(TOLEDO, Ohio) - Officials from the Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA) and Menards, Inc. have announced that the Wisconsin-based home improvement retailer has renewed its sponsorship of Toledo Speedway's Menards 200 for the 2012 season.

The Menards 200, scheduled for Sunday, May 20, will be the only ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards event on the series' home track this season.

The race, which will have presenting sponsorship from Federated Car Care, will highlight the eighth annual ARCA Fan Fest weekend at Toledo Speedway, a two-day racing spectacular which will also include the ARCA Truck Series Grogan's Towne 50 on Saturday, May 19. A fan-interactive festival - featuring numerous interactive displays and options for race fans of all ages - will be held on the speedway property both days.

Fans can "Save Big Money at Menards," as six Ohio Menards locations will offer advance sale tickets for the Menards 200 presented by Federated Car Care at a 40 percent discount off of the at-track race day price. Starting tomorrow - Friday, April 6 - customers at three Menards stores in Toledo - Alexis Rd., Airport Hwy., and Oregon - and stores in Defiance, Findlay, and Sandusky can purchase race tickets for $15 each, a $10 savings from the May 20 at-track price.

"Menards remains a very important strategic marketing partner, not only for Toledo Speedway, but for the entire ARCA Racing Series," said Mark Gundrum, vice president of business development and corporate partnerships for ARCA. "We're excited to begin another season of big savings at Menards stores with the Menards 200 presented by Federated Car Care at ARCA's home track on May 20."

SPEED will televise the race, which is scheduled to take the green flag at 2 p.m. All practice and Menards Pole Qualifying presented by Ansell activity will take place the day before, with practices starting at 11:45 a.m. and 1 p.m., and qualifying at 3:30 p.m.

On race day, every ARCA Racing Series driver in the starting field will sign autographs on the track from noon-1 p.m.

The ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards has crowned an ARCA national champion each year since its inaugural season in 1953, and has toured over 200 race tracks in 28 states since its inception. The series has tested the abilities of drivers and race teams over the most diverse schedule of stock car racing events in the world, visiting tracks ranging from 0.4 mile to 2.66 miles in length, on both paved and dirt surfaces as well as a left- and right-turn road course in its most recent season. This year, the series visited Alabama's Mobile International Speedway for the first time. In June, the first event at Minnesota's Elko Speedway will give ARCA a race in a 29th state.

Founded by John and Mildred Marcum in 1953 in Toledo, Ohio, the Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA) is recognized among the leading sanctioning bodies in the country. Closing in on completing its sixth decade after hundreds of thousands of miles of racing, ARCA administers over 100 race events each season in three professional touring series and local weekly events.

Drivers From Around the Country to Hunt for the "$5,000 Prize Egg" in the PASS South Easter Bunny 150

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Pro All Stars Series-South

Charlotte, NC 4/3/12- Every Easter hunting for eggs is a tradition around the country with a special “prize egg” as the one sought out egg amongst all young egg hunters. In most occasions that prize egg holds money that every kid desires so bad, and the fact they can brag about being the best Easter egg hunter to others is always a bonus. This Saturday at the Hickory (NC) Motor Speedway one of the biggest “prize eggs” in the country, worth about $5,000, is up for grabs in the seventh annual running of the PASS South Easter Bunny 150.

Over forty cars are expected to converge on the 3/8th mile track for Saturday night’s event. Former Easter Bunny 150 winners Ben Rowe, Ryan Lawler, Preston Peltier, and Stephen Nasse will all look to become the first repeat winner. If history is anywhere close to repeating itself the Easter Bunny 150 winner will give fans a pretty solid indication on who will win the series championship in 2012, as four out of six champions the series has crowned, won the 150 lap event the same year they won the series points championship.
In addition to plenty of former series champions and Easter Bunny 150 winners, several familiar names planning part time PASS South season schedules in 2012 such as now NASCAR Nationwide Series driver Ryan Blaney, Andy Loden, Steven Legendre, Trevor Sanborn, and Trey Mitchell have all filed entries for the event. A couple of additions to the entry list in the form of Kyle Desouza and Dustin Hubbard from the PASS North Series also plan on making the trip South.
While the plethora of drivers making the trip to Hickory may steal the headlines, the quality of racing will be what’s most visible come race day. Whether it be qualifying or the last chance race for non-qualified drivers, racing your way into the twenty-eight car starting field is a tough task for all.
Another factor for competitors to consider is the Easter Buuny 150 race is the first of seven National Championship events for the Pro All Stars Series set to take place in 2012. So far the National Championship has been dominated by northern racers and depending on how the results play out the northern dominance could continue in 2012.
Fans around the world that won’t have a chance to see the PASS South Easter Bunny 150 in person will be able to catch the event live via online pay per view courtesy of 3 Wide Networks. For $19.99 fans will be able to view 3 Wide Networks multiple camera live feed with their personal computers, laptops, cell phones, or iPads with play-by-play action from series announcer Alan Dietz through the public address system.
The 2012 Easter Bunny 150 at the Hickory Motor Speedway kicks off Saturday April 7th at 12 noon with practice followed by time trials at 4:30pm. PASS South super late model last chance races, Bandolero, Legend, and Allison Legacy Series features start at 6pm with the Easter Bunny 150 to follow at approximately 8pm.
For more information about the Easter Bunny 150 including exact scheduling and pre entered competitors visit www.proallstarsseries.com.

Waterbury, VT – There will be no less than (13) thirteen former champion drivers entered in the 2012 ACT opener at Lee USA on Sunday, April 15, 2012. Between them they have accumulated 48 track and/or touring series championships during their careers. The annual opening New Hampshire Governor’s Cup 150 at Lee USA Speedway is expected to field the best opening day group of racers in its 22 event history.

Heading the list of former champions is Brian Hoar, Williston, VT. He is an (8) eight-time ACT Champion and also owns a Thunder Road and Airborne track championship. Hoar also is the defending NH Governor Cup winner. Jean-Paul Cyr, Milton, VT is a (7) seven-time ACT Champion and also is the 2010 Thunder Road track Champion.

Part-time ACT driver and noted car builder with nine (9) Oxford Plains Speedway Pro Stock titles, Jeff Taylor from Farmington, ME, along with two-time Oxford Pro Stock Champion Ricky Rolfe from Farmington, ME will look to take the Cup back to the Pine Tree State.

A home track favorite from New Hampshire and top ACT US competitor will try and bring the Governor’s Cup back home to the Granite State. Wayne Helliwell, Jr. has 6 championships; he is a two-time Ford Blue Oval Champion and a four-time Lee USA track Champion. Another favorite looking for his first ACT win is Lancaster, NH’s Quinny Welch. He has three titles at the White Mountain Motorsports Park. Randy Potter from Groveton, NH is a former Riverside Speedway Champion and veteran ACT challenger.

Potter’s Crew Chief Pete Knights said, “We really think we had a ‘bounce back’ season last year. We were in a position to win at least two or three races but didn’t get the job done. Winning the opener at Lee would really help our team regain the momentum we established in 2011. We have had a good off-season preparing the car and are anxious for the season to start.”

Three-time Airborne Champion Brent Dragon, Milton, VT and another Airborne Late Model Track Champion Mark Lamberton from Mooers Forks, NY have entered. “Well, we have a new car built at the McColl shops in Ontario and have tested it with the McColl folks. I know Richard Green Racing has been involved in ACT racing for a long time, and I would love to get things started at Lee like we did last year at New Smyrna. The key for us is to get the car to last and be consistent. I would love to have a great season for Rick (owner RGR),” said Lamberton.

Thunder Road former track Champions Jamie Fisher, Shelburne, VT and Nick Sweet from Barre, VT are both capable of contending for the NH Governor’s   Cup. Sweet said, “We have taken over the responsibility for the Mad Dog Racing Team in 2012. That means that our touring responsibility is to help owner Eric Chase, but we also get to do some touring, so we will just see what happens at Lee. I know we are also excited about getting Thunder Road weekly racing going. It should be a fun race season.”

Two surprise entries for the 2012 opening event have been received by perennial title contenders on the ACT Castrol Series in the Province of Quebec. Former champions Donald Theetge, Boischatel, QC and Karl Allard from Ste. Felicien, QC will join the rest of the champions. Theetge will look for his third title in 2012 and Allard will contest for his second beginning May 26, 2012 at the Castrol Series opener at the 1/3rd mile speedway in Montmagny, QC, east of Quebec City.

“This has to be one of the strongest opening day fields of cars we have ever enjoyed. With all the championship talent mentioned, we can’t forget about guys like former winner Joey Polewarczyk, Jr., Hudson, NH, Eddie MacDonald, Rowley, MA, and new young star Austin Theriault from Fort Kent, ME. I am sure there will be other surprises over the April 15 weekend. Lee NH Gov. Cups have given us nine (9) different winners in a row. With over forty teams expected to be at the Governor’s Cup 150, a lot of unexpected things can happen. Fans are in for a real treat to get the season started,” said Tom Curley, President of the American Canadian Tour.

The opening event for ACT at Lee USA will be the first event to qualify the winner for the Bond Auto ACT Invitational to be held at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway in conjunction with the NASCAR Sprint Cup weekend, September 22/23, 2012.

The NH Governor’s Cup 150 is scheduled for Sunday, April 15 at Lee USA Speedway, in Lee, New Hampshire. Gates will open at 10am. Admission is $25 Adults, $15 Junior 13-16, and Kids 12 and under free.

VR-12 Joins ARCA Performance Partners Program and Becomes Official Product Sponsor

For Immediate Release:
Tuesday, March 27, 2012

(TOLEDO, Ohio) - Officials from the Automobile Racing Club of America and Freezetone Products, USA recently announced that VR-12 has joined the ARCA Performance Partners Program as an official product sponsor for 2012.

Freezetone Products Inc. is one of the leading manufacturers of additives and coolants for combustion engines worldwide, and has been developing environmentally safe formulas since 1978 for the automotive aftermarket.

"We are pleased to welcome VR-12 and their coolant system products to the ARCA family of corporate partners as an official product sponsor," said Mark Gundrum, vice president of business development and corporate partnerships for ARCA.

VR-12 is a concentrate of organic chemical components, blended through a synergetic process designed to protect a vehicle's cooling system. The innovative composition protects a vehicle's cooling components from rust and corrosion, reduces friction, and improves heat transfer, therefore lowering temperature, which equals better mileage.

"ARCA's competition department has approved VR-12 for use in all of ARCA's racing divisions," Gundrum said. "It is the first radiator additive ever approved for competition."

The performance of VR-12 is constantly monitored, reviewed, and adapted to the progress and standards of the automobile industry. VR-12 is subject to the most stringent quality control testing to ensure performance.

"It is our goal to exceed the expectations of everyone involved in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards," said Luis M. Latour, CEO of VR-12. "Using VR-12 will enhance the cooling system's peak performances. Less wear equals better mileage. VR-12's involvement with ARCA will be a giant step for racing."

VR-12 will post per-race contingency awards throughout the 2012 ARCA Racing Series season, as well as a year-end award. As an official category sponsor in the ARCA Performance Partners Program, VR-12 will also become a point fund sponsor. Already, the company has participated in the first two races of ARCA's 60th Anniversary Season: the annual season opener at Daytona International Speedway in Florida, and ARCA's first event at Mobile International Speedway in Alabama.

The next race for the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards will take place Sunday, April 29 at Salem Speedway. The 200-lap, 111-mile Kentuckiana Ford Dealers 200 is scheduled to start at 2:15 p.m. Salem will host practice and Menards Pole Qualifying presented by Ansell on Saturday, April 28. The event at Salem will be ARCA's 91st at the track, where nine-time ARCA champion Frank Kimmel has nine wins.

2012 is the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards' 60th Anniversary Season, featuring 20 races at 18 tracks. The complete 2012 event schedule is available at ARCARacing.com.

PASS South Easter Bunny 150 a Must Attend Destination for Competitors and Fans Alike

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
PASS-South
Charlotte, NC 3/28/12- There are a few select races throughout the country that both fans and competitors alike circle on their calendars every year once schedules are announced that they mark as a must attend. Most of those events have twenty, thirty, or even forty years of history that has built them to what they are today. However, the PASS South Easter Bunny 150 at the Hickory (NC) Motor Speedway has developed into one of the most attended races by competitors in the country in just six years of existence.

An average of fifty cars have attended each of the last two Easter Bunny 150 events making it the most attended single day super late model event in the country during that time. Just making the event is an accomplishment for some drivers such as Landon Cling, driving under the Brad Kesolowski Racing banner, who made his first career Easter Bunny 150 start a season ago.
“I don’t think I realized at the time but now looking back making the field in such a big race like the Easter Bunny 150 my first year of super late model racing was a pretty big accomplishment. We didn’t have the finish we wanted, but overall I think that race really showed a lot of people the promise of my BKR race team,” said 2012 PASS South Series championship contender Landon Cling.
Other drivers that have won a Bunny trophy knows what it feels like to be on top of the super late model world. An Easter Bunny win comes with plenty of recognition both near and far as it did for Ryan Lawler when he won the event in 2007 on his way to the PASS South Series championship that year. Lawler, who now just competes randomly behind the wheel, will be back at this year’s Easter Bunny 150 piloting Robert Hamke’s #74 machine. In addition to Lawler, plenty of PASS veterans have already filled entries such Jay Fogleman, Brandon Ward, Preston Peltier, Ben Rowe, and Cassius Clark, driving the #8 machine owned by Dick Woodman.
The talent behind the wheel from all corners of the country converging on one track has lead to fans flocking from as far as Canada to schedule personal vacation time around the event just to see the action packed, bumping and banging racing the abrasive 3/8th mile oval produces.
“My buddies and I have made the trip from Ontario, Canada the last three years to catch the Easter Bunny 150 and the caliber of competition that shows up is unreal. Without a doubt it is one of the best super late model races in North America and continues to get better every year,” noted fan Spencer Lewis via the Pro All Stars Series Facebook page.
This year, fans abroad that haven’t had a chance to see what the Easter Bunny 150 is all about in person will be able to watch the event live via online pay per view courtesy of 3 Wide Networks.
