Jean-François Dumoulin en sera à sa première participation au Indy en série NASCAR Canadian Tire, au volant de la Dodge Bellemare nº 04. Le Trifluvien compte de nombreux faits d'armes sur la piste torontoise. En 2000, il est parti en queue de peloton et a dépassé plus de 50 voitures pour remporter l'épreuve, avec l'équipe New Tech Motorsport. « Je suis très enthousiaste pour la course de Toronto. C'est un circuit que j'affectionne beaucoup, même si ça fait longtemps que je n'ai pas couru là-bas. À Mosport, ça allait très bien. De plus, on a changé le moteur dans ma voiture. Je pense qu'on sera mieux outillés cette fin de semaine et ça devrait être très intéressant », mentionne Jean-François Dumoulin. Louis-Philippe Dumoulin, quatrième et premier Québécois au Grand Prix ICAR de Mirabel le 5 juin, était en voie d'obtenir un deuxième top cinq en autant de courses au Vortex Brake Pads 200 à Mosport, alors qu'un accrochage l'a forcé à l'abandon avec 14 tours à faire. Le cadet des frères Dumoulin est monté sur la plus haute marche du podium au Indy de Toronto en 2002, année où il a été sacré champion canadien en Formule Ford. « Je suis très confiant. À Mosport, ma voiture Maskimo/Somavrac n°47 (Dodge) était performante et on aurait pu faire un top cinq. Cette année, on fait cinq épreuves avec les deux voitures, avec une équipe des plus performante », soutient Louis-Philippe Dumoulin. Dumoulin Compétition, en partenariat avec le Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières, Manac, PubliDesign et Super 8 (Downtown Toronto), participe cette année à toutes les épreuves sur circuits routiers en série NASCAR Canadian Tire. Les deux frères Dumoulin seront de retour à la maison au Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières (5-6-7 août), puis termineront la saison lors de l'épreuve en marge du NAPA 200 à Montréal (20 août). Louis-Philippe Dumoulin, who finished in fourth position – first Quebecker – at Grand Prix ICAR in Mirabel on June 5th, was on his way to a second top-five in a row at the Vortex Brake Pads 200 in Mosport two weeks ago when an incident forced him to retire with only 14 laps to go in the race. The youngest of the Dumoulin brothers won the Indy of Toronto in 2002, the year where he won the Canadian Formula Ford Championship's title. "I am very confident. In Mosport, my No. 47 Maskimo/Somavrac car was extremely competitive and we could have finished in the top-five had everything gone our way.
