels: Broken Bow Records, featuring artist Jason Aldean; and Stoney Creek Records, featuring artist Thompson Square.

 

The wave of young drivers does not stop with Jones and Reddick. Clint King, the 16-year-old who won the Menards Pole Award presented by Ansell on his birthday last August at Madison, Wis. and later won a pole at Salem, Ind. for Venturini Motorsports, will also race at Mobile.

 

Chase Elliott, a Hendrick Motorsports development driver and the son of NASCAR champion Bill Elliott, will drive the No. 9 Chevrolet. Elliott plans to make five ARCA starts in 2012, including events at New Jersey in July, Berlin (Mich.) and Madison in August, and Salem in September. The 2011 NASCAR K&N Pro Series East Most Popular Driver, Elliott turned 16 in November, just one week before winning the Snowball Derby. 

 

The Mobile ARCA 200 will take place Saturday, March 10 at Mobile International Speedway. The race is scheduled to start at 2 p.m. Mobile will host practice and Menards Pole Qualifying presented by Ansell on Friday, March 9. The event at Mobile will be ARCA's first at the track.

The ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards has crowned an ARCA national champion each year since its inaugural season in 1953, and has toured over 200 race tracks in 28 states since its inception. UNE COURSE SUR GLACE AU CIRCUIT ICAR :: UNE PREMIÈRE A MIRABEL

Le Circuit ICAR de Mirabel est fier d’annoncer la présentation d’une spectaculaire course sur glace le dimanche 4 mars prochain.  L’événement sera disputé sur un circuit routier glacé et regroupera six (6) catégories avec des pilotes vedettes de plusieurs disciplines du sport motorisé.

 

CATÉGORIES AU PROGRAMME 

 

MOTOS

La catégorie de motos sur glace regroupera l’élite de cette discipline des plus spectaculaires sur deux roues.  Des pilotes de renom et de tous les coins de la province seront présents.  Maxime Sylvestre (Berthierville), Dominic Beaulac (Bécancour), Samuel Desbiens (Lac St-Jean), Bobby Desjardins (Ferme-Neuve), Michel Grenier (Buckingham) ne sont que quelques-unes des têtes d’affiche qui seront sur place.

 

VTT

Les pilotes de VTT parviendront également des quatre coins de la province avec des engins très puissants également de cylindrée ouverte.  Ces bolides à roues ouvertes sont très propices aux accrochages et dépassements des plus spectaculaires.   Bobby Desjardins, de Ferme-Neuve, sera à surveiller. Il pilotera chez les 2 roues et les 4 roues.  Michael Lainesse de Victoriaville est un jeune pilote prometteur dans cette discipline qui tentera d’éviter les obstacles et de remporter sa première victoire en VTT sur glace.

 

SIDE BY SIDE

Cette discipline, grande nouveauté en 2012, a fait son apparition au Supermotocross du Stade Olympique en 2011.  Maintenant présentée sur glace, plusieurs mordus s’adonnent à ce sport.  Cette catégorie est ouverte à tous et regroupera des bolides allant de 600cc jusqu'à 1000cc.  Les  Yamaha, Polaris, BRP, Arctic Cat et CF Moto seront à l’honneur dans cette nouvelle discipline sur glace.              

 

 

 

 

 

DÉFI DES CHAMPIONS CF MOTO  

Le side by side est probablement un des véhicules hors-route les plus vendus présentement parmi les adeptes de sensations fortes.  CF Moto une compagnie de la Beauce lancera le DÉFI DES CHAMPIONS au Circuit ICAR lors du Meltdown le 4 mars prochain.  Cette épreuve regroupera des champions de course automobile tel Dave Coursol (St-Jérome), jeune sensation de la course automobile au québec,  Steve Coté (Blainville) qui  se prépare pour une saison en NASCAR Canadian Tire qui l’amènera au Circuit ICAR les 2-3 Juin prochain.  Maxime Pelletier (Mascouche) est le champion Sportsman 2011 de la région. Marcel Fournier, 40 fois champion canadien sur moto et enfin,  Elie Arseneau, pilote instructeur du Circuit ICAR et en NASCAR Canadian Tire.  Il nous reste deux (2) places à confirmer à bord des bolides SNYPER.

 

AUTOS

Les autos seront divisées en trois (3) catégories.  Tous seront des véhicules 4 cylindres où toutes les modifications à la mécanique sont permises. La 1ère sera une classe non cramponnée n’exigeant aucune cage de protection.  La 2e catégorie est cramponnée MF 44 avec 200 cloues et moins  et la 3e  sera la plus rapide avec des pneus cloutés de 400 crampons et plus.  Les bolides seront tous des 4 cylindres avec cage de protection obligatoire.  Les pilotes à surveiller, Maxime Sylvestre (Berthier), Stéphane D’astous (Baie Comeau), Christian et Francois Gratton (Repentigny) et Olivier Mathieu (L’Assomption) ne représentent que quelques-unes des vingt (20) voitures attendues pour cet événement haut en couleurs. 

 

Son, animation, gradins et restaurant intérieur chauffée dans le chic Club House VIP du Circuit ICAR sera exceptionnellement ouvert a tous, toute la journée pour le MELTDOWN.  L’entrée spectateur est de 20$ pour adultes et  gratuit pour les enfants de 12 ans et moins.  Les pratiques débuteront à 9h30 le matin. Les finales débuteront à compter de 13h30.

UNE 5e RECRUE EN SPORTSMAN ANCA EN 2012

HANI CHINIARA FAIT LE SAUT À SON TOUR DANS LA CATÉGORIE MAÎTRESSE !

 

Tout comme Patrick Leporé, Sylvain Contant, Martin Fauteux et Neil Leblond qui graduent de classe en 2012, le pilote de la voiture #64 en Production, HANI CHINIARA réalise à son tour un vieux rêve, et c’est en Sportsman qu’on le verra compétitionner en 2012.

 

C’est suite à une transaction qui a eu lieu avec Alain Lachapelle au cours des derniers jours que le pilote de Ville Saint-Laurent deviendra la 5e recrue de cette division. Un “plus” pour la catégorie puisque Chiniara participera à tous les événements, contrairement à Lachapelle qui ne participait qu’occasionnellement aux courses Sportsman avec un bilan de 4 apparitions en piste au cours de la dernière saison.

 

La Série Master Sportsman Canada/USA intéresse fortement la nouvelle recrue qui a l’intention d’y participer.

 

On sait que la Série Master Sporstman Canada/USA est un championnat de 6 courses opposant les Sportsman ANCA de l’Autodrome St-Eustache et ceux de la piste Airborne Park Speedway de Plattsburgh NY, un championnat qui suscite un engouement certain auprès des pilotes des deux côtés de la frontière.

 

Hani Chiniara est un fervent adepte de sports motorisés à plusieurs niveaux. Il compte plusieurs années de compétition dans les différentes divisions de l’ANCA. On l’a vu également à plusieurs reprises dans les épreuves d’endurance à chaque débuts et fins de saison au fil des ans. Il est également propriétaire d’une camionnette Procam/Super Truck, une série qui visitera l’Autodrome St-Eustache à 2 reprises en 2012. Hani est également un passionné d’accélération, il possède d’ailleurs la populaire voiture “Big Bad Nova” ainsi que plusieurs voitures de collection.

 

Comme toujours, il sera supporté par LE CENTRE DE L’AUTO CHINIARA de Ville Saint-Laurent.

 

Les pilotes Sportsman  seront en piste le 28 avril prochain, lors de la journée porte ouverte de l’Autodrome St-Eustache, et lors de la première course de la Coupe Master Sportsman Canada USA à Plattsburgh, NY le 12 mai avant de revenir à St-Eustache pour l’ouverture officielle le 19 mai.
