Waterbury, VT – The American Canadian Tour (ACT) has announced the twenty eight teams that will comprise the starting field for the highly anticipated inaugural Goodyear Speedweeks Cup event to be held at the New Smyrna Speedway (NSS) in Florida during next month’s Daytona Speedweeks. ACT will present two 100-lap features on Sunday night, February 13, 2011 and Monday night, February 14, 2011 during the New Smyrna World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing. The posted purse will be $36,655.00

Qualifying for the Sunday event will use the northern style heat racing to establish the lineup. Fans from all over the country will see the unique +/- system incorporated into the ACT qualifying program four years ago. The Monday 100 lap feature will see an inversion from the results of the Sunday feature event.

“Since this will be our first trip to New Smyrna, we wanted to make sure we offer the many fans from around the country the most exciting and competitive racing we can,” said Tom Curley, President of the American Canadian Tour. “I think what makes our racing so popular in the Northeast is that we have a kind of a ‘no holds barred but respectful approach to racing’ --- at NSS, teams will have to race their way in through heats, and then Monday may the best man win racing from the rear,” Curley continued.

The non-points race for the ACT competitors is perhaps the most diverse field in the 25-year history of the ACT. Teams will make the 20-30 hour haul from six states and two provinces of Canada. The twenty-eight teams will include: both 2010 Champions from the ACT US and the ACT Castrol Edge Series; eleven teams from Canada; a two-time Oxford Plains TD Bank 250 winner; both the 2009 and 2010 New Hampshire Motor Speedway ACT Invitational winners; three Thunder Road Milk Bowl winners and a number of weekly defending track champions.

Après Denis Boutet #70 et Marco Savoie#27/Samuel Fontaine #28, voici que le Lac St-Jean sera représenté en 2011.

David Gagnon qui portera le #47 d'Alma fera ses débuts avec la Série Sportsman Québec avec comme commanditaire principal "Suspension Turcotte" d'Alma. Après 3 saisons avec de bons résultats et des visites sur le podium, Gagnon fait un autre pas en avant. Il sera épaulé par un ancien champion Sportsman, Mickaël Lavoie qui sera un conseiller et équipier de premier plan.

David sera éligible au titre de Recrue de L'Année en 2011 tout comme les Boutet #70 et Fontaine #28 jusqu'à présent.

"Maryeve Dufault; Jared Marks and Chase Austin All Enjoy Seat Time In TMR Entry"

DAYTONA BEACH, Florida (January 18, 2011) - - Tony Marks Racing (TMR), the newest multi-car operation in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards wasn't shy about holding back in the recent three-day test session at the newly re-paved Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway. In fact, the Ohio-based ARCA team quickly raised the eyebrows of their fellow competitors after TMR immediately showed strength and stabilization in their first tango with the 2.5-mile superspeedway.

Armed with the legendary Larry Moore as crew chief, TMR brought three drivers to the "World Center of Racing" as an opportunity to prepare the newest female sensation Maryeve Dufault to become acquainted with the breathtaking racetrack while also utilizing the experience of NASCAR driver Chase Austin to critique the team's performance.

For 16-year old rising star Jared Marks, the dream of competing at Daytona inched one step closer as the Champion Racing Association (CRA) competitor also climbed into the cockpit for several laps around DIS to give him a taste of what is yet to come.

Even though three drivers were on-hand with for the first official open-test of the new season, much concentration was surrounded on the team's full-time pilot of Maryeve Dufault, who will make her first ARCA Racing Series start next month.

After spending 2010 competing in the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series presented by Mobil 1, Dufault, a native of Los Angeles will leap into the most diverse racing series in the United States hoping to gain experience, respect and support as she vows to become the first female driver to win an ARCA Racing Series event in the history of the 58-year old sanctioning body.

To say that the Tony Marks Racing team wasn't busy during the three days is a huge understatement. From single-car runs to drafting and everything else in between, Dufault, Marks and Austin all delivered solid results which sensors off good vibes for the freshman team heading into the season-opener in less than a month.

Overall, Dufault led the TMR charge by placing her No. 12b Tony Marks Racing Dodge Charger into 28th out of 58 competitors after posting her fastest lap at 49.203 seconds at 182.916 miles per hour. Dufault edged out several familiar ARCA competitors including nine-time ARCA champion Frank Kimmel and the 2010 ARCA Racing Series champion Patrick Sheltra. She was also the second fastest of the six other females on-track during the open-test only trailing Milka Duno.

Marks and Austin, both in single-car rounds posted times that were 41^st and 42^nd respectively overall. The team leaned on comfort not speed for Jared Marks, son of car owner Tony Marks hopped in the seat of the No. 12a Charger and wheeled his automobile around the track in 49.830 seconds or a tick over 180.550 miles per hour. It was a solid lap time for the teenage racer, who under ARCA Racing Series sanctioning age restrictions is allowed to test but not race at the historic facility.

"Overall, we're completely satisfied with the way the test came out," said Tony Marks, owner of Tony Marks Racing. "Chase, Jared and Maryeve all did an exceptional job shaking the car down and producing great feedback. I appreciate Chase being here with the team as a driver coach to the future of our great program. Maryeve did exactly what she needed to do and we believe she gained a lot of respect from her competitors."

He went onto say, "Jared will run some ARCA races later this year and we wanted to make sure he was comfortable in the car not to mention gather priceless seat time. We'll be back next month and hope we can continue to gain the trust and respect of our competitors while also deliver solid results for our team partners."

Dufault expressed her overview of the test by stating, "I'm really happy with the progression we had at the test. I felt really comfortable in the car and I achieved what I wanted to do," she said. "I cannot say enough about the Tony Marks Racing team. They did an amazing job. They've worked really hard despite having very little time to put the car together. We showed we had a very competitive piece. I really have a positive feeling for us for the race."

Tony Marks Racing plans to sport two cars in the 2011 season-opener with Dufault and possibly Austin as a teammate. The schedule will turn later in the year and allow Marks behind the second-car for up to 11 races, including much of the series' short track contests.

Before tackling the breathtaking Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway this week, the freshman organization spent Monday testing at New Smyrna (Fla.) Speedway allowing the team to shake down their short-track program with all three TMR protégés being allowed priceless seat time behind the wheel. Dufault will make her ARCA Racing Series short track debut at Salem (Ind.) Speedway on May 1, 2011.

Nestled back at their shop in Napoleon, Ohio, the TMR team is preparing for the first of 19 ARCA Racing Series events on the 2011 schedule which launches with the Lucas Oil Slick Mist 200 at Daytona on Saturday, February 12, 2011 live on SPEED.

DAYTONA BEACH, Florida (January 18, 2011) - - They may be one of the newest teams in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards garage, but Brian Rose Motorsports (BRM) left Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway looking like pros as the newly organized team left the grounds with solid results leaving the group itching to return to the "World Center of Racing."

Stalled by a monstrous winter storm that nearly crippled much of the mid-west and eastern states, Brian Rose Motorsports' tango with Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway would be stalled until Wednesday, allowing just two days for the Danny Rollins-led team to strut their stuff.

By the conclusion of day number two and using the words of some of their competition, "they are on their game."

Unloading the No. 4 Harris Trucking / Team ASE Toyota Camry, Brian Rose, a Louisville, Kentucky native tackled the newly re-paved Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway for the first time on Wednesday afternoon. The team maneuvered the 17^th fastest lap during the four-hour session by bolting his Japanese nameplate around the 2.5-mile superspeedway in 48.965 seconds or 183.805 miles per hour in a single-car run.

For Rose, the opportunity to return to Daytona is like a second chance. In 2002, the avid racecar driver piloted a Bobby Hamilton Racing (BHR) Dodge Ram to an impressive third place finish after qualifying fourth. In less than a month, Rose and his posse will return to the Daytona Beach racetrack eyeing the biggest win of his racing career thus far.

"We're pretty happy," said Rose on Wednesday afternoon. "We're not finished yet though. We were just shaking our No. 4 Harris Trucking / Team ASE Toyota Camry down, making sure we didn't have any major issues. Danny (Rollins) and I will talk and I think we can deliver bigger and better things on Thursday."

Delivering is exactly what the BRM team did the following day.

In the morning non-drafting session, Rose and his team made a mock-qualification run and blistered the track in 49.290 seconds transferring to a speed of 182.593 miles per hour, raising the team to fifth on the overall morning rundown.

Looking for a little more feedback on their Toyota, the team collectively agreed to participate in the final drafting session of the three-day test on Thursday afternoon. The primary objective for the No. 4 team was to clarify whether their automobile would draft competitively. And clearly based on the results of the drafting session, mission accomplished.

Rose's Toyota posted the second-fastest time during the final drafting session on Thursday afternoon by whipping his No. 4 Harris Trucking / Team ASE Toyota Camry around the historic track in 48.664 seconds or 184.942 miles per hour.

The lap was strong enough to send the team packing and head back home with just a little over an hour and a half remaining in the ARCA open-test.

"I don't think we could of asked for anything more during the test," sounded Rose. "I was hoping that missing a day would not hurt our Brian Rose Motorsports team. We knew that we had to bust our tails to make sure we accomplished what we wanted to do and I believe we did that and more."

He continued, "I cannot thank Danny (Rollins) and the entire team for their efforts this week. It's without a doubt had it's trying moments with the weather and whatnot but we stuck it out and we're happy with what we produced."

Rose also mentioned what it meant to him to be rekindled with Rollins, who called the shots in his rookie year for BHR. "Man, I can't say enough about Danny," Rose admitted. "It's like our chemistry never disappeared. He taught me a few things about these ARCA cars and once I was able to find our comfort zone, our speed increased and the rest was literally history. Hopefully we can come back here in a couple weeks and pick up right where we left off from here."

Rollins, well respected in the NASCAR community will return as the crew chief for Brian Rose Motorsports. Rollins was the man responsible for guiding the young-gun to his first career NASCAR top-five finish at Daytona (Fla.) Speedway nearly nine years ago.

Harris Trucking and Team ASE have leaped aboard as marketing partners in the No. 4 Toyota Camry for the first of 19 events on the 2011 ARS calendar, but the freshman team is planning to announce more supporters in the next couple of weeks leading up to ARCA's biggest race of the season.

South Plattsburgh, NY – The DART Race of Champions Modified Tour will make its first appearance at Airborne Speedway Saturday, June 4, 2011 track promoter Mike Perrotte has announced.

“This is the premier asphalt series for NASCAR-type Modified series in New York,” Perrotte said. “They race at many asphalt tracks throughout the state, including the Race of Champions 200 at Oswego Speedway.”

Matt Hirschman, 28, of Northampton, PA, will lead the Race of Champions contingent into Plattsburgh. Hirschman is the four-time and defending RoC champion. His father, Tony Hirschman, is a five-time NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour champion and the winner of the 2010 RoC 200 at Oswego.

Other top competitors on the Race of Champions circuit include 2010 runner-up Deren Scherer of Binghamton, NY, Erick Rudolph and Chuck Hossfeld of Ransomville, NY and Jan and Mike Leaty, a father and son combination from Williamson, NY.

“I’m always interested in racing at a new track,” Matt Hirschman said. “But I’m really excited to be going to Airborne. I’ve heard a lot of good things about the track and the way it’s run.”

Hirschman also plans to compete as a regular on the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour as do several of the Race of Champions Tour drivers. “I’ll be racing with my own equipment to defend the RoC title and drive the Boehler Racing Enterprises No. 3 on the Whelen Tour,” he said.

Quebec, QC – 2010 Série ACT Castrol Edge Champion Karl Allard of St-Félicien, QC celebrated his championship at the 2010 Série ACT Castrol Edge Banquet of Champions on Saturday, January 15 at the Hotel Quebec Inn in Quebec City, Quebec. It is Allard’s first career Série ACT Castrol Edge Championship although he has finished inside the top five in the year end standings for each of the series four seasons since its creation in 2007. During the 2010 season Allard and his Denis Larue owned team put together the most dominant late model touring season since the inception of the ACT Late Model in 1992. With his record six wins, Allard claimed the top honors over runner-up and 2008 Série ACT Castrol Edge Champion Patrick Laperle of St-Denis, Quebec. Allard took home a year end point fund check of $10,000 to bring his season total to $33,810 in the 11 event season.

2009 Série ACT Castrol Edge Champion Donald Theetge of Quebec City, Quebec, became the 42^nd recipient of the prestigious MacTavish Award. The award is named after legendary New England racer Don MacTavish who was killed in 1969 while racing at Daytona International Speedway. Theetge received the award, which is one of the top honors presented by ACT, for his support of American Canadian Tour racing for over two decades. Theetge began competing with ACT in 1988, back when the tour ran Pro Stock type cars. He has been competing with ACT off and on ever since and is considered one of the most talented and respectful drivers in the Northeast and Eastern Canada.

The 2010 Série ACT Castrol Edge Rookie of the Year Award went to 17 year old Alex Labbé of St-Albert, Quebec. Labbé also earned fifth in the overall standings on his way to the rookie title. In his eleven starts, Labbé earned five top tens, including a career high fourth place finish on two different occasions.

Drivers in attendance from the top 15 in the 2010 Série ACT Castrol Edge Championship Point Standings received trophies as well as over $36,000 in point fund money. Product certificates from Bassett Racing Wheels and Five Star Racecar Bodies were also awarded.

The 2011 Série ACT Castrol Edge schedule has been announced with a total of 12 events across Quebec and includes two events with its sister series the ACT Late Model Tour at Airborne Speedway in Plattsburgh, New York and New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon, New Hampshire. Many of the Quebec drivers will cure their winter racing crave with a trip to New Smyrna Speedway in New Smyrna, Florida for the ACT Goodyear Speedweeks on Sunday, February 13 and Monday, February 14.

Karl Allard de St-Félicien et les membres de l’équipe Larue Équipement de déneigement ont célébré dignement leur championnat de la série ACT Castrol Edge gagné au cours de la saison estivale, samedi soir à l’occasion du Banquet des Champions qui s’est déroulé à l’hôtel Québec Inn de la Vieille Capitale. Pour le récipiendaire, il s’agissait d’un premier titre en carrière dans la série ACT Castrol Edge même si depuis sa création en 2007, le Félicinois a toujours terminé parmi les cinq premiers au cumulatif.

Durant la dernière saison, Allard et l’équipe Larue ont été les auteurs d’une domination jamais égalée depuis que l’ACT a opté pour la classe Late Model en 1992. Avec une nouvelle marque de six victoires en onze tentatives, Allard a mérité la couronne devant le champion de la saison 2008, Patrick Laperle de St-Denis-sur-Richelieu. Pour son exploit, Allard s’est vu remettre un chèque de 10 000 $ en provenance du fonds de points portant ainsi son total de gains pour 2010 à 33 810 $ en onze confrontations.

Tout un honneur

Pour sa part, le champion de la saison 2009 de la série ACT Castrol Edge, Donald Theetge est devenu la 42^e personnalité à recevoir l’une des plus importantes marques de distinction de l’ACT, le trophée MacTavish. Ce trophée a été instauré en mémoire de Don MacTavish, un pilote de la Nouvelle-Angleterre qui a connu une fin tragique lors d’une course à la piste internationale de Daytona en 1969. Theetge a été choisi pour son support continu à l’American Canadian Tour au cours des deux dernières décennies. Il a joint les rangs de l’ACT en 1988 alors que la série utilisait des bolides de la classe Pro Stock. Depuis ce temps, il a participé à de nombreuses épreuves de l’organisation américaine tant au Canada qu’aux Etats-Unis. Il est considéré à juste titre comme étant un pilote des plus talentueux et très respecté dans le nord-est des États-Unis ainsi que dans l’est du Canada.

Lors de cette soirée, le jeune Alex Labbé de St-Albert qui n’est âgé que de dix-sept ans a été officiellement proclamé «la recrue de l’année». En route vers cet honneur très convoité, Labbé a terminé au cinquième échelon du cumulatif. Durant la saison, il s’est classé parmi les dix premiers en cinq occasions et à deux reprises, il s’est distingué en terminant en quatrième position, tout un exploit.

Les pilotes présents parmi les 15 meilleurs au cumulatif de cette série ACT Castrol Edge en 2010 ont reçu plus de 36 000 $ en bourses et trophées. Également des certificats provenant de deux importants commanditaires, Bassett Racing Wheels et Five Star Racecar Bodies ont été tirés au sort parmi les pilotes.

On a également confirmé que la série ACT Castrol Edge, édition 2011, comporterait douze épreuves dont deux seront tenues conjointement avec la série américaine de l’ACT à la piste Airborne de Plattsburgh ainsi qu’au New Hampshire Motor Speedway. (TORONTO, ON // January 14, 2011) On Friday, January 21, visitors to the Canadian Motorsports Expo will have an opportunity to join a host of Ontario stock car veterans, including legendary Hall of Famer Junior Hanley and crew members Bob Sumak, Ross May and Peter Andaloro for a ‘Bench Racing’ discussion recalling the exploits, adventures and achievements of legendary Canadian racer Don Biederman.

Biederman, who passed away in 1999, is also a member of the Canadian Motorsport Hall of Fame (inducted in 2001). As a racer and personality, Biederman was true character, often described as cantankerous, opinionated and outspoken. But in addition to those things, he was a very determined, talented and successful racer.

Hanley and the others will be on hand to chat about Biederman, and their time racing with – and against – each other. Adding to the Biederman tribute will be the presence of the recently discovered ’72 Nova, which Biederman took to victory lane in the 1977 Oxford 250, racing against several NASCAR stars.

Discussing his longtime friend, rival and fellow Canadian Motorsport Hall of Fame member, Hanley said, “Don was a pretty good racer, and he came to the track to win. He was a different person at the track; no one was going to get in his way.”

A regular competitor on the Ontario short track circuit, Biederman eventually expanded his schedule to include 42 NASCAR Grand National events; a pair of top 10 finishes being his best results. The racer’s most memorable accomplishment came in 1977 when he took his #43 Nova to victory lane, in Oxford, Maine. It was there he won the prestigious NASCAR-sanctioned Oxford 250, besting NASCAR stars like Bob Pressley, Harry Gant and Morgan Shepherd. The upset win still ranks high on the list of Canadian racing accomplishments. That season, Biederman also won the Maple Leaf 250 and the Northern 200.

Unfortunately, the Canadian racing fraternity lost Don Biederman much too early when he passed away at his home, in Brantford (ON) on May 31, 1999 at the age of 59. Continued Hanley, “Don was out of the car by then, but he was still helping a lot of guys with their equipment. Don was one of those personalities that everyone missed once he was gone.”

The Hanley / Biederman Forum takes place Friday, January 21 at 6 p.m. on the main stage at the Canadian Motorsports Expo. Don’t miss this rare opportunity to get a rare, personal insight into one some of the most exciting and successful characters in Canadian motorsports history.

As for Biederman’s legendary ’77 Oxford 250-winning Nova, it is being supplied to the show in its pre-restored condition by owner John Hutchins, and thanks to the efforts of Canadian racing photographer Dave Franks. Last year, the car was discovered in storage on the property of Hutchins’ business, Heart Lake Used Auto Parts, in Brampton, ON.

“John Hutchins owned the car and had it tucked away years ago,” explained Franks. “We went looking for a Nova in order to build a Biederman replica, but we lucked out and found the original. The restoration is a work in progress, but we will have the unfinished body hung on the frame in time for the CME show.”

Dave Franks (DaveFranksPhotos.com) will also be at the show to participate in the forum. He will also have a booth, selling and displaying thousands of historical photos from his collection, including many of Hanley (signed), Biederman, Dale Earnhardt, NASCAR, ACT, CASCAR, and tons more from the Ontario short track racing scene over the past several decades.

CME PR - Rising Stock Car Star Steve Arpin to Appear at the Cdn. Motorsports Expo

RISING CANADIAN STOCK CAR STAR STEVE ARPIN TO APPEAR AT THE CANADIAN MOTORPSORTS EXPO
The Racing Season Begins January 21-23, 2011 at Toronto’s International Centre

(TORONTO, ON // January 14, 2011) Steve Arpin, a top Canadian prospect in pursuit of a full-time ride in one of NASCAR’s premiere racing divisions, will be on hand to participate in the Canadian Young Guns Fan Q&A Forum on Saturday morning, January 22 (10:45 to 11:30 a.m.) at the Canadian Motorsports Expo.

The 27 year-old Arpin, who lists Fort Frances, Ontario as his hometown, will come to Toronto directly from an ARCA Series test at Daytona to discuss his career, as well as his plans and hopes for the upcoming 2011 stock car racing season. Arpin will also be participating in the Inside Track Readers’ Choice Awards presentations on Saturday evening at the CME (starts at 6:45 p.m.).

No stranger to the Winner’s Circle, Arpin started his competitive career with seven snowmobile World Championships before switching his focus to four-wheeled, dirt track competition. Innumerable race wins and championships followed as Arpin campaigned his #00 Dirt Modified throughout Ontario and the mid-western United States. A three-season stretch of consecutive race wins at his home track, Emo Speedway, resulted in a competitive ‘bounty’ being placed on his head, but the challenge went unclaimed as Arpin’s success continued.

Eventually heading to the heart of NASCAR country, Arpin settled in North Carolina and was befriended by Sprint Cup star Carl Edwards. Offered a ride in Edwards’ Silver Crown car, Arpin went on to earn the USAC Rookie of the Year award in 2008.

He then moved to the ARCA series, first with Eddie Sharp Racing and then with (Billy) Venturini Motorsports (in 2009). That effort resulted in a seventh-place, year-end points effort and his first of two ARCA Most Popular Driver awards. Returning to the ARCA Series last year with a limited schedule, Arpin piloted his #55 Mike’s Hard Lemonade Toyota to three race victories (DuQuoin, Texas and Salem) and 10 top 10 finishes.

That success opened the door to seven NASCAR Nationwide Series starts for Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s JR Motorsports (driving both the #7 and #88 Chevrolets), where Arpin scored a top-10 finish in the Subway Jalapeno 250 event. Last season, Arpin was backed by Canadian-based Mike’s Hard Lemonade.

Said Arpin of his drives for JR Motorsports, “Nationwide was definitely an eye-opener, I learned so much in those seven races, watching and following Carl (Edwards), Kyle (Busch) and Brad (Keselowski), I learned something every lap. And that experience paid dividends when I returned to the ARCA series.”

Usually reluctant to get out of a racecar, Arpin is nevertheless excited about his first-ever visit to Toronto. “We have an incredible fan base in Canada, and their support is what makes the effort worthwhile. It will be so cool to be able to meet some of them, shake their hands, sign some autographs and thank them for their interest.”

REVSTAR PR - Une nouvelle saison et un nouveau championnat !

La série Revstar ABF amorce son championnat hivernal de course sur glace !

Après plusieurs mois de démarches, la série Revstar dévoile enfin son calendrier des courses sur glace.

Implanter un nouveau championnat ce n'est jamais facile et, malgré certaines appréhensions, l'attrait pour ce type de compétition aura pris le dessus. La plupart des propriétaires de bolides Revstar ont décidé de relever ce nouveau défi.

La série Revstar présentera 5 courses disputées sur 5 circuits différents. La saison débute dès le 31 janvier prochain.

ACT CHAMPION, AN OUTLAW, AND A YOUNG STAR ENTER NEW SMYRNA

Waterbury, VT – On Saturday, January 22, 2011 Brian Hoar will be crowned American Canadian Tour (ACT) Champion for a record-tying 7^th time since 1992. Hoar, from Williston, VT will celebrate by driving his RPM race team Chevrolet in the inaugural New Smyrna Speedway (NSS) ACT Goodyear Speedweek Cup event to be held on Sunday, February 13 and Monday, February 14, 2011 in New Smyrna, Florida.

Rick Paya, owner of RPM Motorsports, who also has won seven titles as former owner and crew chief for Jean-Paul Cyr and now Hoar, has also entered his newest team member, ACT runner-up rookie of the year in 2010, Austin Theriault from Fort Kent, Maine in the first-ever race in Florida for ACT. The formidable RPM team will field both a Chevrolet and Ford in the event.

“We have a Ford being prepared for Brian for the coming ACT season, but with the addition of Austin to our RPM team, we are a little too busy to get Austin’s Ford done and also the new car for Brian. I actually like the idea of having both our Chevy and Ford at New Smyrna. It should give us some valuable information as we look toward the 2011 ACT campaign this season,” said Rick Paya, owner of RPM Motorsports.

Theriault is just a junior in high school and also an outstanding Maine State champion contending wrestler. With school commitments, and a Maine State wrestling Championship meet the weekend of February 12, it looked like Theriault would miss the first race of the year with his new race team. “We will get him there after his wrestling obligation, probably will have to fly him down on Sunday morning, but we don’t want him to miss this chance to race,” said Paya.

ACT also received an entry from New England’s premier ‘Outlaw’, Eddie MacDonald form Rowley, MA. MacDonald has been a successful independent running on the NASCAR K&N Series (formerly Busch East) and the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. His ACT Late Model short track efforts have been nothing short of spectacular with back-to-back wins in one of the country’s most prestigious events, the Oxford 250 at the Oxford Plains Speedway in Maine. MacDonald also won the inaugural ACT Invitational at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway in 2009. “I just love to race, and this looked like a great way to get the 2011 season started. We get real busy with our NASCAR schedule in the spring and summer, but we try to make some of the ACT type shows during the season, and this NSS trip will give us a chance to relax and have some fun,” said MacDonald.

Entries for the first ACT Goodyear Speedweek Cup have come in from Ontario, Quebec, New York, Vermont, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont. The non-point event will qualify using the northern heat style of racing, followed by a 100-lap main event on Sunday, February 13^th. The field will be inverted for Monday’s 100 lap event. Both 100 lap events will pay a moderate purse, with a combined purse making up the bulk of the $33,000.00 posted purse.
