Nous lui souhaitons de tout c¦ur une autre pole-position et enfin une première victoire en série Nationwide devant ses partisans », a déclaré le promoteur délégué de l'événement et Président d'Octane management inc., François Dumontier.
Originaire de Joliette au Québec, Patrick Carpentier a décroché la position de tête de cette course en 2007 et a terminé au second rang en 2007 et 2008. Lors des courses de 2009 et 2010 à Montréal, Carpentier roulait dans le peloton de tête jusqu'à ce que des ennuis mécaniques ne le contraignent à l'abandon.
« Pour moi, cette course est la plus importante de l'année », commente le pilote de 39 ans qui en 2007, avait mené pendant 14 tours sur le circuit routier de 4,361 km (2,71 milles). « Nous avons souvent touché à la victoire de près à Montréal, et je crois que, cette année, nos chances seront très bonnes. Je l'ai dit à maintes reprises, terminer en première place à Montréal serait certainement un moment fort de ma carrière. »
Carpentier a pris le départ à 14 courses de la série Nationwide et 39 courses de la Coupe Sprint après avoir remporté cinq courses en série CART où il a connu une brillante carrière au volant de voitures à roues découvertes. Il a aussi pris place sur un podium montréalais à quatre reprises, obtenant une victoire et une 3e place en Formule Atlantique et une 3e place à deux occasions en série CART.
« Patrick Carpentier est un pilote déterminé, fonceur et ambitieux auquel NAPA peut assurément s'identifier. Nous sommes très fiers que Patrick soit au volant de la voiture NAPA encore une fois cette année. Michael Waltrip Racing, Gary et Blake Bechtel ainsi que Travis Pastrana sont les copropriétaires de Pastrana-Waltrip Racing. Pastrana, véritable légende dans plusieurs sports extrêmes, prendra le volant de la Toyota à sept occasions en 2011, tout d'abord le 30 juillet prochain lors de la course d'Indianapolis.

''We are extremely proud to see someone like Patrick, a great friend of our event being confirmed for our August race. Our spectators cheering for him will be numerous. We surely wish him another pole position and finally, a first Nationwide Series win in front of his home crowd," said François Dumontier, President of Octane Management Inc. and Delegated Promoter of the event.
The Joliette (Quebec) native won the pole for this race in 2007 and posted second-place finishes in 2007 and 2008. The 2009 and 2010 Montreal races saw Carpentier as one of the fastest on the track before mechanical issues ended his races early.
"This is the most important race of the year for me," said the 39-year-old Carpentier who led 14 laps of the 2007 race on the 2.71-mile (4.361 km) road course. "We've been so close in Montreal and I think this year we have as good of a shot as anyone. I've said many times that winning in Montreal would definitely be a highlight in my career."
Carpentier owns 14 Nationwide and 39 Sprint Cup starts after winning five races in CART in a stellar open wheel career. He has quite a history on the Montreal track finishing first and third in Formula Atlantic races and posting two third-place finishes in CART.
"Patrick Carpentier is a driver with whom NAPA can easily identify: he is determined, dynamic and ambitious. We are very proud to have Patrick behind the wheel of our NAPA car again this year.
